We were very excited to try this spot and were extremely let down by the experience. We went with the intention of having a few drinks and apps on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was not at more than 25% capacity with 3-4 staff members moving about checking on various patrons. Outside of the initial order upon sitting down, we had someone check on us only twice in a 2.5 hour period, we weren't asked if we wanted a menu or food/had to pull a menu from another table, and saw the staff check on other customers multiple times that they knew by name who happened to be seated at tables next to us. It became clear that if you didn't know the staff, you weren't worth the time. Besides the uncomfortable glares we were given from people at the bar upon walking in, the only real attentiveness shown was when it came time to pay, which was a real bummer. Unfortunately, I don't believe we will be coming here again, which sucks because with family from Ireland and a familial association with the name, McGillacuddy's, I truthfully wanted to enjoy this place.

I've been coming here for years. The service has been so bad the last time couple times. My mom waited 15 minutes when the place was dead to get a gift certificate and was ignored u til she left. She was going to spend hundreds of dollars. Im glad she didn't now. I dont want to support this place anymore. This waiter tonight after 10 minutes never even spoke to us. Walked by and looked at my husband and acted like we didn't exist. We finally walked out after we seen him go outside to smoke. To top that off we had to walk through a cloud of his smoke because he was smoking right at the door where he wasn't supposed to be. It's actually against the law. I don't know what happened to the other servers but I'm gonna stay away from this place after this. I've brought at least 50+ people here over the years and last time I was so embarrassed. The food was inedible and I said it must have been a fluke. Sad to see what this place has come to. It's apparently constant that the service is terrible. They won't card you though so feel free to go do some underage drinking. Good lord. Terrible.
I've been going to this place for about 5 years now. I went Sunday June 11 23 for the all you can eat breakfast. Their under new management and a lot has changed. It took 30 minutes or more for the guy to greet us and take our drink orders. While he made our drinks we continued to wait on our plates. He forgot my drink and finally brought our plates by this time we've been there almost in hour. The bacon and potatoes were hard like they were old and reheated. The guy that was helping us wasn't very friendly at all. I asked if they were going to put out more potatoes and he said he would check. He never got back to me and they never put out fresh potatoes. I miss the old staff and cooks they were very friendly greeted you right when you walked in and got you plates and drinks and also asked how is everything through out our meal. It's sad and unfortunate that such good people have left. With all that said I will never eat there again!!!! VERY Disappointed

My buddies and I like to go in on Tuesday for all you can eat tacos. I have known Mark for many many years they owner-manager of McGillicuddy's and he does a great job to offer great food and beverage but also entertaining venues within his restaurant / bar including trivia flat screen TVs and every booth lots of games, nice billiard tables, and of course Lottery. This is not a scummy nasty stinky place it's a very well-run and well-managed facility. The tacos are outstanding they don't give you cheap meat and nasty trimmings it is all top-notch and they keep it well stocked. Did I mention it's $5 for all you can eat make your own tacos? And of course it is packed to the gills. The only negative I have is there are evenings that they are lacking a manager or leadership and the servers have a tendency to minimize service and become distracted doing other things. Otherwise it's a wonderful place to hang out especially if you are a sports or not because they have beautiful television's everywhere and there is never a problem changing the channel.
This is a great sports bar with very reasonable drink prices and karaoke on Saturday. If you go for karaoke, check to see if there is a game (Ducks, Blazers, Timbers) because they won't start karaoke until the game is finished. They are a sports bar first, everything else second. The food is all pretty tasty for bar fare. I haven't been there for the Sunday buffet before but many people have told me it is excellent. I had the buffalo chicken bites which were basically chicken strips cut into pieces and tossed in buffalo wing sauce. I also had the sweet potato fries. Both were exactly what I'd hoped and pretty cheap. They pour good drinks and the prices are low which probably has something to do with the low staffing levels. Table service after 9pm on a busy night is not really a thing but they'll come to you if they can. Otherwise just order from the bar. All in all, it's a great neighborhood haunt with all of the parts that make up a great sports bar but none of the corporate pricing.
Chicken strips. 6 big peices.. Cooked right. Crispy outside and juicy inside. Often the chicken is dry inside. At other places.... so I was Leary ordering them. What a pleasant surprise.... the fries were served under this mountain of chicken. Just the way I like golden brown. A little crispy not burnt. Another pleasant surprise. Lived In the area 20years and had been missing out. Waitress was on it with everything. I dont drink beer/ booze and my rootbeer was refilled just as I was getting low. She just handled all of us pleasantly/politely/and professionally. Would recommend this place for sure. All of us 3guys were discussing after we left about making sure to make time for lunch when we have more biz in the area. Oh yeah my buddy had French dip and loved it. Reasonable price and good food and service for a beer joint. .... were used to city grill. Or ringside. Upscale places. So good job guys
Cool sports bar with lots of TVs including one at every booth. Only video poker available because of covid but a nice outside patio makes up for it. I had the hot wings because it seemed to be the most recommended by reviewers and they were pretty dang good. I got the sweet heat and spicy peanut flavors and the peanut was bomb af. Striking up a conversation with some other patrons tipped me off to lots of other fun bars in town to visit. The bar tenders seemed pretty chill and we're good servers on a lax night so they earned a good tip. Good drinks too. It's a little bit small for how busy I imagine it gets so definitely bring your friends to not feel like you're wasting their space and time. It might just feel that way because everything is so spaced out due to covid regulations, but that's not really their fault
It can be challenging to find parking for this place during peak hours, such as a Saturday night during the NFL playoffs. They have TVs in view from every table, including a smaller tv at nearly every table. The service was very slow, though we were notified as soon as we arrived that they were down a person. One thing that really stood out about this place was the prices, it can be hard to find drinks and food at a bar in the Portland area for under $20. I had a drink and some food for $18, which feels like a pretty good deal in Portland. Overall pretty standard food and drink quality and a good place to stop in for watching sports.

Recently relocated to the neighborhood, and popped in for their breakfast buffet on weekends. From the outside the space is unassuming, once you walk through the second set of doors (if coming from Halsey West bound) you are greeted with expansive booths complete with their own television, so you can finally control what you are watching at a bar. The food was worth the cost and I definitely left satisfied. The drinks Trio made were the highlight. Thanks man! Definitely a spot I was over looking and worthna trip to the outer NE. I can only imagine how great games days are at this bar. Seems like the perfect spot to catch a Timbers or Blazers game.

Nice, clean sports pub venue. All televised international sports available for viewing, NFL, NBA, NHL season ticket PPV ESPN1,2,3,... with tons of big screens all over and individual screens at each booth so you can see exactly that game that you want to see. Good bar food menu with good size portions. About 20+ microbrews on tap + 2 on Nitrous Oxide. ALL big brand domestic brews, and good selection of ciders and coolers available. Pool and shuffleboard and all Oregon Lottery. Sunday fame day brunch at 9am - Noonish. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere for couples, friends getting together. And two large group tables.
The older, female bartender is every reason to skip this bar. She must really hate her life because she's downright nasty to customers the instant they sit down. I spent Sunday evening watching her criticize and mock people to their faces and behind their backs after they left. She mocked my fiancee and treated our group horribly for being in our 20s. Maybe she is unhappily married and longs for her youth but that's no way to treat people. We were sober and respectful. I recommend she try both and see if it changes her mood.
Blazer games, football, daily specials, TVs at every booth, and stiff drinks. Great service, better than average bar food. Also have a good breakfast on the weekends that has an all you can eat plus more option to have cooked fresh. Still amazing. Carl and James are the best bartenders. 2023 edit: Carl has now owned the bar for a year and is keeping up with tradition. Michelle is back for a couple days and NFL Sunday breakfast is still one of the best deals in town.

I was craving a big indulgent salad from a sports bar, the kind with bacon and blue cheese and a fried chicken option. While researching restaurants near a friends’ house, I tracked my dream salad down on the menu at McGillacuddy’s — and for under $10, which is an ABSOLUTE STEAL. And when I picked it up, it was perfection. I live 100 blocks away, but I’m making the trip back out here in the future for this baby! My boyfriends burger and fries are also good and my friend loved her BLT!
Staff here is always awesome! Some of the warmest, friendliest folks anywhere. The food is top notch and priced right. The beer selection is more than adequate. The best part is the individual booths with your own TV for sports. Or you can watch any of the other TVs around the bar including a big screen at one end of the booths. The place is clean. The parking is convenient. There is fun to be had here. What more could I ask for? Watching a game here is definitely a good time!
Myself and some friends were at the bar on Super bowl Sunday. I understand that the bar was extremely busy but I must say....its was the most joke of a bar for the event I have ever been to. I'm a bartender and I know that you need more than 1 waitress, 1 cook and 1 bartender. Be realistic! There should be 2 of each. Especially for a "Sports Bar". We waited more than hour for service, and there service was not worth the wait! Thank you Michele Horne
What a place to watch a game! It was packed. Only one table server was working to serve about 100 people. How he held it together, I'll never know, but he pulled it off. I had a BLT since the soup was sold out. It was very good. I'm not a fan of the tavern type fries. I like steak fries or crinkle type. I'd recommend subbing out fries for soup or salad or getting tots. I would definitely return.

Went there to play the video Lottery machines about three times the last few weeks and I came out ahead every time so of course I love the place! But even without the little extra money I walk out with the place is pretty chill. They have good music playing and I usually see most of the people sitting down eating so I'm guessing the food must be good as well. Oh yeah and there's a couple of really cute bartender guys

This is a fine, Fine sports bar with a good kitchen. Plenty of TVs for whatever your flavor may be. Decent brew selection and nice, attentive staff. I travel a lot and am picky about my sport bars. They have their sound system dialed in which is a big tick in the PLUS column. Burger and Fries were on point. And who can say no to Scooby snax? Would definitely be my goto spot for games if I were a local... Good On Ya McG
Awesome place for Sunday morning football. So many TVs you can't miss a game. All you can eat breakfast was pretty good, for a great price. Server was awesome, never waited with an empty drink. Fun atmosphere.

Nice little sports bar in the neighborhood. Went for lunch and drinks and wasn't disappointed. Beer was cold and fresh my ladies drink was made strong and she enjoyed every drop . Our sandwich and burger were just as delicious. perfect place to grab a beer ,watch the game and just take a load off . 4 stars only because our server seemed like he hated us for some reason even after leaving a very nice tip .
Ross the bartender was friendly, courteous and just the right amount of attentive. Food is always great! The beer and mixed drinks were just right. The facility was clean with a variety of distanced seating options: outdoor picnic tables and tables and chairs, as well as inside booths, tables and chairs, bar and game machines.

A TV with remote at every booth so you can watch the game you want. Also plenty of big tvs around. For Sunday brunch they put coffee out at a self serve station which is nice. Hand sanitizer at every table as well which we liked. We got to relax and watch our detroit lions win their first game of the season! It was great

After being treated not great at Clamity Jae's I came here and was so glad. The bartenders were great!! Food was fast and good. As soon as my party walk in we were greeted and had our drinks in hand. Conversation was good also. Prices were great and not overpriced per what I've been seeing everywhere lately. Thank you bartenders! Wish I would've gotten theirs names. I was there last night Thursday.
So I was visiting Portland like I do about every 5 weeks and it was late (covid late, remember when we were cool?) And I desperately wanted a French dip...did some googling and came across this place...showed up and LOVED it! Saw they had a breakfast buffet on the weekend so took my dude there this morning! For the price it was KILLER.. great service, good food, cool vibes...check it out!
Update, my time here was enjoyable, the patrons we're hospitable and service came quick organized and efficient, I was wrong about the bartenders they were very professional, this place doesn't come with a smile it comes with true feeling and if you want real people real drinks and real food McGillicuddy's is the place to go

Young woman bartender wasn't friendly during mid evening shift. Every time she walked past us she would give dirty looks. I don't live close to this bar. So when I do Come in its because I'm visiting a freind thatvlives in the neighborhood. This isn't the first time this has taken place with the same bartender. We will be meering up at a different bar in the future.

One of my favorite sports bars mini TVs in every booth plus big screens all around the building Monday’s are our favorite, wing night 2for1 wings and they have really good wings, they hold raffles every home blazer game had never had to worry about fights breaking out the bartenders James and Panda are both amazing and friendly only place I recommend to get wings
When I lived in Portland, I went here often. They have good food and great customer service. The bar changed ownership, but the new owner was a long time employee so they haven't tried to reinvent the wheel. It's worth a visit, when I visit Portland, they will definitely be on my list of stops.

Lots of tv's for your Sunday football viewing pleasure, with the Sunday Ticket. They have a breakfast buffet? Didn't see it, I was in too late. 9-12? But I did have the French dip, great meat, wide bun. Views on the big screens can be a challenge, lots of tables and patrons about. But booths have their own tv, so there's that.
Went for the "Football Breakfast" as we call it. All you can eat buffet, that They've had for years. ALL the Games showing, and great environment. $12.99 now, but worth it. They will even make you waffles, French toast, or omelets to order if you want included in price! Glad to have it back, after all the pandemic shutdowns!!
Good neighborhood bar where a lot of people go and call it "their bar" . Super loud and just gets louder as the night goes on... We had a lot of fun doing karaoke but the sound system was really, really bad. It made everybody suck!!

It wasn't anything special just your typical sports bar. The food was okay. I ordered Philly steak sandwich that was a little on the dry side and the fries were limp. My food with unsweetened iced tea was about $15. Will I go back? Unlikely since I don't drink alcohol. I only went because I was meeting my cousin there.
The service was extremely slow! We waited too long for someone to come to the table. The server was very scarce. The Reuben sandwich that we ordered, I couldn't chew, some most of it got thrown away. The price of the meal was very over priced for what we got! We won't rush back there anytime soon inn the future!
This is the place in Portland to go for NFL football. Party atmosphere with all the games on and most teams being represented by their fans. The absolute best breakfast buffet in the city and attentive service. You can't go wrong at McGillacuddy's. It is great at all times in addition to when the NFL when is on.
WOW! Service, decor, music ambiance and their breakfast buffet was hands down the best breakfast under 10 dollars in the Metro area. In all seriousness, the employees really made the experience the best. First time in this obscure sports bar, I really wished they were in Washington county where I live.
Above standard bar food, with very nice employees. Typical sports bar with nothing to bring to the table. Attracts a bit.of the alternative crowd that must live in the area and have found a home. Well worth visiting if you need a sports bar and don't want to be around the usual pro drinking old folks.
Busy needed that back up bartender...food was great...had the moo burger..for those that love Bleu cheese it is delish. Y

My friend found a shard of glass in his drink. (That made it into his mouth!) The waitress gave him a new glass. Nothing else. Not even a real apology. (She had shattered a glass a bit earlier, that piece probably flew into his drink.) Other than that, service was ok and food was good.
HANDS DOWN best sports bar in Portland, OR! Great food and a TV monitor in every booth allows you to control what you watch. -- All you can eat Sat & Sun breakfast is awesome! Made to order omelettes, waffles and pancakes, plus bacon, sausage, hash browns. Perfect Sunday morning spot!!

We walked in for the VERY affordablely priced Sunday brunch buffet, which was pretty decent ; however, the beer was kinda flat but most disappointing was the french toast. Bland, soggy and lacking any flavor and without a doubt...the WORST syrup I've ever had!!
After my initial taco Tuesday visit six years ago I had a long gap due to my personal recovery and life's curve balls. Still a great deal for all you can eat tacos/nachos. Looking into trying their weekend breakfast spread as well. Staff were super friendly!
I kind of like this place. Has a family atmosphere. You the kind whre it slide everyone knows each other, but not territorial. Staff were friendy and the patrons looked well lubricated. Everyone appeared to be Having good time and the karaoke was pretty good
Really good food and nice selection. The patio seating was perfect for dinner and drinks with the office gang after the longest tax season ever. The food wasn’t fast, but we weren’t in a hurry. The drinks were huge (pint glass) for a really good price.
Fun place to watch Blazer games. You could win Blazer tickets on game day! Not many taps though. Slow, slow service.

Great, divey sports bar. Karaoke on Saturday night with a great song list and decent rotation. Good drinks and a diverse, friendly crowd. Usually a little understaffed, but the bartenders are quick so you don't have to wait long.
Came to watch the Preakness and got the tots, wings, and sweet potato fries. All excellent with a great friendly waiter and our food got to us very quick! Good choice of beers and cider on tap and each booth gets their own TV!
Great tasting bar food and friendly staff We come here a lot on our lunch and the food is always fresh and our sodas ( lunch hour so no spirits allowed) are always full. I love the prime rib dip and the chicken club sandwich.

My go-to bar. It's right across the street, all of the bartenders are super nice and welcoming, make a fantastic dirty martini, and even as a sports bar I've never felt uncomfortable there as an LGBTQ identifier.
Great food, I've had almost all the specials and they are a fantastic deal with great service and your own tv. It's a good choice and stands out in an area with a lot of competition for very similar experiences.
The Spicy Peanut is one of my favs. The wings and drums are huge, they're cooked to a perfect crunchy perfection while still being tender and juicy inside.

Good beer selection. I went in for the taco Tuesday special. The food was as expected for an all you can eat taco bar for $4.99. Tvs with remotes at every booth so you can watch any game you choose.
This is a killer little hole in the wall place! The food is amazing and the service was good. What else could you ask for. I cannot recommend their chicken wings highly enough. Absolutely amazing!
Michelle is an amazing server! The best club in town and the best service hands down! I hit this place up before every Blazer game and I've never been disappointed! Check it out. Do it. Do it now!
Two pool tables, video poker machines, hard alcohol, all this covered by 17 security cameras canvassing the entire joint. I felt famous walking in, but this bar is way seedier than that.

Our favorite neighborhood bar! Taco Tuesday is awesome! It’s basically like tacos you’d make at home, but without the work and cleanup, definitely worth the $5 for all you can eat!
Decent food and drinks. Staff is pretty cool and capable but if you have particular sports event you wanna view and can snag a booth with your own tv, this is the place to come to.
Bad service, waited 20 minutes for food order. The bartender ignored us after he served our drinks, there just a few people in this place. So we paid for our beverages and exited.
Sat there for 45 mins and was never asked if we wanted food or drink. Watched the bar tender shovel food into his mouth for 25 mins. Wasn't even busy.Time to find new bar.
A pretty nice neighborhood sports bar, with a very nice Sunday breakfast buffet. The food is good. I'm not much of a drinker, so I couldn't tell you about the cocktails.
Very busy, but only one waitress. Food was good, just took over 40 minutes to receive our order. Hopefully constructive criticism can improve accommodation for guests.
All the staff is absolutely AMAZING!! The most chill spot, especially with summer around the corner. Their new patio are is beautiful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!

All you can eat brunch for $9! What's not to love? It's not trendy or gourmet, but for the price there's no better spot for a boozy brunch on the further east side.
Ok so go here for the breakfast that's on the weekend from 9 to 12, the unlimited chicken strips after 5 on sundays, buck a wing mondays and taco buffet on Tuesday
I like this place. It's pretty big inside. Oh and we won Timbers tickets last time we were in there. It is a dive, which is totally my style but may not be yours.
Awesome Pup, with great food, and a variety of cocktail selections! For us sports fans, or binge watchers, there is a personal TV in each booth!!! Check it out!
One of my favorite bars! Love Carl and Kelly and Jen! They always make us feel welcome and remember us as well. Good food for cheap and great selection of beer.
Went for Sunday NFL brunch. Great deal, good social distancing, good food and all the NFL games you can watch. Booths have their own TVs with Sunday ticket too.
Super fun bar, a TV at almost every table , couple of pool tables great bartenders chill regulars and the food bomb diggety. Can't wait to stop in again.
Sunday breakfast buffet is really good. Omelets are made fresh. I ordered a Spanish coffee, it was not even close to being one. Other drinks were good.
We had a great time time and was very grateful they accomodated us with such short notice for the bachelorette party. The food was delicious also.
Lord have mercy, I've never seen a bar with more tvs! Literally every game in existence was on display. The breakfast buffet was pretty dank too.
Great food with many options. If your looking for comfort food this is the place to go. The staff is all so friendly they treat you like family.
What a great place!! Great service, food, and football! When they say sports bar, they mean sports bar! Thirty some screens. Highly recommend!
The single best burgers anywhere in Portland. The staff is great as well. Great place to catch a game with friends, or just get a great meal.

Late night stop for a bite. Good service. Looks like a fun place with pool tables and lots of TVs. Food was good with a nice vegan burger.
