Only recently realized this was different than the Mendel Museum near the monastery and his gardens (which I’ve been to a few times). This place is small, but does have some cool items from Mendel and the rooms themselves are historic. They have a room set up for children (& adults) to do hands on science to help explain PCR and sequencing. Worth a visit- won’t take more than 30 minutes. Note this part of the museum is in the same building as Moravske Zemske Muzeum. You buy the ticket in the same spot and they direct you to a different entry point up stairs.

One of the best museum that I visited. I payed 100 CZK (with student discount). The first part of the museum is dedicated to Mendel's life and work. The second part is an exposition about genetics (what is a cell, DNA, heredity, genetic diseases, breeding, GMOs..). With lots of activities for playful learning, ideal for kids. If you are interested in science (especially biology), the Mendelanium is a must-see in Brno.

Bardzo mała wystawa, dwa pomieszczenia - w jednym historia Mendla, w drugim kilka eksponatów- wszystkie opisy po czesku o czym nie zostaliśmy poinformowani. Dla obcokrajowców nie rozumiejących czeskiego nie warta zwiedzania.

Small. I am sure I would have been interested if there was anything in English. The Museum doesnt have to cater to me, but it would have been nice if the receptionist had let me know beforehand.

Hodně malá expozice, byla jsem trochu zklamaná. Jakmile se tam sejde víc lidí, je to organizačně dost náročné, hlavně kvůli tomu úvodnímu výtahu. Ale mají moc milý personál.

Si visita molto velocemente... Piccolo, ma interessante. L'audio-guida spiega molto bene i vari argomenti, peccato che non ci siano anche didascalie e cartelli in inglese.

Byli jsme v muzeu fauny které je hned vedle a bylo to super ☺️

An extraordinary museum. Super interactive exposition. Great place with a special atmosphere. Hard to find anywhere else. You have to see it!
