Edit: reply is at the end Really disappointed! Me, my father, and my brother were kicked out of this masjid. You heard it right, KICKED OUT of Allah's house. The shaytaan imam named basil abdullah asked us to leave and never come back. You may wonder why, it's because my dad who's native language is not English was translating the khutba on his phone. The "security" asked him to put away his phone but my father explained it to him and then he proceeded to ask him to leave. My father refused to as this is not anyone's house but Allah. We prayed, and then confronted the "security", who by the way did not pray (It's none of my business but for a man to tell my father to put away his phone which he needed to translate and him to not even pray really puts into perspective on what they think is important). Anyways, my father tried to explain it to him and all of a sudden we see a group of African Americans gang up on us like we're in the south. We tried to explain it to them and the security proceeded to lie (mind you this was in a mosque on a Friday) and say that he didn't want to kick my dad out and everyone agreed with him and told us to leave and never come back. Another fake "imam" (more like shaytaan) who's name is Haywood called me stupid just for trying to explain to him our situation. One tatted man grabbed my hand to try to kick me out but he couldn't do a single thing since this country has laws that put him in his place. This man repeatedly threatened to fight us and beat us. Funny how they view this as islam. Only a group of cowards would do such thing and pretend to be tough when they're not. But to be fair, I wasn't surprised by their behavior, it wasn't anything new to us especially ever since we came to the U.S. coming from people like them. Last but not least, the imam/shaytaan basil was talking down upon all hadeeth and saying that it's not reliable and to only follow the Quran. If you wanna let your kids be brainwashed by what they call Islam that's totally reciprocated by their behavior, then by all means come through attend this masjid. If you wanna have your kids be taught by a bung of thugs, then by all means come here. And to everyone that acted tough today, succeed in life and in your deen because that's the real success, not pretending to be strong when you can't do a single thing. I attached picture of the shayateen btw for reference purposes Reply 1: you can see the language the imam is using which speaks volumes on his religious education and true self by calling my father a dog. Wow, your parents must have done a great job at teaching you manners but we can leave that for another day. However, like I stated, my father was using it for translation because his first language is Arabic and he was trying to understand. But as you can see by that reply how the imam acts. And if the IMAM who's supposed to be representing ISLAM is shouting, speaking vulgar language, writing a reply like that, and just all around with no manners (which doesn't surprise me seeing people like them in an area like that.) Just for your information, this has been and will forever be Allah's house, not yours. Rest assured I won't be coming back nor do I want to see people like them anymore.
Prayed Juma there last month. It was a really positive experience. The Imam's waaz/khutba was superb, very relevant, and concise. He shared the real experiences of people who grew up in the USA in the 1960s and later, and one could relate well with them and absorb the learnings. The congregation was composed of a spectrum of folks from around the world with the majority from the black community. And what a friendly, polite, and courteous group they were, masha Allah. It was a thoroughly refreshing and energizing experience to meet people and join them in the prayer. Thank you and prayers for all the brothers and sisters who have made this happen .
Ramadan is almost near. We passed by this place and we are amazed of the peace it brings. Clarity of the mind, to pray and give thanks. The place is clean, as the old saying goes, cleanliness is next to godliness. Here in Okey Dokey Locksmith we appreciate everything we do to our customers. As we do our job, focus, clarity and peace of mind is needed to perform a job well done. We do not hold the world is in not in our hands but providing the best to our customer is achievable.
I give 0 * to that place because whenever I went for prey I found that place close.Today I come again to that place it was too rainy day and time was 5:00 p.m. but I found that place again close. It must be open 24-hours. Which kind of mosque is that? that's just for formality and business. I don't know management of this kind of mosques that place must open 5 time a day because we are Muslim and we are praying 5 time a day. Thanks
If I could give this place zero stars I would!! Very unprofessional and RUDE to visitors. The so called leader is a scam artist and is running a business without a license. The area is infested with drugs and thugs like the other guy mentioned so beware of your surroundings. Service was OK but the restrooms need cleaning. I would not recommend this place to others.
Beautiful hidden gem north of downtown. We were passing by and realized we hadn't prayed and gmaps led us here. Everything was beautiful and clean, smelled amazing even in the bathroom. Brother that greeted us was very pleasant and kind. The area is a bit rough, which makes this mosque even more beautiful and important.
All praises are due to Allah, enjoyed my first 10 days of Ramadan at Taleem Muhammad Masjid, a very peaceful environment a blessed community for Iftar;breaking the fast and Salah;the prayers. If Allah so please the next 10 days will be greater.
Dear brothers, I m new to the area. I went to this masjid for Salatul Maghrib today but unfortunately it was locked. Kindly confirm, if this masjid opens up for the daily prayers or not ? What time Jummah prayer begins? Jazak Allah Khairun
The most impressive group of converts to Islam I know. A group that started with brothers from the streets of that neighborhood who wanted a better way of life and change a crack house into a place of worship. Alhamdulillah.
Just prayed Jummah here today. Great place great people. But I have a complain . Its mostly closed and masjids arent supposed to be closed. I work near by so I come but it was closed at around 5 pm.
The place have a spirit of a community center rather than a place for praying only. The people are very nice and the center is very clean. May Allah bless their efforts.
Very well managed masjid. It is a sunni masjid managed by the African American community. I reached during the off time hence didn't offer the namaaz with jamaat.
Very nice place to come and fulfill your prayers, very clean restrooms, recommended …
Beautiful......good hearted believers and good place to learn about the deen of islam.
I purchased oils for my wife and family, but they are never available for prayers.
Great Imaan great musalee, Jumaah prayer here at 2.25pm however new timing 1.25pm
