I am a senior with Parkinson’s Disease. For several years, I have been seeing a physiotherapist at MapleCare who specializes in neurological conditions and who is helping me to retain my strength, balance, and flexibility. She has an excellent understanding both of the challenges facing persons with PD and of the exercises that the latest research has demonstrated are most likely to help. She has provided exercises tailored to my specific needs and adjusts them based upon her periodic assessments of my condition. I have been very happy with the treatment, and encouragement, I have received from her. Last July, I injured my back while attempting to lift a canoe. I immediately suffered significant pain in my lower back and left leg. I went to the hospital emergency department but was given only pain killers. A subsequent doctor’s visit and X-ray indicated degenerative disk disease. The intense pain persisted and made standing, walking and sleeping very difficult. I contacted MapleCare and made an appointment with a physiotherapist specializing in orthopaedic problems. During my initial visit, she made a thorough assessment of my condition. In particular, she determined that I had likely injured my left sacroiliac joint. Thereafter, I saw her at least weekly for treatment that included traction, ultrasound, heat application, and acupuncture. I am most thankful for the care that she provided: I am no longer experiencing pains in my leg and that my back is much improved. I am mobile again, being able to walk for up to 30 minutes without any problems. In conclusion, I am pleased to recommend the knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated team at MapleCare!
I was seeking physiotherapy for an old sports injury, and after being unsuccessfully treated at one clinic that charged me $130 per session, I found MapleCare, which charges me $75. Vicki Chase is giving me excellent treatment and guidance for exercises. The bobo is healing well, such that we are now working on a second sports injury. If all goes well, I have 2 more bobos for her to help fix. I have health insurance through the federal government with SunLife, which covers the first $500 (at 80%), not the second $500, then everything after that (on an annual basis). Check your coverage and get a prescription first. Track your coverage dates (e.g., 1 year for a physio prescription), your expenditures, what your insurance covers, and claim the rest on your tax return. Don't whine if you don't do your exercises as recommended.
I did not have a great experience and would not recommend this location. While I am sure that the physio I saw is competent in her field, I found her bedside manner to be patronizing and I felt an overall lack of empathy for the real difficulties I am experiencing as if she wasn't taking my concerns seriously. I felt she was talking to me like I was a child. I was already stressed so being treated that way was a triggering experience for me. I was left alone for 15 mins of my session with a hot pad. This is something I could do at home and not something I want to pay for the experience of using. An electronic device that was used was not adequately explained to me in my opinion. Also, there is no privacy, just hospital curtains, an overall bare basics facility with no welcoming atmosphere. Will not be coming back.
Words cannot capture my appreciation for the care and attention that I received from Mona and her team during my two episodes of mind numbing lower back pains. On both occasions, I walked into her practice almost doubled over in pain and walked out feeling a lot more comfortable. The follow-ups, on both occasions, were designed really well and helped me through gradual but full recovery. I will give five stars to Maplecare on all aspects of my interaction. I have referred them to multiple people in my network and everyone of my referrals has had high praise for their empathy, attention, professionalism and accessibility.
I have been a client of MapleCare Physiotherapy for over 4 years. During those years I have benefited from the knowledge and training of their staff. I am a client because of a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and I feel that the weekly treatments have improved my flexibility, coordination and strength. My aim is to continue with my therapist Louise, as I feel that she has taken the time to understand my specific needs. I would not hesitate to recommend MapleCare’s services to anyone who requires the services of a specialized therapist. Don Bennett
I was experiencing continual knee pain that effectively made me lame (it was a repetitive strain injury that I suffered with for over two months). After my first visit, I already felt an improvement. Now, after my fourth visit, I'm almost back to normal, and it feels almost miraculous that I could be healed so quickly. I'm "back in the saddle" on my bike and enjoying being active again. Youssef is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and a very skilled physiotherapist. Thank you SO much!
A few years ago I had a stroke and 2 ruptured aneurysms, bad stuff. Last month for 3 whole weeks I was able to travel visit with my family and lie on the beach but the amazing part was, I was able to get up, with practically no effort, which was my reward for having such excellent care from the caring and hard working physio therapists, Ben, Andrew, Judy and Mona. Thank you so very much, would not have done it without you being so encouraging and supportive. Love the team,
I sought physiotherapy first at MapleCare because of a shoulder pain. Vicki was my therapist and under her guidance and doing the exercises recommended my pain was relieved. I am also a senior with two artificial knees, who likes to keep active. When last year I started experiencing pain in one of my knees, I went back to MapleCare and am being treated by Vicki again. I find both the staff and management at MapleCare very helpful and the service is very personalized
I normally do not write reviews online. But my experience at MapleCare Physiotherapy was so good that I felt I should share it. I took my wife to get physiotherapy at their Wellington Location. The physiotherapist, Mona was very knowledgeable and helpful in treating my wife. She educated us and took proper care when treating my wife. I really liked the clinic and its staff, was also very helpful. I would surely recommend this clinic.
I participated in physiotherapy at home for a many years with Mona Kalra for post Stroke Therapy and then for subsequent aches and pains with Wendy Good. I have enjoyed the flexibility of their program. The way they have been able to adapt to my neurological problems and age related issues. Their efficiency and effectiveness in improving my balance coordination has allowed me to participate more fully in my day to day activities.
The Maplecare staff have a positive, cheerful approach which makes clients and their families feel motivated and hopeful. They always involve my husband and me in setting meaningful, realistic goals and in guiding us toward reaching those goals. They continuously observe and assess each of their clients. We are very pleased that we chose Maplecare for my husband's rehabilitation after his stroke.
I have been going to various physio locations for several years for upper back pain which never quite goes away. This year I saw Andrew at Maple Care Physiotherapy. With one simple exercise Andrew was able to unlock my upper back and for the first time in many years I am now mostly pain free and working on getting pain free and back to the sports I love. I would highly recommend Andrew.
My experience thus far at MapleCare Physiotherapy (5 appointments to date) has been excellent. Mona has been a great listener (to better understand why I sought out their services) and has tailored the treatment and offered recommendations of particular exercises to best treat my symptoms. I have made significant improvements in the short time that I have been treated by Mona. Dave C
The staff are very nice and caring. Vicki is an excellent physiotherapist. I first came in for a left rotator cuff injury. After a few months of treatment, the pain was gone and I had full range of motion back. My shoulder biomechanics feel better too. However, you have to LISTEN to your physiotherapist. Do the home exercises they prescribe you, and do them properly mmm'kay?
Awesome possum place. I got addicted to Minecraft during the first part of COVID-19 lock down and did a serious number to my shoulder. I finally made the leap, cut the addiction and began rehab/Physio. Excellent service with direct billing. Accessible for wheelchairs too. And, I must say, a great support team, receptionist/admin, and family run business. Very clean place.
My husband has been treated by Mona for the last few months, after a stroke last year. Our three weekly sessions are for us a real source of energy and hope, thanks to her competence, dedication, eagerness to try new tools and above all her kindness and pleasant manners. We'll definitely miss her when the "nightmare" is completely over.
My husband put me as emergency contact so you are unable to park hear when it snowing and you need to help the person get it so we cancel the appointment the person who does the physio has called me twice a day for over a week very unprofessional I don't suggest going hear there are lots more who won't harrassment you avoid this place
Attended Maura Whittaker’s Functional and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation: Applications for Gait and Exercise course for PTs and OTs held at MapleCare Physiotherapy yesterday. The staff at MapleCare did an outstanding job of organising this practical and informative course. Looking forward to the next neuro course at MapleCare!
The care I have received has been excellent - the physiotherapist (Mona) has been very insightful in her observations and diagnosis and very helpful/on target in her prescription of exercises.I think it would have been more challenging to continue care on line had we not met in person for our initial assessment visit.
Very happy with my care and the client service of the entire team. They are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Anike has been wonderful not only in the physio side of it, but also with giving me tips about how to ease the stress on my back while working from home. Highly recommend for anyone like me with a back injury.
I've been going there for a month now for both physio and massage therapy and have been really happy with the service and care I've received. The staff is always friendly and efficient and all my appointments are on time. It's an excellent clinic and I would definitely recommend their services to anyone I know!
My experience at this clinic was rather brief but very beneficial. Mona is very knowledgeable and understands the specifics of how to best adapt an exercise to one's needs. I unfortunately did not have a chance to go to the clinic, so Mona arranged home visits instead. I highly recommend MapleCare!
I have been going to the Wellington location for close 2 years and have been seeing the physiotherapist Vicki. Her vast knowledge and experience as well as her care has been excellent. The staff is friendly and efficient. My appointments are always on time. I would definitely recommend this clinic.
So we never went hear the snow storm wouldn't let us park anywhere the person who does physio in this place has been calling mine and my wife phone everyday twice a day for a week don't call hear they will harass you if you do they must be hard up for business if they harass people like this
Very friendly people and the physiotherapist is very knowledgeable. My neck and shoulders were acting up after working from home due to Covid-19 lockdown. After a couple of months of physio, I felt better and I continue the exercise and stretching routines to help my neck and shoulders.
I found that MapleCare was a place where every patient and every problem was treated equally and with lots of care. During my time there I saw a group of highly qualified therapist who would always listen to me carefully and give clear instruction and recommendations for my recovery.
Palmer is the best PT in Ottawa. He gives his attention to entire session instead of leaving the patient on a machine after 10 minutes. He gives rehab to take home rather over visit business model. He has helped heal my back, knee, wrist twice, and abdominal injury. He is awesome.
Maplecare has been really great getting me back to normal. Palmer is very experienced and knowledgeable. The staff are great on wellington. I had Rotar cuff sugery and thanks to maplecare I am back to being painless. I would recommend them to anyone who needs physio care.
I have gone to this clinic for the past month and have received excellent care. I have been diagnosted wtih begining Parkinson"s. This therapy has helped me to measure the progress of the disease and take measures to alleviate the symptoms. I would recommend this clinic.
I have been going to MapleCare periodically for various types of pain. After every visit, the pain is significantly reduced and I feel refreshed. The therapists are very skilled, compassionate and manage to diagnose issues with great accuracy. Highly recommend.
Fantastic! Professional and knowledgeable physiotherapists. Receptionist at the Wellington location was extremely kind and very helpful. I looked forward to going to appointments because it was always a warm greeting. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Very happy with Maplecare physiotherapy's excellent service over the years. Their physiotherapists are very friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly effective in treating the patients. I would recommend it highly for getting the right treatment.
All of the staff are extremely caring. Vicki has been very knowledgable and she has given me both pain relief and guidance for further treatment that many other professionals have not been able to. Always enjoy coming here for my appointments!
Have had great help from Palmer, who has helped me alot to regain strength in my shoulder. His help has allowed me to make amazing progress since 2019, so this location deserves at least five stars for its professional staff and great service
I didn't know the MapleCare physiotherapy, but I knew my physiotherapist Vicki Chase. So I followed her for my treatment. She is an excellent physiotherapist. However the clinic also a nice, clean one. And easily accessible. It was nice to

When I arrived for my first appointment, I noticed right away that the Centre was run with the safety of the clients/patients in mind. I worked with Palmer toward recovery and felt comfortable with the plan.

I have been receiving treatment there, and I am happy with the results working with Anike. The biggest downfall is parking, be prepared to walk a block or two.
