I came to this location to return earrings that I bought while at a location in the Niagara region. The sales lady in the Niagara region assured me that if I were to change my mind about the earrings that I could return them to any location near me. My closest Michael Hill store was unfortunately the one in Dufferin mall. While there, the sales associates were adamant that they couldn't return my earrings, despite having the receipt and the earrings unworn, because according to them they would have to send them to head office. I tried to tell them that I've read their return policy which is why I went there in the first place and was confused as to why they kept repeating to me for 15 minutes that they couldn't return my item because they'd have to send it to head office. I didn't understand why that would be an issue for them. Would they get in trouble with head office for doing that? I told them that I bought them in the Niagara region and was told that I could return them at any location but all the associates, including the store manager, insisted that they couldn't do the refund for me and that I would have to return them to the location they were purchased. This was the first time I returned something that I purchased from Michael Hill so I left thinking maybe they changed their policy in the one week that passed between me purchasing the earrings and trying to return them. Something didn't feel right with their explanation to me so I spoke with a live chat agent online who then told me that I was correct and could indeed return my earrings at any location and to ask to speak to the store manager if I was told that I couldn't. I went back into Michael Hill and as soon as they saw me they all started to snicker to themselves as if they knew that they were caught in their lie. I told them exactly what the live agent told me and finally the store manager agreed to return my earrings with no fuss. This experience has really stained my loyalty to the company as I used to purchase jewelry from them frequently both online and in person. That was some of the worst customer service experience I've had to go through. I left feeling undignified and was pushed to feel guilty and belittled for trying to return a purchase which no one should ever feel, especially with some of the prices their jewelry sell for. Reading through some of the other reviews I seriously don't know how anyone in this location is still employed. I am now far more hesitant to purchase from this company at all considering the challenges I'd have to face in order to return something if I don't end up liking an item. Buyer beware.

DO NOT BUY AT THIS STORE! They are scammers with unethical sales techniques. My fiancé bought me a ring last year that was too big. The sales person told him not to worry, you can propose with it and then come back and we'll exchange it for the right size, if need be. Which we did. After the proposal, we ordered the right size. They told us it'll be here within 2 months, took almost 4! I finally got the ring and now I'm purchasing one for my fiancé for our wedding day. I bought it and even told them that the wedding isn't until August. They said that we can always come back and exchange it after the wedding if need be (keep in mind we had done the same thing previously and it was fine) but to our surprise, the VERY rude and condescending assistant manger told me that I can not return it because it's been over 30 days. The policy was NEVER explained to me when I bought it (or to my fiancé when he bought his). The EXTREMELY rude manager told me and my fiance that it was our responsibility to go to the Michael Hills website to check the return. And that we should have asked. Let alone that this same person offered me a "discount" if I bought the 2nd ring with them. I wasn't going to and she gave me over $100 discount to close the sale. They are VERY unethical. I regret that I didn't check the reviews earlier because I can see we weren't the first ones to get screwed over and sadly we won't be the lasts. TERRIBLE! UNETHICAL! DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I made an exchange on an item that was purchased for me from a family member who lives out of province. I also purchased an additional item and a warranty. I was told I would be called once my additional item was ready for pick up. Once I arrived to pick up my item I realized the sales associate left my entire purchase and warranty in my family member's name. As such, I was not able to pick up my item with my ID even though I had made the exchange and I paid an additional $100+ for the extra item and I paid for the warranty. They left my entire purchase in someone else's name. () I had to leave and return with the sales receipt - which I did. I asked them to put the order and warranty into my name as this seemed to make sense since I purchased it. They refused and insisted it's their policy to keep all exchanged items + additional items purchased in the original purchaser's name. What an insane policy. Never have I heard of my own purchase and warranty being left in another parties name. This makes NO sense and speaks volumes to the level of business acumen this Establishment posses. Now I understand why they are tucked away in Dufferin mall. Never will I return to such a poorly run business.

Nov 7th...Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever received in my life. The lady at the counter refused an online return even though I was in the window if the 30 day upon receiving return policy. Continued to argue with me after I proved when the online order was received. I actually had to contact online live customer service to report the issue while I was in the store!!!!! The live agent actually asked for the woman's name and she refused to give it!! The online live agent then continued to call the store and demand that they accept my return. Furthermore the lady at the store then said there was scratches on the ring not seen by the naked eye! She just didn't want to accept an online return. She continued to argue and argue with me. She was rude, unprofessional, unhelpful, and completely uneducated in Michael Hills online return policy. I didn't get her name because she refused to give it but I'm sure when the store manager gets the file complaint from the online customer service agent they will know who I'm describing. I will never, I repeat never go back to this location for anything.

My purchasing experience was fine. The sales representative was helpful and kind. When I brought in my necklace to have it fixed, they were less helpful even though I was guaranteed that they would replace any loose stones for free. When I first brought my receipt and the necklace for them to fix, they urged me to bring in the insurance papers when I brought in the necklace, so they could fix it for free. I did when I went to pick up my necklace. When I arrived to pick up my necklace and showed the sales representative my insurance papers, she threw the insurance papers back at me and said I needed the receipt. Then they said they couldn't give back my necklace, so I asked them are they sure they can't give me back a necklace I paid for even though my information was in the system. She then asked for my ID and couldn't find my necklace. I showed her as evidence my call log that they called me and left a message that my necklace was ready, and then she found it.

If I could award 10 stars, I would gladly do so based on my recent experience at Michael Hill. Despite being a loyal shopper at Tiffany, Pandora, Links of London, I had just now explored Michael Hill. Intrigued by their exceptional sales on sterling silver, I decided to visit the Dufferin Mall location. From the moment I stepped into the store, I received a warm welcome from the staff, and I had the pleasure of being assisted by Zahra. Zahra is truly exceptional at her job. She created a welcoming environment, eliminating any sense of pressure to make a purchase. Instead, she attentively listened to my preferences and provided thoughtful suggestions. When I returned to collect my adjusted bracelet, Zahra showed me more items, and to my surprise, I bought a diamond tennis bracelet in sterling silver. It turned out to be the perfect gift I didn't know I needed, and it's absolutely stunning. Thank you, Zahra, for your genuine and outstanding service!

We tried to return an unworn ring when we found out that unbeknownst to us, we had bought it scratched. There is no policy for them to inspect the ring and to document the state that it was sold, so when we went to return it, they refused and accused us of trying to return a worn ring. We had bought the display ring and discussed this with the manager, who continued to deny that the ring could have had scratches despite being tried on by anyone who walked into the store. Overall, the salespeople are pushy and though they may sell an easy return policy, they will find any way to make sure you aren’t able to return it. Would not recommend purchasing any product from here unless you are 100% sure you won’t be returning it, or if you’re okay with being sold a scratched item.

Right now i give this location a 1 star... i bought a necklace on December 8 and still never got it. I was told it will be there way before Christmas. I called to complain on dec 19th and they said they will call in 1hr. They have to call the other locations to see if they could get necklace. I never got a call back. Called next day and said the same thing and again no call. So i decided to walk in on dec 22 and they said it will be in by end of day and they will call back as soon as it comes in. GUESS WHAT? NO CALL BACK! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAD.... just be straight up if you cant get item on time! Stop giving me the run around!

I had a wonderful experience with Zahra regarding a return. I feel so extremely bad for returning an item she spent so much time trying to get for me :( she was so understanding and sweet about it. I tried to return the ring at yorkdale just because it’s much closer to me and I had a horrible experience there , they kept giving me the run around both times I went in to return the item, finding literally any excuse not to do it. I don’t recommend yorkdale location but I highly encourage anyone looking to buy jewellery to come to dufferin mall and deal with Zahra!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart

We are a couples who had a horrible experience dealing with Michael Hill. She got a Michael hill card and bought me a ring and paid the amount in full the following day. They kept sending her invoices to pay the interest and cancel it everytime when we contact them. The ring was not my size and we brought it here to change the size and it is taking more than 8 weeks to be fixed (they said it will take from 4-8 weeks). This is very bad experience. The quality and customer service are not up to the level for a Jewellery shop. Kindly note that this is based on my personal experience.

Horrible experience at this location with 2 of their employees one of them goes by the name of Saima/Zahra. She was extremely rude and was not willing to look into a purchase I had made for a ring for my husband. She made it seem as if I was lying about purchasing the product at that location. Meanwhile I have an account there which the product is clearly listed on . All I wanted to do was exchange it because it was too big. I reached out to customer service several times to try to rectify the situation but was never contacted back. I will never shop at Michael Hill again!

This company SUCKS. I ordered something online, didn't fit right so I went to return it the next day to a location store. I brought the paper receipt, digital receipt and the card I used. The manager told me she couldn't find my order in the system so I wasn't able to get a refund?? She shrugged and said "try another store." NONE of these stores are anywhere near me. The online chat support wasn't any help either. This company and their staff absolutely suck. Such a waste of time, never ordering from them again. Incredibly disorganized.

Will never be going to this discriminatory location ever because my 13-year-old son was in there and was looking at chains because I, his mother was going to buy him one for Christmas, so he wanted to choose which one he liked - but when he asked the sales associate if he can see it, they asked him to show them his ID. I have been in there before, but I never was asked to show ID and neither has my daughter. So what was the reason why my son was asked to show one? Could it be due to him being a young black boy?

So went in to price a chain to replace one I had on a necklace ... I was given the price and then told it was on sale. I asked what the sale price was so I could take it to my partner and discuss it. The woman flat out says it doesnt matter what the sale price was I wasn't going to buy it. I told her I wanted to know so she sat at the computer and then told me it was slow while trying to justify her comment (she must of saw my face ) I told her not to worry about it and just left I was really uncomfortable.

Horrible customer service The Indian girl i think her name is Priyanka was very rude making judgemental comments, the manager guy was even worse to deal with as he took the employee's side. Was shocked at his behaviour as manager Went in on a different occasion to exchange a ring size i had bought for my mom, had the receipt and original box. Was told they couldn't find the transaction in my account and that i needed to go back to the original store. Very inconveniencing as STC is far for me

The manager Chris is amazing. He helped me pick out, return and pick another engagement ring for my fiance that she absolutely loves. Also went to bat for me when getting a good amount approved for me for financing. We'll come in to see you soon Chris!! We still need wedding bands!! ***update*** we purchased our wedding bands here as well. The woman that helped (shorter brunette, possibly Spanish?) was amazing and professional. I bought a necklace for my mom in Scarborough town center, but she doesn't like it then I decided to return it. Because I live close to Duffrein Mall, I went to this location to return it, this location manager refused to take it and ask me to return to the original purchase location. Just let everyone know if this happen to you please call Michael Hill head office right way! Or call your original purchase loacation. The manager in Duffrin Mall is terrible. Liar!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible customer service. Very unhelpful staff. Phone hardly gets answered. Delayed engagement jewellery due to mistake on their end that they didn't bother to rectify. Ended up getting wedding rings elsewhere. Would never go back to this store.

I bought a ring and asked for an engraving. They charged me 21$ and it took 10 days. When I picked it up, the engraving can't be seen by the naked eye! What's the point of doing it??? Ridiculous.
