I hadn’t gotten my hair done since 2015, and it took a long time before I found somewhere I was comfortable with going. After being recommended Lucero Hair & Wellness by a couple different sources, I finally booked an appointment. Booking itself was incredibly easy, and the staff replied quickly to my questions and helped get me set up. It made me feel valued as a new customer and left a good impression. My appointment was with Lishette, and she really went above and beyond. My hair is not the easiest to work with but she made it look easy. You can tell the whole team is passionate about their work (as well as extremely knowledgeable) and they take the time to really give you an individual experience— no cookie cutters here! They will take amazing care of you. I got my hair straightened after a wash, and let me tell you: I have never escaped a hair straightening without a burn until this appointment. That probably impressed me more than anything else! Every step of the process was efficient, comfortable, and easy. The space itself is quite nice. It’s comfortable without being too informal, it’s modern without being sterile. You’re offered a drink and snack free as part of your appointment, which is a small touch but really nice. It’s welcoming and doesn’t feel gate-kept which made a big difference in my experience. The prices are, in my opinion, more than fair for the amount of care and experience the team exhibits. They’re also gratuity-free which is something I love to see— it lets me know that the team is being well taken care of. I will definitely be returning to Lucero’s, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for these services. Whether you’re coming for a routine trim or starting a whole new hair journey, I really think you’ll love Lucero’s and their team.

Booked a haircut, beard trim and shave with Alan today. My neck is extremely sensitive and I’ve had some excruciating shaves. Alan was great with listening to my concerns and walking me through steps he’d take to ensure the service was comfortable. The shave was indeed comfortable and not a single bump, rash, or knick. Alan is now one of only three stylists I trust around my neck. Alan has excellent technical skills and a superb eye for shape and style. Love the way he reworked my hair style and beard shape. The shop itself has a great atmosphere and positive vibe. You can easily tell the team enjoys being there and that Lucero’s has a talented group of professionals.

Went and visited Ryan for a much needed change! had been growing out a pixie cut for the last year or so, and was finally ready to get rid of the the grown out mullet. Ryan made me feel confident in his ability to understand my curls and I was able to offer him complete trust while he talked me through every step he planned to make. I saw Lishette for a cut and color and I couldn’t have a had a more perfect experience! The warmth and welcome was instant the moment you walk through the door! Lishette really works with you to get the colors that works for you, and she knows CURLY hair! Nathan did an amazing job with my undercut- all of their stylists are super welcoming and great at what they do! My 12 year old son had a not so great haircut from another shop and was made fun of at school. We booked an appointment with Alan that same day to see what he could do to fix it, or if he had styling suggestions. I was surprised that he was able to use up the whole appointment time to correct the cut. The texture is phenomenal, and everything is incredibly blended. He was so kind, warm, and welcoming. Best of all, my son’s mood immediately improved once his hair was fixed—he no longer feels like it’s necessary to get approval to wear a beanie or his hood at school :)

Hands down the best hair salon I've ever been to. Joshua is fantastic, my hair and beard have never looked better than right after a session with him. The space is beautifully done, understated and industrial, I may start coming early just to hang out and have a coffee, it's that inviting of a space. I get the hour long cut and hour long beard trim and it's worth every penny; I feel relaxed and very well taken care of. It's the most indulgent thing I do for myself.

Ryan's my barber for year. I recently visited him here at Lucero and like always im amazed by the level of skill and artistry he displays. The guys is truly an artist. Even though hes in salt lake now, but its totally worth making a trip up here. I like how he's always studying and competing in haircutting shows to keep getting better. If you ever in south salt lake and needing a haircut, get in touch with Ryan at least once. You won't regret it.

Amanda did such an amazing job with providing me with the cut and style I have always wanted. This is the first time I’ve ever been completely comfortable being trans and receiving the haircut I want without the judgement of what people “thought I should have because they saw female “ being a trans male today made me feel validated in so many ways. I’ve been going to Joshua Lucero for years and I won’t trust anyone else with my hair. He is easy to get along with, asks great questions, and is super versatile. When I first started seeing him, I had shorter hair, and he is an excellent barber. And when I wanted to grow my hair, he worked with me to find the right length and accommodates my whims when I wanna try something new. Wish I could rate six stars.

I have been here twice now for a cut, both with different barbers. The vibe here is extra open and accepting, plus the coffee and snacks are a big plus. Mel was friendly and knowledgeable. Mel helped me decide what I wanted to do with my hair, both cut and color. The color consultation is an excellent idea that helped me decide what I wanted that would be lower maintenance compared to what I’m used to doing

Jeannet has done my hair twice now and assisted me in finding a style that fits my look and both times I’ve gotten more compliments after the fact on how my hair looks than any other cut. I learned about Lucero on TikTok so when it was time for a cut I decided to try them out yesterday. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Lishette gave me a great cut and I am thrilled to have a new go-to place for all my hair needs! I love Lucero's inclusive philosophy and non-gender approach and am so happy SLC has a place like this.

Honestly, the best place in SLC I’ve found to get a haircut. Nathan has been amazing to work with and has done an excellent job every time. Knowing my wedding was coming up he even offered to line up my beard free of charge, which I super appreciated. Not having to worry about a tip and the inclusive atmosphere is the cherry on top. Went in and explained EXACTLY how I wanted my hair cut, got home to style it and found it a HORRIBLE mess, not even close to what I asked for, now I have to pay someone else to fix it and I am not happy, use this place for buzz cuts or fades, but DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR STYLES OR SPECIFIC CUTS, you'll be upset.
