"This is one of my favorite stop of the Metro North in the Hudson line, because is near of the 1 train, they are very close to each other, you also can find a lot of bodegas, stores, even Starbucks and more"
This place has shopping centers, such as food, eateries, barbershop businesses many more for a tiny little neighborhood go up the hill a school. In the middle of it private houses. That's the good news, but the bad news THE PROJECTS. Clean it up please beat Pelham Bay and Riverdale it has potential of all the areas of the Bronx physically this neighborhood can be the best. You cannot say that with South Bronx neighborhoods 3 projects around one another. For Example Mott Haven projects one block here one block there one after another sad. The west bronx is the same for example University Ave By Edward L. Grant Highway before entering GWB to Manhattan. Same like the south Bronx. In the case of Marble Hill from 225 to 230 cut the project of that neighborhood and make condos that neighborhood beats Pelham Bay , Riverdale , Fieldston and Country Club easily.
When you live in Inwood, you can actually walk over to this train station and take a lovely ride up the Hudson, or down to Yankee Stadium and Grand Central. In 11 minutes, you can be in downtown Yonkers. Visit the Science Barge or have a great dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants. We recently took the train up to Cold Spring, a beautiful town full of antique stores, beautifully restored buildings, and a lovely view sitting or strolling along the Hudson. Moo Ice-cream is great, but start with a meal at the very lovely historical Hudson House Inn. Cold Spring is where parts of the movie version of Hello Dolly were filmed. There are vending machines at the train station. Sitting on the platform while waiting for the train is not bad, considering the view.
Lots of stairs to walk up to street level entrance. NO elevator. Afterwards if go to nearby Subway 1 Station more stairs to climb with NO elevator there either. There are heated waiting areas: 1. Halfway down the stairs, where there are machines that sale tickets and large train time table. 2. Along track there's also an enclosed area that is headed in winter. There's also there a big board with the trains schedules/times. There are two types of trains that stop here: Local that makes every stop and partially express that takes 30 minutes to Croton Harmon Train station (local takes about 40 minutes).
Part of the MTA rail system Runs fine AFAIK. The Yonkers train station is clean and safe as that's also where the MTA police has an office. BUT since the Covid questionable policies the toilets and beautifully appointed old fashioned wood sitting banks area is closed. No staff on duty either, only ticketing machines and a soda vending machine. PS. To see how beautiful a train stop station can be, recommending the Tarrytown stop. Has a superb coffee shop ... includes a discreet stock ticker, including BTC ;) Only open during normal business hours tho.
This is one of my favorite stop of the Metro North in the Hudson line, because is near of the 1 train, they are very close to each other, you also can find a lot of bodegas, stores, even Starbucks and more. It's a very quite and peaceful stop, where you also can relax seeing the Hudson river while you are waiting for your train. This stop ends, on Poughkeepsie or Croton Harmon if you going to the north and Grand Central if you want to go to the city.
I find this station clean, efficient, and never too crowded if using any of the lines here. Much easier for uptown residents than getting to Grand Central. There’s a heated room (it’s hot!) but also outside is nicely covered and you’ve got great views of the river.
It's a very well serviced station. Trains come on the hour at the absolute latest. The tracks are periously close to the Harlem River which worries me a bit about a service interruption if there is a storm surge.
Might be the most convenient location and deadliest station during Hot Temps in the whole line! I often wonder if anyone has ever died in there while buying tickets. The rest of the year, four stars...
There are a lot of stairs but the scenery on the wait area by the tracks definitely makes up for it! It does have a urine smell and the buildings are very nice.
It's a bare minimum station consisting of one platform with 3 tracks, a ticket machine, and that's about it. A vending machine or something would be nice.
The ticket machine area often smells like urine. Other than that, it's a well-kept and convenient train station.
Small station with a connection to the subway. Be wary of trains sounding their horns as they pass through.
De estratégica ubicación conectando Manhattan con el noroeste del Bronx, pero no es una estación moderna.
They need to work on the heat system during the cold seasons and the air conditioning in the hot seasons
Kind of dirty and smells like pee, but overall the view of the Harlem River and subway makes up for it.
The ticket buying area is really dirty, but it's cool to wait for the train while watching the river.
Just as someone already said it smells of urine. And there are too many stairs to climb.
Very close to my home and it's surrounded by a multiple of shops, including Target..
Great Metro North station with very thin platforms. Always clean.
Considered as Bronx by MTA=lower fares than Manhattan like 125th.
Wonderful neighborhood, clean platform and plenty of shopping.
Rail station. Nicest than you think. Reliable.
Le gente muy amable y un lugar muy tranquilo

Dirty station but gets the job done.
