I went here about a year ago and had a root canal fixed. No issues, very great experience. While getting the root canal fixed the dentist told me I had a few small cavities I should get looked at. So I came back after about five months to get them taken care of. This time I had a different dentist. Right off the bat I had a horrible impression of him. He came into the room, gave me some freezing and then told me he’d ‘leave that to sit in for about five minutes while he chaecked on another patient’ I could hear him in the room next to mine taking xrays etc. He didn’t return for over 30 minutes. When he came back he didn’t apologize for the long wait but asked ‘is the freezing working yet?’ I was very annoyed and let him know that’s I was pretty sure it was wearing off at this point. He worked on the two cavities on my top tooth which was fine but when he moved to the bottom tooth I was in a world of pain. He froze me again, but it still hurt so I basically had to just suffer while he finished. I’ve had many cavities fixed and even root canals and I’ve never felt pain like this. But even with this awful experience I still booked another appointment to come back and get the cavity on the other side of my mouth fixed because I figured it had just been bad luck that day. The exact same thing happened on my next visit. He froze my gums and then left for about 15 minutes to attend to another patient. When he came back it immediately hurt and I left without finishing the filling. This entire experience was completely awful and enough to keep me away from the dental clinic. But the reason I’m writing this review isn’t even because of that. It’s because it’s been almost two months since I had the first fillings and I still cannot eat on that side of my mouth. I never felt pain on that side of my mouth before I went to get my fillings, I know I had cavities but I never felt them and only went because I was informed they were there. Now it hurts whenever I eat anything on that side of my mouth. So not only did my fillings hurt more than any other dental work I’ve ever done, they were obviously done wrong and now I have to make an appointment at another dental office, pay for X-rays again and figure out why my teeth are in so much pain any time I eat anything. I’m not sure which dentist I had, I don’t remember his name, but because of him I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

What an amazing experience from start to finish and it all started with the most kind helpful amazing woman WANDA. I was looking for zoom whitening as i had had it done before but not for a while and I was going away on vacation and had a few photo shoots so wanted to get my teeth pretty and white.. they were really booked but Wanda worked with me to schedule me in she was one of the sweetest people i have ever spoken to on the phone she did everything in her power to get me in before my vacation. She was friendly got back to me on time and made time. I would never have known what an amazing gem this dental center was if it wasn't for her as i would have tried to find anyone who could schedule me but it was her polite and family like nature that made me say I'm definitely going there. Once i got there the vibe in there was just amazing, everyone on staff is so friendly. Dr. Benjamin Ghotbi is a fantastic dentist.. it turned out i needed a cleaning before the zoom so i was at first disappointed thinking i would have to come back but instead they got their amazing hygenist priti shes so sweet as well and thorough to do a quick cleaning before my zoom. She was quick efficient and friendly. My zoom hygenist was amazing as well I believe her name was diane or lisa was so sweet, very knowledgeable and amazing at her job. Zoom isn't always a fun experience because of tooth sensitivity as i had known from previous but she went through the process with me and told me to let her know if there were any issues. She was with me from the beginning to the end she always checked in on me usually people make it only 2 cycles i did all 4 she told me i was brave and that its great we made the full cycle to get the best results. She mentioned what toothbrush i should be using she genuinely cared about my dental health. She was very specific about the after instructions so that i would get the best out of my zoom. As a new patient, i just was so so happy by the level of professionalism, knowledge and care at this dental clinic. Dr. Benjamin came to say goodbye to me they gave me aftercare instructions. I left with a beautiful white smile on my face and feeling like family. I have already and will continue to recommend Markham Eglinton Dental Center to everyone. Its a small little gem in Scarborough and i'm glad i found it ! Ty guys :)

Went in for the first time based on the reviews online (just like most of you would). Front desk staff were very helpful and considerate, the best part of the experience. Dr. Ghotbi was a bit... condescending. I was there for a consult and already told him I had taken x-rays previously. My panoramic x-rays were too outdated apparently (apprx. 6 months from today) and I didn't have my most recent ones with me. Maybe I should come back I thought to myself, but no he said let's take an x-ray because the panoramic x-ray isn't recent enough and it isn't the best type of x-ray to see what's going on in the tooth I was concerned about. Reluctantly I agreed, then I stopped his assistant as she put on the x-ray vest because I was thinking I should just come back again with the x-rays I took recently. She went to grab Dr. Ghotbi and I asked him what he thought just based on what he could see. He replied along the lines of "I'm the driver and you want me to go but you cut off my road." Basically this meant let me do what I do and stop interfering because you don't know what you're doing. Okay, that's one way to put it, I'm clearly just trying to express some concerns (health and financial) if I'm reluctant. So at this point I asked how much were x-rays - $28 replied his assistant. I said okay I'm here why not. She proceeded to press the x-ray button about 5 or 6 times since she was having trouble setting it up properly so the x-ray would appear on the screen. Did I just get blasted by 5 or 6 times the radiation? I have no idea, but it definitely made me feel uneasy. After all this, went to the front desk and was charged $50 for "Specific-examination and diagnosis" and $34 for "Two images-Intraoral Periapical". Would I go again? Probably not. Will you have the same experience as me? Chances are no. Are they that much better than other dentists? From the three I've seen in the past month, not really, their front desk staff is just a bit better than most. Dr. Ghotbi is an established professional, but the overall experience was the worst I've had.

This is truly a hidden gem of a dental office in Scarborough. Before going there, I read all the review on Google about various dental offices and for some reasons I knew that I wanted to try Dr. Gothbi’s dental clinic. Everyone at the office from receptionists, dentists, dental assistants were very nice and pleasant. They are very knowledgeable, competent, supportive, and helpful. They really make you feel happy to be there. I had one wisdom tooth taken out yesterday. I was terrified since I had never had one removed before. Both Dr. Ghotbi and his assistant took the time not only to explain the procedure in detail, made me feel at ease, and reassured me that I was in good hands and everything will go well. After our talk, they even allowed me to rest and take a nap until I was able to do the extraction. I have never experience something like this before. My extraction went very well and I felt no pain during the procedure and I am feeling great today. In this day of fast everything, and impersonal services It is refreshing to encounter a dental office so professional and human. I have only good things to say about this place. If you are looking like I did on Google for a dental office don’t hesitate to give them a call you will not be disappointed.

To All, I recently completed the final process in regards to my dental implant journey which began December 27th, 2012 with Implant surgery and ended with my Crown on May 17th, 2013 with Dr. Ghotbi. For anyone thinking of implant surgery, I would highly recommend it! I found the entire experience painless, easy and the results were fantastic. Dr.Ghobti began the process with a free consultation in which he describes the procedure and process in detail. His demeanor, professionalism and knowledge are second to none. You leave there feeling both educated and comfortable with your Doctor. The procedure itself was FAR easier than I expected and I was back to playing sports the next day. I was especially pleased and impressed when Dr. Ghotbi called me at home personally the day after surgery to see how I was doing (I`ve never had any Doctor do that before). Dr Ben Ghotbi is the best dentist in the world. He removed my wisdom teeth in less then 40 mins completey painless proceedure. Everyone told me it was going to be so painful cause they were impacted. It was one of the least painul proceedures I have ever done. I was convinced at that time I would never see another dentist. Since hes helped me with all my dental needs including my implant. He even called me back after hours in the emergancy that my implant fell out. He made me feel so much better as you can imagine how dumb I felt when I broke it. Hes extremely patient and very knowledgable. All the girls at both the locations he works through are so sweet and accomidating. His assistant Bona is the sweetest women she makes me feel so comfortable. The dentist has always been a very scary place for me and the both of them are such amazing team. They enjoy what they do and it shows. They are so amazing at just making their clients feel welcome. I dont ever dred going to the dentist anymore. He makes suggestions for change but never makes me feel bad. Highly reccomeded. Youll never find dental service like this anywhere else. ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!

I've been a patient here for a good year now and have constantly had to go in because of cavities. I also had my wisdom teeth surgery sometime earlier this month and let me just say that there could not have possibly been a better experience than the experience here. The dentists, dental assistants, and receptionists at Markham Eglinton are genuinely great people who put their patients first and ensure that they recieve the best care. Regarding my visit for the wisdom teeth surgery appointment, I was extremely nervous because of the process and how it would be removed. Dr. Ghotbi however, reassured that I'd be ok and I wouldn't feel a thing.... he was right LOL. I was out of it which made the surgery alot more easier. Receptionists are incredibly understanding with appointment times and in case of where there is an emergency and you cannot make it. I highly recommend this place if you have any concerns or problems with your teeth. Markham Eglinton Dental will take good care of you!! I have no complaints.

Worst dental clinic I have visited. Don't be fooled with good reviews probably from people they know or from their staff's accounts to make the place look good. No matter how you are covered with an insurance independent,work related or government. They simply do not make any effort to do some paper work to cover you from your multiple insurances or simply tell you that you are not covered by the other 1 so that you can pay them cash up front. Also they won't tell you this info ahead until and they provide service and all of a sudden they tell you that you owe this much. I called my insurance to find out they charged a lot of money for the clean of my wife and 2 kids teeth which after everything I had to only pay 80$ for balance but charged us 200$. When I confronted the dentist it got no where and would not refund back the extra instead insisted on credits for next time. My entire family stopped going to this place. Friends,family and dear ones. Great job I don't know how you have a review or 4.5.

Recently I had the first operation of my implant done by Dr. Ghotbi. It took about hour and a half. The procedure was well prepared and completed in a professional manner. After the operation Dr. Ghotbi presented me with a photo showing the implant right in place. I wouldn't say no pain at all during the operation. But the pain was so minor, much less than what I experienced in a routine teeth cleaning. I took one Tylenol 3 before the freezing was gone. I slept well and there was no need for pain killer the second day. Bleeding after operation was also minor. I had no problem chewing using the other side the second day. To my surprise I had no issue with cold water and teeth brushing. Inflation was visible though for about 5 days. In the meantime the threads dissolved themselves. By the time of my first revisit, my tongue found no difference in that spot before and after the operation. I look forward to the second procedure to complete my implant later this year.

Benj (Dr. Ghotbi) always has a smile on his face, not because he is laughing, from the shear enjoyment of what he is doing in his practice. The dental office is not overly gleaming but it is very high tech, using the latest technological tools and products. I recently lost a tooth to decay for the first time and I wanted a dentist that thoroughly understood the implant process (the old options of bridging or denture is not acceptable, far too damaging to healthy teeth) as this was my first major dental procedure. After extensive checking and review I was confident that service I would receiving would be excellent. Great care has been taken at every step of the procedure and there has been very little pain or discomfort following each procedural step. I am delighted to have Dr. Ghotbi and the friendly staff at the dental centre be my health care professionals.

One of the best Dental offices in Scarborough. Preeti did my cleaning today and she was kind, personable, and professional. She cares about you and is very skilled and dextrous. I have experienced people being very rough when cleaning, but she was gentle and thorough. Lisa was the receptionist who took my call and was also personable, patient, and helpful. She took her time to check my information and insurance and found me the fastest appointment to suit my schedule. She was caring over the phone call. Also, if you're a student with dental, I would recommend coming here; as some offices make you do all the work, Markham Eglinton Dental does all the work for you (you need to supply your information, that's all). Most, if not all, of the staff here have great customer service and I just didn't get their names. I highly recommend coming to this office if you are new to the area.

I hate dentist but he is the ONLY one I felt comfortable with. BEST service and CARE ever!! I have major dental work and have always been beyond satisfied. Yesterday I had an 8 hours surgery and it went smooth and I was for the very most part very comfortable. Felt bad he missed his lunch.. He was starving but continued to work on me. The only thing was, which is not in his control is the fitting of my temporary implant. I am far from being satisfied. But I am more than confident that he will try to the best of his ability to do something to gain my self esteem while wearing the temporary for 4-6months during my post up in a week. I too need to give it time to settle down!! . Looking for a reputable dentist?? DR Ghotbi would be your best bet and the staff is outstanding and very professional!!! You'll leave with a SMILE..

I haven't been to the dentist in a really long time, however I started going to Markham Eglinton dental centre last year due to a problem I was having related to my teeth. The dental hygienist and the dentist were able to figure out the problem was related to my wisdom tooth. So the decision was made to book an appointment to have them extract (one-sided of the mouth each having an appointment). Initially I was scared and concern however the dentist I can't remember his name and the hygienist did an amazing job that I didn't really feel any pain. I also had cavity problem that they were able to fix and gingivitis on separate occasion. I know longer fear the dentist, it what I'm trying to say. Oh and also the receptionists are kind and acknowledge your questions and concerns. Very considerate people all around.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and was freaking out because I hate needles!! Dr Ghotbi was VERY good at keeping me calm, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Him and his assistant made sure to check on me multiple times during the procedure to make sure I was doing okay. He played really great music in the background to keep my mind off the procedure. After we were all done I felt great! My experience was AMAZING!! If you need to get your teeth taken out definitely book an appointment with Dr. Ghotbi. We had a little chat after the procedure while my nitrous gas was wearing off & he mentioned that hes been in the profession for 20 years now! Amazing dental centre. Everyone from the doctors/dentists to the reception at front desk are some of the nicest and most pleasant people you will ever meet. I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out today and Dr. Ghotbi explained everything in great detail, including the science behind the extraction! They take their time here to ensure that you are getting the best treatment possible and are more than happy to answer any questions you have. They are also extremely flexible and reasonable when it comes to appointment booking. I wish every health facility in the world was this professional. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and I am truly grateful that I found them on google when I was searching for a dental office.

I had nothing but great experiences while going to see Dr. Benjamin Ghotbi. His team, which included the dental assistant Bona was incredible at explaining everything that they were doing and listening to what I had to say. I was really nervous to get my wisdom teeth taken out, but Dr. Ghotbi and his team kept me calm during the whole thing and went above and beyond in making sure I felt better. I can say without a doubt that it was one of the easiest and painless things I've ever had to do and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I can't say enough good things about this place. Very good & friendly service at the get go, the repair was done quickly but fail before I left. It was quickly repair but was rush job after and fail again the same day. The dentist that perform the repair call the next day to see if they could fix the issue. I also got a call from the owner to try to make it right. I find that they both really care to make thing right and care about their patient. I have been back multiple time since for an implant and have received a fantastic service and the quality of was fantastic from DR Ben. They have treated me and other patient extremely well every-time I have been there. Thank You Michel

Dr Ghotbi and his staff took wonderful care of me, he did a root canal and took two out two of my wisdom teeth. At first I was nervous but his staff and himself mad me feel comfortable.His office is clean and the ambiance is wonderful, music is soothing during procedure and also if you wish you can watch the news or in my case the JAYS game. The wounds healed quick during both separate procedures and the minor pain was kept to a minimum of a couple hours. After this it was back to the normal daily routine with no pain and a stronger BITE! I will recommend Markham-Eglinton Dental Office to everybody, it was a great experience.

I've been going to this dental clinic for the past three years now, and all my visits have been pleasant and pain free. I recently got all of my wisdom teeth extracted in one go, I was really scared at first, and worried about the pain. Dr. Ghotbi assured me a pain free extraction, and thats exactly what I got. I'm alsi thankful I wasn't looking like a chipmunk (because of the swelling). Dr Doust is pretty amazing too, has been doing all my fillings and regular checkups. I really recommend this place to anyone looking for the minimal pain. Thanks to the ladies at the reception too, always welcoming and calm! :)

Great dental centre with convenient hours of operations. Dr. Ghotbi is very engaging, does a good job of walking through the procedures,explaining what the issues are and how to solve it - you never feel lost and know why he's doing what. Had a procedure done recently for 4 wisdom teeth - went very well with minimal aftereffects from the operation. As a person, Dr. Ghotbi is down to earth and funny. As a dentist, he was phenomenal. I was initially very scared to have my wisdom teeth removed, but Dr. Ghotbi and his team ensured that I was in excellent hands and gave me the best experience possible. To begin I was extremely hesitant to remove my wisdom tooth which was in the worst possible angle. After cleaning my teeth and having a great experience with the hygienist pretti , I had the wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Ghothbi , who was extremely understanding in my fears , no pain what so ever was extremely comfortable and the music was a nice touch haha. Will def recommend family and friends and younger children , great experience none the less. Great reception and service as well!

The staff and environment are great, everyone is very friendly and professional, as someone who had a fear of dentist offices prior to discovering Dr. Ghotbi's practice, I can honestly say I feel comfortable when I'm there. I recently had all 4 wisdom teeth out and after following all of Dr. Ghotbi's instructions, I couldn't even feel that I had an operation done a week later. If anyone reading this is having trouble with their wisdom teeth I wholeheartedly reccomend this practice.

Dr. Ghotbi and his team are not only warm and accommodating, but competent dental professionals. Dr. Ghotbi did 2 Implants for me and the results were dramatically amazing for my smile. I would highly recommend him if you need dental implants as he is very capable and will walk you through the entire procedure, he is very knowledgeable and took his time to explain everything to me. Had a great experience here. Got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, and I didn't feel any of it. Dr. Ben even gave me a juice box before the procedure because I was a little nervous and clammy. He was done within about an hour, and did such a good job that I hadn't even realized he was done. I didn't feel any pain for the following week, and didn't even need to take the pain killers. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking to get their wisdom teeth removed.

My whole family has been going to this clinic for years and I would never go anywhere else. I was really afraid of getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed but Dr. Gothbi was comforting and did it within minutes, it wasn’t bad at all. He knows what he is doing, I really recommend him! I’m 17 and recently I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed at once at this clinic. The procedure went by smoothly and quickly. There was barely any pain after the procedure, I felt some minor pain that night but once I took the meds prescribed the pain was gone almost instantly. I was able to fully recover within a couple of days. If you are looking to get your wisdom teeth removed I would totally recommend this clinic :)

My visit today was great. I had to get two of my wisdom teeth removed and I was so nervous but the dentist and his assistants made me feel comfortable. He was very forth coming with possible outcomes and he gave me written detailed instructions on what to do over the next few weeks. I have a follow up appointment next week. Not looking forward to the pain I might put up but all in all this was a great visit.

Dr. Ghotbi is a wonderful dentist. I’ve had bad experiences with many other dentists however, his techniques and gentleness really goes a long way. He removed my wisdom teeth, I did not have any swelling of my cheeks because he prescribed the proper medications to avoid any complications. I have moved to another city and I still travel to come back to this clinic. 12/10 best dental office thus far.

Had to wait 2 hours from when my appointment was scheduled. The dentist did not introduce himself and that is not professional. Plus it was very expensive, go to someplace cheaper and where the staff actually values your time. The reason he has a lot of 5 stars is that they literally make you write a review in front of them and press 5 stars. Unprofessional, do not recommend.

I was recommended by a friend to get my wisdom teeth removal done at this clinic by Dr. Benjamin and I had such an amazing experience. The nurse laid out the procedure to me very clearly and when I was feeling nervous the team provided me comfort by sharing stories. Amazing service! I got my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Ghotbi and experienced no post operative pain or discomfort. I had my wisdom tooth extracted in March of this year. They understood the scope of the work very well and followed through with several preventative tips and suggestions. The extraction process itself went pretty smoothly as Dr. Benjamin Ghotbi oversaw it with utmost care, skill and professionalism. The office environment was very calm and the staff were very friendly.

I have used services at Markham & Eglinton Dental pre covid and during covid. The office has always been clean, the staff is professional and courteous and knowledgeable Dr.Ghotbi is amazing!. My teeth have never felt so sensitive after visiting this clinic. Also, they take forever to see you. On average I wait an 40 mins- 1 hour to be seen after my scheduled time. Like the other user, the dentist does see other patients while you spend up to 20-30 mins in the chair. I dont know how they get good reviews. Dont believe me, try them out for yourself.

It was my first tooth extraction experience, and my first time at this clinic, I have to say I am extremely surprised of how at ease the staff made me feel, not to mention Dr Ghotbi is expert in what he does, I did not feel a thing and it was over in 5 minutes. Went here for my wisdom teeth extraction and I must say the entire experience was very efficient and pleasant. Dr. Ghothi and Bona were amazing!!! This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The team was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority. I had to do extraction and Doctor and his DA.Sarah did a great job, I felt that I was in good hands. All the people here were very gentle and kind to me. They explained very well what was going on. Be prepared to wait up to fourty minutes while ‘the freezing kicks in’ because they’ve double booked two patients during the same time slot and are taking care of someone else leaving you to wait. @ the owner who responded to this review I don’t always put my real name on reviews. Because of bad experiences with a dentist as a child, I have been terrified to go to dentists. I wish I had heard of this clinic years ago, it would have saved me a lot of anguish. I can be put to a level of sleep where I'm not in any discomfort, but I am still aware of what's going on, which means a lot to me. And the staff is amazing!

Dr. Ghotbi and his team are not only warm and accommodating,but competent dental professionals. I would highly recommend him if you need dental implants as he is very capable and will walk you through the entire procedure. I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed 2 days back by Dr. Gothbi. Before getting the operation I was very much scared thinking about my post operation state but I recovered within a day. I've never felt so comfortable at the dentist. He does great work, there was barely any post op pain at all after getting my implant. Despite me being terrified by dental surgery he actually convinced me to go through with it without laughing gas (something i never would have considered before). No regrets, I had a great experience.
