Terrible service. Do NOT bring your watch here for repair unless you want to be kept waiting and waste your time. I looked at the other reviews on here, and the owner is a nutjob responding to every ad deflecting blame on the clients and clearly has no sense of professionalism. Do you want to bring your valuables into a place like this in their care? Here's my story: Brought my watch to repair my bracelet, and the person there told me she could do it right away, but it would take 20 minutes, so to come back. I killed half an hour at the mall and came back only to find out she hadn't even started working on it yet. She kept telling me "5 more minutes" but she was busy with other clients trying to make a sale, so I assumed at the time somebody was in the back busy working on it. I realized she was the only person in the shop, and instead of leaving and coming back, I stayed in the shop to wait, and eventually the last client left and she proceeded to work on my bracelet... which took all of 30 SECONDS to fix. She was obviously prioritizing clients come in to buy something to make a sale rather than repairing my watch, and was lying to me that it'll take more time each time I came back to pick up my watch. Zero sense of professionalism and I will not be bringing any watches back here for repairs. I also suspect the job was sloppy given how rushed she was trying to fix it since as she was working on the bracelet, another client came in. Have some sense of professionalism, and prioritize your clients and your work properly, and stop wasting other people's time!

My experience with Master Fine Jewellers was a disaster. I took in my 3 year old $400 Seiko to get the battery replaced, nothing more. She talked me into a new watch strap, fair enough, it was getting old. She opened the watch in front of me to replace the battery and told me it needed a new waterproofing gasket. OK, I agreed to come back in one hour. When I did, she said there were further complications and I should come back in one week. My wife went to pick it up and while there, noticed it was not working. The Master Fine woman re-opened it and then said it would be another week, her husband needed to fix something. A week later I went in and the second hand had be broken off. She said it had nothing to do with her. I took the watch back and a week later at home, the glass watch face simply fell off. I took it to another watch repair and they said it would cost $2-300 to repair as whoever opened it, pried it open with a lever, like an old can opener, instead of properly unscrewing it. The watch is now useless, save for the brand-new leather watchstrap. Master Fine took zero responsibility, said it had nothing to do with them. That alone motivated me to write this review. An absolute, complete disaster.

WARNING!! Took my Seiko automatic divers watch in for general cleaning/servicing. Told the women it ran just fine but that I thought it was losing a few seconds per day and wanted to get it cleaned. She looked at it for maybe 5 seconds and said it wasn't running. I told her I hadn't worn it in a few days so it likely just needed to be wound. She shook it a few times, set the time and said again, it wasn't working. Then said she could service it but that it would cost between $200-$250. When I said no thanks, she tried to direct me the sales counter. I told her I wasn't interest in a new watch and left. I then took my watch to another Seiko dealer in Ottawa and paid $50 for a cleaning, Watch runs like new again. Master Fine Jewelry is dishonest and appears to be only interested in overcharging or upselling unsuspecting customers. Go elsewhere!

Went in to see if they could fix the strap of my watch. Took him a little while, but instead of having to take a link out, he fixed it properly and didn't charge me very much for an hour's work! I was very pleased, will certainly go back again! (2nd visit - Update) Went back a few weeks later. All the jewelers (I went to 4 others) that I had gone to trying to get a new battery could not open the back of this same watch. The lady who was working that day at master Fine Jewellers opened it in less than a minute and changed the battery for me, finally! I should have come here first and will do so next time! Thank you again Master Fine Jewellers!

I needed to replace the watchband on my Tissot watch. I went to two Tissot-authorized jewellers. The first advised me that that particular watchband was no longer available. The second took a $40 deposit, but never got back to me until I got in touch with them six months later. They advised that they were "still looking", but I opted to retrieve my deposit instead. Neither authorized dealer offered to adapt an ordinary band, which is precisely what Master Fine Jewellers offered to do. And it was done beautifully and included adding the Tissot closing hardware from my previous band. Hugely appreciated. Thank you, Master Fine Jewellers.

The people who work here are very sweet, and they go above and beyond in their professional services. They treat you like family here, and you feel very welcome. I have come here several times to buy high quality jewelry/watches for a good price and to get the watch batteries changed. The store has many specialized watch parts/straps that aren't carried anywhere else and the jewellers have many skills to be able to deal with all issues related to watches and jewelry. I would highly recommend this family owned business!

My mother cracked the crystal on her Rolex and brought it her to be replaced. They destroyed the watch in the process and claim “there’s nothing wrong with it and that they can’t see anything”. There is water damage, dirt, and deep gouges on the face. The face is destroyed and after we brought it to a Rolex dealer they said this repair ruined it beyond repair. They take advantage of the elderly who don’t know better. Take your business elsewhere unless you want to be ripped off and have your watches destroyed.

Went there to buy a new battery for my watch and get it replaced. As soon as I got home I found my self washing my hands and there was water leaking into my watch. This was very dissapointing as it was water resistant, the watch was not cheap and very important to me. I went back to yhe store to get it fixed however they were of no help whatsoever and the owner was very rude. They would not accept guilt for breaking my watch. Absolute poor service. Dont trust them with ANYTHING VALUABLE.

I went to a store and had the battery in my watch changed. They used a Renata brand battery, which costs $4 for a pack of four at Walmart. However, they charged me $30 for change battry. The couple who run the store were uneducated and did not show any respect to me as a customer. Even after I told them about the price of the battery, they accused me of lying. I will never go to that store again and I advise everyone else not to go there at all.

Master fine jewelers are the best family business in Ottawa. I have been going to them for yrs for all my repairs, custom made jewellery designs & I always been served in professional and friendly manner. They're very caring and each time I go I get treated like a family. I would recommend for everybody and I continue to give them my business as long as they're in business

A very professional place to get the best quality gold and silver. The owners are very sweet and kind. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to watches, gold and silver . They always do their best to make sure I am happy each time I shop in there. If you have any watches that need battery replaced, or any links to be removed they are the ones to go to! My friend took her watch here to have the battery replaced. She was informed that the watch was broken and she should buy a new one. After having a different store look at the watch she was informed that the battery was removed and the watch had been damaged. It seems like Master Fine Jewelers damaged the watch in order to make a sale. This is just horrible.

There are FOUR Jewellers at Billings and this was the only place that could attach a watch band. Not only do they have the ability to quickly repair something as simple as a watch band, but they recognize that the words "no charge" for such an easy task are still a valuable commodity in the world of customer service. Way to go Master Jewellers!

I've been coming here for years to get batteries replaced and bands fixed and adjusted. They also have an excellent selection of Seiko watches and the watchmaster is knowledgable and even does mods. In this day and age of disposable watches good to have a specialty store like this nearby that isn't a large chain.

Easy accessible very gud price range and fixed my watch right away. It took them 10 minutes and no extra stories told as compare to other merchandisers I went to fix my watch. Some of them also told me to wait for weeks to get my watch fixed. But master fine jewellers were very friendly and helpful.

Feeling a little misled. Bought a basic ring here at %70 off. But they hike up the prices and then claim they're marked down. When I googled the typical price for a ring of the exact same width, type, and metal, I had paid around average price or even a little more than other places. For "70% off".

My husband recently had the battery in his watch changed at a store, and they charged too much money. However, after just two weeks, the battery died and stopped working. It's not fair to provide a low-quality battery that only lasts for two weeks. I don’t recommend this store to any body.

Master fine jewelers are the best in town. Very professional and excellent customer service. Came in to resize my 30 years old watch, was done in 5 mins while other places told me its impossible to resize. This is my place to go for anything related to watches.

Horrible chain repair, Went to St-Laurent location to have a Gold chain fixed, Took about 15 minutes. Almost $20 and 20 minutes later my Gold chain and Cross fell off my neck. If I would not have noticed it I would have lost my Gold chain.
