Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience at Los Gatos Memorial Park I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Los Gatos Memorial Park, and I feel compelled to share my frustration and dissatisfaction with others. Yesterday, I visited the park to inquire about the marker for my mother's grave, which I had been informed had been delivered. Unfortunately, my experience from that point onwards was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, I left my son and his dog in the car, ensuring that the air conditioning was on to combat the heat. I approached the staff, hoping to locate the marker, but to my dismay, nobody seemed to know its whereabouts. After a long search, they eventually found it unattended by the barn, where it had been left for over a month. Shockingly, nobody had bothered to inform us of its delivery or the requirement to sign a contract for installation. Expressing my frustration, I requested installing the marker, only to be informed that I would need to sign a contract and make a payment. Given the lack of trust I had developed due to their negligence, I refused to make the payment until the marker was installed. The employee said that she needed her manager's approval, and while she attempted to reach him, I went to the car to get my son and his dog. It is important to note that the dog in question is a service dog for my son. Upon seeing the dog in the office, the employee promptly informed me that dogs were not allowed on the premises. I explained that they would wait until the babysitter arrived to pick them up, as they had already been waiting in the car for an extended period. However, this information was relayed to another employee, who approached me with the same statement about dogs not being permitted. My frustration mounted as I reiterated that they are waiting to be picked up and the dog was a service animal, with full rights to accompany my son. In a moment of frustration, I may have conveyed my feelings brusquely, but I promptly apologized to the employee involved. At this point, the manager finally arrived, but his approach was far from professional or understanding. He immediately began speaking to me in an extremely rude manner, dismissing any opportunity for me to explain the situation. He claimed that the dog had no place in his office, even if it was a service dog. Furthermore, he accused me of being an impostor and belittled my frustration, considering the month-long delay a mere "human error." Needless to say, I was appalled by the manager's behavior and complete lack of empathy. This entire experience has left me deeply disheartened and has made me question whether Los Gatos Memorial Park is truly a welcoming place to honor my mother's memory. The mismanagement and disregard for customer service displayed by the staff, particularly the manager, are unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone who may be considering Los Gatos Memorial Park for the final resting place of their loved ones to seek alternatives. This place has shown a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and respect. It is a regrettable establishment that fails to uphold the solemnity and dignity that such a sacred space should encompass.
My grandma has been here a couple years now, it’s a beautiful cemetery BUT this past week I brought her new fresh flowers while having to clean up old flowers that possibly had been sitting there for months (it was slimy and the petals were crunchy and flaking off so I knew it had been a while.) My family had gone today to visit for her 4 year anniversary and I was told that there were no flowers.. so you’re meaning to tell me the groundskeeper did not tend to the area my gramma is buried in but coincidentally was able to come by between Wednesday and Sunday (that’s only 4 days) to cleanup a fresh batch of flowers before it could even see the anniversary date? But the entire time before that, nobody came to clean up? Just found it odd AND disrespectful, if there’s a new (or somewhat new) bouquet sitting at somebody’s tombstone, why would you clean that up? And if they did come by before Wednesday, why did they choose to leave everything else? Was it because it’s easier to pick up and throw away clean flowers? Rather than getting your hands dirty and disposing of the old ones? So disappointed, please be mindful when you bring things for your loved ones because clearly the groundskeepers at Los Gatos Memorial will not :(
Our family had a very important guest that was here from out of town just passing through and he wanted to visit my parents. The website says the gates are open from dawn to dusk and someone from what I’m assuming is the staff posted on google that they open at 630 (that should have gave me a hint that they’re not telling the truth). We show up with a group of 5 people at 6:40 based on that information and guess what? The gates are locked! We called someone from the property and they called back 1 hour later saying they unlocked the gates. You expect us to wait around for an hour? Follow what your website says or put an accurate time so that you don’t mislead people. What a shame. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. They are wayyyyyy to expensive and heartless, they take all your money and prey on the fact that you’re vulnerable and then..... they lock the gates so you can’t even visit your loved ones at a time you want. What a shame. What a sorry excuse for a cemetery.
Always grateful for The Office staff in a time of need. However, Groundskeepers are Disrespectful, especially when the cleanup schedule is only twice a year. Families offer their loved ones non-perishables. These items are disposed of before scheduled cleanup dates. I reported to park management, and the manager blamed me for it; they never had any solid control and did not respond to the things of loved ones disappearing. Buyer beware!
Recently I needed paperwork associated with the cremated remains of my father, so I contacted Los Gatos Memorial Park, who had performed the service years ago. I initially spoke with Dana, who started me off on my search in a very positive and informed way. She arranged for me to speak with David George, who called me back, as she said he would, to answer my questions. Not only did he intelligently and pleasantly answer my questions, but he gave me answers for questions I didn't know to ask and saved me from the frustration of following needless dead ends. I was thankful to find that competent and kind people are present to help us when we need it. Thank you to Los Gatos Memorial Park and Chapel of the Hills.
The cemetery is nestled next to the Los Gatos mountains and in a very quiet area of Los Gatos & San Jose. We from the ideal site after visiting about five times and each time the counselor Tina Teran drove us around with patience and kindness and explained everything to us. The plot itself was only about $1,500 more another places that we looked at, but while standing or walking around the Memorial Park, I felt a sense of peace especially with the view of the mountains next to this location. Also this is where my dad wanted to be buried it was perfect for us.
I am so grateful for Los Gatos Memorial park cemetery providing our family with a beautiful service during COVID-19 shelter in place. They were all so kind, compassionate and made it possible for our family and friends to view through livestream our daughter’s service. Even though we could only have 10 of us gather physically for the service, they allowed loved ones to park inside in order to be close to us. The park is beautiful and I’m thankful to have a beautiful place to visit.
These guys helped me with my father's passing. I went to visit his stone the other day and it stills looks absolutely beautiful! We all love it (especially my mom), and for that i'm grateful I worked with Los Gatos. I highly recommend them - you won't regret it.
This is a beautiful park, always well maintained. We had my dad's service here and he is interred here. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable throughout the initial pre-purchase of the niche, the service planning and on the day. The service was beautiful.
Everyone at Los Gatos Memorial Park has been caring and professional. We are grateful to all the staff but especially to Tony who walked us through the process and literally stood by us through the hardest. We will always be grateful and thankful.
Two of my favorite people were buried there. Been visiting once a year for the past 11 years. The park was peaceful and well-maintained. Staff were polite and respectful. Funeral service was organized. A sad but spiritually transforming place...
Thank you for your services. The office staff is very cordial and polite and connect very well with people. The ground staff do their job well. The place is neat and clean and well maintained. May our baby rest in peace at this serene place.
Everyone at Los Gatos Memorial Park was kind and helpful during the entire process - from the purchase of a plot to the actual burial service. We appreciated all of the services and would highly recommend them.
Not gonna lie though, the service and staff is pretty decent here. I went there to see my now deceased grandparents with my cousins and family a couple of times. May both of them fly high and rest easy …
