My stay at Longboard Paradise Surfclub was absolutely perfect. The place is very nice and clean, I was comfortable the whole time. It is right in front of the beach so there is a gorgeous view of the ocean. Breakfast was included and it was a generous portion and yummy food! I also took advantage of the pool and sauna, which was super fun! All of the staff are kind, helpful, and welcoming. The restaurant at the place had great food and was fairly priced. I also ended up making friends with several of the other guests staying there! The place has a recreational room with a tv, sitting area, Sinuca table, and dining table. It was super cute and the perfect spot to socialize and hang out with friends. The surf lessons were my favorite part. The instructors were all very nice and wonderful teachers. I learned quite fast due to their guidance! And it was so fun hanging out with them while waiting for waves. I am also especially grateful for Lucas, who besides being an awesome surfing instructor, was a huge part of making my trip super exciting and fun! He had so many great recommendations for restaurants, bars and nightlife, and nearby beaches, hikes, and viewpoints (and almost all of them within walking distance!) He would sometimes accompany us on our outings and he is such lovely company! He went above and beyond to make sure we fell in love with Recreio Dos Bandeirantes, and I definitely did :) I will certainly be coming back here soon! Thanks a ton!

So much to do nearby. Small riders bar was fun, Maikai restaurant was very yummy and inexpensive (I went multiple times), Prainha is a gorgeous nearby beach. You can also take a lovely hike to the top of the little mountain on the beach there!
Safety
I felt totally safe the whole time I was here! And so did everyone I came with! Much safer than zona sul, where I spend a lot of my time.
Walkability
I did so many things during my stay and only took an Uber one time to Layback bar which was super cool and worth it! Besides that, I walked to nearby restaurants with great food and low prices, cool bars, and beautiful beaches and hikes. The beach in front of the hotel is not even a 1 minute walk!

Great restaurant at longboard paradise, also great bars and food options nearby and everything was inexpensive. Maikai had great food and was very cheap, also only about a 3 minute walk away from Longboard Paradise.

I highly recommend this incredible hostel! It's situated just 10 meters away from the beach, offering a perfect location for relaxation. The team is absolutely lovely, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you're into surfing, this place is a must-visit, as it allows you to disconnect from the world and enjoy the waves. I can't put into words how grateful I am for my stay at Longboard Paradise - it was the most incredible way to begin my journey through Brazil. I was welcomed with open arms, taken care of thoroughly during both my stays, helped with whatever I needed help with, and really felt at home thanks to the community both working and residing at Longboard Paradise. A HUGE and special thank you to Lais, Amanda and Ceci - they went above and beyond in every way they could and the stay wouldn't have been the same without them. The best place to stay in Rio! In one of the most safest neighborhoods in the city, I have never seen anything like this place. Outside of this complex being equipped with all the materials for surfing, it is filled with entertainment inside it’s own facility. Living rooms with high quality televisions, sauna, swimming pool, gym, space for yoga, so many bathrooms. The 4 days that I stayed here with my wife felt like magic. I want to thank Mr. Hamilton, Julia, Clarissa, Mika, Ana Laura, Eddy and the entire staff of people who went out of their way to make this the best trips of our lives. If you ever have the chance, you must visit this hidden paradise, located in one of 7 most beautiful cities in the world.

If you ever need a Hostel to stay at in Recreio, this is the place. We were backpacking for a month in Brasil and this Hostel was just the perfect Stop for us to have some sweet surf days. Very clean, comfy, with good food and the team is simply wonderful! JP even took us to a Footballgame in Maracaná, which is an experience we will never forget. Also thanks to Mauro and Dina who took such good care of us and even took us hiking and with them to bars and clubs on a night out. Hope to see you guys soon! ❤️✨

I strongly recommend LONGBOARD PARADISE for your surf trip. I had an absolutely amazing time there. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets.The sunrise is just speechless! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. A great hostel!!! I recommend it with my whole heart. I've been traveling for 3 months, so I've been in different hostels and I can assure you that this hostel is one of the best, the staff is so friendly and makes you feel at home, they helped us with every thing we needed with goodwill, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped, you can rent a surfboard and take surf lessons, there is a pool and a gym. What else do you need??

Amazing hostel! We did the surf-school as well and it paired really well with our stay. The staff was kind and helpful with everything. Especially Lukas was great with organising trips and helping us with bookings and recommendations for our travels further into the country! 11/10 experience definitely go here if you have the chance!!!

Really nice hostel in front of the besch, perfect if you want to take some surf lessons, the instructors are very patient and friendly. Everything went good during the stay, and i would recommend it bc for an hostel it was quite quiet. The only negative point would be the kitchen, it s to small according the capacity of the hostel, and some machines (ex toaster) were not clean But it still one of the best hostel i have stayed.

Great hostel right on the beach with a good surf shop. Nice staff. Some room for improvement: - dorm beds are rather small if you are over 1.80cm - dorms need mosquito net for the windows, there are many that come into the room - dorms need clothing hooks, currently not possible to hang your towel or wet swimshorts anywhere. Impractical.

Didn’t stay at the hostel but a great place to take a few surf lessons or rent a board. Lessons are very thorough and help to improve your technique and build good surfing habits. All the surf teachers I met were great but Felipe in particular was a great help to me.

Best hostel I have ever stayed in — great functional training areas, yoga, sauna, pool, co-working areas. If you came to surf, you get the best facilities: board rentals, a secure spot to leave your board, outdoor showers, wetsuit drying racks and an amazing peak right in front! The staff are always there to help you with anything Big love Longboard Paradise Hostel!

We rented three boards for four days and was very satisfied! They have all types of different boards, everything from first time surf experience boards to 6.0 short boards and all of them are in great shape! The service are perfect as well! Super sweet people all of them! Definitely recommendable… 5 out of 5 stars for sure
