Magnolia Hotel & Conference Center

Never again. I had booked , and paid for , two nights. I opted to check out very early morning on day two. The one star is due to good the receptionist . The rest of my brief stay does not qualify for any stars. Safety devise on the door did not work as half of it was gone. Internet was so weak and the IT person installed a booster VPN on phone (did not really do much) so now I am getting load of spam. The work desk lamp bulb not working. Bathroom had old soap bar in the shower - from the previous tenant. Towels were smelly and dark grey with a lot of loose threads - original colour was supposed to be white. In the evening I got stuck in the elevator with the door continuing to be opening and closing somewhere between two floors - looking at concrete wall - without moving up. Good I had a staff also going up - at least some company. I preferred to forfeit my second day payment and go elsewhere.

Ethopian Airlines provided a hotel voucher due to an extended layover time. This hotel is located in what looks like an alley! Very gloomy, unclean facility. The walls are dirty & extremely overdue for a paint job. The elevator has fingerprints all over the doors. Once up on the room floor; the hall light was flickering like we were in a horror movie!!! The room was nasty! I definitely didn't trust laying in that bed as the room had some type of bug & stains on the wall. The walls, carpet & tub was filthy! And the Magnolia hotel shuttle van has roaches in it!! We checked out immediately!! No thank you Ethopian Airlines!! You can keep the roach motel voucher. We'll gladly pay for a clean, safe & bug free hotel room!

Dirty!!! Absolutely filthy with bugs!!!

I had a guest from UK who booked for 12 days. Unfortunately, we had to travel to Gondar for 5 days and checked out for those days. We asked the hotel (the reception was not useful) manager if it is possible to make it two rooms for three days since it is already paid. The guy suggested to extend and use the room after the end booking date. I called the manager and asked if we can use the days after my guest checked out couple of days ago but against his words, he said it is not possible! The guy is welcoming but seems unprofessional with dealing with customers. I will not recommend the hotel to anyone after this. There are plenty of other good hotels with same or even better cost around there.

Never been that happy to check out of a hotel. Where do I even start. Rooms did not look or feel clean, dust everywhere and dare not look under the bed. Takes forever to get the smallest of request sorted. Had an issue with the shower and after a lot of pain ended up having to go to another room to take a shower and alas..... same issue. The nail on the coffin was when the manager asked how my stay was at checkout and I highlighted that it could have been better to which he did not even bother to respond..... I mean why ask if you dont even care.

I recently stayed at the Magnolia Hotel in Addis Ababa, and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of all the major attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend the Magnolia Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Addis Ababa.

Excellent value for the money, especially when compared to the branded hotels in the area. I had a free upgrade to a junior suite which have me a nice balcony, jacuzzi, good size bathroom and breakfast. Room service had a good choice and was inexpensive nas well. The staff were very friendly and helpful even with the few issues concerning the booking and price, but it was all sorted out pleasantly. I would recommend this as a place to stay given the price and facilities, location to the airport and other amenities.

Excellent Service. Very good and friendly staff. They would go an extra mile to make you as comfortable as possible. The hotel food is very good as well. Didn't need to go out to look for food. A nice heated pool and a big gym with a good variety of equipment. Overall I had a very good stay for 3 months, and I would definitely go back to this hotel simply because they make you feel at home.

I come here a lot and there’s one thing I’m obsessed with- their steaks. It’s amazing and I’m not even a steak person. Their rooms are nice, but like most hotels they’re not very consistent across the board. I also swim here, and the water is lukewarm. I really wish they would get a new boiler or fix it but it’s doable. This place could be great, and I really hope they can start to live up to that.

The hotel is nice but clearly unfinished. Some floors and facilities are still under construction. The room we had was very nice, but the toilet, while decent and spacious, had really lousy work done on the walls. We did decide to book another night the following week just before our return flight. Looking forward to it as the spa area should be completed by then.

Great Service. The rooms were spacious and nice and the staff was friendly and always ready to help. Will definitely recommend it for every one staying in Addis Ababa. The food was great and I tried so many varieties. The food was amazing.

Extremely friendly staffs. Extremely welcoming services. But your entire key system is from the 1980s, if you don’t fix/upgrade this, this property will always be a super8. A guest who checked out 6am because the keys don’t work.

Apparently a new hotel in town. First impression was good as I entered on a Sunday afternoon. But thereafter the nightmare began. The rooms don't have hot water and I say rooms as we were in a group of 4 and so all four rooms had the same … ተጨማሪ

The hotel is located few meters away from main road. Their conference hall facilities are good with and have high speed broadband connection. Their overall service is more or less good. However, their tea service is poor specislly snacks.

It’s a very neat hotel in a quiet environment. Well maintained facilities, cozy and comfortable bed. The staff are cheerful and charming. Don’t expect so much from the food; it’s not bad but not super nice. Overall, I love my stay here!!!

Location is great it’s at the heart of Addis but also in a quiet area staff is great and its definitely one of the best hotels I’ve been at while in Ethiopia totally worth checking out

Good price/quality ratio, but do not expect great luxury. Best things: the fitness room is very well equipped and the swimming pool is quite good. Food is average. Macchiatos are good (ask for them at breakfast)

Decent rooms, good service. However, the management should work on a more inclusive menu for the guests who aren't locals, especially the breakfast menu.

Wonderful location, right in the heart of Bole but tucked away enough to give it a peaceful atmosphere. Great food and great service. Highly recommend!

From the bus driver, to the receptionist, we received a warm welcome. The rooms were quite spacious and everything was clean and fully functional. A lovely place for a layover or on holiday.

The location is relatively good, the lobyy space is quite small to have a tea break for gathering/networking. Beside the hall is spacious with good lighting. A good place it is. ተጨማሪ

Beautiful ambiance and extremely helpful staff won't mind coming back for a few days

Excellent room service and delicious food! The spa is beautiful and relaxing, and the gym has everything you need. Will definitely be coming back. ተጨማሪ

One can see it was a great Hotel but now it needs some maintenance. Staff is great though.
