I love this small park a lot. The lion face in a tree that has grown to engulf the fence dividing the park from the canyon is beautiful. There are lots of birds and wildlife. There is a leash law here, too. (Mira mesa does have a dog park, for those who want their pups to run freely, but its not here) Saturday mornings there is usually a cricket match being played on the field. There are snakes in the canyon which do sometimes come to the park. I uploaded a photo of one rather long one right below one of the signs warning of their existence.

Great place to fly my drone Ok still learning but a lot of open grass. The place has got a definite pigeon infestation, stop feeling them. Maybe someones kid won't get sick or catch lice. The drinking fountains are not for dogs, trashcans were overflowing. Guess we know where our tax resources AREN'T GOING. In it's defects the park does have a nice view of the canyon. And a 440 yard walking track. Kids all looked like they were enjoying themselves Didn't see any kind of problems that would stop me from going back again. Nice family with kids park

Nice park. There is a playground, a bathroom and a baseball field. The outfield in the softball field is very large (It wouldn't all be used for a softball game) There is room for a ultimate, soccer, football, etc.. There is an several small "park gyms" and an outdoor basketball court. I have also seen people using the walking path to practice track. Field has decent drainage, it will be a little wet/muddy the following day after a rain store but still usable. Great little park.

This is a small kept secret park that my kiddos love to go to when we get tired of Covid days and want a not so crowded park to play. I can watch the boys play basketball and my daughter play at the playground at the same time which is a perk. My daughter loves the playground which has a big kid and little kid option. The basketball court is big enough for everyone and the field has a loop for strolls or just to fly kites on the green grassy area. We love this park!

Pretty great park, it has a well lit basketball court, a large field with baseball diamond and large grassy field for sports or play. A large children's playground (small and large climber with slides plus a big tire swing) and multiple small playgrounds with bars and exercise equipment. Great place to play, workout, have a picnic, or walk your dog (free doggie poop bags available too). And it also has a public restroom and small recreation center.

Very nice place to spend time with your kids, and yes its free !!! Well, technically not- because you paid for it through your TAXES :) Good to see that the city is spending my tax money on quality items! The thing that we mostly like about this park is the view- which I would say is a Million Dollar view ! You can see the big horizon and the whole expanse of the Sorrento Valley Ridge from here. Also, people and dogs friendly place :)

Great park. Wonderful playground with canopy for plenty of shade. Patio with tables for parties and picnics. Convenient facilities accessible throughout the day and early evening. Well lit paved walkway with multiple exercise stations along the route. Well lit basketball full court. Baseball field and plenty of room for other activities on the grass. Plenty of overlooks into the canyon and nature preserve.

Park is a wonderful place to bring your toddlers, tweens or teens on a weekend. Has a large grass field area for baseball tee practice, soccer, tag foitball, etc. a nice foot path around the field for a leisure walk. A play set with canopy for the tots. A basketball court for the teens at heart. You can even rent the picnic tables for your next birthday party.

  • Wayne Grazio

It is a nice park but it's a small park and there are often groups in teams utilizing most out the field during the weekends. Contrary to some photos, this is NOT a dog park. Dogs have to be leashed and in control by handlers. All too often, dogs are let loose to run around by some owners. Use caution if you dont like dogs or have small children.

A great place for breakfast and evening picnics.. There are enough benches and tables for it.. As they are not shaded, I cannot assure afternoons.. Sometimes, a group of pigeons will come there and offer us a fleet.. You can gaze at a scenic valley nearby.. There is a ground nearby, where people played cricket at the time of our visit..

  • Aron Weiler

Really nice park with a small indoor facility you can rent for parties and what not. Apparently they're fairly strict on the facility rental time, you have to be in and out exactly on time, or there's a penalty. Inside could be a little nicer, hence the 4 stars, and it's a little expensive, too at $50/hr. Otherwise everything is great!

  • Kenneth Maxey

Fantastic park. Lots of parking, bathrooms, water fountains, multi structure play ground with a tire swing (no regular swings), Sand pit, and sun sails providing ample shading. There are also several stations for parallel bars, pull up bars, sit ups, basketball court etc. Its pretty hot up there so make sure to bring plenty of fluids.

  • Kevin Doyle

Great community park that has a large field for team sports and/or playing fetch with fido. There's a paved track around the field that is great for casual walking or jogging. A full basketball court, two peices of playground equipment and a staffed office with helpful people make this a very wonderful spot for all.

  • Michael Truong Nguyen

Love the wide concrete pad around the baseball field. It is wide enough for the kids to play with scooters. Play structure has shade so it is nice during hot weather. Limited parking can be an issue when there is birthday party. There is a population of California quail running around the west side of the park.

  • erica wagner

This park is great for everyone! It has play areas for the young kids, baseball field and workout stations for older kids and adults. You can walk your dog here or have a picnic on the grass or at one of the big tables. The restroom is always clean here and there is a drinking fountain for you and for your dog!

  • Kristina Delaski

Great park for soccer! Huge open field to accommodate any sport or activity with a walking trail around it that has a few gym stations. The large covered playground is great for kids, even on warmer days. There is a basketball ball court, a shaded area with picnic tables, and a restroom. Would visit again.

  • David Oakley

A pleasant city park above a quiet canyon paralleling Calle Cristobal for a nice hike 100 ft below street level; in all a 3 mile loop returning via Calle Cristobal. There are several picnic tables plus toilets. A lack of tall trees means there is little shade for post-hike picnicking on a warm sunny day.

  • manish dangol

Nice..mid size park, but comes with many amenities like basketball court, baseball field, children playground, community hall for rental, water fountain, restroom, walking/running path around the field. The best thing is this place is never crowded and so could always enjoy the area whenever we are here.

  • Jacek Ostrowski

Great park. Has good shade for the kids area. Has a baseball diamond and a long path around the field. Great place to bring the dog or kids on bikes. The center has decent bathrooms and the park is located away from the road. Ample parking. A real gem of the community.

  • Brenda Jones

I got the stomach flu but had to hang out to wait for my son to finish soccer camp. The bathroom was super clean & the drinking fountain had cool water. There was shade for me to be as comfortable as possible given my situation. The park has a great playground too.

Beautiful park with a basketball and a baseball court. Surrounded by a jogging/walking track that overlooks the canyon. The park has nice bathrooms and a community center with community events. It's a great park for the neighborhood.

  • Empress Of Love

I like this park. Has basketball court, little playground couple of bench tables, small rec center and you can walk around the outside of the small grassy field area and take in the view of the canyons nearby. Dog friendly park also.

  • Leesa Hinsch

My local park. I love it! I do laps around the park while watching the birds, squirrels and cottontail bunnies. Cute little playground for kids. Basketball court. Baseball field. Great trees to sit in the shade on the grass.

  • Julie J

Nice little park. Unfortunately every dog I saw there was not on a leash, so it has kind of turned into a dog park. Won't recommend if you don't want your fido to meet strange dogs. Also a lot of picnic trash on the lawn.

  • Mohammad Moghimi

Nice views plus shaded playground and less sand compared to some other parks.
Playground
Covered playground. Shade is pretty nice in hot days. Also you get a nice breeze since it's next to a large canyon.

  • jean rosario
