We heard a new Filipino restaurant newly opened in Mississauga so we decided to check it out. This restaurant replaced another Filipino restaurant called Ellens Place which was sold and now called Maharlika. When we arrived the place was locked even though the website said they are open. There was also a sign at the door that says open. We were told by the store beside it to use the side door but when we checked it was also locked. I decided to call and a gentleman answered and told him we were outside the resto and we could not get in as the doors were locked. He apologized and unlocked the door for us. This was passed 1 o’clock in the pm on a Friday. Ambiance The restaurant inside felt dark and gloomy. There were rows and rows of tables and chairs for dining and on the left side as you enter is a makeshift stage when they have shows and Karioke night which I learned happen every weekends. There were no windows anywhere and the coloured lighting on the ceiling in my opinion made the place darker and depressing. Food We ordered Kare kare based on the 5 star review, crispy Pata, Sisig bangus, 2 servings of white rice and for dessert Halo halo. The Kare Kare when it arrived was a disappointment. The peanut sauce was coagulated which tells me that it was not newly cooked that day but was leftover previously. There were two pieces of cut up egg plant, 1 pc bokchoy and 3 strips of small green beans. Despite this it was tasty even though the presentation was not appetizing. Crispy Pata It was well cooked and crunchy and we liked it Sisig Bangus A disappointment as well for it lacks flavour making it bland and not what one would expect expect in a sisig. Despite it supposedly being boneless there were still few bones that we found. At least they were small and not the large bones. Halo Halo The serving of ice was huge but that’s where it ends. There was not enough ingredients that make the Halo Halo tastier The kaong was so tough and chewy you cant even enjoy it. The ice was very rough and felt like you are chewing endless chunks of ice in your mouth. It was also lacking in milk and could not even mix it as it was very dry. I had to ask for extra milk to be able to mix it. The bill came to $85 plus incl. taxes and gratuity for two people. I personally think it is pricey and not worth it based on our experience. Would we return and eat here again? That would be a hard no! First impression to me is very important and our experience was not a good one unfortunately.

I am so disappointed by my experience with this place. I was there last night (Friday, Dec 15) for a Christmas party and the food my family pre-ordered never came! Around 30 minutes after we had been seated at the restaurant, the waiter asked us if we wanted our pre-ordered food to be served already. We told them "not yet" because most of the people in our reservation hadn't arrived yet. An hour later, most of our friends had arrived, so we asked the waiter to bring our pre-ordered food. We thought they would bring us our food quickly, since we pre-ordered. But we were so wrong - it took them around 1 hr and 30 mins to finish bringing out all our friends' pre-ordered food! But the food my family pre-ordered never came, even after 2 and a half hours! Even our friends who didn't pre-order and just ordered at the restaurant, got their food faster than those who did pre-order! What is the point of pre-ordering food if it either never arrives or if it's served much slower than food that is ordered in the restaurant?

We went to this restaurant and ordered the all day breakfast sisigsilog (minced pork, fried garlic rice and egg), liemposilog (crispy pork belly, fried garlic rice and egg), and daingsilog (fried marinated milkfish, fried garlic rice and egg) and pancit canton (noodles). We really enjoyed the food, so tasteful and delicious. The portions are really good and the price is so reasonable. Jerome who was the server and the cook the day we went provided excellent service. We were told that they have live bands Friday and Saturday and an acoustic player every other Thursday that we are thinking of going back not only to try their other delicious food in the menu but to enjoy some live music as well.

I absolutely love this place! “One-of-a-kind vibe”… The owners puts a lot of love into the place. They are incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. The food is really fantastic, excellent menu options, servings were well presented, seasoned perfectly. There is an artistic spot which is the LED “wings on the wall”. The venue becomes a dance club on the weekends, with unique and groovy remixed tunes crafted by the DJ. Karaoke is always fun every Friday with the amazing hosts and Live Band on the Saturday are absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is upbeat, social and entertaining. The service is always outstanding. Highly recommend!

Read all the excellent reviews about the place and all the foods. I placed an order of three dishes and took awhile for the restaurant to confirm my order. After awhile, I got ahold of the SkipTheDishes help centre and I asked what is taking too long for my order to be confirmed by the restaurant. My order was cancelled by the restaurant. I was told by the help centre that the restaurant is offline and not accepting orders at the moment(restaurant was online when I placed the order in and got cancelled by the restaurant a few minutes later). I got skip credits for the cost of the food. Very disappointed on the service I got.

Came here for the first time for lunch having never tried Filipino food before and it was a great experience. The staff is so kind and the chef came out and talked to us after and his passion itself makes me for sure to come back and try other dishes. We tried the Crispy Pata which was really crispy on the outside and moist on the inside as well as the tapsilog which was my favourite. They have a live band Friday and Saturday night which is when they get really busy I would definitely check that out as well I believe it has a small cover charge for those nights!

Food is not good. Yung sinangag is yesterday's rice. I would know, I eat it everyday. Not worth the price. Live band doesn't start on time. I messaged to ask if show was free and was told yes, then you are there, they charge you a band fee. A dishonest business. Music was super loud as well. You can't have any conversation with your friends. They auto charge the tip which is appalling behavior. Say no and tip your server cash. I don't think your server get their tips. I will never come back. I do not recommend.

Food here is good and they do sisig well. However, service during lunch hour is atrocious - slow and they mostly ignore you unless you are a Filipino. Also, coffee is not good. Tipping at 15% also mandatory even if you have a small group. The restaurant itself is okay (clean) but tables are small unless they seat you on the circular ones.

The servers at this restaurant are very friendly and hospitable, we ordered the tapsilog (fried beef with garlic fried rice and egg) and grilled pork with boiled eggplant on the side. The vinegar sauce was very good as well as the food of course. This place also has a bar and they usually have live shows every Saturday. The price is okay. They also do pick-up and deliveries. Will definitely come back and try their karaoke.

One of the best crispy fry pork I have...very friendly staff. This Filipino Resto Bar is a hidden gem. They have delicious food wide range of menu selections so far best sisigs I had in the GTA area. Very friendly owner and staffs. They know how to entertain guests and we had a blast. Definitely will be coming back. Highly recommend and worth visiting regularly.

Great atmosphere, nice servers, now i like filipino food! The bands on the weekends plays good music crowd enjoyed dancing singing with the band. This is my go to for food and entertainment! Service is really slow and it took them more than an hour just to serve the food and they weren't even able to serve all of the food, even just water we had to ask more than once to have our water. We got at Maharlikas almost closing time, family run business and very accommodating. We tried the chicken arroz caldo and tokwa't baboy - BEST EVER COMBINATION. My Mummy & Daddy brought me to Maharlikas one night. They had dinner there. They said the food was yummy and the place is nice! I thought it smelled delicious. Of course I was happy too - because I was allowed inside and I also get to play with some kids. Highly recommended! A must visit restaurant.

Maharlika Resto bar is the best Pinoy Bar in Mississauga every Saturday has the Best lively Band plus they have dancing after Set- best entertainment. i love their Bagus Sisig and their Tokwat Baboy. Its my 2nd consecutive saturday and it was FUN.

Great service! We were greeted by friendly and attentive servers. We had a great experience, enhanced by the live band who were great musicians and had great audience engagement! Foods and drinks were served pretty fast and overall had a very welcoming atmosphere, great for casual night outs!

Sisig, ginataang sitaw veggies and the crispy pata were very good and flavourful. Quantity for each dish was more than what we expected. We hope the consistency will be maintained. We look forward to trying the other dishes, and to check out the band the next time we come back.
