Simplistically chic restaurant. The food is exceptional to complement the impeccable service! One of my entrees spilled and did not make it to the recipient; the staff was willing to replace it, without hassle. The Northside of Jacksonville has been enhanced with an authentic cultural experience from Masala Mantra, and I am eager to return to try more menu items! I had the Lamb with peppers! Succulent chunks of lamb with peppers and fresh curry leaves, a subtle amount of spices, but sufficient enough to get your tastes buds ready for exploring more entrees. Ordered: On receipt in picture Good: The food as a whole was delicious. I love the fact they didn’t hold back on the Indian spices. Each dish was bold but not over powering. The meats were perfectly cooked. The rices perfectly seasoned. The naan was buttery and well accompanied by garlic and herbs. The samosas was an explosion of flavor and spices. Lastly the atmosphere was chill yet accommodating if you were to have a large party. Needs Improvement: The server though nice seemed to be overwhelmed though it wasn’t very busy. We had to remind him a few times that we ordered drinks he eventually got them to us and make sure we stayed filled. As with most traditional cuisine restaurants there was a language barrier at times which hampered communication a little but that’s me being critical. Honestly it wasn’t much to complain about. Overall: A good experience with great food. What I loved the most I seen just about every ethnic group was through their doors. This is typically sign that the food will be banging. I highly recommend them over any Indian spot in Jacksonville

I've visited here a few times and loved the food every time, whether ordering a dish from menu or ordering a thali, veg or non-veg the food always tasted good. This is probably the only place in Jacksonville area where they don't add bell pepper in Chicken tikka masala that makes it the best one in the town. All other Indian restaurants in Jax area, Madala, 5th element, Taste of India etc. spoil the taste just by doing it. I'm glad we have a place to eat authentic CTM in town. Other dishes that I've tried are just as good as you can expect. Highly recommended if you like Indian cuisine!!

Amazing food, I’m from the UK and am very fussy about Indian restaurants. This place is a gem, one in a million. The food, decor and ambiance is amazing. I highly recommend the Lamb Chops, they are to die for. Most of the Indian restaurants in Jacksonville are terrible and suck so please check this place out, you won’t be disappointed. Authentic flavoursome genuine Indian food suitable for all taste buds. My friend Randall who works at Monsters Inc had never tried Indian food and does not like spicy food and the restaurant made sure they made mild dishes for him for he absolutely loved the experience. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Florida.

Masala Mantra is one of the best places to taste a great variety of plates from the Indian cuisine.This restaurant offers excellent service and delicious food. If you are not an expert on Indian food, they’ll be happy to help you… our server was very kind and attentive, he explained us the menu and suggested the best options for us. We had Manchurian Gobi and Samosa chat as an appetizer and had goat pepper fry and special grill as entrée. The taste was outstanding. I felt in love with the place. Some tips: - You can chose how spicy you want your food, but always remember that this is very subjective. - Try to go with a group of friends or family, this way you’ll be able to share different dishes. - Try the Indian beer, it’s really good. - And dont forget to try their desserts.

Love this place! Garlic naan is excellent. Tried the Madras Curry this time and it was my favorite dish yet. My favorite things about this restaurant: -Their mild spicy is actually mild! -Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. -Above options contain hearty veggies! Cauliflower, carrots, those baby corns. They don’t short you. Veggie people know what I mean… -My gluten-free partner can eat their naan without feeling badly (in moderation obviously). Not sure if it’s just him? -Service is always timely. Appetizer: Chicken masala fry: too much of red color, Cumins seeds are dominating and Hardly got 10pices of chicken. Chicken biryani: mostly a curry rice made of chicken breast cubes, neither masala nor chicken has no flavor. Few Rice grains so hard. Chicken Rogan Josh: no taste no flavor, too much of color. I could see color on my figures even after I wash my hands. Moreover all items are expensive with less quantity. Mint chutney is one the only item which I felt tasty. Probably I will not try this place.

It's a newly opened restaurant serving Indian cuisine. This was my first time visiting it. Looking at it from outside I was like, why did we come here for dinner? There was a makeshift sign of a plastic banner hanging. But as it is said that Never judge a book by it's cover. When I walked in, the ambiance was very nice, staff was very courteous and helpful. I cannot express how happy I am to finally have an Indian restaurant on this side of town so I don’t have to go all the way down to baymeadows! The ambiance is very pretty and clean, obviously it looks very new. The food is great. The staff was very accommodating and would check on us frequently, including the manager. I asked for no cilantro on my naan and they obliged which was great. We were served by Sreeraj and he was awesome and very attentive, but everyone would come in and check on us. Highly recommend!

I’m updating my original review because I was a little harsh and there’s not a lot of Indian cuisine options near me. I tried the butter chicken again and this time I ordered it spicier. That was the trick! I guess I was used to things being *automatically* spicy being from a different city. The flavor profile had much more dimension. My first time visiting Masala Mantra and had a good time with friends enjoying good Indian food. The service was great, but the food was too spicy for a couple people in our party. My wife got the Malai Kebab and it was not very tasty. The Jalfreizi lamb I had was spicy and delicious! We will return to try more of their dishes. The only real negative was the sun. Although the windows were covered with a white frosting material, they were so bright you couldn't look at them. Will go after sunset the next time.

My daughter had been on me to take her to try this place out and we finally did it today. It's in a spot where we used to go for Buffalo Wings, but Masal Mantra is a fitting replacement. First time eating at this location and the service and food was amazing. Rueben was our server and explained our dishes very well and he was so polite. The atmosphere upon entering is nice. I didn’t think you could have delicious authentic Indian food in Oceanway but here we are. We did the tandoori sampler which was excellent as was the onion bajhi and pakoda. Excellent naan bread. Delicious tikka masala. Yummy desert! Great service and nice atmosphere. We will be back regularly.

Really great food, newly renovated interior of the restaurant is really nicely done. Had the keema Naan and Malabar fish curry. Was really well done and the salmon in the fish curry was perfect for me. More

First visit and enjoyed a delicious butter chicken lunch special. Pleasantly surprised by the lovely decor. Excellent service as well! Closest Indian food to Fernandina Beach, on Hwy 17 close to River City.
