0 out of 0 Stars! but can't post it to be published. Dined out with 8 guests Saturday 4/9/2021. Not good value. Expensive dine in menu for a Chinese Restaurant when compared to others. Portion sizes extremely small and not enough to share around. Steamed dim sims were doughy and tasted peculiar, chicken satay was more like onion satay, little chicken, rendang was nothing like it should have been, over powered with cardomon, chicken sweet corn soup was nothing special to write home about, honey garlic spare ribs tiny and smaller than my pinky finger, pad thai had 2 prawns and all noodles, the list goes on. Total bill was over $210 averaging $26 per head and no alcohol. Could have really done with a stiff drink after the disappointment. Ended up at Macka's. Restaurant excuse was regular cook not in that evening, but why is that my problem??? Not one of my guest will go back there and more than likely a poor recommendation to all their friends. Worst service ever. Slow to take orders, slow for food to arrive, slow to clear, just slow slow slow. Extremely inattentive staff. Had to go to counter to ask about coffee and dessert because 20+ minutes after finishing mains we were still waiting for the table to be cleared. Food was bland and salty and less than average. Ingredients were nice and fresh but the sauces were just not right. Tables poorly arranged too close together so the waitress had to lean over us to serve the other side, shoving plates/cups in our faces as she did so. This was our 3rd visit, not our choice of restaurant, and the last 2 times were no better. For some reason the people we went with like it even though they admit the service is always rubbish. If they want to go there again I will be unavailable that night, this was the last time. 3 strikes...

Maybe it was an off night as we had dined in previously but decided on takeaway this time. It was very very disappointing - the special fried rice was mainly rice with 1 small prawn and a tiny bit of chicken. The mixed entree - spring rolls satay beef skewers were mixed together in the container resulting in the spring rolls being very limp rather than crispy. The combination sweet and sour was more veg than anything else with very little chicken / pork. The Mongolian beef again had lots of veg and sauce but the beef was chewy and unpleasant . My husband said he ordered curried prawns but brought home a curried veg dish which had rice mixed in with the veg . Very dissatisfied!!!!

Shhh, can you keep a secret??? This restaurant is an absolute gem. Management and staff are extremely friendly and eager to serve, they make you feel really welcome even when they are busy. Once seated it was less than 10 minutes before the waitress came to take our order. We ordered a $40pp banquet for 4 and we didnt have to wait long for our first course to come, even though the restaurant was full. All of the food was absolutely delicious and each dish was a generous serve. We left feeling quite full. Have visited this restaurant before and will do again. Strongly recomnend a visit. PS. This is a smallish restaurant so reservations are s must. They also do takeaway and this is in a seperate section with a side entrance at the rear of the building.

Went here for a large family dinner booking, with people coming from as far as Clare and Blackwood. We certainly were not disappointed. First thing that stood out was the nice welcome, and excellent service, straight onto out drinks, made sure we were comfortable without being all over us. Waitresses were just fantastic. Secondly the food was magnificent, we had certain dietary requirements which were all met, and ever single plate on the table was emptied. Wife got a chilli stir fry, wow, awesome heat, well done. Wouldn’t hesitate to return to this place. Obviously they know how to run a business. Thank you

I thought I would give this place a shot I was on my own for the night so I got some Sweet and Sour Pork and a small fried rice. Prices were reasonable, maybe a little on the expensive side. What was super disappointing though was I only got about 6-8 pieces of bite-sized pork and the rest of the container was full of vegetables… I didn’t order sweet and sour pork to get a dish that was literally 60% cauliflower and broccoli Unfortunately I can’t recommend, and I won’t be back after this The staff were lovely though, that was a good experience.

The food here is excellent and genuine quality. We often have take out and it is the same quality and portions as when we dine in. Parking can be tight if busy but you can overflow into other areas close by. Take away can get very busy on a SAT night other days of the week are fine. FRI is a good night to dine in as fairly quite (we have discovered) after 7pm. Quick and friendly service we travel pas two other Chinese restaurants to dine here that are no where near the same level as the Coin. Many thanks. Very highly Recommended. Large family groups accommodated when booking in advance.

Rang through the order, waitress read it back to me. One item was incorrect and I told her. Was advised it would be 20 mins. I waited another 30 mins when I got there. When she bought out my order, the item I corrected her on was incorrect still. Offered to get my correct item cooked, I was over it and said no. Food was flavour less. I will not be recommending or going again.

We love coming here. The hot, Spicy Prawns are delicious and the waitress always makes us feel so welcome. The restaurant is quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful meal and conversation. The prawn crackers are a favorite of our Grand daughter. One of our favourite places.

The Mandarin Coin is a well designed, elegant Chinese restaurant near Tea Tree Gully. Well known for it's excellent food, 11 of us enjoyed an outstanding meal there on Friday night. Great food, excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere made the dining experience a very special one. The food served there is much better than many Chinese restaurants which often serve food that is too sweet and bland. The food flavours served at the Mandarin Coin are unique and delicious.

One of the best asian restaurants I have ever been to, have eaten in great chinese restaurants all over the world and this is one of the best. The staff here are amazing, attentive, friendly and nothing is too much to ask. Whether it is take away or eat in the food is always superb. Comfy and cozy atmosphere brings me, my family and friends back here all the time. Bravo Mandarin Coin team, another fantastic meal will always be back.

I nice place to come for dinner on a cold winters night as it has sought of a cosy feeling about the restaurant but on the other hand the decor is probably looking abit dated. Service was pretty good, maybe a little slow but the staff were quite friendly. The menu is a descent size as they have a selection of Chinese, Cantonese and Thai food. The food was really enjoyable too, definitely recommend the duck combination

This is one of the few places I can give a 5* to in Food, Service, and atmosphere. The food is always awesome. The staff are so friendly, and there's always an atmosphere that people are enjoying themselves here. Honestly though. I don't go here enough.

Easily the worst takeaway I’ve ever had. Very expensive for a tiny amount of chicken meat and a dish overloaded with green veg. I also got a mouthful of chicken fat which I would have thought is the part u trim off and put on the bin. Not back in the pot!!! Turned me off of eating it at all. Green chicken curry and fried rice $25 in the bin.

Bought take-away last night from Mandarin Coin. Fried Rice was nice, but the Honey Chicken was terrible! SO over-cooked it made the chicken incredibly tough, and hard to chew. My husband was the only person waiting for take-away, so I don't think they were too busy to remember that the chicken was being cooked. This is the second time it has been over-cooked, we won't be back.

As always the best Chinese. Always visit when coming home from interstate, food never disappoints. Moderately pricey but overall great value given the quality.

Great little spot in the area, food was very nice. I had the Chili Beef which had plenty of kick, other dishes we ordered were Szechuan Beef, cashew Chicken, spring rolls and rice. Serving sizes were good to generous and pricing although slightly higher than usual wasn’t offensively high. We also had the ice cream with Baileys and choc almond which I highly recommend

This is our favourite eating place. Although the dining area is small/medium sized, it has an intimate feel. The food is always great and the atmosphere alive. A very popular place, so you will need to make a dinner booking especially for Fri/Sat nights. Staff sre friendly, helpful and efficient. The takeaway menu is equally as good in taste and value as eating in.

Great authentic Chinese food, family owned business very nice people well worth the visit, take away is great also ☺️

Wish this place would get their act together, Sick off spinning the roulette wheel . Tonight Chicken and sweet corn soup literally had no taste, Mongolian fillet steak was eating sweat heated up left over soup with meat in it. Special fried rice tastes bland. Its time again to give this place a miss again for the 3 rd. time

I Have been coming here for a long time and always have great food and great table service! I would 100% recommend.

The last time I had takeaway from here it was good so I went back for more last night and it was the second worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered sweet and sour pork and the veggies in it tasted like they were pickled and out of a jar. Won't be going back. The fried rice wasn't much better.

Food was excellent, but take-away is all 'pick-up' with no delivery option. Parking at busy times can mean parking next door. Quieter times, parking onsite is ok. Friendly staff, with nice set-up in dining room. Would recommend.

The food was not good. The spring rolls tasted weird and we ordered beef with cashew and vegetables. The beef were raw and not well cooked. Finally, the smell of the place was not good. The table cover and the curtains smell fried. The staff were friendly. But that is not enough

Been going to the Mandarin coin for many years but this time was disappointing. My favourite 4 treasure duck had very little duck just a few shreds, dish serves were smaller and not hot. As a sign of the times it has become more expensive as well. Not the place it used to be.

Had my first date here with my (now) husband. Their service is excellent but food is a bit pricey, expect to pay at least $60 for main meal and dessert for two. Their Mongolian lamb is very tender and tasty, the best Mongolian lamb I had. Good ambience for a first date.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Went with a group of 18 for a birthday. We had to wait a bit for food to come out but the whole table came out together which was appreciated. Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Best Chinese food we have had in Adelaide.

Was told I would like this place. They were wrong love it! We all ordered and had a banquet between us, and every dish was amazing. Only disappointing thing for me is, I was on holidays and can't eat there more often. The service was above and beyond as well.

Went here for the first time ever tonight having lived in the area for 30 years. I am saddened that I didn't visit this place sooner! Beautiful food, friendly and prompt service and meal sizes were very generous. We will be going back here for sure!

Went there on Sunday night. This is a lovely Chinese restaurant with excellent food and service. We go there often. What we also like is even if it is busy the noise level is at an acceptable level due to floor carpeting. Will be back soon.

Allow an extra 10 minutes for a phone pick up order than whatever they've told you. The satay beef entree sticks are amazing and I'm obsessed with the mixed vegetable stir fry.
