I can only speak about the repair center, but it was (and will continue to be) a miserable experience. I went to the store with a simple problem: Three keys on my keyboard for the laptop I use for work were broken. I had to leave and come back three times before they would help me without taking my laptop (again, that I use for work) hostage. They charged me $40 to run diagnostics to find out, lo and behold, three keys on my laptop were broken. I paid to order the parts to replace it, but now I can't get them to actually install the part I paid for. I just returned from my FOURTH time in the store, and they said they couldn't replace the keyboard in the two hours I had before I start working again. They said they could repair it the same day, but no idea when. This wouldn't work for me because, as I said earlier, I need my laptop to work. I ALSO received a text message from them saying that even if I DID get it in, if it's after 5:00PM, they cannot guarantee it will be done that day. So now I cannot send it in before work to be repaired, because two hours is apparently not enough time to install a keyboard, nor can I send it in AFTER work, because I won't even get it until, at best, 9AM the next day, which is when I begin work. So the moral of the story is: don't trust Microcenter with any electronics that actually matter, or to be the slightest bit flexible in accommodating people that, you know, work using electronics. Clearly their policy is "You need to take a day off from work and twiddle your thumbs while we find the time to repair your things". It's genuinely baffling that I'm going to have to go in a FIFTH and likely SIXTH time, just to get three keys on my laptop fixed. I've never been so frustrated with a repair service in my life.
I have a bittersweet experience with MicroCenter. Today was the 3rd time I've visited the store in 20 days to repair my new custom built PC. It's frustrating to my work as this is my livelihood but I have to say the tech support is great here. Shout out to Manuel Lim today for fixing my PC and Kenneth Kim who always responds immediately to any issues I face. I'm a single mother just started running my own business and I've been working late nights figuring out the problems with this PC. But unfortunately, the experience was partially ruined by the behavior of one of the male floor staff dressed in a blazer. While my child was running around the store and I was running tests after my PC was fixed, approached me in a rude manner saying that I need to reprimand my child as he may break the glass for one of the cabinets, especially when my child was not causing any harm or damages. Prior to that, I overheard he spoke to another staff member that he was watching my son running around and said he's not going to do anything and that the mother isn't watching her child. I was taken aback by that experience and felt embarrassed. As a customer, I believe that I should be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of my circumstances. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe and orderly environment in your store, but the way that floor staff approached me was very unpleasant. But again, the staff at the Knowledge bar especially Manual Lim, has been nothing but excellent.
I love micro center. The store itself is great and the last 20 years I had nothing but great experience till 03-03-2023. I purchased online AMD bundle with AMD 7900X, ASUS B650E-F And GSkill Flare X5 Ram. Assembled everything carefully with extra caution not to drop anything in the AM5 socket. AM5 is completely new and unlike AM4 the CPU does not have pins the pins are on the socket. Long story Short the PC would not POST, I've tried everything. Went back to Microcenter to exchange to encounter a disgusting sales supervisor named Derek Houston at Flushing N.Y location he was set on telling me I bent the Socket pin and therefore they cannot exchange it. He didn't even want to reason, No matter what I say he was sure I bent the pin. He assured me in the more thn 2 years he was working there they never had an AM5 factory defect , Strange because AM5 has only been out since September 2022. He even said even if I just bought the MB 30 min ago and came back he would not replace it. Completely disgusting person. I went to a different Micro Center in Long Island and within 3 minutes I was out with the new motherboard and the customer service could not be any better. They even told me that if I have problems again that I can replace it again or use that money towards a different motherboard. I attached the picture of alleged bent pins on the AM5 socket and one with it running in the PC with the DRAM light on.
Micro Center is a great store uniquely focused on computers and related products. They offer more computers and electronic devices than any other retailer, without doubt. There are 4 stores across the NYC, in Flushing, Brooklyn, Yonkers and Westbury. They have better prices comparing with Best Buy, even comparing with Amazon. Compare and you will see. A big selection of laptops, desktops, computer equipment and accessories. The store is huge, with a huge parking space, and with a lot of staff. The only thing is that information from their website are not always accurate. I went there to buy Dell Omen laptop, but it was sold out already. One of associates recommended to me ASUS TUF, a gaming device, but with a higher price. Not so many good options below $1000. But if you want quality, you have to pay for it. However, with some ocassional discounts you can save a couple of hundred $ easily. Those guys have a good deals in general, and there is no space for complaints. Their store in Flushing is close to Main st in Flushing, you can reach them by car or public transport (train 7, beses Q25 and Q34), close to Kissena Blvd. Neat and clean space. Restrooms for customers on premises.
Months later, I can finally write this fair and honest review with confidence. In January, I brought my laptop to this location due to blue screen issues. Just a day later, the staff informed me that it was caused by malware. However, the blue screen issues occurred again on-site. The staff then decided to reinstall the entire system and asked me to pick it up later. Several days later, the issues resurfaced, and I sent the laptop back to them, suspecting a hardware problem. The staff performed another installation, cleaned my ventilation, and recommended changing the battery, which was healthy by built-in tools checked by myself. They insisted that the issues were software-related rather than hardware-related. After only a month, the problems returned, and I finally gave up on this location. I sent my laptop to another service provider who, after a thorough diagnosis, replaced my SSD. Since then, everything has been working fine. I want to mention that the attitude of the staff at this location was also unsatisfactory. Perhaps they need more patience and better diagnostic capabilities.
My visit to Micro Center at Kissena Blvd, Queens, NY, two weeks ago was a tech lover's dream, earning it a well-deserved 5/5 rating. This store offers an incredible array of computer and electronics products. Whether you're a casual user or a tech enthusiast, you'll be in awe of the extensive selection, from PC components to laptops and gadgets. The staff at Micro Center are not just salespeople; they're tech experts. They're well-versed in the products they sell and are always ready to provide guidance or technical assistance. Their dedication to ensuring customers make informed decisions is commendable. The store's layout is organized and easy to navigate, with clear signage and product displays. It's a place where you can spend hours exploring the latest in technology without feeling overwhelmed. In conclusion, Micro Center at Kissena Blvd is a tech haven that consistently impresses with its product selection, knowledgeable staff, and customer-focused approach. My recent visit was a 5/5 experience, and I left with newfound tech treasures and knowledge.
I bought a new MSI laptop and ram upgrade at the Micro Center location in Indianapolis in July. I was very excited and all went well. Except then the computer began to run laggy. Sent it in to MSI and they said it was the after market RAM installed. I went into this Microcenter and explained the situation to leadership and the staff could not have been more wonderful. They not only prioritized my issue, they replaced the RAM at no charge and upgraded it further. Leadership on staff (Sahoil--spelling may be wrong) and his counterpart who's name I didn't get was outstanding too. They kept me updated during the process and encouraged me to try out my fixed unit after. It worked perfectly after and is now lightening fast. The staff went above and beyond and it showed and this is why Microcenter (despite some of the negative reviews here) has a glowing reputation. They are consistent no matter where you go and I'm now a fan for life. Thank you for an incredible experience.
Extremly upset right now. When I was met at the cash register, I specifically told the cashier to keep my information private. Against my verbal instructions to keep things private, my privacy and wishes as a consumer was violated. Plus, the cashier touched the green icons on the credit card screen consenting to things I'm unaware of. The same applied yesterday when a rep told me that it was mandatory to enter my personal phone number in the system if I hope to get a receipt. The manager intervened and stated it was optional. I like Microcenter but I don't stand behind the vultures tactics they use to sign someone up for there accounts. I'm highly considering filing a complaint with the State Attorney and will look to my privacy as a Consumer.
This place is worse than Best Buy. I we y the other day to buy caps for a project. After asking for help for 35 minutes the guy comes over and I had to give a lesson on uF. Then he look online and tells me to go to Best-Buy. Hygiene is not a requirement or mandatory there. Everyone smells like a dirty sock. You go the the old Asian guy to ask a tech question has an attitude and blows me off. The manager asked me to email him with the issue so ge. An correct it at a later time. Then nods his head and walks away. Micro Center is not going to be open too much longer. Can’t wait for liquidation sales.
I visited the store with my husband, but we were not acknowledged by any of the staff. When my husband finally found someone to help us, the person went to the back to find the item and never returned. Later, we saw him assisting someone else. After a while, we encountered him again, and he informed my husband that the item was at the register. He bid my husband good night, by saying goodbye, Sir, and said nothing to me as the purchaser. Do they purposely ignore women in this store? It was a weird experience. I intend to return the $900 item and plan on writing a letter to the corporate office.
My son purchased gaming computer components from a online retailer. He based his purchase on the website recommendations. After the components arrived, they were not compatible with each other. My family and I then decided to visit Micro Center in Flushing, NY. Sale Associate Raymond from Micro Center in flushing helped my son buy the necessary pieces to build his dream gaming computer without breaking the pocket. He also helped my son with all the build questions. Very knowledgeable individual. Thank you so much for your assistance. I recommend to everyone.
Their commitment to cutting-edge technology and wide range of tech devices is truly impressive. I was blown away by the availability of the latest gadgets and components, making it a haven for tech enthusiasts like myself. What stood out even more was the exceptional knowledge of the staff. They were incredibly well-versed in the products they were selling, providing valuable insights and recommendations. Micro Center's dedication to both top-notch technology and knowledgeable staff makes it an unbeatable destination for all things tech!
Customer service was not the greatest. I notice most of the male associates here can completely disregard your questions if it's not "worth listening to". I brought in a windows laptop to get fixed and also had a question about a possible glitchy screen replacement for an older apple product, my Macbook pro 13-2015 model. Not even a minute into conversation and associate cut-me off and told me "I'm wasting my time" without even providing any accurate information, as to whether it can be done or not. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Razza where fine dining meets Pizza. If all we'd had was the bread and butter I'd have been contented. They were so flavorful and luscious with a pleasing absence of the sugar that plagues so much bread in our nation. But great cocktails and outstanding pizzas that present an excellent example of fine balance made this really gratifying and memorable. Oh, and the sunny Summer evening that flooded through the large windows lifted everything up a notch.
This is a great store! It's packed with so many goodies, and computer supplies, you name it, they have it. They have good deals most of the time and the credit card option they have is also convenient! The staff there are very chill and respectful. They don't push or harass you to get anything, they genuinely know their stuff but in the event they don't, they'll guide you to the right person. I shop here att the time and look for Chris (the one who cut his hair)
It's the only store I know of where you can find computer stuff that isn't the most basic Best Buy item. But I come in here all the time for the same hard drives, which are locked up. And I have to wait for someone to be available. And you know how these tech people are, they just go on and on about gigaberts and whichnot. Just let me get the drive, please, and get out of here. Still, I'm only taking off one star for that, they're doing a lot of things right.
This is a true electronic store. This place has good sales people that know electronics. If you are looking to buy a TV or a computer gaming systems This place is for you! They have a fix it center. If you like to do it yourself they sell parts for everything. They sell open box item's at a good price. Don't be shy about asking for the best deals. Again this is a real electronic store the staff that works there know electronics. Enjoy ⚓️
Be aware that all the laptops you buy from them are defective some way and you will only find out after using for couple of months. I have bought numerous expensive laptops from them and they always have issues. Wonder why they persuade you to buy their insurance all the time it’s because they want to make as much money off you as possible. They re seal used laptops and mark them as new. Will never buy anything from them every again!
First time at any Micro Center. Was just walking around to see everything they've got. The wide availability of computer components is impressive. Some, but not all, prices are cheaper than online too. Biggest con for me: no one seemed to know whether any of these components — for example, Wi-Fi adapters — were compatible with Linux. You can certainly go in knowing that Windows and Mac OS will be served well, but not so with Linux.
Last week, it was my first time ever visiting a Microcenter store, I was looking to build my own pc. About 10 minutes into my friends and I shopping, we were told to exit the store by a security guard with no explanation what so ever. Every time we tried to ask what we did, we were met with a “you know what you did.” I truly hope all microcenter are not like this, as I will never go into this one ever again. So disrespectful :/
Building a new pc and for the most part everyone was helpful. Only issue was one particular person tried to tell me they did not have what asked for that was on sale, and tried to tel me I had to get a higher priced one. Because I'm on a budget I just went to another employee and he helped me right away, even showed me the exact cpu/mobo combo I was looking at online. Happy overall and it's my new favorite electronic store
A pretty good place to get all the necessary computer parts you would need for your computer. They price match everything well and almost everything I’m looking for is in stock. Only thing I have to point out is how some of the staffs would come up to you almost like they’re forcing you to let them help you. I’m aware that they get commission pay, but the way they come at my friends and me makes us quite uncomfortable.
My recent experience at this particular Micro Center was deeply unpleasant. While I've been satisfied with other Micro Center locations, my visit to this store was marred by a sense of being constantly monitored. I felt followed by a security guard throughout the visit, making it impossible for me to shop in peace. This experience was so off-putting that I decided not to return to this location again.
Fast service, as long as you aren't calling them. Massive amount of choice, just gotta show up and hope it's there. Long lines for new products, great low prices. Everyone was complying with the CDC guidelines during this pandemic and I felt safe. Glad to be able to shop in person in a safe environment during these new and unprecedented times...where everyone is a health expert.
I walked in and immediately someone asked me what i was looking for and if i needed help, then led me to Chris who was very helpful and explained everything i needed to know about my pc, monitor, and headset. He is so kind and thank you again for taking care of me! The cashier and manager were also very kind i will definitely be coming back here for any future purchases!
I have never heard of Micro Center until my brother introduced me to this store back in 2020. It's been my go to place ever since when I need something for my computer. The associates are clearly knowledgeable about the technical aspects of what they are offering. I recently bought my replacement laptop here. I would say my overall experience has been very pleasant.
Although I did receive ample help once arriving at the store. It was incredibly frustrating to have to travel back to the store a few days later, after almost spending 3k, to get a Thuderbolt adapter so my rig could have internet. I would have thought that the service rep would have made me aware of this when we were going over the specs and abilities of the rig.
Microcenter has been my go-to spot for any tech-related supplies and parts. The associates are wonderful and very knowledgable of any questions I have about products and the store is always very well stocked. Prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in purchasing PCs, parts, and any other tech related goods.
I've had several awesome experiences at this location. The staff are always helpful and patient. Prices can sometimes be a tad higher than those found online, however in my recent purchase of a PC case, Kristen at the register allowed me to pricematch. I got the best price on my case and had the case installed the same day. Perfect!
This place is really big and is one place for all electronics. It has got all recent launched electronics items. They sell cheap electronics to high end electronics like water cooler PC , high end gaming PC, graphics card. They also allow you to build and customize your PC. I would recommend every techie to must visit this place.
Both people I spoke with while I was in there were lovely. The salesperson filled me in so I knew all my options related to the product I was buying. The cashier was properly masked, super calm and easy to chat with; this place left me leaving much happier than when I went in. Peak in-person shopping experience
This is the only Computer supply center left. It's pretty good. They have everything computer related as well as entertainment items like TVs and Speakers. If you're looking for computer parts and don't want to order online and wait for delivery, this is the place to go to. They do computer repairs too.
Manuel at the knowledge bar is such a great worker and assured me that my PC would be taken care of. He was attentive and checked up on me every few minutes while i waited for my PC to get fixed at the knowledge bar. I will 100% be back to micro center for future issues with my PC! 10/10 experience
Awesome store and workers. I had a small issue to resolve regarding a coupon and the manager handled it perfectly. He went out of his way to resolve it quickly and professionally! Thanks again Not to mention they have great prices on PC parts that aren’t counterfeit parts lol. Highly recommended
Please do not go out of business! This is the best computer hardware store that I have ever been to. I bought a ton of stuff from this Microcenter and it was just so convenient to buy my barebones PC, LG CX OLED 48" and a LG 24" monitor for my iMAC. I try my best to keep you guys around!
Great experience, came on sunday early. Tons of customer service reps. Very helpful and fast service. My friend found what he was looking for fast. I went looking around the store and I like the set up. My friend said the price was good bff or the hardrive he was looking for.
Microcenter has computer parts, laptops, prebuilts, gaming chairs, keyboards, VR headsets, headphones, speakers, monitors, gaming and regular mice. Even if your not into gaming, there's still many things here that you might be looking for. Customer service was great as well.
Salesmen are very patient and skillful. Last time I asked for an old PC upgrade kit, they got motherboard info very quickly. They gave me several options and compared each of them, from performance, compatibility, and price. It was a very good experience from there.
I always love coming here. Huge selection of everything you could possibly need for building a computer. Friendly and informative staff. There's something special about being able to physically browse for computer parts in a store the size of a warehouse. …
Great shopping center for computer geeks. Just picked up today some items for my brother, who is one of them. :)) He ordered them online. Pick up was a breeze. Well organized store and very helpful associates with a positive attitude. We'll be back for sure!
Just got my new custom-built pc here, the technician here is very helpful and friendly, I had very limited knowledge about pc building but he explained to me about lots of things, and the full process of setting up the pc at home, I highly recommend them! :)
Convenient and lots of selections. Only comment is when your looking at laptops or browsing around 3 or 4 reps come harping in trying to make a sale. I guess if they see a girl wondering around they assume they don't know anything and need assistance …
My go too place for all things tech. The workers are welcoming and friendly. They are all knowledgeable, so it is easy to find what you need. Zafi, is my go to person at this location. I’d recommend the Micro Center to anyone who needs affordable tech.
I'm so glad I live a 9h drive from here...I'd be broke if I didn't! What an awesome selection of products under one roof. If you're a geek...beware. Items that I've never seen on a store shelf before. And very helpful, friendly staff at this location!
Sales manager and sale woman were being mean to me I never going back to that store again around Kissena Blvd I felted uncomfortable when they were being mean to me but one of the sales man Ray cheer me up after he saw how they treated me like
Good store but besides the computer build team, staff does not know much. They hire anyone nowadays. I brought in a very thin HP mini, looking to get RAM , and they gave me desktop ram instead of PC ram. Another guy didn’t know what RJ12 was.
Come here occasionally when they have promotions. Customer service has been great & friendly. Price discount is not that great unless you really spend time to dig through everything. The place is clean & customer service is very helpful.
Great place to find pretty much any pc gadget. This store is ginormous! Large spacious layout with aisle after aisle of gadgets.Pretty good prices. Most of the staff are pretty knowledgeable. The huge parking lot is the cherry on the top.
This place has everything you can possibly need to repair or build a computer, I mean the store is huge with tons of items. You can also buy fully built new computers (I don't want to give the impression that it is a Radio Shack type
All associates I've approached were super helpful. Didn't BS me in any way. They helped me out with exactly what I needed, even hooked me up with ideas better than my own, and now I have a boss custom built computer. Thank you guys
Very nice store! Return policy is phenomenal. Make sure you give email and phone number so all receipts will be sent to you. If an exchange is needed, and you don’t have original receipt, they will have it in the system. A win-win!
About the only place you can find most anything you're looking for, if it has to do with computers. I just don't like many of the agents there. They bunch around and seem to have a inside dialogue unless a customer they get
If you need anything technological, you should always drop by Micro Center, even if you don't end up buying something. Their employees are incredibly helpful and will guide you in the right direction of whatever you need.
Fantastic customer service team. Brought in the PC to repair and upgrade - Service Department kept me in loop for status updates and the customer service representative gave me a recommendation on parts to upgrade the PC.
The staff is very informative and helpful, and I picked up their I9 combo with motherboard for an unbeatable price. Would recommend this place to anyone trying to build their first computer. A tech savvy person's dream.
Since I been going to this store I find it very pleasant and clean the employees are very helpful and they make sure you get what you came for besides that it's a peaceful place to visit you will not leave empty handed
A top notch consumer electronics store that beats the competition to a pulp. Fantastic customer service and their prices are really competitive vs online retailers. The order online and pick up option is a godsend.
I was able to walk in and grab some USB storage and NVMe drives, and was able to get a price match against Amazon pricing on one of my items. No hassle, knowledgeable staff. Store has a convenient parking lot too.
Bought a monitor Here, team was very attentive and always helped with any questions I had. Got a better monitor for the same price u was originally willing to spend, and covered by warranty. Easy dub for me.
My go to for need now computer repair. I stay away from Best Buy. Prices here are good especially on the inland store brand items. Service is great. Someone is always walking around and WILLING to help you.
Everyone’s so helpful and knowledgeable about the technology, especially Raihan. He really knows everything about tech and how it works. He provides recommendations based on your needs. Highly recommend!
I ordered pc parts online and then came to pick it up, everything was fine. Not crowded. Staff was nice even though they seemed a bit busy with there phone. Overall my business here was smoothly done
It's great to have a local store for last minute purchases. I live on Long Island and it's the best option for computer parts. They gave a decent variety and are competitively priced on most items.
An amazing place with good prices and availability but make sure to check their website before visiting and don't be afraid of refurbished or open box items you can get an amazing deal out of it..
The staff and the selection are top notch. This store is extremely well run and the staff is excellent. They go the extra mile for you. And they have sweeeeeet open box deals if you pay attention!
The service is always good . It is located in an easy to reach location by car . Been shopping at micro center for years and would encourage people to do the same something there for everybody .
Large store with a great selection of items. Also very helpful and friendly employees. Went to pick up an online order and a couple items and I was out of there quickly. Good prebuilt PCs too.
Went there to build a pc . Everything went very well overall. Employees were friendly and helped us to build our gaming pc according to our chart list and price was reasonable also …
Nice place to shop for your electronics needs, customer service its excellent, I only spend about 9 dollars for a mini SD card and was helped like if I was spending much more. Thank you.
They took care of my issue, and i sadly had to call tech support to handle another issue. However there tech support was able to help me with no problem, so i still say 5 stars.
Excellent choice of computer electronics, but I would check ahead to see if there are any good deals. All inventory, including open box is posted and updated online regularly.
Got immediate help upon walking in. Guy fetched my open box monitor & pointed me to USB cable aisle. In & out with no wasted time. Highly recommended store for computer gear!
One of the last places you can go to get PC parts and build a computer in person. Selection is awesome and worth it to keep alive. Always an A++ experience!
Micro Center has everything you're looking for. Professional knowledgeable & friendly staff, Well organized, clean and well layed out shopping experience.
Always fun. Really helped out during Covid. Staff is helpful, professional and is up to date on meme culture which makes me sad and hopeful all at once.
Recently had my PC upgraded here. Carl was very helpful and found the best deals available. Alex put the PC together beautifully. Couldn't be happier!
Helpful staff. But NOT a fan of checkout forcing a signup. I had to leave, but checkout kept asking me to signup. Was almost late to an appointment.
Oh man where do I start. It's an awesome store. great prices. Great selection. No pressure to buy. It's like a kid walking in a candy store.
They have their own brand SD card. Better than SanDisk. For my dash cam over 5 years. Still strong. And they have large parking lot.
This is my go to budget friendly computer parts. They have sale, clearance, and open boxes but still in excellent condition.
this place is like if you mix toys are us and Disney Land the help is so good here. the prices (as seen in photo) are fair
This is a electronic superstore. Anything in the electronics they have it? The sales people are really courteous and kind
Lot of models to choose from and they had m3 MacBook even before the launch date. Purchased a MacBook in flushing store
Great service, left my coupon at home for the free micro chip, spoke to the manager and he honored the deal! Thanks!
Always easy to find things. Staff as helpful and the store is always clean. Today I upgraded my cpu, mobo and ram.
Bought an open box Zephyrus Duo from this place, Kenny in the laptop section was extremely kind and helpful.
Have been shopping here on an off for the past few years. I always find staffs knowledgeable and friendly!
I had a fantastic experience talking to the technicians in there yesterday. And the bathrooms are clean.
The people were very helpful, they helped me find what I was looking for will definitely go there again
Great store. Friendly staff. Huge selection of products and very competitive prices. Free parking lot.
Great customer service!! Best place to shop if you're looking to build Pcs or any other tech projects.
This place has everything you need in tech. Prices are competitive and fair. Staff are knowledgeable.
I go to the Brooklyn store near the Subway I saved $300 buying a computer here instead of Best Buy.
A great alternative to best buy. Except not everything on display was connected and ready to use.
This is a great store! All your electronics you need in one place. Excellent customer service.
Computer Heaven....Don't care that it's 1.5 hours away....Would go there over and over again.
The experience was really good. The staffs there, they were so friendly. Highly recommend.
Once you walk into the store, several associates will be offered to help you if needed.
Amazing staff. Manny, Ping, and Derek were all very interactive and transparent.
