UPDATE: I went there again from Dallas, September/October, the experience was the same, the people in here is great, special mention to Lic. Rocio Alvarez , she is very nice and helpful, took the time to explain to us what we need and what to do , very attentive , respectful and professional !!! I dont care to drive 4-5 hours one way to do any paperwork in there, this place its awesome! the other consulates, specially the Dallas one should learn from them! Also special mention to the security guard , apologies i didnt got his name, very nice guy and professional , also was great with my 4yo , he showed sympathy and respect, even gave my boy a snack bar ! Keep up the good work guys! Wow, my experience was great, drove from Dallas to renew my passport since in Dallas its impossible to get an appointment unless you pay for it. My appointment was at 10 and at 11 i had my new passport in hand, great service and really fast, you guys rock!
My father had an appointment to obtain a Notary Document. The Security officers were kind and helpful. Once we were in, the worker was rude and unprofessional. My father has mobility issues and is visually impaired. The worker told my father that he could not obtain a document if he didn’t know how to read or write even though he does but has a disability that impairs him from doing so. I was there to support him as it is a reasonable accommodation to support someone with a clear disability. The woman told him “Do you even know how to read? You need to read this document if not I can’t help you.” I have NEVER in my life seen such discrimination before. My father struggled to read and sign his name to prove to her that he can read and write. This is ridiculous that they allow people like her to be employed there.
A really bad experience over all, first it does not matter what time your appointment is because its a first come first serve kind of situation. The friendliest staff member you get to encounter is the security officer outside trying hard to get answers for people waiting in the sun and making sure the lines are running smoothly. Once you enter the building that's when things change, the clerks specially the one in the document check window is very rude. You need to make sure your are not missing a single piece of information ( even if its a contact name and number) because they will send you to the back of the line to start again or they will make you reschedule. I understand how overwhelming it is to see a lot of people but one must stay professional at all times.
They have a security company that only speak English and is a lot of people that does not speak English, so it get really hard for the people to even ask a question. The guy at the door try his best to understand but I think is very bad to have some one that does now speak English in a Mexican Consulate, the service inside is like always in Mexico or any other government building. With this corrupted, omnipotent people indeed that they truly believe that they are doing a big favor helping people. They do not have a clue about customer service, and they all have an actitud if you asked them a questions. Horrible experience
There are too many bad reviews from Mexican fellows(disapointing) but just had to tell them and every Mexican we have to honor our country first by behaving the same way we behave in this great country in the Mexican consulate every representative is kind and efficient if they dont take people out of there soon is customer fault in the web page they clearly post what to bring so dont expect changes you have to pay exact cash what a big deal?? Been trying for months to make an appointment online or in the phone they published. Is ridiculous that every MX consulate has an appointment available in all Texas, Except for this one where we reside.. San Antonio TX. Wake up we need service. Is so frustrating following what the process is to make an appointment but no answer, no appointments, we call Main office in MX. and they can’t even get an answer, everywhere else in Texas ok, but not San Antonio TX. Who that we need to call to address this problem?? If any one knows please.. maybe Media tv ??
I have been trying get a Matricula Consular in order to travel to Mexico and not have to pay the tourism tax for weeks. The consulate requires you to have an appointment to process the ID. They have a published website for setting appointments which is non operational and when you call the published phone number to make an appointment after the long hold times you are told that they are unable to set an appointment and you call back at another time. This is so very frustrating.
Security officer organized everybody in different lines to identify what they were there to accomplish. Lines moved smoothly. Consulate personnel were very helpful. Found out senior citizens don't need appointment also 50% off passport cost. Only problem is non spanish speaking person assisting everyone, and calling for appointments was difficult. No information about seniors over phone conversation. plenty Spanish speakers in line to assist. Over all experience was excellent.
Absurd and ridiculous experience. It's practically impossible to get an appointment on the phone or online. Then if you show up early and wait outside they will only accept maybe three or five people in and send everyone who doesn't have an appointment away. Even worse, practically the entire staff shows up late to work! To top it all off if you're lucky to get in you will be treated by the most rude staff imaginable. The lack of professionalism is inexcusable.
In order to set an appointment you MUST call on MONDAY!! This is the only actual day you can get someone to answer and give you an appointment. But be aware the customer service reps. will give you an impossible time and will be rude at any expense. I had Alejandra Gutierrez and I could not hear her very well and she was extremely rude but all you can do is be nice since you need the appointment scheduled.. HOPE this tip works!
The security guard was rude we were told senior citizens don’t need a appointment when my father was trying to schedule over the phone. We found out this new tip but when we arrived the security guard ran us off he wasn’t 65 he’s 62. In the United States you’re considered a senior citizen if you’re over the retirement age or 62 and older. He was rude and he didn’t let me speak to the supervisor for confirmation.
I put 1 star because I can put -5. Is ridiculous all the bureaucracy. My mother is almost 80 and very sick in Mexico, and are asking me get a letter where doctor say she going to die soon. And IF the MEXICAN CONSULER decides if he can give me the stupid Mexican passport. OR I need give a officer the typical "mordida" to cross to my own country " Seriously
It is unclear if an appointment is necessary for notary services and I am a senior citizen. I registered and there are no appointments and when I called the 424 phone number the person does not know. She says it is a general information line and she does not know what San Antonio requires. This is very disappointing
This place is very friendly. They are strict on appointments though so do not do a walk in without an emergency. Also, note that even if you have an appointment at, lets say, 11:30 am your appointment is not for that time. You will wait until your number is called. So don't worry about showing up very early.
Your website is HORIBBLE. When calling, the audio is terrible. When they finally answer the representative talks impressively fast but I cannot even get one word in without them speeding through their entire dialogue. I understand that they do this 24/7 however, is it possible to slow down?
If I could I would give 0 stars this is unacceptable. I have been calling for MONTHS to renew my ID, but everytime I call they tell me the same thing that there's no appointments available like what?? It can't be that busy, c'mon GET IT TOGETHER!!!!! …
With my most recent visit,I had made an appointment online, got there and was seen fast. The lady that helped me was very kind and helpful, really sweet too. Only had to visit a handful of times and every time the people have been amazing and very helpful.
The only complaint i see from my visit is the security guard for 1. not speaking Spanish at a Spanish speaking consulate (thankfully i am bilingual but i can see this being a problem for those who do not speak english very fluently.) and 2.
The representatives you call to make appointment tell you the system is down because they don't know what they are doing. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hanged up. Their system to make an appointment is impossible. It's like they
I have visited this palace several times with different family members. Staff from this place is good helping people. Waiting time is sometimes longer depending of how much people is visiting. Something that I don’t like is that they need
Bad experience, website did not have specific information related to my case available and I had to make an appointment because no one answers the phone, it goes straight to a voicemail box that is full. Of course does not provide parking
You can never get an answer when you call and there phone system tells you leave a message or press "star" to get a operator and all it does is goes back to leave a message. Its horrible that they cant have enough employees to rotate the
Impossible to talk to a human by phone Trying to make an appointment by phone and asked for a code that I don't have an idea what it is. Trying on line and for the password it's not accepting any letter, number and non numerical sign.
The visa team was very helpful and cooperative in ensuring that I had gathered all of the proper information- even suggesting ways to do it that would be more efficient. They reached out to me on a couple of occasions to re-confirm
Going o ready like five times for birth certificate asking for updates Mexican id been there for 30yrs how I'm going to have one show my TV idid not valid on Mexican counsol so to much Mexican ego to help out another Mexican.
They were absolutely helpful beginning with security guard outside, gentleman at window 1, and lady at the window across from window 1. All of them courteous and so professional. Thank you for your assistance.
This place it’s sucks they treat you like they doing a favor for you and They make you wait outside on the heat They should make a a better place improvement with all the money they making
Workers are nice. However making people wait outside in 103° for there appointment is Ridiculous. Unacceptable especially when you're waiting for two to three hours in the hot sun.
I had a great experience visiting the Mexican Consulate office. Very friendly staff, they work efficiently. The lady that helped me was Mrs. Alvarez, she did an excellent job.
They were very kind and got back to me within minutes. Dallas was closed and Austin didn’t even have a number to speak to an operator. By far the best consulate.
Most outdated appointment system .. Jurassic Park ))) can’t get appointment online or via phone for my passport for 3 weeks already. Terrible service
This review is a tourist's point of view. This happens to be yet another beautiful building in downtown San Antonio. I love the architecture.
Really amazing! I got the passport in less than an hour, although be sure to have money in cash! They don't accept debit/credit card!
Big line just to get information. No one answers the phones. Hard to get an appointment for any process. This is ridiculous!
Very polite staff, they help as much as possible and when they can't they let you know they why and how it can be fixed
Excellente servicio. Make sure you make an appointment online!
Didn't go there, I was working across the street …
Good service, well organized, nice people.
