Ich habe 5 Wochen hier verbracht und muss feststellen, dass eine Bewertung durchaus schwierig ist. Aber ich werde hier mal alle Kritikpunkte erläutern. 1. Die Lodges sind für due 30$ pro nacht einfach zu klein. Es passen gerade die zwei Matratzen rein wenn man sich noch etwas bewegen möchte. Es wäre bei uns unmöglich gewesen unsere Koffer in die Lodge zu stellen! Zum Glück gab es für uns die Möglichkeit unsere Sachen bei einem Freund Zuhause unter zu stellen. 2. Das Essen ist sehr variabel, mal bekommt man eine Portion von der man satt wird und wo alles dabei ist, was auf der Karte steht, manchmal bekommt man aber nur die halbe Mahlzeit. Ich glaube die Angestellten haben einfach keine Lust die Zutaten nach zu kaufen, wenn sie mal aus gehen. Genauso passiert es auch oft, dass es manche Speisen garnicht gibt. Zudem ist die gesamte Auswahl auf einem DIN A4 Blatt ausgeführt. Das bedeutet so ca. 16-20 Speisen davon ca. 10 mit Pommes als Beilage. Es schmeckt alles zwar sehr gut, aber auch hier ist der Preis wieder ein interessanter Faktor: geht man ein paar Meter aus dem Gebiet heraus, dann stellt man fest, dass man für ein Zehntel des Geldes eine Portion Pommes bekommt, von der man mehr als satt wird. Ich würde hier also empfehlen öfters auswärts zu essen. Die Straßenläden bieten sehr viel interessantes und gutes Essen zu niedrigen Preisen. 3. Die Sanitäranlagen: Es gibt 4 Duschen und 4 Toiletten. Alles wird morgens gereinigt, was dann aber auch dringend notwendig ist. Die Duschen sind im Freien unter Bäumen, was das duschen im Regen etwas umständlich macht. Immerhin bist dann nicht nur du nass, sondern auch all deine Sachen. Für Riesen wie mich hängen ein paar Duschköpfe zu tief, aber das ist durchaus zu verzeihen. Jegliches Wasser aus der Leitung ist leicht salzig. 4. Personal: Grundsätzlich sind alle, die hier arbeiten sehr nett, einer der Kellner habe ich sogar etwas ins Herz geschlossen mit seiner offenen Art. Die Reinigungskraft wird nur auf ausdrückliches Verlangen hin deine Lodge während des Aufenthalts sauber machen. Die Leute wurden etwas anstrengender, als wir mit Karte zahlen wollten. Das ist zwar möglich, aber nicht gerne gesehen, weil sie ja dann zur Bank müssen um das Geld zu bekommen. 5. Gelände: Es gibt hier ein relativ großen Bereich zum Essen oder einfach nur rumsitzen, was den Platzmangel in den Lodges etwas entschärft. Es kommt selten vor, dass es genug Besucher gibt um alles zu besetzen und die meisten Gruppen bleiben dann sowieso nur ein bis zwei Tage. Der Strand an sich ist etwas dreckig und sehr flach. Man kann bestimmt 50 Meter weit laufen ohne einmal schwimmen zu müssen! Zudem gibt es einen schönen Pool, der für üblich auch jeden morgen gereinigt wird. Hier habe ich nichts groß zu meckern, alles in allem eine sehr schöne Umgebung! 6. Ausfälle: Ja, es gibt hier WiFi und Strom und fließendes Wasser, aber der Strom fällt in diesem Gebiet gerne mal aus und damit auch alles andere. Das Wasser wird im hinteren Bereich mit einer Pumpe gewonnen und dass das WiFi ohne Strom ausfällt brauche ich ja keinem erzählen. Dieses funktioniert aber auch mal grundlos nicht und das dann gerne 2 bis 3 Tage lang. Kleines Resümee mit Bezug auf die Umgebung: Also, ich weiß, ich habe hier viel kritisiert. Dies auch sicher berechtigt, ABER wir reden hier von Kigamboni. Kigamboni ist der "arme" Teil von Dar Es Salam und wenn man sich dort Mal umguckt, wie die Leute leben und was es für Alternativen gibt kann ich nur sagen, dass das Mikadi Beach Resort purer Luxus im Vergleich ist. Ja, es ist mir trotzdem etwas zu teuer (besonders das Essen) aber wenn man in Tansania, eine ruhige und sichere Zeit haben möchte ist es hier echt gut. Es laufen Massai herum, die für eure Sicherheit sorgen und weiße Menschen sind hier keine "Aliens". All das kann sehr entspannend sein. Noch eine Empfehlung meinerseits: wenn ihr überlegt, auf welche Seite des Flusses ihr wollt nehmt Kigamboni! Es ist so ruhig im Vergleich und ich habe hier keinen einzigen Menschen gesehen, der mir böse gesinnt war. Ich hoffe ich konnte weiter helfen!

Spend 3days at Mikadi with my 2other friends,I loved the location, swimming in the pool(even though, pool maintainance should be kept in check); the view of the ocean and the food. Problem was the rats/mice in our room, they ate our cute and favourite bags, ofcourse because of the location they would tell you there is nothing that can be done but I wish it can be one of the main issue to bring to attention on arrival, coz truth is we didn't know there were mice/rats that eat bags like that(aggressive on next level), another issue is of the toilets- there were only clean this 1 day because one of their workers if i remember the name right-Innocent, really kept the toilets and showers clean that day regardless of the rain and it was so muddy but they were clean, then the other last 2days the showers and toilets were really dirty, if y'all can fix this toilets situation everything will be great. But really had a good time at this place, I recommend it for your chilled vaccay bonding with the ocean view and the breeze, just be careful with your valuable staff because the rats/mice at that place don't play

Schöne Lage direkt am indischen Ozean unter Palmen und entspannte Atmosphäre mit Hängematten & Sonnenliegen. Das Essen dauerte zwar lange, war aber lecker. Ein Frühstück war sogar im Übernachtungspreis (bei uns 10€/Nacht) inkludiert. Der Preis spiegelte sich dann aber in den Zimmern wieder: muffig riechende Zimmer, zugestaubte und zerlöchertr Mosquitonetze und nächtlicher Besuch von Krabbeltieren (vermutlich Bettwanzen) und Ratten. Da viele Zimmer keine Fenster haben und nur mit Draht und Gardinen zugemacht sind, gehört das zwar in gewissem Maße dazu, erholte Nächte hat man dadurch aber überhaupt nicht. Das Personal war sehr nett, vor allem Innocent, der beim Waschen unserer Kleidung behilflich war und sich sehr offen, aber überhaupt nicht aufdringlich um uns sorgte. Wer also eine günstige Unterkunft am paradiesischen Strand sucht, aber mit möglicherweise unhygienischen Umständen kein Problem hat, kann buchen....

The location is beautiful, and the lounge and beach area is a superb place to chill at daytime. However, at night, a lot of people from outside come to drink and party. It's nice if you're up for it, but if you want to rest, it's a bit annoying. Rooms are ok and have mosquito nets, but there is a big problem with rats. There are rats all over the place, and the rooms can't keep them out. They ate through our bags and even through a pocket in a shorts. The management is nice and handled our complaints well. It's very easy to get to Dar city centre with the ferry only a couple kilometres away. Also a lot of local food available just 500m from the place if you don't want to spend a lot of money on food there.

We spent three nights there and the beach and location was very beautiful! The pool was also nice to enjoy. The breakfast was also good. The toilettes were most of the time very dirty and were only cleaned in the morning. The mosquito net were a bit damaged but if you are bringing your own one it will be okay. Also we had a mouse in our Bungalow at night who ate some of our soap and paper but due to some holes in the walls its difficult to avoid. It was a bit sad that there was no kitchen to use for preparing own food. In the area was also no supermarket or restaurants where you could buy/eat food so we had to eat in the hostel. The prices were fair for the quality of the meals. All in all I mostly would recommend the beach.

Ich selbst habe hier noch nicht übernachtet, daher kann ich zu den Zimmern nichts sagen. Bin allerdings schon mehrmals hier gewesen, um einen entspannten Tag am Strand zu verbringen. Als externer Gast bezahlt man aktuell 5000 TSH Eintritt und kann dafür sowohl Liegen, Sitzgelegenheiten als auch Sanitäranlagen incl. Duschen nutzen. Freundliches Personal, Preise für Verpflegung sind realistisch und das Essen lecker. Außerdem ist der Strand hier südlich wesentlich sauberer als die meisten Abschnitte im Norden. Lohnt sich also auf jeden Fall, hier her zu kommen!

The area is good with good service and moderate charges for the service which can be easily affordable by all people also there Is security for the customers and their properties that why I preferred that place place also it is near the load for the transport service and the transport is easy accessed from there also for the wheel chair access there can be assessed and the area is good that you can even bring the children or the elders and food with drinks are present for the lot of time and the area is very good when you go on weekends days it is so amazing for those who like to dance for music to swim and other many activities which area performed in beach enjoy the place is good for real

The location is excellent, just at the beach with many hangout options and nice places. Very nice breakfast served! Some rooms are small but still since the price is also very minimal it is worthy. A special thank you goes to Innocent, who is doing an excellent job cleaning the facilities and socializing with people, a very nice guy making the place shine with happiness and good vibes.

Für alleinreisende, junge Frauen, die einen Ort zum entspannen suchen, kann ich es leider nicht empfehlen. Ebenfalls ist es schwierig mit der Privatsphäre, da die Zimmer und auch die Duschen sehr offen und einsehbar sind. Aufgrund von wiederkehrender starker Belästigung von einheimischen Männern, musste ich bereits am ersten abends das Zimmer wechseln und ins Wasser habe ich mich leider auch nicht getraut. Es ist sehr voll, besonders bei High Tight und nachts läuft nebenan sehr laute Musik. Man muss es mögen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und das Essen fand ich auch gut.

Its really an okay place. There are no clear changing rooms and the toilets are just awful. It has a cheap entrance fee of only 2000 sh which is great. There are stands where people are renting some floaters and swim wear. There is also one where swimmers can leave their bags and belongings while they go swimming. The price for keeping one bag is only 1000sh. The ocean is fairly clean, for this you can't blame the owners because of the seaweed. I think there were some life guards of sorts too. All in all, I still had a great experience and I advise you to visit Mikadi as its not that far from the ferry and its a generally affordable place.

I stayed here for 3 nights, and I really liked it. The price for a night’s stay is very average for the area, and the beach is beautiful here. It’s conveniently close to the ferry, and it’s easy to catch a dala dala from the road. The rooms I stayed in were all a bit disappointing but as I didn’t come there to stay in my room, but to relax by the beach or pool this was not a problem for me so much. The restaurant serves good food but a bit pricy (around 15-20.000 per meal). It is also good for a day visit, however please notice they charge an entrance fee that is 5.000 for adults.

Stayed here for a night. Value for money. They have small cabins and tents. With shared bathroom 50k, with private private 110k. There's one tent with private bathroom which is super cool goes for 180k. It's right by the beach with a good atmosphere. The food was really good, loved their ham and mushroom pizza. Also recommend margarita cocktail, so yummy. The next morning it was nice waking up to several monkeys on our balcony .

Don't rent the beach bandas if you want to catch some sleep. Sunday the whole day extremely loud music from 12pm till 4 am (!!) from the bar nextdoors whereas the guy at the reception promised us it would be over at midnight! Outdoor showers and toilets could use an upgrade. Monday music til 11pm. Then we were asked to change bandas for no clear reason. After 2 nights we've had enough and were allowed to cancel our 3rd night. Banda itself was small but clean, and cleaned every day.

I stayed at Mikadi Beach Lodge, and I can not speak highly enough of it! It is a beautiful location with good food and great views. The service is slower than I have been used to in a restaurant/hostel setting, but outside of the slower service, the employees are friendly and are fluent enough in English that speaking can be navigated with relative ease. Furthermore, they would go out of their way to help by calling taxis and tuk tuks if patrons require them. To top it all off, there are hammocks and a pool that you can see the beautiful clean beaches and gorgeous blue water.

Great camping area on the beach for $10. Showers and toilets were ok.. No water pressure. Often no toilet paper. Fresh bucket water in the showers is a bonus. Food and drinks a tad expensive but methinks there's many overlanders coming and going here so seems like they are catering for a specific market. IMHO. .. bar was very understocked with only beer and local spirit available. Albeit being pricey the food was really good. The swimming pool is a nice addition. Felt very safe. Staff were friendly and accomodating. All in all a nice place and I would return.

Simply saved this cozy little place in Kiamboni. Chic vibes, nice seating lounge overlooking the beach. Good food. Excellent service. Nice sea water swimming pool. The huts are a tad small. 7 huts share common utilities and 3 huts have en suite bathrooms. Located close to Kigamboni ferry terminal, say about 15 minutes drive. We enjoyed game of billards and the amazing mon stop breeze from the ocean. The guards are amazing and safety is very well looked after. They were active all night checking all sides, as this camp has a wide open beach front.

If you want a good night sleep, this is not the place, there was loud music till 3am in the morning coming from the neighbors. The cleaners do not have good knowledge of customer care. The good side is the rooms are very cosy for a couple. The cleanliness is very good, cleaned daily and showers and bathroom kept clean. The food and drink is good. Great swimming pool to use at all hours.

Had a great experience, a great budget option with a very beautiful ocean view and lovely sunsets. However, it's a very busy place especially over the weekends and sometimes can be quite noisy from the loud music that plays next door so if you're looking for a quiet place then this ones not for you. Also has salt water but the staff try their best to fill buckets with fresh water for the showers. Overall good place nice accomodation, nice camping option with an affordable bar.

Mikadi Beach Camp is a great beach place on a stone throw of the central business district of Dar es Salaam. There is a nice selection of beach houses looking over the white sand beach and hearing the ocean waves that fall ashore with a plop. The restaurant is great and the menu just has been renewed with freshly prepared dishes and a wide selection of drinks.

Great location right by the beach and it's close to Kivukoni crossing to Dar town center. Lovely little details like the outdoor swing beds and swings by the bar and the food was pretty delicious. However it's very very basic and could use some maintenance throughout. Furniture could be cleaner and bar area was quite dusty. The staff were ok. It has a lot of potential but the owners have not maintained it well which is disappointing.

Cool location as it’s right on the beach. However if you’re camping it felt incredibly unsafe. The ladies in our group were yelled at and harassed by men who were obviously high. The men would bang on the showers and bathrooms when we were using them. I wouldn’t recommend traveling here alone and you should make sure to watch your stuff closely. Also bring earplugs as there was screaming and partying till all hours of the night.

Awesome place, i had the best experience staying here, great environment, tasty food, friendly staff, and very secure. The only thing is the banda rooms could use more revamping in terms of roofing as there was a lot of dust and dirt on the net and bed due to the dust and insect dropping falling onto the bed.

Das Meer dort ist dehr schln und sicher einen Schnappschuß wert. Das ist aber leider auch schon das einzige. Der Pool ähnelt eher einem Biotop für Frösche und Kaulquappen. Die Karte wird gebracht, aber zum Bestellen muss man wieder an die Bar gehen Wir sind nach einem Getränk und einer Runde Billiard, welche auch 1500 tsh gekostet hat, wieder nach Hause gefahren, da wir so enttäuscht waren.

I made a reservation, which was confirmed again on the day of arrival. Upon arrival they said they had no reservation under my name. They gave me and my mom a double bed even though we had requested a twin room The bed was sandy and there were no bedsheets, only one thick blanket The taxi that they arranged costed 35 dollar even though the price listed on Uber is 20.000 Only salt water, even in the showers and taps

Great place to stay on the beach in Dar Es Salaam. We camped so didn't use the accommodation at all but the toilet and shower facilities were good. Its not far to the ferry to get you over the river to the main city and coming home and walking straight into the ocean to swim was divine. Pool was good as were all staff and resident dogs.

Très beau spot sur le bord de la plus belle plage de Dar es Salaam. Tranquille le matin, très achalandé les après-midis de fin de semaine. Staff plus ou moins accueillant. Déjeuner inclus, mais très petite portion. Des Masaïs et des chiens de garde assurent le sécurité. On nous dit de ne pas s'éloigner. Depuis les bandas, on entend la musique du bar de l'autre côté de la rue jusqu'à 5-6h du matin.

Our hotel was in Dar Es Salaam, and we went to this camping site for the day. The beach is beautiful, specially at morning/noon during the high tide. There is a bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere during day. From Dar, you can take the ferry and then a Moto, it takes less than half an hour. I think it would be worth spending a few nights here, since the small wood houses looked really cosy.

Darei zero per quanto sia sporco e curato zero! Alle 21.00 ti spengono le luci mentre stai consumando o giocando a bigliardo e se non stai attento rimani pure fuori dalla stanza! La doccia in stanza è acqua di mare e tutto è arrugginito! Nidi di api sopra le zanzariere e non parliamo poi delle zanzare e delle lenzuola secondo loro pulite ma zeppe di sabbia! Da evitare!

Real nice place for holidays and weekends,not far from kivukoni ferry, it is just 2.5km. The beach is not that clean Good foods Not much secured You can go with kids You can rent or buy swimming clothes at the beach,. The entrance fee is 200otsh cash. I recommended you visit this place PS. It is very populated in weekends and public holidays but not in week days.

Caring staff and good hospitality giving guests a 10/10 privacy thats what you find at MIKADI BEACH CAMP and dont mistake it with mikadi picnic ( neighbouring hosts) been one hell of a ride over there...... and of course salute to the great reciptionist (RAMA) AKA the cocktail master

A great place to stay in Dar Es Salaam. We camped so didn't use the huts but the bar was great as was the pool and the beach. It was so nice to come home from the city and just walk into the ocean. Affordable and an easy walk (or you can grab a taxi) to the ferry terminal to cross to the main city.

Good location and food but not brilliant for children. Also, most of the staff are unwelcoming, regardless of how often you go. It's convenient, but the staff could at least pretend to be happy to get customers, the place is often very quiet. If you live in Tz it works out very expensive to stay and eat there, so visitors will expect a bit more from staff.

Es un sitio muy natural. No esperes grandes lujos ni nada. La piscina en la foto parece muy grande pero es bastante pequeña y cuando nosotros fuimos estaba sucia. En general la atención fue normal, nada que destacar. La playa estaba con bastantes algas y cuando te metes hay mucha roca, cosa con la que hay que tener cuidado. El WiFi va bastante bien.

The Camp it's good, good design beautiful beach around City Center areas, only the problem is the Staffs are not friendly at all especially Staffs works at Reception, I am very disappointed with these Staff, I had worked in many Tourism hotels in different Regions but I never see kind of Staffs like these, it's all about not care Hospitality.

Le staff est vraiment adorable, gentil, accueillant. Les toilettes sont tres propres et Innocent prend son travail a Coeur. Il est tres souriant et agreable et merite sa place en tant que serveur! Noubliez pas de laisser un petit TIPS car vraiment ils ont a Coeur de bien vous recevoir.

Very good option for staying pretty close to the action in Dar-es-Salam while keeping a good foot in the white sand beach in front of an unspoiled stretch of the Indian Ocean... Make sure you understand that pretty near this beach lodge you can grab a direct ferry ride to Dar-es-Salam avoiding the messy road trip! You're warned! ;)

La plage est magnifique avec son sable blanc fin et son eau couleur emeraude. Il y'a de la place pour tout le monde, petits (il y a un manège) ou grands. C'est dommage que dans le restau ils ne servent que du poulet et des frites de pommes (kuku and chipsi). Je m'attendais à y trouver des fruits de mer.

What a wonderful place! The people are lovely and welcoming, and the vibes are perfect! I was only supposed to stay a week, I ended up staying for 2 weeks because I didn’t want to leave. I’ll definetly be back!

Great place ! We stayed in a banda by the beach. Awesome location to chill for a few days. The breakfast was nice (especially the pancakes) and the staff is welcoming. It was nice to chat with Innocent working there. Thank you !

A Beautiful, place on the ocean. There has never been a hot, because there is always a light breeze was blowing. Wonderful dogs, may God give him health, living here since the creation, and those who want to return from Africa without fleas, can stay in the Kempinski Hotel

Very friendly place, everyone was very relax and minding their own business. I really enjoy the peace of mind.

this is not my first time visit here, the place is calm and very comfortable, staff is amazingly helpful food is awesome as usual - calamari rings was the best very well done (as per the picture)

.. banda small but comfortable... first meal delicious even though had to wait a while for it...pool and ocean delightful.. samosa very tasty...staff friendly and always cleaning and tidying... noisy at night but expect that as caters for younger people

Nice little "bandas" on the beach. Newly renovated under new managment, which really has improved the place. New menu in the "Chandelier" restaurant, really good food at a decent price. There is also a new pool which is nice to use when the tide is low.

Great beach.. great position. Excellent for young wanting to party. Very nice and competent staff

Actually it is quitier during weekdays and here you can enjoy the water and sports. Crowded during the weekends and holidays.. the place has security check up safe place to deposit your assets (payable) . At least it is fine for the normal outtings.

Everything is just fine I love the place.

the place is cool but the swimming pool I did not like ... but other things are quietly fine

The place is just average. Swimming pool is not well maintained and it is just a small pool. Place is getting old and some renovations would bring it up maybe. Otherwise it's good for camping and the prices are fairly good

The room the bed sheets and the mosquito net were very dirty and smelly. But there was a nice relaxing area at the bar in front of the beach.

Beautiful place for ocean nature lovers, nice meals especially breakfast,just you don't come with your 30kg baggage and expect anyone to help you ,you need to carry your baggage when getting out was strange lol …

Another trip to Mikadi and as usual, it did not disappoint! Beautiful setting, close to Dar but far away enough to feel remote. Great food, the new chandelier bar is beautiful and excellent staff. Well worth a stay

Loud music the whole day, beach full of garbage and dinner was cold and not worth the money.

For camping good considering you are in a 4mil city. Beach is beautiful and goos for swimming and the bar have a beautiful view. Only salt water in the showers and a bit basic... but not too bad. I love it

The location is soo nice the ambience the hospitality everything is 100% I recommend I will revisit soon. Thanks Mikadi team I enjoyed my stay God bless.

I had been there a coupe of times to play pool. I just couldnˋt believe they didnˋt let me in last time because I wasnˋt a club member. So I spent my money elsewhere.

Kind and conciliant people who helped us with taxi and pool lessons. The area is very well located in front of the beach. Definitely a place I recommend to enjoy Dar peacefully

Mikadi Beach Camp was great for beach access. We had a fun time seeing the Indian Ocean!

Nice place with a good view and food but the other side has alot of people hence for those who want peace and quiet would not enjoy over the weekends

Perfect place if you want to just hang out at the beach for a few days. Very simple accommodations, but good food and unbeatable view!

Good place to chill. Nice breeze and quiet at night. The bar maid was a bit rude but maybe because she was the only server on Sunday.

Place and view are good. Food menu is very less and quantity also very low. Rooms doesn't have toilet and bathroom facility
