Best plastic model and RC Car shop I have run across in a very long time. Prices are quite reasonable and the selection is outstanding. They have literally every type of kit made and huge supply of specialized tools, paints, glues, etc. I found them last year before Covid-19 and so glad I did as I consider this an essential service so I don't go stark raving mad during the pandemic. Back building heavy truck models after a 30 plus year hiatus. The owners are very pleasant, super knowledegable and very helpful. No question is beyond them and you can tell they genuinely love helping. You can tell that they know that there is nothing in their store that anyone NEEDS, but lots that people WANT. Best kind of business to have in my view, so long as you are into supporting customers and they are. Owners are doing a good job on limiting # of shoppers, and they are wearing masks etc. A lot better solution in my view than some stores that expect you to know exactly what you want and retrieve it for you.

I have nothing but good things to say about this store. Being in my mid 30's I used to always drive by this store with my parents but never went in. Fast forward to today, I started to get into Gundam and started dabbling in perfecting the art of Gunpla. I didn't know what to expect when walking into this store because it's HUGE and was lost at first but because things are quite organized I was able to find things easily. The owners were quick to help with any questions as well. I now bring my two sons here and they love it, it's like a candy store for all ages. I have been coming here every week to pick up new kits, tools or paint. Due to the level of service and appreciation for this place I have spent wayyyy too much money here in a short period of time. NO REGRETS! thank you for being such a great store and please don't go anywhere!!

This shop was a surprise discovery. For some reason, I had the notion that this hobby shop mostly dealt with RC cars & planes. They certainly do RC but my interest was in scale models. Specifically armour. They have a large selection of model kits - aircraft, automotive, ships, sci-fi... but most impressive is their armour selection. It was the entire east wall of the shop! Plenty to help satisfy my interest in 1/35 armour! Their modelling supplies are also extensive. I just recently resurrected my kit building hobby and needed to update all my small tools & supplies. Their prices are fairly reasonable and the staff is helpful & friendly. Recommended. They've become my favourite hobby shop.

I am new to the remote control world. I’ve always wanted an RC car so decided to go to a few hobby stores. I didn’t like the first few I went to the staff were not too friendly then I ended up at magic box. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. They didn’t have the car I was looking for however they said they would put me on a waiting list. About a month later they called me and said the car was in. When I went to pick it up they were very helpful explaining what I need to do etc. I took it out today for the first time and had a blast. I recommend this hobby store to anyone looking for a friendly helpful service at a great price. By the way they were cheaper than Amazon. Dave

This weekend was the first time I have been at the Magic Box hobby shop. (Last time I was there was when I lived in Kerrisdale 20 years ago). What a great hobby shop - the owners were so nice and knowledgeable. I just got back into RC cars with my son and had got a couple of ECX cars a while back. Finding a store with good selection of ECX parts was harder. This place had the best selection of spare parts on hand for ECX cars as compared to other hobby shops so it made easy to get what I needed. The prices were fair and comparable. I certainly will go here for my next RC car purchase as I know they have a good deal of spare parts supporting the RC brands they sell.

Fantastic store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. One of the last gems. I really enjoy perusing a brick and mortar location rather than shopping online so it’s lovely to have such a great store to browse in. I drive 45 minutes just to come to this place. Hundreds of models from many different lines, and any type of paint and paint accessories you can think of. They’ll even give you a call to let you know if something is back in stock. I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favour and don’t buy your model kits online, buy them from these guys! Keep it local! Thanks Magic Box and keep up the good work.

Went here twice and I can say that it’s def up there with the best hobby stores in Canada. Of course there are upsides and downsides, one slight downside that I have is their low stock on HO scale items (mainly Standard DC) but that’s just a consequence of being a general hobby store instead of a hobby specific store so not worth knocking off a star for. On the best part of this store: the customer service is highly superior compared to its model railroading competitor Central Hobbies and slightly higher than Pacific Western Rail Systems. Would def recommend this to anyone wanting to get into a modelling hobby.

I have been to every hobby store in Greater Vancouver and Victoria and I have come to the conclusion that Magic Box Hobbies is by far the best. They have a wide selection of many brands and products to choose from, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Every time I visit Magic Box Hobbies, I can not help myself but stand in awe and wish I could spend their entire opening hours there. For me, it truly is a magical place. If I could give it 10/5 stars, I would! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

John was incredible! We wanted a specific gift for Christmas, and it was too late to order from Amazon. I searched, and found exactly what we needed at Magic Box Hobbies. Even though the store was closed; John answered my chat, and knew the inventory well enough to say that they had what I wanted. He confirmed the next day before opening, and made someone very happy at Christmas. Always try locally before going to on-line stores! Great service, and better prices.

My favourite store of any kind. A very welcoming environment for browsing the wide selection on hand including the newest release model kits, and not just the big name brands. Pricing always competitive with online retailers once exchange/shipping/duties are added so why not support a fantastic local shop instead. The full ranges of the latest model paints, tools (including airbrushes) adhesives etc. I hope they continue for many more years.

A true marvel of brick-and-mortar hobby stores. I was happy to discover it on a walk and browse the shelves, which are chock full of interesting hobby kits, materials and tools. Their collection of paint ranges is wide and well stocked too! Highly recommended. They did not appear to sell my particular hobby interests (fantasy war games like Warhammer) but I will certainly shop here for the myriad other things needed to complete my hobby.

Lots of awesome products ! Sadly they are price gougers with everything way over priced. I literally searched for items they had in stock online an compared prices as I toured the store. Almost double the price in some cases. Could not find one item that was reasonably priced. 40 min drive and I had seen enough in less the 10 min. Waste of time ! Trust me ! It’s not worth visiting. I will say this , the people were nice. 1 Star !

Definitely the best Hobby Shop in the lower mainland. They have great inventory and their prices are very competitive! Their location is in central Vancouver with easy access from Richmond and lots of parking in front. Their staff are very friendly and helpful. They were able to order me in a new Night Timber which came into the store promptly and saved me from paying shipping costs. Check them out for your hobby needs!

Awesome hobby shop. The owners are super kind and helpful and have been so for the past 15 years that I’ve been going there. Their prices are super competitive too and for the few bucks more they charge over an online shop, I’d rather give to them my money. Actually a lot of time they’re cheaper than online prices. Regardless, great shop with all the parts I’ve ever wanted.

This is the place to go for all your hobby needs. I bought a radio controlled Jeep which I had to build. They helped me find the right electronics and motor to get running. Prices are great as well. Just bought some wheels and tires to change out the stock ones. They also have many many plastic model kits, great for spending time on a rainy day.

I've known this store ever since I immigrated to Canada with my family back in 2006. I used to make lots of plastic model kits with my dad and brother back in Korea so I was very happy my family lived near this store. This store has a lot of selections for plastic model kits, Gundam pla, and RC stuff. In terms of painting, this has everything!

The owner was extremely helpful and treated my 10 year old son so nicely, helping him fix his RC car. We were purchasing something it turned out we didn't need and they could have had an easy sale and I'd never have known, but he was honest and helpful. I've since returned for further purchases because of this integrity. Greatly appreciated.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff plus good prices keep me coming back. Fantastic selection of supplies and kits. The woman who works there really knows her stuff! Whenever I'm hunting for the best deal on something MagicBox' prices seems to always beat competitors. (Even on Amazon or eBay when you factor in shipping costs.)

Went in for the first time to buy a model kit for myself and a friend, staff was phenomenally helpful and guided me to the kits I wanted as well as the basic supplies needed to build them. They also gave me a thorough run-down on how to build these models. Their advice helped me through my build and I couldn't be more satisfied

Visited the Richmond/Vancouver BC area for a weekend trip and this was the best hobby shop I visited. Friendly staff, good selection, and reasonable prices. Picked up a couple of gunpla that I could not find anywhere else in the western Washington area here in the USA. This place is worth a visit if you are in the area!

Today when I pick up a kit as a gift for my friend’s birthday, they show me to another kit that should be identical but with different packing (and actually look better) but most importantly the other one is on sale which is almost a third off the kit I picked up. From now on I shall be buying from them mostly.

The biggest selection of models in town. Mechas, Airplanes, Army, Cars, Star Wars +. Magic Box has an extensive selection of paints. Lots of hobby tools and gadgets. A very good section for RC fans. The store has really grown in last couple of years. The owners operate the store and are very friendly.

despite only being there for a few times (I live in Coquitlam, so it is pretty far away) I have experienced excellent services, and a wide variety of models, which I love in any store. great prices, and nice staff. although sometimes the staff could forget where something is, but I give that a pass.

I go out of my way to visit Magic Box. It is a destination that I plan my day around. When you walk into the store you will quickly realize why they named it Magic Box. Beyond that, you will get friendly and knowledgeable service that will have you coming back... Just like me.

Large selection of model kits, puzzles, etc. Owners are friendly and clearly love what they are doing. I often browse here and don’t feel the pressure to buy all the time. Free parking in the plaza. Price can be higher than other places but a lot more selection available.

It’s been 40+ years since I last had an RC Car and decided to check out the shop. They have excellent selection and good prices. I felt like a kid again. overwhelmed by choice I need to go back tomorrow to finish checking it all out.

Always have what you need or what you need they will be happy to order for you. You better make sure to keep your day free because it is impossible to leave they have so much amazing stuff and always have stuff on sale.
