"Super cute, quaint spot! A friend highly recommended this place to go and do some work while also to enjoy great coffee"
"Located in a cute neighborhood and cutely decorated interior"
"This place has become one of our go-to places"
"Before i was an employee at this wonderful University Heights cafe, i was a regular getting acai bowls (yes, with gluten free granola)and a coconut milk lavender latte daily! I'm not sure if its the zen atmosphere of the back patio, the customer base , the availability of delicious creative options for all types of eaters and caffeine drinkers- vegan, vegetarian, nut free, gluten free dairy free etc but it seems to me this place nailed all the qualities hard to find if you eat/drink with restrictions; overall I'm just extremely happy this cafe came to such a cute neighborhood that fits right in with the uniqueness and friendliness of San Diego"
"Street parking can be tough but it’s a very cute spot"
Super cute, quaint spot! A friend highly recommended this place to go and do some work while also to enjoy great coffee. It is quiet, clean, and does not seem too hectic or overly crowded as other places. Ordering is easy as well they have to go or to have there. On the side of the register they have a relatively big container with water if you would like and they also have an outdoor patio which is really cool because the place doesn’t look too big at all but it is actually pretty spacious with lots of seating. I mostly encountered women there working on their laptops when I went on a Tuesday afternoon and one guy walked in to order a regular coffee to go and left super quick. There is wifi and it is written on a small sign just near the register as well. They do also sell food, but I have not yet tried it. Will do soon and post the update.

Parking
There are a lot of parking spaces and street parking available however I did not find any right in front or nearby on that street. I had to park just around the corner which isn’t far at all just about a 3 minute walk at most.
Located in a cute neighborhood and cutely decorated interior. Waited almost 10 minutes at the register before anyone could take my order. Got my double espresso and croissant within 5 minutes of ordering, so that looked positive. But then waited another 50 minutes for my Classic bowl - which never came out. Large parties and families that came way after me instantly got their meals and I never did. I asked for a refund that they issued and they offered a complimentary bowl but I had far lost their trust by then. I don’t know if it’s how I looked, something I did/said, or if it was just really bad luck - but it soured my morning feeling like I wasn’t welcomed by them at their restaurant. Their bowls look great - I just wouldn’t know because I was left to starve and then offered a pity bowl.

This place has become one of our go-to places. We typically will get a coffee or a golden milk, and also a bagel+cream cheese and california bagel. However, I have to say that beyond the cute and expansive patio, the solid, reliable and pretty large menu choices, the staff is really just great here. They really didn’t have to do this, but one time, my 5yr old daughter needed to use the restroom and the gentleman who was cleaning up let us in to use the facilities even though the place was closed, and they were even nice enough to give my daughter some unsold pound cake from that day. As a mom, helping my 5yr old avoid a potty accident when I had no change of clothes on hand, and a hangry/cranky child - this gentleman will be jn my heart forever. Beyond this isolated incident, the staff always just seems focused on taking good care of us. They are very flexible and

Street parking can be tough but it’s a very cute spot. Beautiful and cute little vibe. Coffee has always been good (not amazing but solid). Today the wifi was slower than normal so I had to leave but last time I was here it was fine. Will update again. Acai bowls are good! Other food options aren’t the best. The avocado toast and sandwich that were ordered were decent but we added eggs and the server confirmed but the kitchen missed it. Chips that come on the side of the sandwich were delicious!

Very pleasant atmosphere, maybe a bit too quiet to the point that makes you feel you're in a library. Eventually the fitting style of the music gets you settled in and you can almost enjoy the coffee. The coffee (or at least the one we tried) is about average. The polite and super helpful barista told us that they use one type of coffee (nothing wrong with that) and made us our drinks with extra care, which is more than one can ask for. Meraki as far as I understand implies that something is made with extra care and passion, which seems to be the case here. Cool place, would come here to read a book or work on a laptop; also adds coolness to the area.
Meraki is a very cute coffee shop located in a quiet neighborhood. For several months, my partner and I would walk our dogs to Meraki and get lattes. The coffee is really good and I've had great experiences with staff. My biggest issue is and will be the time it takes to get coffee or food. Unless there is magically no one in line, your coffee will take at least 10-15 minutes to be made (longer on weekends). I've only ordered food once and can't say I will again. It took a very long time to make a small sandwich, side salad, and coffees which ending up costing over $30 when it was all said and done. Try it out, just make sure you have the time.
Wonderful iteration of this space. Probably the best iteration yet as the legacy of businesses that have lived here were nice but not as inviting as this. I remember looking at this space a number of years ago when it was available once for a plant based food and wellness collective. The location is clutch and there's so much character to the uniquely divided space. Today I ordered a tropical smoothie, a cold brewed ice coffee and a chicken kale Caesar salad. Loved everything. The smoothie was perfect and just barely sweet! 5 star rating

For point of reference, the ownership changed hands sometime in the first half of 2022. Before 2022, this place was consistently a 5/5. Now, I'd be hard pressed to rate it higher than 3/5. Many of the recipes are still the same, but the quality is hit or miss. My main issues stem from the bagel sandwiches: they often come out sliced unevenly, aren't toasted enough, and the egg is typically cold. Real shame, as they used to be my favorite. Hopefully they can improve. Last time, they even got the vegetarian order wrong.

Cute and minimalist cafe with a really beautiful patio area in the back. the food consists of açaí bowls, toasts, sandwiches and a handful of other typical cafe options. What stands out is the coffee , I’ve loved every single beverage I’ve gotten there. The Mexican mocha or horchata latte are my go-tos. Only bummer is Wi-Fi can be finicky. Sometimes it works fine, other times it disconnects every 5 minutes (I’ve been with friends when it happens so I know it’s not just my laptop) But other than that 10/10. I’ll use my hotspot for a guaranteed good cup of coffee and calm atmosphere
The baristas are hit and miss here. Sometimes they are crafting amazing coffee, other times it’s dull. They are not very organized either, running a confusing combination of numbers, buzzers, and calling out orders. Even they goof on how a customer knows to get their order. The inside is cute and spacious. The back is also spacious but not very clean and quite rundown looking. For the prices they charge, it should all be better.

One of the best cafes in San Diego! Maybe the best! They only open until 5 pm though, so check the hours first before you go there. They have outdoor and indoor seats. I prefer the outdoors when it's warm enough (thank god for San Diego weather!). Although inside it's pretty cute as well. Now the food! I mostly eat acai and man, I think they have the best acai in San Diego! I have tried every single acais they have and each of them are delicious! But they have other food and of course coffee, tea and many things as well.
The food and their drinks were super tasty!:) They also have outlets in a little small room! I think this is a nice place to have brunch with family and friends or a study cafe for students! The tables might be a but low,but everything is amazing here! They have lot of outdoor sitting as well!

I had turkey&brie sandwich and acai bowl. They were both disappointing given how much they cost. Ingredients for the sandwich tasted like what you can easily get at a grocery store, with very stingy portion. Unevenly distributed toilet paper thin brie cheese and turkey slices. For $12, you can get so much better food at other places. I’m not sure about coffee as I have not tasted. Very spacious.

You don't have to be vegan to enjoy the best lunch in West Palm Beach. Avocado sandwich was awesome. and the bread was perfect - not too dense just right complement for the avocado and omg the zucchini bacon. Seriously you have to try it. Also ordered the tuna sandwich. Again a true winner in taste, texture and blend of ingredients. Finished off with a chocolate chip cookie. Oh my!

Bright and relaxed place to get a morning coffee. Spacious back patio with lots of shade. Pet friendly with leash tethers on the front patio. All the regular coffee and tea drinks you love. Acai bowls and breakfast bagels available. I've spent lots of time here studying and appreciated the more peaceful atmosphere here than some of the other coffee shops in university heights.

Just got my 2 drinks 30 minutes later!! Had to ask if they were still making it and they had just started. Coffee drinks are okay. Just found out they charge $1 for ice in a drink. $1 for ice really? Will find a different place for coffee. EDIT: not sure I understand the response by the owner. Here’s a picture of the menu. Plain as day “make it iced for $1”. Adding ice to a bigger cup doesn’t mean you used more milk and coffee. Don’t lie.
I love this place. Everything I've ordered from here has been excellent, including their avocado toast, a smoothie, two types of acai bowls, and several different lattes. The staff is always willing to answer questions and super friendly. The inside is simple but welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating aplenty. Although I live technically in walking distance, it is also nice that there is usually ample street parking nearby.
Meraki Café has a quaint outdoor patio surrounded by trees and plants. It's the perfect spot to meet a friend for lunch and have great conversations. Drinks and food are delicious from salads to sandwiches, bowls or smoothies.

I love this place! I always enjoy the turkey sandwich with cranberry, and their açai bowls are great as well. I can't get enough of the classic smoothie – it hits the spot every time. Outdoor seating in the back is absolutely lovely, especially for a chill study session. I would give 5 stars, but a lot of times when I'm relying on their wifi, I end up having to use my hotspot instead; it can be a little spotty on the back patio.
Love this place and go all the time! I’ve had a variety of the açaí bowls and loved every one. Very fresh fruit, well priced, relaxing bright atmosphere. Several tables both inside and outside and all equally enjoyable to sit at! The lattes have all been delicious, but definitely do vary in consistency/proportion I guess depending on who makes it. All the employees I’ve interacted with have been very kind and attentive!
So tragic! This place was amazing about 2 years ago. I came back after moving away, and was sad to see the quality has gone way done. They no longer bring the food to you and the salad was very mediocre (used to be one of my favorite salads in San Diego). I hope they see this and try to get back to their roots. Prices also went way up!

Have lived in the neighborhood for years and Meraki never disappoints!! Particularly love their açaí bowls, Meraki’s Garden smoothie, and chicken pesto sandwich. Service can be on the slow side, but I know this now and stop by to take a nice break while walking the dog or call my order in. All the staff are friendly and hard-working! So glad to have this spot nearby.
My favorite cafe! Super sweet staff, great coffee, and I always get the California bagel on jalapeño cheese bread. So refreshing and good portion sizes. The back patio is such a vibe. I always find easy parking too.

I stopped in for an Acai Bowl and it was perfect! A little less expensive than some other places at $7.25 and it was delicious! I got the tropical acai and it was packed with acai and granola and blueberries and pineapple and coconut. It was ready super fast, and I got a parking spot right out front! I would definitely return.
I'm sorry, it was so delicious that I couldn't take a photo of it in time. As we Boricuas say, this place is a 20/10! ❤️

Neighborhood place I go to every once in a while. The coffee is okay/good. The food is Interesting . Some of the items are better then others. They have a great garden/ patio area which is a plus on a perfect San Diego day. Not my favorite in the hood but a adequate option.
Nice coffee shop in University heights. Looks small and modest from the outside but is bigger with their outdoor patio. Expansive menu on coffee and food. And best of all, a good spot to get a couple hours of studying in. Other shops in the nearby, walkable area is a plus.

What a gem! Great place to chill, study, work or take a date. The back yard patio seating is our favorite. As self-proclaimed “connoisseurs” of açaí bowls and cafe food, Meraki has some of our favorites! Definitely a great spot!!!
Perfect for those looking to grab a quick bite to eat. We really liked the patio seating and were pleased with our meal there. The service was excellent, and we plan to return in the future to catch up with each other. More
Wonderful backyard with ample seating spaces. Easy to maintain social distance. Very good food options - nova lox was delicious. Cappucino was good too. Friendly staffs. Overall, one of my favorite coffee shops in town.
Delicious cafe style food and teas. My toddler loves the garden smoothie. We love the breakfast and lunch sandwiches, empanadas, and oatmeal. We usually get a side of egg and avocado for my young toddler’s breakfast.
If you want to taste Paris pastries Meraki is the place to go. Coffee is beyond expectations it’s flavor is rich and fresh I definitely recommend Meraki. Costumer service is super good they are fast and professional.
