This is such a horrible grocery store with poor customer service. The assistant manager called out a shoplifter a few weeks ago in front of everyone by yelling, threatening and agitating the potential shoplifter. This was so unprofessional and could place everyone’s lives at risk. No respectable retailer does this. For what? Just to save $20. Metro reported $25 million dollar increase in sales since last year and this manager was having a power trip. As if this corporation cares about her. She should be fired for going on a power trip. This place has inflated prices, and is only good for convenience since it’s located by several condos. Customer service is horrible, they don’t honour the scanning code of practice, the employees look tired and unhappy. A lot of the onions, potato’s, had flies around them. No returns because of Covid…. They don’t allow dogs in even though this is such a pet friendly area and dogs are on leashes. Check the prices on your meat as meat items on sale often have the wrong prices per kilogram. The list goes on and on.
Store closes at 10pm. Showed up at 9:30 to buy lotto. Everything cleared out. Asked to buy lotto and was told they close at 9:30. Confused I ask why they close at 9:30 when the store is open until 10. Was told it’s just what they do. I asked if that was what they were instructed to do by management and they said no we just do it. So I asked to speaker to the manager. They paged Joe. I asked Joe what time lotto closes as he said store closes at 10 but lotto is at 9:45. I said ok I want to buy lotto it’s 9:36 and they say they it closes at 9:30. Joe then says well if that’s what management said then that’s what it is. I said but you are the manager and you just said 9:45. He then says well I’m only the acting manager and you can go buy lotto at 5 different places. Awesome Joe. I live upstairs but nice to know that I should go else where.
The store had a lot of specialty items, and rarely found products which was nice. The vegetable section was pretty small, but so was the store. I wanted to pick up some pre-made salads (containing lettuce) which turned out not to be a great location for this because their selection was almost nonexistent. If you want fancy cheese, I recommend them, as well as if you are looking for deli-type bean or pasta salads and other foods of that type. Overall, seemed a bit pricier than other locations that I've been to, but maybe it's because they are located under a condominium. Many items that I wanted I wasn't able to find, as well as many items listed in their flyer that week.
I’ve bought off meat four times in a row now from this store. The only thing it has going for it is the convenience of being close to me but it just isn’t worth the potential consequences of eating their rancid meat. The previous time the assistant was actually rude which was interesting considering I was polite and simply came to get a refund for the rancid produce they sold me not 12 hours earlier. The smell their meat gives off after less than a day is a stench you’d struggle to get if left it behind a radiator for a fortnight. Ridiculous. Will be calling someone about this as I have no doubt corners are being cut and old produce is being labeled as new.
The Manager of the seafood department in this Metro is outstanding. She always gives excellent advice on the best seafood selections. Whether it is my usual two pieces of salmon twice or a fresh new choice of Metro seafood. It is always a pleasure to talk her about seafood. The store shelves are far better stocked now (post covid restrictions) but often finding exactly what I could usually purchase remains a challenge. This Metro does not restrict dogs from being in the store, which makes for surprizes while shopping. I continue to shop at this store mainly because of the excellent manager in the seafood department.
This location has a smaller footprint versus a 'full sized' Metro Grocery Store but it is clean and easy to shop. It caters well to the locals and condo dwellers. It even has a Starbucks but only 3 or 4 chairs to sit on. It you want a full sit down coffee break, you may have to go elsewhere but the take it to go service is spot on. Metro is a high-ish priced grocery store to budget minded shoppers but the presentation and selection quality is above par. This location is good for many food things but sooner or later you'll have to shop elsewhere to get what you need.
Worst customer service. Staff is disrespectful and rude. We have been shopping here for more than four years, recently feel like being targeted by a staff at self checkout. Been here twice recently and was asked by the same person about whether I scanned an item. Felt really annoyed by their behavior and the ridiculous excuse they make to justify their behavior. Talked to manager, who did not offer any resolution or apologies. We are very disappointed, will go to Sobeys or other stores nearby as there are tons of grocery stores around the area.
Not many selections to choose from and the store is very small. If you have money to spent on overpriced groceries I recommend you head over to Sobeys in the plaza a few minutes away for ample parking and a massive store with tons of selection. Otherwise, head to a budget friendly grocery store to save on food. If people don't know you can get the same products at the budget friendly places for cheaper, and they are the same product, as they come from the same supplier. Nothing changes except for the nicer looking store
Nice, clean and fresh, love the bakery. Every week, they have good deals on some food, veggies, fruits and special offers on Air Miles. Just found out that at this Metro store, you can buy Tim Hortons coffee capsules which is compatible with Nespresso original coffee machines. First I'm not sure it'll fit the machine, so I just bought one box containing 10 capsules and it fits well my Nespresso machine. I like Tim Hortons coffee and now I can enjoy Tim Hortons coffee by using Nespresso machine.
Good grocery store option. Produce is good quality, overall selection is good but not great due to its smaller size vs the nearby Sobeys or even the No Frills on Royal York. Baked goods are surprisingly decent compared to other grocery store bakeries though. Feels like they're actually trying. They're a little low on checkouts though so you really want to try and avoid psi times unless you like waiting in lines. The deli section is a nice bonus
This place has everything thing you would need for your day to day grocery needs along some really good selection of meats, bakery and cakes. They also have some freshly made pizzas etc for takeout. It's a great place to have in the neighborhood. Nice place to pick a quick snack and head to the shore. This place also has a Starbucks within the store for your coffee needs.
This metro is very convenient if you need any groceries, as it has almost everything most other metros would have... and some. There's a good variety of items. The close proximity to Harbourfront means this is a great location for a balance of convenience and selection. Alot of people come here too, so you can expect your produce to be fresh.
Fairly good store, lack of selection. The products that Metro manufacturers themselves are very lackluster. Example: the saddest pizza I've ever seen. I double checked; Metro does indeed make this pizza. A scoop of meat in the center and a handful of cheese sprinkled around. Can see more pizza dough than toppings. This is not a pizza, metro.
Went in to get some lunch. Bought the 8.99 chicken combo. Had no sides besides fries. And when I asked about the dipping sauce and other options that's included in the combo got told it was all extra. Why bother grouping it with the combo then? Chicken was good. But sweet potato fries were incredibly soggy. And no wedges available.
The stupid self checkout is a joke, you have line ups of 30 people plus trying to wait and use the checkouts. The layout is terrible, thank goodness I don't live there and have to use this metro everyday. I would probably find a new store if I didn't live in the condos above. They did have nice fire oven pizza though!!!!
Great one stop shop for any grocery needs. Their beer section at this metro is great, usually between here and the LCBO across the street you get a huge variety of beers. The hours could use improvement and I wish they would treat the star bucks employees inside like actual Starbucks employees... Cheap of you metro.
Convenient for small residents who seeking for their health . Recommend the fresh vegis and fruits, variaty of salads and sources, baked bread, and oven-ready seafood. They also sell beers and ciders !! (Even there is a LCBO just in front of them) But I don't recommend their food dishes like sushi, and pasta.
I’ve bought expired meat here.. Moldy pack of dried figs.. and now my flowers died that I purchased yesterday. How is this place still allowed to stay open? How on gods green planet are some of you giving 5 stars to this location? Metro is definitely making their employees write reviews lol doesn’t make sense
Not sure who has the tender for the fresh produce but alot of the time the fruit and vegetables are stocked with items that are not fresh. Go and look at your onions, oranges, lemons, coriander, tomatoes. Don't leave decomposing items on your shelves, compared to longos, metro fresh produce is sad
Great store, good location and has almost everything you. Lots of parking (surface and underground). Love having the Starbucks inside, so ideal for a quick coffee grab whilst doing the grocery shopping. Good range of instore made meals and pizza as well as a good selection of cheese too.
Open from 8 am to 10 pm everyday!!! One of very few grocery stores to be open for long hours all days through the week. Plenty of parking space. They don’t have a pharmacy. Although shopper’s drug mart right opposite the store. Good discounts on bakery and prepared food items.
before even walking in you choke on clouds of smoke from every employee smoking directly at the front doors including management. Store constantly smells like garbage, and they refuse to get rid of the freezer burnt ice cream and replace it with something actually edible
3 times bought a Mixed Melon Mania salad. All 3 times the cantaloupe and honeydew was not ripe. Why cut up fruits if they're not ripe? Isn't the produce staff trained to tell which fruit is close to ripeness?? Definitely won't be purchasing fruit salads here again.
Food quality has gone down considerably in this store in the recent months. It’s not uncommon to see mouldy produce on the shelves and rotting/gooey salads greens. The store is frequently out of stock. We have stopped going to this store altogether nice last week.
I think that Metro's, . . .including this specific store are the best of the higher end grocery stores. I love most stores meat sections, specifically red meat. I ran I to my best meat buying deal ever at a metro, . . . It was astounding.
Great store, excellent fresh fish, deli. High turnover of products as it is always very busy. The parking outside is chaotic. The lower level free parking is difficult to navigate. If you are walking, this is the best store in the area.
Absolutely abysmal produce selection. Things are either bad upon unpacking or go bad quickly. Limited options. I shop here because it’s right downstairs but I’m going elsewhere from now on because I’m tired of wasting my money here.
come to the Metro if you want the cashier to “accidentally” give you less change. And he expected you not to notice. I just wonder how many people he left deceived in a day. On what basis do they hire people to work in this store?
Isha is amazing help give that girl a raise! This grocery store has to have the worst self checkout machines, always errors. Prices and weights should be registered by store owner. Fix this self checkout machines please.
It has a little bit of everything but its size limits how much of everything it has. It has a great location and is convenient but it will never have everything you're looking for. The Starbucks adds a star though
Bought a bag of cheese... expiry date was good and to my eyes looked fresh.... bring it home there is fungus on the cheese when I brought it back manager was hesitant to give me a new bag ......
Your employees hate their jobs and it shows. Produce and bakery section poorly maintained. 8 containers of rotten spinach ??? Boxes of produce just left unpacked for customers to take from.
Live near this place (I come here a lot). Store is really great has the things you need, front of the entrance smells terrible as usual but other than that is fine. Great variety of foods
If I had to critique, the front entrance is too narrow for the volume of foot traffic. Cart carrel, entrance and the exit from tills all filter into one narrow space.
Clean store with a good selection of fruit/veg and pre packaged items but the rest of the store has very limited choices and selection as if It’s in a small town
Excellent grocery shopping experience at this Metro. The store is always well maintained, organized and clean.. what else could we ask for?
Ver convenient if you live in one of the buildings above but if you are driving you are much better off going to the Sobeys on queens way.
Very easy to get a parking ticket at this location. And it's not a city fine ,which is around $44, it's a private company charging $85-$98.
$8 for a small package of bagels, and they were mouldy. Phone calls to the store for remedy are hung-up on without even being picked up.
You can find most of your essential groceries here. There is Starbucks inside this place. Nice bakery with fresh breads.
Nicely organized, the workers at the hot food stand are always kind. I go at random times, but never find it overcrowded
Great local store. Clean, well-stocked and quick to navigate. It's got a great bakery and also a Starbucks inside.
Good store. Groceries are a bit costly here, but their quality is superior to others.
Great customer service with all the staff. I wish the prices would come down.
Good shoping store. They did not have peaches and cocoa
Really nice decoration and good choice of food
I love me some over priced produce …
Good staff and security guard so polite
