I rate this place 4 out of 5 stars because the desserts are really hit or miss. I would say most desserts are above average, some are out of this world, and the rest are not very good at all. I have been here a few times and this is my first review of the place. Let me start by saying there are a lot of tables inside and it gets very crowded after dinner time. There are not many sit-in dessert places on bell blvd so many people come here. You may be inches away from the next table but the seating is comfortable and turnover is quick. This particular time that I went, I ordered a slice of berry pie with ice cream and a slice of triple chocolate mousse cake. The berry pie had a crumb top which was nice and toasty. The berries gave the pie a nice tart flavor while the crumb topping added a nice textural component. The flavors of the pie complemented the scoop of vanilla ice cream. The mix of warm and cold and tart and sweet is just amazing. The triple chocolate mousse is made of a layer of white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate mousse sandwiched in between layers of dark chocolate cake. I typically do not enjoy desserts that are overly chocolately but somehow this cake breaks that rule. All 3 chocolate mousse layers as well as the cake are rich in chocolate flavor without being achingly sweet. I don’t think I could have finished the piece in one sitting but the few bites I had were heavenly.
I don't need to say so much about how wonderful their cake selections are, you know that already by the other reviewers on here. What I will say is in the early years of having deserts at this Bell Blvd location. The cake slices and portions used to be slightly bigger, nowadays they have been downsized. I gave the service 3 stars because I continue to go to this bakery to the present, and the waiter who is a guy with a baseball cap continues to be inattentive to coffee refills sugar condiments on the table and remembering simple commands. I guess new owners? Today I had a chocolate mousse slice of cake two small scoops of icecream and two smaller shots of whip cream, throw in the two cups of coffee and you have $17 dollars and change as a bill. The ambiance is pleasant but you are right up against your neighbors in the shop. Men's and ladies bathroom are 2 separated rooms with only one tolid for each, doors can be locked from inside. Parking both front and side streets are FREE but brutal on Friday and Saturday nights after 6pm, so come early. One could also take mass transit Q30 bus up Bell Blvd or the LONG ISLAND RAILROAD Bell Blvd stop. , both steps from Establishment. All in all, a nice cafe if just to stop in for cake and coffee or Icecream, good for take outs also. I INCLUDED PHOTOS IN MY REVIEW Dave Long Island NY

Bizarre disrespectful service tonight by 2 of their staff. We were already seated when a hostess (tall white girl) came to our tables and told us we weren’t supposed to sit there with the tables separated. Immediately she yanked them away from us in the rudest way possible instead of politely telling us to get up to be re seated. Not to mention I’ve never heard of a rule like this. She ends up reconfiguring the tables and walking away with an attitude. Then the server who waits our table came and spilled scorching hot tea on our poor grandmother, burning her. Instead of quickly moving the teapot she’s holding above my grandmother, she stands there staring at my grandma as the stream of boiling water is spilling from the pot onto her for almost 10 sec. Accidents happen all the time and normally I wouldn’t really care if it spilled on me but it spilled on an elderly woman and the response was almost nonexistent. An insincere apology only came once the check was handed to our table an hour later in an attempt to save face. Beyond unacceptable to have multiple untrained employees like that treat their customers like nothing and not even attempt to make amends. 0/10 will never come back
I’ve never been to a bakery with SUCH A RUDE ATTITUDE. I had placed an order for a cake reservation that I had told them I’ll be there by 5pm and my plans changed so I came earlier than 5pm for pickup because the girl on the phone told me “yeah come anytime it’ll be ready.” After I came and they told me cake wasn’t even made yet, (obvsly this is my fault because I came really earlier at 7am) I asked if I can just take a display cake instead. They gave my sister a whole nasty attitude with dirty glances from co workers while they discuss if we can take a display cake instead. This is really unbelievable, I understand I came earlier than expected that was my fault BUT, the cake wasn’t made and I’m asking for a display cake instead. SAME 10in cake I paid for was on display, I took home a 7” cake and they said because of the switch I wasn’t allowed refunds. I’m so annoyed at the service of this place and attitude! After coming highly recommended by a friend unfortunately I’ll never be coming back neither will my family based on the attitude of their workers. I come from the service industry and this is NOT how we treat customers.
*this review is based on an order that was picked up (not by me)* Recently a coworker of mine purchased the berry napoleon and brought it in for us all to try. I truly think this is my favorite dessert. The puff pastry layers along with the custard and berries scattered in between is so light and refreshing. This is my 4th time having it and every time it has been just as great as I remembered. 5/5 I highly recommend!! She also brought in a strawberry banana cake that wasn’t amazing. I thought the sponge was really dry and there really wasn’t much banana or strawberry in any of the bites I had. 3/5 Another coworker of mine brought in the strawberry shortcake that I also didn’t love. I again thought the sponge was really dry and I thought the icing layer didn’t have much flavor at all. I’ve had this once twice and both times it wasn’t great in my opinion. 2/5. Overall I think everyone should have a berry napoleon at least once in their life! I hope to actually go to the restaurant and enjoy it one day!
I visited the store (11/24/23 thanksgiving friday night) and had a mixed experience. While the overall ambiance and cakes were satisfactory, I was disappointed with the service. Ms. Erica seemed to prioritize a third group, skipping the line, which disrupted the order process. Also, the first group and second group (me and my 4 year old daughter) were the same ethnic group, but Erica was going to third group. I can’t tell her behavior is kind of discrimination, but it’s offensive behavior. When I was asking why you didn’t follow the order, and she absolutely said she was not going to server me. This left a negative impact on my visit. I believe in fair and equal service for all customers. I hope the management addresses these concerns for a better overall customer experience. I have been Martha many years, so sad about tonight experience.

We traveled from Minnesota back to NYC for Christmas. Martha's was one of our favorite spots to visit growing up in Queens so we decided to come back this evening with the family. The hostess at the door was terrific. Our waiter was grump. No smile. We ordered 2 coffees w almond milk. He came out with 2 small almond milk cups, and we didn't want to waste so we asked him just for one instead of both. He seemed irritated about having to take the 2nd one back. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake and rainbow cookies. The cake had clearly been sitting there for more than a few days. It tasted stale. Def not the Martha's I remember. Will not return.

After having a meal across the street at the dumpling restaurant we wanted a dessert that we were a little more used to. Seeing (and smelling) Martha's on the way into dinner, we knew exactly what the plan was. Seeing as how we had a 90 minute ride home after, we had to grab some coffee also! Some people in our party tried some gelato's and stuff like that, but I knew what I wanted before I even walked in the door. If you serve rainbow cookies (seven layer to some of you) and you're in the city...I want them. These were very good quality too. I could have eaten twice as many...probably because everyone else at the table was stealing mine because they were so good. The latte's and cappuccinos that everyone got were also very good. I'd absolutely stop back in here again.
I go to Martha's because I enjoy their cakes and pies. Today, I went and had such horrible service that I will not return. First, I asked about a pie and the 2 employees had no idea what it was. Then, when I asked for a cranberry walnut pie, they were looking around as if they didn't know where it was. When I asked, I was told they don't have it. I asked for an apple pie simply because it was easier. When it was time to pay, I gave my brand new $50 birthday Visa gift card, and they said it was declined. I said that wasn't possible but gave my Visa to avoid more waiting. I called up to speak to a manager because I was so annoyed and was told that Visa gift cards never work there. The counter staff is untrained and rude. I won't go back there again.

The desserts are good, I only stick to the fruit tart and the Napoleon. My suggestion with this place is that they get more organized. People were waiting for long periods of time for their orders, cakes were not being found (which reminds me I ordered one over the phone to be picked up and it took a very long time to get one). It does not feel good having all those people standing around looking at the customers while waiting for their order. One more suggestion, would be a friendlier customer service from the entrance to the server. My server was too busy to come and ask if we needed anything else. The servers walked around but don’t stop to ask if everything is ok or if customers need anything. I was a bit disappointed from the last time I was at Martha’s
Alright, listen up cupcake lovers! Martha's Country Bakery is where you need to be. No kidding, their cupcakes are next-level goodness. The flavors? Unreal. They've got this magical thing going on where every bite feels like a cozy hug for your taste buds. Now, let me give a shoutout to Veronica – she's the cupcake whisperer. Seriously, she knows her stuff and helped me pick the perfect cupcakes for a friend's kid 2 year old birthday party. She even rocked the color coordination game, making those cupcakes look as good as they tasted. So if you're on the hunt for some seriously awesome cupcakes and a vibe that's as friendly as it gets, Martha's is your spot. No fancy words needed, just enjoy~
UPDATE 7/8/23-- Martha's never disappoint!! DELICIOUS!! This is the third time that I order from Martha’s Country Bakery and they never disappoint me, last night we got a Caramel mousse cake for thanksgiving dinner with the family and let me tell you I was just such a delicious taste, everyone loved it!! I ordered 2 days before thanksgiving and paid by phone, and it took me 5 min to pick it up, everyone in the store is so well organized and they have a second line for pick up only, that way you don’t need to wait outside for a while (you know how Martha’s Bakery is so busy sometimes) it may be a lil bit pricey but it’s worth it, thank you for baking such an amazing deserts!
My boyfriend and I have been to multiple Martha's- Forest Hills and the locations in Brooklyn. The food always tastes good. Price is expensive, especially for a slice. We went there Thanksgiving 2023. Staff sucks in this Bayside location. When my mom was asking about their ice cream/gelato, they seemed annoyed that she was asking about the flavors (they didn't put any labels on the ice cream). We ordered a chocolate cake and a cheesecake, but the staff messed-up our order. They gave us two cheesecakes (neither of them were the right flavor), so I think they gave us another customer's order. Eitherway, will be going to other locations.
I visited Martha's on Labor Day to get some treats for a family get-together. There are no labels on the desserts so it's obviously important to ask what is what...etc. The young man helping me was very polite but didn't seem too knowledgeable so when I asked if one particular slice was cheesecake he said yes. A woman behind him yelled at him and myself (and my young son) "THOSE ARE VEGAN SLICES!!!!!! ITS NOT CHEESECAKE." I was shocked because we've never been yelled at like that and at a bakery (happy place) nonetheless. The cake was good and the young man was kind but the yelling will prevent us from coming back.
Called in the morning to make an reservation for a strawberry short cake for birthday party. The girl who picked up the phone said no reservation or purchase on the call needed, just go into the store and they always have strawberry short cake. I made sure since it’s for tonight’s dinner. Got there at 3:30pm, waited on the line for 20mins. They told me they sold out! After explaining my situation, the waitress told me to wait for another hour for a new batch. We get this exact cake for birthday each year for over 10 years, now it’s time to get new cakes somewhere else.
I love this Bakery. The cakes and cookies always made fresh. The personnel are always kind and respectful. My favorite cake is strawberry banana cake to die for. The Bakery amazing atmosphere to sit relax, read or conversate.

It's located in a residential area, so I parked in that area and walked.
Staff were rude and got my order wrong and had a terrible attitude however the desserts have always been great. They had put the 5 desserts I got into one small box and when I said something about it the women told me it was 5 cents per box And I would have payed for the other boxes if I had known about these rules before but I never heard about that rule at any other locations. Overall terrible night shift staff.

I need a cake yesterday for ASAP and because we were on Long Island and everything was already closed,I look up where are the best cakes shops near me. I choose this one and picked up the caramel mousse cake. The cake was insane. Fluffy, fresh, not too sweet, just my taste ! Lady at the front, very helpful she try to handle the lines and look after each costumers to been helped. The store has varieties of cakes, pastries. There are many bakeries in NYC but no question Martha’s really makes the very best cakes!!!
We didn’t had a good time :(, the server was really rude to us. The host was very sweet, but I think the server was just really having a bad day. She was slamming things to us and when we asked why our order was 10 minute late (the other table that came later got their order first) she gave us attitude. Other than that, place was so nice, food was amazing! And it was cozy and warm during December :) Still recommend it! I honestly just think she had a rough day. Hope she’s okay now.
Nice bakery, convenient location, we were able to find street parking, the place was packed at 10pm and is open late. Reason for 3 stars because it was very expensive. Coffee and a dessert with tip $20. Coffee $5, apple crumble $7.5, ice cream another $2.5. Not sure how people pay these prices. Coffee wasnt hot enough so had to get it warmed up. I don't think I will be going again to chill out. But if you can drop a 20 and want a nice place to hang out, by all means.
This place always has a long line. So, I had to try it out. Overly crowded and dark as if you're in Dracula's castle. Service.. ehh. Presentation of deserts, nice, but the taste is of a Chinese buffet desert, not good overall for the prices they charge. I've tried almost everything they had over 100 bucks and liking only one item. Good bakeries are hard to find these days until youre willing to travel to them.

Purchased one pound cookies for 28 dollars came home had to threw them out old and so hard only 3 rainbow cookies were fresh and eatable I was a customer for about since they opened but recently I see quality going down prices up. Being in food business feeding people you have to be extra careful with your products this is not selling wallpaper or designer shoes the store in bayside

Products are delicious BUT.. while i was waiting for my order (for an extended period i time as the person helping me took a long personal phone call right in the middle of assisting me) a young boy kept sliding the display case open SWIPING THE DESSERTS WITH HIS FINGER AND LICKING THEM. I saw this repeat three times while his parents stood right there noticing nothing. My attempt to intervene were unsuccessful. DONT ORDER FROM THE DISPLAY BY THE DOOR.
This place has phenomenal desserts and beverages. I had the chance to try the red velvet cake and it was delicious. This is definitely the place to go when looking for a great dessert, bev or hangout spot

Amazing selection of Hot drinks like Hazelnut hot chocolate, lattes and coffee and make sure to grab some Cheesecake and some Strawberry banana shortcake. The people behind the counter were super helpful and quick but the hosts when you walk in could care less about you as a customer I was surprised by this but I wasn’t going to let that ruin my experience. I Highly recommend checking out Martha’s if you’re in Queens.
I only go there for their Banana Nutella Creme Brûlée. It’s so amazing. It comes in 10-15 mins but worth the wait since it’s a warm dessert. I tried the one with strawberry as well but I didn’t like it. Their lemonade is always fresh and tasty during summer. My only complaint is that servers are a little rude in this place but It’s understandable since it’s always so crowded and chaotic inside. Prices are affordable.
I ordered the banana strawberry cake on Uber eats and it was really good! Although the strawberries were more on the sour side. I would recommend giving the option to give feedback on Uber eats when ordering so others can ask to write happy birthday or request candles. I didn’t have that option to so I wasn’t able to request for candles or any other extra requests. But other than that I really enjoyed the cake
Walked in with a party of 11 on Friday night. Christina was just amazing. Great communication and very quickly got us a table organized. Service with a smile and total professionalism. The deserts are delicious and on point. Overall great night with the family. But I would like to point out and give recognition to Christina for going out of her way ti make us welcome and in accommodating us.
Martha's is the best pastry spot you can visit. When you go? Do not leave without enjoying a Berry Napoleon. Also, make sure that you get a coffee along with it. Those are my go-to orders and you'll never go wrong! Every Martha's location is equally gorgeous and equally packed on a Saturday night - and with good reason! They're top notch, consistent, and without question, delicious!
I love me some Martha’s . This place satisfies my sweet cravings on a whole other level. Lines are alwaysss long but it’s worth it ! It’s sooo many options of pastries to choose from and I ended up with 3! Definitely one of my go to places for cheesecake. I definitely recommend trying out this bakery. Food Ordered: Oreo Cheesecake, New York Style Cheesecake, Napoleon Price: $$
Loved the vegan chocolate chip cookies. ♡♡...update (3.26.2021).....another dozen round of the vegan chocolate chip cookies...mmmmmmmm Update...8.20.21 been a while finally got another batch of my delicious, vegan chocolate chip cookies. Must say they are definitely smaller than the previous ones, but the yummy soft delicious taste was not compromised.
I've ordered here a few times. Depending on the time you arrive at this bakery, there can be a long line or no line. While strawberry shortcake is my favorite, I decided to try their red velvet hot chocolate and red velvet cupcake. They did not disappoint! I thought it was cute how the cupcake had heart shaped sprinkles to celebrate Valentine's Day! Highly recommend.
They have three (3) Vegan options: Carrot Cake, Chocolate Fudge Cake, and Brownie. I opted for the Carrot Cake, which was moist and tasty, while also not overly sweet. Perfect with the iced Green Tea (unsweetened.) I just wish they had more Vegan options! Pros: Carrot Cake is very good, Good service Cons: Insufficient Vegan options, Vegan options not clearly labeled
It's date night and we wanted something sweet. This place did not disappoint. I enjoyed the mixed fruit tart, and he the Pecan Pie. We were both satisfied with our choices. Not too sweet, just delicate. The chai tea and chai latte was also satisfying. The staff is attentive and prompt. With Martha's Country Bakery, my divorce with sugar is being called off.
If you're looking for dessert, look no further. This place has all your needs and satisfaction! Sweets galore, service adored, and prices steep, but adiquite. Gets ceeded quick during expected rush hours so get here quick. Dinning experience is recommended for dates so please make reservation. Food is great, service is too, very nice place to go to.
Good ambience, and it has been a great place in the area sitting down and meeting friends. The store is full of sweet aroma. It carries an amazing selection of coffee drinks. The cake side is not as refined, typical Italian American desserts, but not well made; however, the pastries at this location are starkly different from the Astoria location.
Too crowded. No place to be seated due to limited seating. Amazing variety of baked goods. Only Gelato are marked as non-kosher. No confirmation of Halal ingredients. You have to confirm if any haram ingredient is in the bakery item of your order. Average taste. The name brand hypes up the place. Good place to chill if you find any seat available.
Martha's country Bakery is an amazing place to get Dessert and Bake goodies.. they also have a cappuccino and Drinks section. They are a few Table to sit and eat or have your drinks. This 0lacw very typical very crowded. So if you wanna dine you get there early or be prepare to wait a little. There is also a bathroom to use.
I love all of their goods but the new york cheesecake takes the award every time! I have yet to try something from their menu and be disappointed. Look at the size of that slice! Update: I've had the apple crumb cheesecake and the raspberry cheesecake and both are absolutely decadent and divine. I definitely recommend.
Caramel mousse cake tastes amazing.. It was the best mousse cake I’ve ever tried. Also, all the staffs were kind and friendly. This small cozy bakery is always crowded and full with a lot of people, but it’s so understandable. The Best bakery in Queens! You should visit here and try various of cakes XD
This is my favorite bakery near Flushing. They have so many items to choose from, ranging from cakes to gelatos. Everything is freshly made daily. My absolute favorite is Very Berry Napoleon Cake. The flaky pastry and not too sweet berry and cream layers are definitely a must try. You won’t regret it!
I ordered four pieces of cakes and the staff squeezed them in a small cheap box. One chocolate cake is taller than the box but the staff didn’t care and closed the box and smashed the cake. Poor service and so-so cakes. Won’t go there again.

Love this place and always enjoyed all the options on the menu. Especially the chocolate layer cake. I have a concern. I would like to know from the owners. Do you support israel and donate any of the profit from the bakery to any organization that supports Israel and the genocide taking place?
They have a variety of baked goods . cheesecakes are good, however they don't always have the flavors listed on their menus. Vegan carrot cake mostly tastes like a brownie than a cake. Cake slices are stale last few times I was there.

Great place for a tea and sweet satisfaction. My cousin a local introduce me to this popular and busy hot spot. We enjoy good conversation over a red velvet and a black forest cup cake with ice cappuccino, slamming. Good hostess and server made a easy and pleasant visit.
The carrot muffins are very good. The raisins and walnuts add a unique flavor to the muffin. When you first walk in the place you are overwhelmed with so many different options. Overall, the carrot muffin at Martha’s Country Bakery is definitely a good choice.
The Peach Tres leches cake has an overpowering artificial peach taste. It verges on Peach jolly rancher, but in cake form. Server said they couldn’t take it off the bill, even though I only took two bites. Oh well, at least the place smells great.
It was so good we came two days in a row! So many options to choose from and everything I got was amazing. There's usually a bit of a wait so be prepared to spend some time in line. The creme brulee cheesecake was definitely a winner
Best in town bakery but not too many options for vegan people. I would recommend adding some more vegan or Eggless pastry which would bring more people in. Other than that we had frozen white chocolate freppe and ice macchiato.
I just picked up a 7-layer cake that looks a lot like 6 layers. What's up Martha?? Anyway, quality is (almost) always good at any of the locations I've been to. An easy place to choose when I'm in the mood for a rich dessert.
Baked goods are meh - would rate higher if they labeled their products. Every time I get to the register the pressure is on to choose what I want as I ask them what everything is so I can make an educated decision.
The quality of Martha’s isn’t as good as it used to be :( the top of my cupcake was dried and hard and my macaron was hollow and dense. I think they were sitting out for too long. The rainbow cookie was good tho
The best bakery ever! My fiancé and I visited this bakery on our trip in New York and we can’t stop thinking about it. I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies! 10/10. The service was also amazing!
Absolutely delicious and wide assortment of pastries, cakes, and pies. The rainbow cookies were even better than I thought they’d be, and all the cakes are yummy. So hard to choose!
The dessert here is absolutely amazing. The coffee is served late. The environment is lively and is nice to sit and have a great conversation. Definitely worth the trip and visit.
YES the best deserts ever here. Took 2 star out because the workers attitudes If you want to go visit Karen here is the place at your own risk LOL …
Nice, not as crowded as the Forest Hills locations. The cakes were amazing we taste tested so many cakes and they were all delicious!!! Excellent!!!
Stopped here for some pastries. So glad I did. Delicious croissants, canoli and vanilla crumb cake. They even had vegan carrot cake! Delicious!
