WOW!!! I honestly can't say enough good about McDonald Electric. Mike is a great electrician and a wonderful person. When I first called him for a minor job, he set up a time to come over withing the next 48 hours. He came out to install an outdoor outlet, and he discovered a very big problem with my electrical panel. The problem was serious and posed danger. Mike alerted me to the dangers, and then offered to clear his morning and fix it asap. He was so kind and he gave me the best price he could, and he even threw in a security light. He clearly takes pride in his work and wants to make his customers happy. He offered a 10 year guarantee which brings me a great deal of comfort considering the panel he had to replace was only 1 year old. A week after the work was done, Mike came by the house to check to see that we were happy with his work and if we were enjoying our new security light. Truly, this is the BEST experience I have ever had with anyone doing work in our home. I would STRONGLY recommend him to anyone needing work done. A++++++

Mike was wonderful! He stopped by our rental unit to diagnose an unknown issue with random outlets/lights not working. He was extremely professional and was able to work with our schedules to come out and check out the house. He arrived right on time and was able to find the issue quickly. Mike was also able to come up with a plan to fix the issue and made plans with us immediately to come back early the next morning as it was quite a large fix. In the meantime, Mike was able to get power up and running for us so that our home could function in the short amount of time prior to him coming back for the long-term fix. Extremely grateful we worked with McDonald Electric! Initially we called for an electrical outlet repair (fixed easily and quickly), and fortunately during the repair it was discovered that our electric panel was badly damaged due to faulty and outdated wiring. We hadn't been aware of the issue because it was hidden behind a panel within the box we hadn't thought to remove. Without knowing it, we were at risk for an electrical fire. McDonald Electric quickly assessed the problem, took the time to explain what the issue was and why it was happening, and offered to come back the following morning to repair it right away. The repair was done quickly, professionally and up to code the next morning, and was on budget with the estimated cost we'd discussed the day before. We had a big problem today: The lights went out and we smelled smoke! Previously, we had a big electrical job last year and their work was excellent and the price was reasonable. So when my sister's lights went out, I called McDonald Electric again. I just happened to catch him between jobs and his crew arrived within the hour. Mike and the crew were very nice and talked with us, getting the details. There were lots of boxes in the way but his crew neatly cleared a path. They quickly found the cause, which was a short that could have burnt the house down! He sent me a picture and repaired the wires quickly. He would not accept payment. I was stunned! When I looked for an electrician to come to our home, I saw that McDonald Electric had been in business since 1945 and had earned essentially 340 really positive reviews. I looked no further and am glad I did. Mike came to our house, listened carefully, checked things over thoroughly and found that our panel had charred wires from a lightning strike. He told us what it would cost to replace it and arranged to return at our house at 7:30 am. He was punctual, informative and meticulous. He's a perfectionist and the wiring in the box reflected that. I needed to get a new electrical outlet installed in my garage for a wall-mounted garage door opener. I reached out to McDonald Electric to help troubleshoot an issue I was having with a few outlets of a newly purchased home. Mike was very honest and helpful! If I could give these folks more than 5 stars, I would. Michael was incredibly thorough and communicative throughout the process of locating our electrical issues, explaining what had caused them, and exactly what solutions he implemented (and why). The work itself was expertly done and will stand the test of time. He didn't upsell us at all or attempt to fix what wasn't broken-- he did only what was necessary, and did it exceptionally well. Beyond that, he took time to explain to us what sorts of issues we can expect to have in the future as the rest of our electrical system ages-- and you can bet we'll be calling McDonald Electric when that work needs doing.

We reached out to Michael a few weeks ago after going under contract on our new home with some concerns about aluminum wiring. He reassured us at that point, and we made plans for him to transfer our wiring to copper to prevent any chance of arcing and fire. A few weeks later when we contacted him again he remembered us, and came out right away to see the home ahead of his appointment a few days later. I had an unknown problem with 4 outlets in my living room. Contacted McDonald Electric and left message and he returned my call and set an appointment with me about 20 minutes after I had left the message. He was at the house on-time the next day and immediately started looking for what was causing my issue. It took him awhile to trouble-shoot the problem but he did find the issue and fix it. I had two electricians flake on me. One simply didn't return calls. The other gave me what I thought was a high estimate, but never called to schedule service and never responded to my texts. Mike at McDonald Electric gets 5 stars PLUS for quickly diagnosing my electrical problem. Problems started with a wind storm which knocked out my power. The nightmare began when the lights came back and were flashing on and off in some rooms but not all. I called Mike for an appointment and he called me back to discuss the issue, which he correctly stated was the electric company's problem with one leg of the 120v having a bad connection. I was without power in the back of my house as of Saturday night, reached out on Sunday afternoon, and Mike not only contacted me asap to set up a consultation on Monday, he fit me in for a same day repair and made sure I had power restored. Also, he probably saved my life because I had burnt wires inside my breaker box! Before picture is of my fried wires and the other is his beautiful workmanship. He also cleaned the wires up and made them so they are neat and secure. 1,000,000% would recommend and will definitely call upon McDonald Electric for any future needs!

Two of our bedrooms were without power. We called McDonald Electric. Mike was very timely in getting to our house. He was friendly, professional, and worked very hard the whole time he was here. Apparently, we had an arc fault in one of the outlets. He was diligent in searching for the arc fault, going up and down our stairs between the outlets in each bedroom and the circuit panel downstairs. He found it and we had power in about an hour. His price was very reasonable. We will be using Mike for any future electrical needs. He is honest and very skilled.

Mike did a great job upgrading and performing safety checks and repairs on the old fixer-upper house we purchased recently. He was on time, did great work and explained what he was doing and why, and charged a fair price. Couldn't ask for better service. Highly recommended.
