"This is a great park with lots going on - sports of many types and much room for walking including walking your dog"
"This park holds so many memories its such a good park"
"Football, Netball, Baseball, and cricket are all played in this park during the week and on the weekend so it is always busy"
"LARGE AND GREEN BUT VERY BUSY MacLeay Park is nestled within the North Balwyn residential streets and is a good place for kids to run (or bike) around"
"Excellent park with a great playground"
This is a great park with lots going on - sports of many types and much room for walking including walking your dog. But the best is at the end of the year - the community event Carols in the Park organised by the Churches of North Balwyn. This year it is on Saturday 13th December and will feature Boroondara Brass and the Choir Chime, great family time from 6pm, A picnic, Sausage sizzle, pancakes, Popcorn, Icecreans, face painting and lots more. Carols start at 7:30pm and end with the Hallelujah Chorus and Fireworks. Santa, local stunt rider Dave Russell, should call by on his Suzuki Sleigh flying over 6 cars. Last year over 5000 will be present. Parking will be tight so if you can walk to it please do. But have fun! But if you are walking your dog keep it under your control. If you can't have full control off lead then walk it on lead. By being under full control it must respond immediately when called even when most distracted.
This park holds so many memories its such a good park. Many doggies i can chase with maddy so the dogs are a 10/10 ( expect the ones that attacked us lol). always go here with friends and we have a good time and spill all the gossip which is fun. i also dont like the weird swooping birds trying to kill me and maddy. one of bad experiences at this park is when SWAS decided to DROP the MCDONALDS he had gotten for us. sad. theres not that many creepy stalkers so thats also good. I dont like that the trees are FILLED with spiders bc they can kill u. not any HUGE spiders yet like at leigh park. overall great park : D
Football, Netball, Baseball, and cricket are all played in this park during the week and on the weekend so it is always busy. Has a nice walking track around its perimeter which is used by lots of people in the mornings for exercise. The playground is suitable for children up to 10-12 years old and it has a climbing net, swing, sea-saw, and climbing tower/slide. It has an electric barbeque (free) and a few tables for a picnic but not a lot of shade near the tables. The tables are a bit close to the road so are a little noisy at times. Nice Clean Park. Recommend it.
LARGE AND GREEN BUT VERY BUSY MacLeay Park is nestled within the North Balwyn residential streets and is a good place for kids to run (or bike) around. It is largely sports fields rather than a park so expect large lawn ovals rather than heavily treed areas. It gets very busy on weekends as the local kids descend on their bikes to take advantage of the large asphalt area. Access to the park is available from a number of streets and there is parking available within the park grounds
Excellent park with a great playground. Near the playground you’ll find ample parking, shady trees, park benches, picnic tables, bbq’s, and a water drinking fountain. The playground itself looks well maintained, and there is brand new mulch/tan-bark at the moment. Playground has: - flying fox - two separate sets of swings - mini trampoline - playground equipment for kids of all ages
The car park is a bit of a dust bowl. When the wind blows it's really dusty - even near the playground. Hate to think what it's like on a rainy day. The playground itself is pretty good. There's a flying fox that's always popular. Couldn't find any public toilets near the playground. The netball courts were full of kids on bicycles and scooters - saw a few collisions.
It's part of a chain of parks in the area that lets you walk for kilometres. These parks are well used by people. Expect dogs being walked frequently misbehaving. Expect people playing games such as cricket, baseball, netball. On game days parking is a big issue and the place is best avoided then. During quiet times it's great to get outside and see some nature.
Always busy and great for kicking a ball around or even a scratch cricket match. The netball courts seem to be filled with kids skating and learning bike skills 90% of the time- I skate there with my 4yo and it's where he took training wheels off of his bike for the first time. It's a weekly event for us nowadays.
Very well designed park. Has a good playground and many ovals. If your planning on going there on a weekend just know that there is Saturday morning sport. It is home to 1st North Balwyn Scouts, netball, cricket, soccer and a fitness club located inside the scout hall. Is also located next to a lawn balls club.
Toilets (on adjoining Myrtle Park), bbqs and a flying fox and large rope climbing frame.. Lots of space. But the lawn is not very nice, not lush green but more bullant. More shade would be good, and more tables. Also gets very busy. The large netball courts are very popular with beginner cyclists and skaters.
Great little spot for a picnic. Playground, netball/basketball courts and a cricket pitch.
Playground
Fun little playground for all ages.
Restrooms
Didn't use them but they were easy to access.
Picnic area
Nice little spot with a bbq and some undercover/shaded areas.
Great park that was done up years ago. Excellent playground, loads of parking and heaps of shade. Electric BBQ and toilet facilities down near the cricket oval. Great hard court for riding, skating or scootering, when there's no netball. My old primary school park for cricket and footy.
Huge park with netball courts, baseball diamond, soccer and cricket pitches as well as a walking track right around it. There is a children's playground as well.
Restrooms
Located in the building between the two cricket ovals.
Dog-friendliness
Multiple off the leash areas.
A good quality community soccer pitch (the turf is probably better than AAMI park) plus public facilities. There is plenty of parking for parents. There are also netball hoops and basketball rings. Overall, a great place bring the family or just exercise.
Has a very large block of land. Because of such space it has a north balwyn scout hall, a large concrete ground area for bikes, scooters, and roller blades. It also has a magnificent playground for children AND parents because it comes with a barbecue.
This place is fun filled , spacious and very well planned. Thr netball ball courts provide and area for learning how to bike and scooter as i have done for my boys. Bring a picnic and sit near the near playgrounds under the many tree shaded areas.
Large, clean, and open park. Had a great variety of areas, like playgrounds, ovals, and courts. It can be a hassle to use the drinking fountains though (they are few and far between), so consider bringing your own water bottle.
Lovely leafy park, perfect for families with young children but also adolescents playing netball and other sports. There's also a very nice path along the perimeter of the park, where you can walk, jog and ride your bike.
How lucky are we to have this beautiful leash free park in our vicinity. Lots of bins, seating, water fountains with dog facilities, a great playground and a beautiful, tree shaded walking track thank you Boroondara.
This park has it all! Soccer fields, cricket pitches, netball courts, toilets, tourists and club rooms. The space is really well looked after and offers a great area for the community to gather and play sports.
great park. basketball/netball courts provide a safe flat surface where many kids first learn to ride their bikes. the sports fields are perfect for soccer or footy and the playground had nearby bbq facilities.
15.45 hectares of tranquility and peaceful greenery. Home to many endangered Tawny Frogmouths as well as Rose Breasted Galahs. Baseball diamonds, soccer fields, cricket nets and netball courts - it has it all.
Very clean park Recommended it to anyone who wants some kind of family picnic =D I've done a cross country there, and it was smooth throughout the whole time because of the amazingly shaped landscape! xD
Not enough parking for the amount of grounds and activity on a Saturday. No fences around soccer field so ball continually hits cars in the carpark when kicked out of bounds and slows down gameplay.
It's huge and includes a dozen odd hard courts side by side for the flat earth lovers. Couldn't see any basketball rings though, I think there's one or two much further down in the school itself.
A fantastic playground with flying fox, lots of play and climbing equipment and item areas. Lacks shade, and only one BBQ facility(?). Easy parking but gets busy when outdoor sports are on.
All rounder park. Has a green field which is great place for learning how to ride bikes and rollerblades. Clean public toilet and playground for younger kids. It also has BBQ area. Perfect.
I love this park… It has lots of cool features like the flying fox! Something that can be improved is having more pieces of playground equipment… Overall, it’s a marvellous park!!! …
Excellent park with a flying fox for the kids. Also has netball courts attached, which are heavily used in the off season for skating, roller skating and even a bit of bike riding.
Highly recommended for families with young kids
Playground
Bicycle, Scooter, Skateboard, Rollerblades, all welcome. For all ages
Restrooms
At the very end of the play
Great park. Excellent playground. Flying fox is a must. Toilets available easily. Not too much seating. Parking is a problem during school term on the weekends because of sport.
Multi purpose all year round sporting venue. Coupled with the top world ranked junior cricket team, Balwyn blasters. If you want to see upcoming sports stars...come on down!!
Nice park with plenty of parking Council has resurfaced the cricket ground recently. Very good place for a game of cricket also few nets available for practice …
Always busy. Hard to get a park as lots of sports being played. Good play park for kids. Plenty of space to run around. If you get a park, mainly on weekend mornings.
Excellent regional facility, soccer pitches, ovals, artificial turf netball and basketball, kids playground, comfortable and large pavilion and clubrooms with kiosk.
Off-lead for dogs (apart from far west end). Public toilet. It's almost all sports ovals you walk around but there's a children's playground at Belmore Rd entrance.
Nice community place.
Playground
Spacious with one public BBQ
Restrooms
Clean
Dog-friendliness
Massive park.
Picnic area
Clean and open.
Wide open space for walks, run and bike. Take my dog for runs while i ride the bike. Also a great place for kicking the footy as there are a couple of ovals there
Great park with some great equipment for the kids. Ample parking and a BBQ. I'd avoid this place when netball games are running as it becomes ridiculously busy!
Like most parks great playground and sports facilities. netball courts .and an oval . children enjoy riding bicycles on the net ball courts great for learning
There is not much to say about this place but the only thing that I really don't like about this is that the bathrooms are not open any other day but Saturday
Convenient for me to walk my dog. Children play ground is busy at times. All ovals are busy during weekends with cricket or footy. Lovely and active place.
Average sized park next to the Balwyn bowls, it's a little old but pretty fun for what it's worth. Bring some friends, or go there and play Pokemon go
This place should be called Arctic Park. It's always windy and cold. That aside, good park areas but crazy busy with soccer mum's in SUV on Saturdays
Great Park has lots of sporting fields offering netball courts, football ovals all equipped with excellent club rooms. Also offers a scout hall.
Beautiful spot to walk around the ovals and let the dogs run around in the off lead dog areas. Lots of lovely dog owners to chat to here.
Huge playground - great for kids! There's also a clean and efficient bbq that's close to the playground so good for family dayouts.
This park is very big, good playground, tables chairs bbqs and lots of different grassy areas including football oval and baseball
Cool flying fox and great place for soccer cricket and netball. Parking can be brutal when a few sports are on at the same time.
Great park. Little worn down playground. Trampoline, swings, tyre swing, flying fox slide and other standard playground things
Nice park with many ovals and basketball courts.. also great for cycling and walking and playing cricket.. fantastic park ..
A great place to take my dogs for an off leash play. I think they could extend the off lead area to all the open spaces.
My brother love coming hear to ride or scoot and go to the play ground but it would be nice to have a public bathroom
Good off lead area for walking the dog. Just be aware it gets very busy with netball and other Sports on a Saturday
Great Park, football soccer netball cricket playground facilities available. Busy many Sat mornings for netball.
Great place for the kids to ride scooters, skates or bike. Good zip line and play equipment for younger kids.
Very good lettuce available from NT here. GG always ditching the boys. Nets are decent for a slippery sesh
The toilet was absolutely disgusting. Water all over the floor, seat filthy & the smell was horrific..☹️☹️
Good facilities and overall a great place to be any afternoon, also a good place to watch the sunset.
Amazing play ground, fit for primary, and younger children, scooter, bike, valley ball, football.
Nice park with playground ovals and walking tracks. Also good for dogs with leash free areas
A great park with a solid playground! Wouldn't count on the toliets being open though...
Loved it... beautiful place to walk & take your dog! Great parking & facilities …
Great facilities, plenty of space and good walking trails around the sports grounds.
It’s not far from my house and then we take clipper greyhound for there to eat lunch
Nice play area for kids. Good place for a few kicks and hits to a ball. Has a BBQ.
My kids love riding and scooting in circles around the netball courts. Beats me.
Very good park. Playground has a good mix of equipment, including a flying fox
Soccer pitches. Club bbq, public toilets and plenty of parking. Easy to find
Great park. Lots of space and great for soccer and cricket. Dog friendly.
Two OVALS CHILDREN'S PLAY GROUND 24 HOUR TOILET PLENTY OF CAR PARKING
A park make up of football, cricket and netball fields and courts.
It's a huge park. Excellent for jogging and doing some exercise.
A great park to walk and think on the greatness of the Creator.
Here for the golf, quite although a bit rugged around the edges
One of my favourite parks so much space and it has EVERYTHING
Good for a brawl after school or the old late night drink up.
I love walking the dog around here, such a beautiful place.
Nice sport complex, full of space for running around …
Toilets were unclean, however oval was alright, bit muddy.
Great play areas for kids! Good job Boroondara council!
Lovely wide parks & games areas, with parking on-site
Nice to play sports on but it should have goal posts.
Very nice park, lots of trees and recreational areas
Large soccer grounds but need a lot of improvement
Great place to bring your pets for a healthy run.
This park has great facilities, and is good fun
Great park that keeps kids entertained for ages
Great open park area with heaps of facilities..
Wide open spaces to kick a ball or chase a dog.
Great for kids' sport, but not enough parking.
Good park there is toilets at distance to walk
not safe at all and the equipment is terrible
It's a park. It does what it says on the box
Fantastic place to exercise or stroll around
