A cute bakery we stopped by on our walk down St Clair. They don’t have tok many things but their freshly baked bread looked super fresh and delicious so we grabbed a loaf. We also grabbed a veggie empanada and an almond chocolate croissant both of which were very tasty. The bakery offers a good collection of frozen and fresh meals. They also have cheeses and meats perfect for some anti pasto. We tried their chicken pot pie which was topped with biscuits instead of a traditional pie and it was pretty yummy. Would love to come back for more!

Mabel's on St clair. Horrible place to get sweets. I walked all the way there expecting to find an abundance of choices in particular vegan cupcakes. As they are advertised on the website. But they had NOTHING vegan, the person at the counter thought that one item might be vegan. Well now that's reassuring. And they only had 1 cheesecake available which was for some non vegans. A whole store based on pastries and they had basically zero selection. And with staff who had no idea what each item was. I would not recommend this place.

The breads are baked fresh everyday. Infact everything is fresh of the day. Stuff that is not of the same day is kept on 50% discount. I love the sourdough multigrain bread. There cheese cake is good too. However they don’t have a full pound size cake, just the cup cake size. It would be great if they made the full size cheese cake. Their chocolate brownies are the best I have tasted so far!! Everything is definitely expensive, but worth the price. I would recommend this place if you looking for really good quality bakery stuff.

I had been looking for french style baguette for two years now, and my quest finally got tot an end. Mabel's baguettes bring together the crustiness and the taste I was craving. All for the same price you would find for an ACE bakery's baguette in loblaws. Special mention for their delicious cakes and pastries. They also provide savory food. I am expecting the quality to be consistent but I have never tried. Even if a few tables are available, the place is a bit too crowded and small to really sit down and relax.

A very good bakery and the staff carries a very kind behavior. Although they have a large variety of freshly baked bread loaves (and small ciabattas are for dollar 1), being a rye lover I had the beer and rye bread and I carried it along during my train journey to the mountains of Quebec. It pairs well warm with butter or the nutty kind of cheese and stays good for at least three days (during winters) without refrigeration. Such an affordable healthy treat I am glad that I bought. So goooood!

The customer service here is incredible! I've been eating at this Mabel's for years now, and they've always impressed me. And now they've made the most BEAUTIFUL birthday cake for my daughter - it's spectacular! It was exactly what my daughter wanted and it absolutely made her day more special. I can highly recommend this Mabel's and will happily keep giving them as much of my business as possible! (I also recommend their sandwiches, soups, bread, cookies, cinnamon buns and more!)

Very delicious and fresh food. Service was very good and cashier was polite, except that when I brought in a $100 bill to pay two cashiers told me that we could not pay with a Canadian $100 dollar bill because they received an order from a mentor/manager that they do not accept them anymore. Why did the manager make the choice to not accept CANADIAN money? Please change this because it is very bad for people who do not have $5, 10, 20, 50 bills with them. Thank you.

Mabel's is always a treat for us. Today we bought some of their cheese, a toffee tart, cookies, a sausage roll with mustard, and pretzel buns. Their sausage roll was delicious, and not spicy, which is hard to come by. The service is always amazing and we always walk away with more goodies than we intended. Thank goodness it is just far enough away that we don't go their every week otherwise I would be eating a toffee tart a day.

I love Mabels! The bakery items are always delicious and the staff is so friendly. My only complaint would be that on Sundays (at the St Claire location) there seems to be a different crew of staff, I find they move verrrrrry slow and dont seem to pay attention to the long lines forming outside the store. I waited over 20 minutes inside to get a couple baked goods, which is painfully slow. Other than that I love this place!

Best bakery in the neighbourhood hands down. I’m frequently there for their sourdough bread but anything at all that I’ve tried here has been incredibly good: butter tarts (flakiest crust imaginable), squares and cookies (try the peanut butter rice crispy chocolate coated treat!), croissants, empanadas, bread / buns, and meat pies (frozen - a great dinner.) You can’t go wrong. And the staff there is incredible - stop on by.

Definitely a cut above the rest, specially for breads, (better than ACE) croissants? has one other tough area competitor Fleur du jour. Not in my favour, pricewise recently, as most baked stuff in Toronto seem to get away, by labeling baked breads as 'artisan' except in Europe, where it's a mandatory right for the people to get good quality bread. It's more reputation & local support than money as criteria.

I miss Montreal for one and only one thing REAL French bakery With real backer coming every morning on site at 4am to start and make real bread, viennoisserie etc The chocolatine, croissant  look the picture  not enought butter. Last picture inside the baguette not very airy The baguette totely Bowring and look like having a skin disease HA!HA! Better to laugh then crying

When I got there it looks like there weren’t many options in terms of baked goods, lots of sweets instead but wasn’t what I was looking for. Perhaps I went in a little too late and their baked goods had sold out for the day. I got a chocolate hazelnut latte which was made good. They had some unique ice creams in the freezer. Girl behind the counter was friendly.

I was in the area and wanted to check this place out. But I have to talk about Audrey, the worker that served us. She truly heightened the experience. She provided a friendly atmosphere and was just great to talk too!! We got an almond croissant and it was delicious!! I highly recommend this location and thank you again Audrey for just being a lovely person.

Tiny bakery shop in the heart of St Clair Ave W. They have quite of collections for all types of foodies! We ordered a pecan cake slice and mini cheesecake. Holy smokes, they're SO GOOD. This place also serves coffee for y'all caffeine hunters. Staff were friendly too, so that's a plus. Wear your mask in this store and no more than 4 people at once inside.

  • Annamaria

Not only is the service here top notch but any fresh baked good or prepared meal is worth every penny. I have popped in here regularly most notably for the incredible gluten free peanut butter and chocolate squares ... Oh & the croissants, the sandwiches the list goes on & on ... Have a peek if you haven't already. Well worth it!

  • Petros Bleyan

Absolutely lovely bakery! Everything we got was extremely delicious, plus the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend the danishes and their sourdough bread (they will not only cut it up for you but also give an option of packing in a paper or plastic bag ). Will definitely be coming back for more! …

Love this place!! I missed you so much during the lockdown but thrilled that you have re-opened! I can finally enjoy your scrumptious homemade goods once again. Came in today to support you with the Shop and Win contest that is running right now. It's so important, now more than ever that we support our small local businesses!

  • Marcella Agustina

Went here on a whim as I was craving for some bread. Got some chocolate croissant and the artisans bread made with spelt and honey. They cut the bread to order. Total cost was ~$10 which was quite high for bread but it was delicious so the quality justifies the cost. Will be back to try the other artisanal bread they offer...

  • Kitana L

This place has gone downhill and is trash. I bought a tart au citron, which first of all why is it French? But anyway the quality was slimy and runny pudding which not to mention it cost me a small fortune. They also made me wait days for it since they never have anything in stock anymore. Go to the metro, way better …

I take note of sustainability in business practices and love that they are on the Too Good To Go app to ensure less food waste. You can tell that the company cares about sustainability, for example, the labels asking customers to return glass parfait jars for reuse is awesome. Quality of food is a huge bonus!

Really good tasty rich tasting beef empanadas. I put it in my toaster oven and it hot and savoury. I'll need to pick up a bunch of those next time. The peanut butter rice crispy wedge was really good also, it was a soft chewy texture which is my favourite. Can't wait to try an abundance of things there

  • Rishabh Bardia

I was recommended an over sweet pastry by the guy even after I specifically asked for a less sweet one. He then refused to offer any explanation or apology and asked to throw it in compost. Refused to let me first taste the bread to see if it was any good before I bought it. The bread at best was bad.

  • Jubilee Pridham

A very delicious neighbourhood bakery!! They make juicy beef empanadas + chimichurri dip that are both to die for…plus so much more. The staff are always super helpful & lovely - and the Latino music gives it the uplifting vibe that we all need right now/forever!! This place is a Queen West staple!!

  • Sam

Went to this bakery for the first time today. Bought a brownie, cherry Danish and a Sausage roll. The Brownie and Danish were an absolute masterclass! Never had anything taste so good. Sausage roll was good too. These guys have some serious magic going on! Definitely returning to this bakery soon.

One of the best mochas I've had. Not too sweet and fluffy and thick at the same time! And their almond croissant was just fantastic!

These people are great. Friendly. Helpful. Tasty treats. Love the bread. Even their bagels are good (i prefer these ropier Montreal style than the doughy thick ones you get elsewhere). I stopped buying bread at farm boy because they forgot how to bake bread. Glad to discover Mabel’s.

  • Stephanie Ta

Tons of amazing treats to choose from! The staff are always so incredibly friendly ☺️ It's difficult to pick a favorite menu item but their fresh baked breads are always a top tier recommendation. If you are in the area, please stop by I promise you won't be disappointed!

  • Elena

The idea behind this place is awesome, but their sweets are excessively sweet. I also had a flourless chocolate cake that tasted like Windex. I guess they spray Windex on food when they clean the displays. Service is rushed. Lots of products displayed with no price tag.

  • Kevin Jensen

Good wholesome food for shopping local. I bought a sandwich which they offered to warm up, sounds good. However they then wrapped the sandwich in waxpaper which melted to the sandwich. Still able to peel the paper off the sandwich but not a pleasant thing to do.

Excellent danishes and gingerbread cookies, a bit pricey but very high quality

This is one of the best bakeries in Toronto. I needed some simple rustic white bread, something that most bakeries in Toronto can't get right, but was pleasantly surprised to find Mabel's can. Excellent quality, and while I usually make it

  • C B.

While the food might be delicious, the attitude of the staff here can leave a foul taste in your mouth. I live in the neighbourhood, and have been here countless times. Honestly, the staff just act like there's somewhere else they'd rather

  • Christine Nichols

Great bread. Typically pick up several loaves for family every couple weeks. St. Clair staff doesn't know how to put cream cheese on a bagel Sunday morning. Other locations off a more generous spread. Big deal to us pregnant folks! Cheers

  • Zenia Peterson

I have yet to sample any delectable from my favourite neighbourhood bakery that has disappointed me. I can't remember exactly when the Rushton Rd. / St. Clair West location opened, ( maybe 4years ago? ), but they have become my favourite

  • allan charles scudder

I got a toffee tart. Much like a butter tart. But I want taste lard in the pastry and some butter in the filling. Didn’t get any of that. Must be made with vegetable shortening I would pay more for better ingredients. …

  • Jackie Man

One of my go to bakeries when I'm in the area. I love their baguettes and breads. Their baked goods are pretty yummy too. They run out pretty quick so go early to get to pick the items you want to try. The staff is lovely.

  • Catherine Chan

Their beef empanadas are TO DIE FOR but tbh everything here is delicious. Had amazing help from the young lady this afternoon, she made some great recommendations. Happily walked out with more than just the empanadas.

  • Adriana Carpanzano (awadri)

The customer service here was so kind and welcoming. The shop has a homey and cute atmosphere! One of my favourite local bakeries just up the street from my place! Delicious foods and fresh baked breads!

  • M Matsu M

Excellent home baked goods made with quality ingredients. Super helpful staff. Mabel's always pull through when I've realized I have to take something somewhere & I don't know what.

I went this morning with my friend for breakfast. Actually this place it's my favorite especially the bagel! Well I had bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Also I asked for

  • Alice L

I love Mabel’s - everything I get from there is so good! They’re fast, friendly & efficient. Bread can sell out quick so go earlier in the day if that’s what you’re looking for!

  • Dave

Coffee was good. Croissant was ok; could have more filling and be fresher. Lots of nice bread and pastry options. The egg thing is really good! Friendly staff. Quick service.

  • Aria Brooking

Treats their staff horribly, I don’t recommend going here for atmosphere. Food is ok, but incredibly overpriced.

Delicious bread and treats! Lines can get quite long so make sure to go early. Everything is well worth the cost. Ginger cookies are my favourite.

  • Tea Bee

The sour dough bread is pretty good. It has a strong smell, but the flavour is mild and tasty.

  • Max Volkov

Outstanding sourdough bread very consistently. Kudos!

  • Tania Grigorieva

Delicious dark chocolate not too sweet cake.
