"We had a late lunch here on a Friday afternoon after the peak"
"First time at mam mam and menu was very targeted and specialised, it’s a good thing as the food was good!! Nothing is worse than a menu with too many options and all cooked mediocre The bun cha was very authentic and flavourful, very much like the one I tried in Hanoi, the deep fried barramundi noodles was also nice as it had a dill freshness to the dish and no middy Barra smell"
"Mam mam is more northern vietnamese dishes"
"Had bun cha ($16) and fried spring roll ($8) that was recommended when ordering"
"Had Bánh Đa Cua and Bún cá thì là (fish noodle)"
We had a late lunch here on a Friday afternoon after the peak. There was plenty of seating when we arrived, but a lot of tables cycled through while we were there. We had the bun cha ha noi, which was excellent and highly recommended. This is a family business and by the number of staff working clearly a popular one. The dish is $18, but we paid $20 to add a deep-fried pork spring roll. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I enjoyed the decor and the hustle and bustle of the place. It reminded me fondly of my first bun cha in Hanoi when I was there last week. I'll definitely go back and highly recommend it.

Parking
We parked around the corner opposite the Bankstown Sports Club. It is a two hour council owned free parking station unless you get a ticket for exceeding the two hours. Street parking is always at a premium but does cycle through fairly quickly. There is also some free parking behind Chapel Street, which I think is railway parking.
First time at mam mam and menu was very targeted and specialised, it’s a good thing as the food was good!! Nothing is worse than a menu with too many options and all cooked mediocre The bun cha was very authentic and flavourful, very much like the one I tried in Hanoi, the deep fried barramundi noodles was also nice as it had a dill freshness to the dish and no middy Barra smell. The dried noodles was also a delight with offals as the main protein. The only reason it did not get the last star from me was because they ran out of 2 popular noodle soups and given a small menu, meant very limited choices.
Mam mam is more northern vietnamese dishes. Their menu is limited but each dish is very well make. We like bún riêu and normally have bún riêu but they no longer offer bún riêu and bún chả cua on Sunday :(... I have ordered the bún chả Hà Nội - the grill is in front of you, freshness from the greens. I have bún chả in Hà Nội few years ago and mam mam makes it well. my husband got hủ tiểu nam vang (great with lots of pork liver/lungs) this time.

Had bun cha ($16) and fried spring roll ($8) that was recommended when ordering. Formed a line besides sugar cane place. The venue is slightly hidden from the street. Most customers appeared to be local. Cool vibe but it's quite tiny. I found locals having other noddle dishes - keen to revisit and try those. Overall a positive experience.

Had Bánh Đa Cua and Bún cá thì là (fish noodle). Bánh đa cua is a bit salty for us. Prefer the other dish because it has a bit of sour taste as well. I ordered extra chả cốm but it isn’t that good.

We tried this place tonight for dinner and were very surprised. Food came out in reasonable time, service ok, staff friendly and food was very tasty. We had the grilled pork and meatball dish with vermicelli and the pork and prawn spring rolls. Very satisfied family tonight!

Great little gem in Bankstown serving up northern Vietnamese cuisine. Came here as a party of 3 for lunch and ordered the hu tieu, bun cha and some cha gio to share. All dishes were fresh and absolutely delicious! Would definitely come back however just be warned that you may need to wait for a table (it is worth the wait!)
The portion size was generous and I really enjoyed eating Def. coming back :)
