I paid hundreds of dollars for new mirrors for my studio space and the mirrors were delivered with cracks and chips, etc. some even had epoxy all over them. I asked for replacements and they said they would order the new mirrors and they would call me the next day. No call. A few days after I called back and got a different manager who had no idea what I was talking about and said the manager was on vacation but would call me on Thursday. Thursday came and went. Now it’s over a week later. I called back, got a third person claiming to be the store manager, Shannon, who ALSO can’t do anything because now HER manager is on vacation. How many managers’ managers do i have to go through to get what I paid for? How are three “managers” all taking vacations and no one is available to replace these used, broken mirrors they sold me? Shannon suggests I bring them back for a refund. If I do that, I’d have to rent a truck, and they don’t refund for shipping! I paid $70 extra for someone to deliver used, broken mirrors and no one at the store can pick them up to return them, nor can they swap them out for new ones. This is nonsense. No one at this store is willing to take any action, they just push it off to the next “manager.” Please don’t go here. Go somewhere where they check products before delivering them, and take them back if they sell you something used. Super disappointed.
NEVER, I repeat NEVER order new windows from Lowe's! This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. They use a 3rd party installer who never fully sealed my windows (there's a gap on one side of each of my windows) and now after NINE WEEKS (over two months!) and counting my windows still have freezing cold air coming thru because this 3rd party installer didn't seal them all the way on one side of each window. I paid thousands of dollars for these windows and no one at Lowe's seems to be able to get this situation rectified (they all keep telling me it's "being escalated" but after TWO MONTHS with no resolution, maybe your "escalation" process needs to change?!). It's like if you ordered a refrigerator and they delivered it but it doesn't work. Is that "installed"?! Don't make the same mistake I did. Go with a company that specializes in windows. This has been a nightmare and honestly, they may never fix these windows. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this awful company to seal my windows (something that should have been done when they "installed them"), please let me know. I can't even sleep in the bedroom that the windows were "installed" because it's been freezing due to the cold air coming in.
Save your time and nerves and go to Costco or Home Depot if you are buying appliances. My worst experience so far: 1. Scheduled delivery for 9 to 1 pm window - crew arrived at 8 am on Sunday morning making me rush to make arrangements. They unpacked the product on the truck and it was smashed - waste of my time. 2. Tried to reschedule delivery and I see new order placed under my name this time without haul away and hook up, which I was charged for $60 at this store. 3. I decided to cancel it all together and went back to the store. They said they can't do anything because it already went to delivery and just gave me phone number to call. 4. Now it's been a week and they are saying that they sent me GIFT CARD that I can only use at the store and even that gift card is lacking $60 that I was charged at THIS store. Now I have to spend HOURS talking to different departments: Customer Service, Delivery, Delivery Management, Finance - just to get my money back. Do you want the same fun experience? - go on and place an order with Lowe's
Bought a dishwasher from the Memorial Day sale. Paid for delivery, removal and installation.Removed my dishwasher and placed it outside by the back gate for easy removal by the installer as requested. Booked this a week out. Delivery guy calls and says he can't make it less than an hour before delivery time, which I took off of work for. He went to install in Rockford instead and can't get back to Chicago in time. NO dishwasher now. Memorial Day Weekend, three young children. Horrible customer service. Couldn't care less that they just blew me off after I paid.. EDIT--- updated to 4 stars. The installer/delivery person came the next day, so my kitchen was only torn apart for 1 day. WE went out to dinner, but the communication and attention to the schedule could be improved. The dishwasher works perfectly and was installed correctly.
I don't write this review with pleasure. I've purchased 15+ appliances from this store over the years and within the last year or so their delivery/installation teams have become impossible to deal with. Often times they simply won't install, make excuses for why they can't install and otherwise just try to get out of doing their job. As a landlord, I need reliable delivery and installation since I am coordinating with tenants. Unfortunately, I will be taking my appliance shipping to ABT who has their delivery teams in house with competent pros and will install during evenings. I may pay a little more but it's worth it to not have to spend hours on the phone fighting with JB Hunt, the distribution center and the store where I purchased from.
Lowe's has good people, but they are limited on what they can do. First, I bought a refrigerator that when the men delivered it damaged it on some places and it makes a weird motor noise. When I called the store, the store manager did not speak to me he relayed the message through another manager. They offered to replace the refrigerator but not for the damages to my porch I found and a damaged refrigerator and the problems of a late delivery. I think the stores have limited capabilities and that I have to wait until the refrigerator got delivered for any compensation. The delivery men had to come late and was full of deliveries the store just give them so many orders and expect miracles. Not happy with my experience.
This is by far the best Lowe's store in the City and surrounding area. I believe that is also one of the newest stores. I have always found this store to be very neat and organized. The Isles are well-marked and items are easy to find. They always seem to have a great selection of seasonal items to. You can find lots of Halloween and Christmas items as well as household supplies. I have to give a shout out to Christian in Plumbing. On our last visit on October 16th, he not only helped us with an item in his department but also what is over to another item in a different department that we were looking for. He was very generous with his time and looked up our additional item and was very courteous and polite.
This review is for delivery drivers backing into one of the two docks they have available. The docks are on a one way street. You must blind side park into one. It's challenging PERIOD. The street is a slim. Deliver overnight if you can. UNDERSTAND the traffic through this alley is not light. The space you're given is very limited. This is just a heads up. Do not try to be perfect backing into these docks. This experience is from me trying to back into a dock with a 53 foot trailer with a International semi. I got it in the dock but it is not square. I may have to go back and try to square it more. 7-8 months experience. Hope this helps other drivers and deliveries.
This place is in utter disarray. I came to Lowe's with the app in hand, stopped to save time and absolutely wasted half an hour going to this store. I was trying to find the aisle that the app said my item was in (the aisle actually didn't exist). 20 aisles down from where it should be was the item that I was looking for. I'm looking around looking for signs. looking for departments utterly lost, nobody offers to help me but one staff who had no idea where aisle 42 was. About to storm out I walked by customer service, who knew approximately where the item would be. I'll keep going to Home Depot when I need an item, Menards when I need something cheap thank you.
Beware! Misleading outdoor CLEARANCE! The outdoor clearance racks are actually not on clearance, according to the staff, and confirmed by a manager. If there is no actual damage to the plant on the rack, the customer must assume someone placed it there accidentally. I was told 3 plants I took from the rack were not supposed to be there because of no real damage and no line marked on the bar code? Although all the outdoor clearance had no visible line on the bar code tag. According to the associate-no one had checked the outdoor plants all day. It was 4:10 pm. I would not recommend this location and will not be going back. The manager was not helpful at all.
If I could leave no stars I would. They gave me the wrong dryer. I purchased a gas dryer and they loaded an electric dryer in my truck. When my contractor went to install it 2 weeks later we noticed it. We went to return it and they only gave me back a portion of my payment on the spot and said they couldn’t give me store credit. Also refused to refund the extended warranty I purchased and just said I will have to put in an IT ticket to get it back. Assistant manager Ken was rude and said he was helping me but really did nothing other than stating Lowe’s policy when he could have overrode it. So now we have to wait and hope to get our money back.
Landlord bought a new washer/dryer. Sold her a lemon. After waiting over a week to have it installed, it didn’t work on the first load. The washer will not lock, so my clothes just sit in water after it turns itself off, and the dryer ran all night. Now they are saying that it will be another week before someone can “come and diagnose the problem.” So now, I have a brand new piece of junk in my house that doesn’t work instead of bringing another one that works. Lowe’s doesn’t value my landlords money or my time, since I have to wait between 8-12 AGAIN next week! Go to Home Depot.
Be very cautious purchasing appliances from Lowes in city limits. It's best if you are able to take the items on the day of purchase. Whichever delivery service they use is extremely sub-par. We've ordered thousands of dollars in appliance over 3 days and can't get things delivered or installed correctly. Had to make several appointments to mitigate simple issues. Plus, they won't give you the delivery services contact information. I can't say whether or not the service they use isn't responsive because everything is parlayed through Lowes CS. May the odds be ever in your favor
This place is the worst, every time I go there I regret it. The only thing harder than finding what you are looking for is finding someone that works there with any interest in helping you. Nobody ever asks if you need help, you have to confront them if you can even find someone. This morning on a busy Saturday I saw four younger employees hiding around the corner of the lawn and garden stuff outside, cracking jokes and doing nothing while customers were left to figure it out on their own. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else, even if you have to drive a little extra.
I had a few questions for anyone in home decor yesterday. I called and was immediately transferred to a knowledgeable and very helpful Associate named John. He placed me on hold for a very brief second and confirmed that he had one in stock. He offered to leave it with their customer service department where I was able to walk in a retrieve it. I appreciate willingness to hear me out and listen to exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely return and shop at this location as a credit to his great customer service. Thank you Sir.
Horrible experience. I bought a NEW dryer at this location which I payed $944 for. And when I went to pick it up the dryer was not packaged, full of scratches , and a bunch of grease stains with dust. I definitely asked for the refund of my money because it’s unacceptable that Im getting something that looks used and I’m paying full price for it. Employees were not helpful at all and rude but I should of had excepted this from the start since this location is in Chicago..
I just bought a microwave above the stove here. It is a GE Profile that replaces another GE Profile that I had. The average life of a microwave is 5-7 years and I had my last GE Profile for over 20 years, so I highly recommend them. This one has an air fryer setting! And they have 12 months to pay with no interest! Lowe's has the newest appliances. I bought my refrigerator here 5 yrs ago and am very happy with it. The sales people are very nice too and easy to work with.
Joseph Trankina, their in-house kitchen designer, is THE BEST!!! He was immensely patient and worked well within my project parameters to find me the perfect cabinetry solutions. He was also thorough enough in the details to save me from what would have surely been expensive errors were I designing alone! Not to mention, he has excellent taste :) I seriously can’t praise Joseph enough! I’ll be going back for other phases of this project and future projects as well.
They usually have everything you need but a few times I was told that other locations may have what I am looking for by the employees stating that there is a main location somewhere else. There wasn't too many interesting Christmas decorations and ornaments this year (2022/2023) which was disappointing so I hope they will get some interesting things for next year. Anyhow I'vealmost always got what I needed and they also have a beautiful selection of flowers.
Walked in to buy some house items, was greeted by a friendly face. I think his name was Sam. (also helped me in the paint department) As I was walking around, I met the Store Manager Jay who was helping all his guests. Answering all questions and I absolutely love the relationship I seen he had with his staff. Eveyone was super friendly and helpful. I can tell its because they have a great person in charge. Great job Jay & team. Kudos to Lowe's.
Enjoyed my experience in the garden section. I spent a happy half hour browsing a lovely selection of house plants as well as everything I needed to keep them in peak condition. I picked up a beautiful variety of succulents and re-upped on pots and soil. Employees were very present on the sales floor. They were also helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. A very special shout-out to Daniela for all her help! I will be back to see you.
This is a smaller Lowe’s but it has a large garden section with ample plant choices. Came here to get some new plants for my garden and fell in love with the many plants to choose from. The staff is readily available to assist you and help you find anything in the store. When I came their gift card system was down so I unfortunately was unable to use my gift card to purchase my plants but the staff was really kind about it.
NO STARS Coming from a lifelong Lowe's supporter, I am appalled at the current state of customer service that I am receiving. I have never been treated so poorly before. The lack of accountability and the refusal to do anything to make my experience better is utterly shocking and reprehensible. I don't know how we got here but, I will never recommend Lowe's to anyone ever again. They will no longer get any business from me.
Man one of the best Lowe’s store at Ashland and Milwaukee, most of the people is awesome, some people particularly in the garden is very bad, with the attitude go and find it by yourself, if you cannot find it then we are out of it wow wow wow what an attitude, I asked the other person from the register he said I cannot go out of the register, I am surprised no one is there in garden bad impression sorry
I come here for the gardening section. They have a good selection of indoor pots and accessories, different soil and nutrient options and of course indoor plants. They also have a 50% off plant section where you can find some good deals. Of course, you’ll have to pick through what’s there, some plants are too far gone to bring back, but I can usually find 2-3 good ones every time I’m here.
I have literally never received worse customer service in my lifetime. I tried calling the store and either no one picks up or the customer service desk hangs up on me after long holds. I was so taken aback that I called Corporate Lowe's and they said a Manager from the store would get back to me in 24-hours. That never happened. It is unbelievable. Avoid this location at all costs.

Getting kitchen cabinets for our home. Joseph in kitchen design was great. He helped us with every step, answered all questions we had, was very nice and informative. Also the manager Yomari was great. Very knowledgeable, nice and attentive. The store is always clean and associates have all seemed to be nice. We always find what we need and get the help if needed.
John H. in the garden section was the most helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly employee you could hope for anywhere. Not only did he answer all my questions and navigate through gardening with efficiency but he also taught me a lot about the plants I was interested in. I was very impressed. Would recommend for all gardening needs.
Purchased a LG refrigerator today, as my refrigerator doesn't get cold anymore. I was able to get it delivered the following day, which is better than the other places I looked. I could have saved maybe 50$ if I drove an extra 10 or 15 miles, but I chose not to. The service was amazing. Super super helpful and friendly.
Panera used to be a welcoming relaxing cafe atmosphere with excellent food and drink. Boy have things changed. This location was sterile and fast food like on the inside. Sparse dining area and little interior design. Felt dirty. They've switched to an iPad self-order system which is also kind of a bummer.
In general, we've found Lowe's to have better customer service than that other "big box" home improvement store. But while looking at fixtures for a bathroom remodel, I was surprised to find this location has an actual plumbing professional on staff: Dan was extremely knowledgable and helpful.
Their in store inventory and online inventory rarely match up. Website will often state something as "available for pickup today at your Wicker Park location", but when I get here will find out that this store doesn't stock the product anymore. Otherwise fairly convenient.
Very helpful staff. Wanted to buy a storm door and the gentleman who was responsible for that section was very knowledgeable and helpful. He showed me all the items. You can almost find anything that you need in this place. All in all, I had a good experience here.
Lowes uses @InstallPartners who has some of the #worstcustomerservice, wait months for them to come do the work just for them to never show up and then are rude about it and make no attempt to reschedule. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! #terriblecustomerservice #scamcompany
