The rental itself was perfectly fine. Yes, they were over 20 min late to the requested pick-up, but honestly, not a big deal. They originally gave me a huge minivan but were nice enough to switch me out to a sedan a couple days later. But, note: the rep said they’d call me when a sedan became available. I waited; they did not call, so I called myself, and that’s when I was told I could come switch out. As it turns out, this is the way they operate. The rep promises one thing, then they just do not follow through. I returned my car to a rep who pointed out some damage, went to the back to “speak with a manager”, then returned and stated they would consider it pre-existing because there was a hint of something similar in the pre-pics. He said to expect the deposit returned to my bank within a few business days. (Spoiler alert: nope.) A few days later, someone from their claims department calls me to tell me a claim has been filed against me, so they’ll email me the invoice for repair. No further details, no price, no documents. Just, “you’re going to have to pay— email you later.” (Over 2 weeks later, I still haven’t heard anything else from that dept.) I call Midway to see what is going on. The rep says he will investigate and call me back within a day. I don’t receive a call, so after a day, on Friday, I call back. He says he’s still investigating and will call me back “by EOD, or first thing Monday morning”. As you may guess… Monday comes and goes without a call. Over the next two weeks, I call at least 4-5 more times, and each time I am told the guy is busy, but he will call me back before EOD. Of course, he never called me back. Today, I finally reached someone who was willing to talk to a manager for me. It was a game of “he said.. wait, let me ask him.. okay, he said…” Not sure why I couldn’t just speak to the guy myself, but who knows. At least I finally got some answers. Look, I do not have a problem with paying a claim for damage if it’s legit. I just think it was ridiculous that I was continually being to be given false promises and having to beg to be spoken to at all. If you can’t get back to me within a few days, it’s okay, just TELL me so I’m not left wondering. Don’t lie about a same-day callback if it’s not going to happen. Again, rental itself was fine. No complaints there. Just… Jesus, work on your communication and follow-up process please. I feel like that’s a reasonable ask.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Missed an important appointment because of them. I booked an appt thru Priceline for 3 days later. Got my confirmation from Midway even got a reminder the night before. The car appt was at 10am. My business appt was at 12pm. I called about 9:30 and told them I was running a little late would probably be there around 10:15. The man who answered believe his name was John said thats fine the cars should be there by then. I didn't think anything of that statement. I got there right at 10:15 only for him to tell me the cars aren't there and it will he another hour to hour n half before they arrive. He said they had 2 coming in the next 15 mins but they are for the people that have been waiting already(they had 9am appts). He tries to get me to upgrade to one of their "BRAND NEW SUV'S" that would be an extra $75-80.00. I declined and asked if he knew there were no cars why wouldn't he say that beforehand when I called or stop taking reservations in the mornings. He said nothing. I walked out tried to call a few other car rentals and of course every rental agency near me had nothing available for same day. I ended up having to go all the way to Santa Monica to pick up a vehicle. Almost 2 hours on a train/bus. Ridiculous! I will never rent from them again.

Jamir, the assistant manager there, was all-around great. I needed a last minute rental having had to take my car into the shop on short notice. I'd never heard of Midway, and after calling around, Midway had the best rates by a stretch. There was also a possibility I was going to have to extend my rental as well, and Jamir told me in advance he would hook me up with a weekly rate if that ended up happening, saving me some cash. I ended up not having to do that, but Jamir's proactive helpfulness, his professionalism, and his overall friendliness was super welcoming and appreciated. Talking to the guy was like talking to an old friend you haven't seen in a while. Great experience, great rate for the rental, and great service. Would rent from them again in a heartbeat.

Let me just start with the calls, first I get a call telling me to pick up my rental a day after the date I actually rented it for. They were wrong and never apologized!!! On the day of my rental I called twice, I was on the phone on hold for 45 min each time and not once did I get to speak to anyone. Then I took it upon my self to get down there, I told them what happened and about the call hold times etc and again..no apology, just a blank empty stare. I was one tick away from exploding a flood of profanities their direction. When I left no thank you or enjoy your day...again just an empty silent stare. This place I shall never allow anyone I know including you reading this review to experience.

Worse service. I have never felt so humiliated like today in this "rental place".. looking us from head to toe .if we were beggars.. we were referred from next door collision to get our rental .and the guy acted like we were asking from his pocket. Asked for our collision coverage when i told him he smirked And him and his colleagues acted the same .only one lady in there was serious but either way didn't do nothing to give good service.. we walked away from there .and I hope they don't do it to someone else... got my rental at enterprise best service than this place... hope they change the personal .or get better management...

I recently had a fantastic experience renting a Sienna minivan from Ignacio. My girlfriend handled the transaction with Ignacio, and she was equally impressed with the level of service provided. Jacob was an amazing help with the transition to my new rental. In the instance that I had to return it for another car since the one I was currently driving was being sold, Jason, was very friendly and even allowed me to choose a vehicle of choice! And get this, when I decided to switch back to another car I had in mind the following day, Jason, was incredibly patient and kind and helped me drive the car I felt comfortable with. Very friendly staff. Great experience overall. Would recommend for anyone needing a rental in the area. Ask for Jason!

I made a reservation about three weeks in advance. The day I was supposed to pick up my car, they told me they were low on cars and that they would call me if anyone returned a car. This left me in a state of limbo, not sure if I had a car reservation for my trip or not. I never did get a call back following up. I don’t understand how I was able to make a reservation if they didn’t have a car for me. I ended up having to scramble to make a very last-minute reservation with another company. Really disappointed with this experience.

Do not use midway car rental they dishonest, I rented a car for two days , in North Hollywood they put I rented for four days.. They did this so they could charge $70 instead of 35 from the insurance companies. What happens is the insurance company is not gonna pay for that long of a Rent-A-Car and then you get stuck with the bill. I asked for a car that I could smoke in and when I returned it they smelled spoke. When I returned it , they charge me $100 for smelling smoke. Again, do not use this car company. They are dishonest.

I rented a RAV4 for a week. The rental process was pretty painless, I had to wait a few minutes because they were busy with another customer, but it wasn’t intolerable. Once the paperwork was finished they washed and dried the car for me so that it was fresh and clean. The customer service was fantastic as I had to adjust my drop off and pick up times because I didn’t anticipate how heavy the LA traffic was going to be. Returning the car was a very quick process. If I have to rent again I will come back to them.

Outta manners, outta cars and outta gas! What a joke! After a 20 minute apology-free wait ("we're low on cars") I was offered a dull five-year-old Tacoma. When I said that was unacceptable I was offered a Prius. Reluctantly I agreed, only to find the guy couldn't log on to set up the rental. And he was the mgr! When I finally said forget it he said Next time don't choose the Manager's Special (thru Priceline?) and if I do then "be sure to read the fine print." Relieved to tell him there'll be no next time!

Great place! Great staff! Really hooked me up nice! Very professional by the book but when it came down to going the extra mile like that super hero at chevron JAMEER, MICHAEL AND JASON REALLY ARE GREAT PEOPLE AND HOOKED ME UP! Up like that Disney movie. Watch out when your driving out cause it is near korea town! Ask for coffee and don’t forget the creamer. And bring a credit card unless it’s and insurance thang. And they pick you up! Up like ja morant boosties

I had an excellent experience with them. Best price I could find for one thing - almost 50% lower cost. The car I borrowed was brand new. I went to several other car rental places first, and none of them would allow me to pick up or drop off the car when I needed to. Might be because it was Easter weekend, I don't know. But it was quick and easy for me to schedule a rental from Midway's website. I have already recommended them to others.

We had reserved a car at Midway at LAX and instead of getting the car we thought we were getting we wound up with a very large minivan which also seemed to have mechanical problems. I called the Hollywood location to ask them if they could help me and swap it out and both Dave and Jamir were more than helpful and got us swapped out quickly. They literally may have saved our trip. Thanks again

I had a great experience renting a car from Midway. They offered the best deal, especially during these times after Covid where every other company was asking 3 times the amount for the same vehicle. I went to this spot because it was closest to my apartment, but wow did I luck out. Will be coming back here and no where else. Jamir not only made the process painless, but just made me feel taken care of which is so rare for a business never mind a rental car company. Car was great and new. Easy drop off. No hassle. Let’s just say I had fell into a series of unfortunate events. I ended having to Lyft to this location from Burbank airport and even though I was not able to secure a rental since I had a Venmo credit card, the service and kindness I experienced here greatly saved my day. Immediate attentive and friendly service. Three guys including the rental manager immediately cleaned a car inside and outside on the spot to get me in the car immediately. Best price I ever recvd for a rental car. And it’s a brand new car as well. (I’m not sure they would be ok if I published the rate on a Public review so I’m not). Very happy customer.

When I booked the trip they claimed to have 22 cars available on the Amex website. When I got there they had none. After waiting an hour they put me in a minivan that drank gas, and smelled like mildew. When I drop off and told them about the Oder they didn’t care just said “oh I’ll look at that” very low end company I would only use as a last resort.

Both the gentleman who checked me in and the one who checked me out were great. It was a quick process, they are easy to access. The size car I had reserved was not available but they upgraded me at no extra cost, and the car was comfortable, and clean. Also I got a really good rate for a rental. Would definitely consider them again the future.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This place treats customers horribly and even mocks you when you are mot fluent in English. The workers and even the manager at this company are very rude and do not treat their customers well. Great car at a great price. Check in and out was super fast. No king counter waits. When I need to extended 2 days, I just may a 2 mins phone call, confirmed the rate and kept it moving. No need to come in.
