There is some parking on Victory Boulevard and on Markham Avenue. The playground is a mid-sized thing that's a cut above your average, little suburban thing. There are open areas for recreation and a Cricket club. There's a public toilet near the playground. What I like most about this (as someone who predominantly heads to parks to explore/walk) is that the Gardiner's creek trail at the back (with the Golf Course beside it for some of the way on the other side of the creek to the trail) is quiet and a pretty enough walk. It's not really obvious on the map, but if you check out my photos, you'll see what I mean. There is also an off-leash area (according to the map) somewhere between the playground and the Cricket oval.

One of the best playgrounds in town. My kids love going here - so many different play equipment and places to run around. They love riding their bikes around the park as well. Wonderful family friendly environment with seating and BBQ facilities - though you need to go there early and hog it. Love the fact that they have toilets there too as not a lot of parks have them and it can be tricky when your little one needs to go quick !! They just need to put more sunshade and some more seats around the place, as it can be quite hot in summer and it does get quite busy too. Otherwise love the playground and so great to see such wonderful facilities in Ashburton !

Great place and comfortable with plenty of equipment for kids. The skate park is great too. Biggest downfall however is that there's only two bbq hot plates and one undercover seating area. On peak times it's impossible to cater to all families, our last experience we got verbally abused by other parents. Everyone should write to boorondarra council to request more seating facilities, more bbq hot plates and better hygiene of the toilets. Also to book in advance as many other councils do to not cause the rat race to get in and get abuse

Excellent large and varied playground. The entire area is fenced (and no dogs inside!) With toilets available outside. Play equipment includes sandpit, multiple swing sets, slides, spinners, plus the large wooden structure in the middle, essentially a bridge with different mounts and dismounts. Plus BBQs and a skate park, and right next to a bike trail. It's also possible to walk along a narrow strip of bushland and see local parrots, pigeons etc. Good for very young children as well as young school age kids.

Markham reserve is beautiful now. A great place to take the kids or the dog or just go for a walk or a bike ride.
Playground
Excellent playground with age appropriate areas for different age groups.
Restrooms
Pretty clean mostly.
Dog-friendliness
Leash free park just not at the playground
Picnic area
Nice area for picnics and a BBQ spot. A few places with chairs and tables or just on the grass but it is a dog park so beware of that if you use the grass area

You get all aspects required for a park in this reserve. Great safe kids playground, nice open area for entertainment, oval for cricket, bike/ walk tracks, lot of car parking spots. Highlight is the fully automatic toilets which will be fun to use too. You'll understand what I mean if you use it once
Playground
Lot of options for different age kids
Restrooms
Fully automatic
Picnic area
Gotbone shed and huge grass land.

Great playground for kids of all ages, with sections suited to different age groups from the sandpit and slide for young toddlers to the skate park for "pre-teens," which I see some dads enjoying as much as the kids. There's a great atmosphere and the BBQ facilities are fairly new and kept quite clean. There's not quite enough shade on hot days so remember to slip slop slap and bring a shade umbrella or tent if you have one.

Ahhhh!!! It's huge and amazing at the same time. Plethora of space to walk run and relax. Greenery and cleanliness at its best. It has a children park and pkenty of benches to sit. A creek on one side is a icing on the cake, which refreshes the breeze. It's worth exploring if you are looking for a place to relax alone or chillax with your partner and friends. Cheers

  • Mark Aidan

Well set out green open area with huge playground, picnic areas, drinking taps and toilets all close by. There is a lot of car parking spots available and your close ish to public transport (bus). Sits off the Gardiner Creek Trail so a good stop over point or starting point if you want to explore more as not too far away from other parklands and sporting fields.

  • Tom E

Spacious park with plenty to keep the kids entertained - recommend if you live nearby, but not really a 'destination' if you don't. Two issues: (a) the raised wooden walkway is pretty high and a bit dangerous for toddlers and below - need to keep a close eye on them; and (b) without a lot of tree canopy the park gets hot in summer, even with the new shade sails.

What a place! Big grassy reserve with the most excellent children's play area I have ever seen. It's huge, and filled with all kinds of amazing playthings: bridges, climbing bars, webs -- fantastic! And there's a small skate park next to it, and a basketball ring. There's also an oval and bowling practice nets. And, a pretty little community garden. Beautiful.

Fair sized park for kids to play on a great playground with assorted fun swings, webbed robes, slides, climbing cone, small skate/scooter ramp etc. All fenced off too for added safety for the littler one's! Also has public toilet and room beside on grass for kick-to-kick, plus the creek at rear to see the ducks if your interested! Great fun for your kids

  • Sarah Tregoning

Absolutely fabulous park/playground for children 1.5 through to 12. Huge variety of things to do and play on. Spread out well. Caters to a range of abilities also. Super busy on weekends, but there's a lull on weekdays around 2pm.
Playground
Fabulous variety for a range of age groups. Gated for safety.

What an awesome find. So close to our home too. Fully gated. Many spot for parents to sit and watch their kids go crazy. Sand pit, severals slides, a great bridge to run up and down. Bbq pits with undercover sitting. Ample shady area. And a open field to have a kick too.

  • Stephen Ngau

A Good Children Playground with Good & Adequate Safety Features. My wife & I every Weekend took our two Grandchildren there to play. The Park needs to put in additional (1) More Table , 4 to 6 . (2) Two to Three Shuttles, (3) One or Two more BBQ & (4) One more Toilet.

  • Maria Ngo

Fantastic playground. One of my favorite. Large fields on either side of playground. There's a public toilet here. Convenient parking. Bicycle fixing station. Drinking water fountain and water bottle filler. Sheltered bbq area. Great walking trail and cycle track.

  • Lalla Stewart

Wide open spaces with stunning flocks of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos celebrating the blue skies. The creek runs by the community gardens and the facilities for sports and clubhouse are modern and well maintained. Such a lovely community spot to spend time.

  • John O'Driscoll

What a wonderful park. Extremely safe as it's completely enclosed by a fence and has bbq, tables, water, toilets, loads for kids to play on and a great cycling trail beside it. This is a must for anyone looking for a day out or even a kids birthday.

  • Willem Groenewald

Epic playground that caters for a wide age range. Close by parking, fenced of so the little ones don't run away, nice skate park and even public toilets. A bonus if you travel by bike, as a bike trail passes by with an area to lock up your bike.

  • Nara Lee

Lovely park, well-maintained and clean with a large playground for the kids and ample parking. A nice walking/cycling track throughout and plenty of space for dogs off leash. Wonderful experience, though on the busier side — and for good reason!

  • Vernice Ta

So much space there. Playground is huge, there is a toilet (I wouldn’t call it clean though) onsite and sheltered seating. It is along a bike path and there’s a bike repair/pump tool stand for riders. There’s also lots of parking available.

  • Belinda Dealy

Enclosed playground with childproof gate meant kids could run around without having to trail after them. Facilities in good condition and lots of different equipment to keep everyone entertained, including a small skate park.

  • Muz Budin

Excellent park! Fully fenced off for safety, has multiple undercover areas, toilets, and tons of equipment to play on. Adjoins the local reserve, so there's plenty of extra room to run around on the grass if it's peak hour.

  • Raja S Gupta

This is undoubtedly one of the best the best playground for kids of all ages. Nicely maintained and clean. Also has a nice bike trail for parents who want to pop the kid either in the front or the back seatof their bike.

  • Norman Chia

Awesome playground with lots of play equipment, mostly for younger children up to early teens. Skate park is a great addition. Lots of parking along Markham St, but the place gets really crowded. A fantastic place.

  • James S

There is an excellent playground here, at least four drinking taps, a toilet and a beginners skate park. There's also shade cloth over most of it, tables and lots of green grass both sides for the more energetic.

  • Polline Leung

  • Peter Campbell

Nice open green space next to Gardiners Creek. The Gardiners Creek Trail traverses the north side of the reserve. There is a gravel path next to Gardiners Creek. There is also a playground and sporting oval.

  • Ivan Lim

Great place for kids of many ages. Huge playground with many facilities. If only it had more shaded areas. Completely fenced off so nice and safe and right next a bicycle park as well as plenty of parking

One of my favorite reserves/ picnic spots. The reserves had sufficient parking spaces, had a playground, basketball court, bathrooms and a bike trail. There is a covered area with benches too.

  • Jenny Mendoza

Great playground and family friendly. There is a gate to prevent kids running on the road. Bbq available as well. Would be great if there was more shelter and bbq areas for families.

  • AMPED 1

Plenty of open space for dogs to run around dogs can be let off the lead in this area only downside is there's only one barbecue area so you have to get in early to get a good spot

This is the best playground I've seen in Australia. Our daughter loved it. It features an excellent range of activities for kids of various ages and parents as well.

Okay football grounds because the field is flat and has good drainage. Only issue is that there's a bit of astro turf in the middle which covers a cricket pitch.

Great Park and playground. About the only thing against it is there needs to be more tables near the playground as they are always in such high demand.

  • Kim Woo

Well-planned children playground, sports grounds, dog-friendly exercise greens, picnic sheds, with generous roadside parking bays and a public toilet.
