I am always very nervous when hiring someone to do work around the house. Worried about getting ripped off and people taking shortcuts. I cannot say enough good stuff about Mapleleaf Electric Inc. First of all, we received a quote from Alex for knob and tube removal and it was the best quote we received and detailed the work that needed to be done. Alex stood by his quote and made sure the work was done properly. They team of guys (shoutouts to Thomas, Jr., Alex and Leo) arrived on time every day. Always courteous, polite with a great sense of humour. The guys were not your typical guys, they were all good people too. I've never felt more comfortable around people we've contracted. They were very respectful of our house, the property and the neighbours/tenants. They controlled the dust as much as possible in a knob & tube reno and kept the place clean. Floors were covered, furniture was covered. They were also super respectful of our furbaby too which was a big bonus. These guys worked really hard, day after day. The job was completed before schedule. I am so happy with the work they did and the new light fixtures. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend Mapleleaf Electric. They went above and beyond the scope of their jobs. I will never use another electrician. I just wish they did more then just electrical cause I'd hire them for everything!!! I left this review on HomeStars as well but I thought people should know. I asked for a quote and the person came by. I asked for multiple quotes from multiple companies. Initially it seemed to me he was ok but in retrospect I guess he was annoyed. Big or small, if he didn't want the job, he should have declined the request or asked for more info to see if it was worth his time. I did a pretty detailed write up when I sent out the requests for quotes. After I emailed him (as a courtesy) to let him know that I was going with someone else, he found the time to dig up an email from 2009 and tell me I was wasting his time. Please see attached. I have blacked out any personal info. I DO NOT recommend anyone using this guy. This may just be a one off but it shows VERY POOR CHARACTER when someone tells a Customer that you are wasting their time. UPDATE: I just received a call from Alex saying I have no right to leave a review here. I hung up. A bit of a childish move but I will concede this. I let Alex know if he can prove that he didn't send the email OR he apologizes, I will remove this review. I can provide the times and dates and a photo of my phone history if needed.
