This is a brand new park across from the original park, very spacious, flat cement areas for kids scootering, large playground area for the kids, lots of climbing structures for larger kids, have to be careful as some of the climbing structures can be challenging and high off the ground for small children, few benches only near the play structures, fun 4 seater spinner yellow "boat" for the kids, parking is a little far to the kids playground, rope bridge that is high up which kids have to be careful when crossing, if you live locally it is better to walk, 2 softball fields, bleachers, lots of picnic tables and benches, restrooms, walking distance to Mira Mesa Blvd and the library, across from the community basketball gym. Spent 30 min gym, then crossed the road to the park for 1.5 hours. There is no pool and no grills. You can grill across the street at the original park and then picnic at the new park!

UPDATE - Unsafe when you are the only one in the park. Be careful! I have been visiting this park for a few years now and it has been remodeled too. I have always felt safe and relaxed here BUT please be aware of your surroundings. I decided to go there around 9am to walk my dog and this guy started following me. He had eyes on us and I felt either he was going to do some harm or steal my dog. I started rushing towards my car (parked in the parking lot) and I could see him pace up behind me, inches away. I got in the car, locked it from inside and just left. I did not come back here after that.

Nice park for Basket Ball, team sports, has a new rec center across street. Also, Pokemon stop there. Was doing Legenday Raid that day. Sometimes at night, playing pick up for Bball there can be a wait. Over the past few years have never seen drug use, maybe a occasionally foul, but not "street ball". Rest rooms available. Use Hill Top Park for night ball now. Not as crowded. Clean games, restrooms, bar b que areas. Good family place. No drugs or sketchy activity seen. 2 Pokemon gyms, a few stops. Understand U were asking about Mira Mesa Community Park. Give both places a 5 star rating.

I love parks and this is one of my favorite parks. They're doing some construction as of me writing this review, so it's possible things will change. For now, my biggest gripe is parking. More spots would be great. So this park is located in the heart of mira mesa, close to a library, and includes fields and basketball courts and ping pong tables inside a recreation center. The rec center is nice and there's tons of activities. There's even a playground for the kiddos. It's probably my favorite park in mira mesa. Easy walk to tons of shops and restaurants.

Beautiful park centrally located in Mira Mesa. Great for walking my dogs, early morning bible church outdoors or meditation because different wonderful groups of people gather there. It is alive with great energy and spirit and such a beautiful little place to relax and do absolutely nothing as well! Speed bumps and crosswalk lights installed for added safety measures. Wonderful little section with swings and playground along with a library and youth center adjacent to the grassy field. Love this place!

Perfect location in the heart of MiraMesa. Perfect for playing cricket . There are some spots for gatherings and this place got water facilities and restrooms. Restaurants are close-by. Grocery stores are at walkable distance. There about 5-6 grounds with lights. Two play areas with slides swings and more activity. Kids can have fun playing in those 2 places. There is one basket ball and I think they have place for TT as well. Everything is well maintained here and perfect.

This park has a very large playing field ..i have always seen more than one match being played here..has basketball area and tabletennis too..the play are is equipped with new play structures but mostly heavily crowded during evening times..has trails for dogs and the restrooms are fine..i habe seen few bday parties celebrated here and i think this place is nice for such parties ..overall a good place for walk jog to take a stroll or relax :)

Good Stuff! Free lunch (donation suggested) Dance, Tai Chi, Zumba, art classes, BINGO fridays (quarter {mornings} & dollar {afternoon} games). Special events, including hosting D-6 Night Market Event early next year! Many distributions of service, most free...taxes/financial help/advice. Easy parking, green areas, patio space with benches and rose bushes! Also very friendly staff & service. Always keeping you safe & on time.

This park is getting completely remodeled with a new community pool. The park itself straddles New Salem Street and across the street from the rec room is supposed to be done within this month (Dec 2017) and it looks like they make the deadline. Directly after the east side is done, they should be starting the pool side (where the rec room currently stands). This is our tax money at work and it looks awesome so far!

  • Adriana Medina

The park is decently maintained. Their facilities are satisfactory with toilet paper and soap. The problem I have is that they don't have public restrooms once their gym closes. We were at a softball tournament that ran until 6pm on a Saturday. Their gym closed at 4pm. Here we are with children and adults walking to Walgreens for facilities. Not sure we will want to return here if we plan on staying after 4pm.

I have to do community service for Texas for a crime I did back in 1992. Cashed a $620.00 check. Still paying for it. So I'm helping out park by help keeping it clean. This park is really nice and wide open. Lot's of activities to participate in. I like the play my music on my mini sound system with friends as we sit around and enjoy the day after work is done.

Mira Mesa Community Park is a vast  beautiful and open space purposed to improve our physical and psychological health, and strengthen our community and make our City and neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work. For sure the park needs additional attention to make sure it's clean and healthy to encourage the people to frequently enjoy it.

  • Grady Williams

It is a large sprawling park and this review is not about the park itself because I was there for my kid to play soccer. If your kid plays at the teen level, this field is small and had pockets of mud from what looked like a faulty irrigation system. So if you have a soccer game here, be warned, the field is not so great. The park is nice though.

Mira Mesa Community Park is a beautiful place where you can go and take the family, have a barbecue, run and play with your kids, and this weekend they are celebrating the Vietnamese lunar new year, there will be carnival rides, different variety of foods, games, live shows and I believe they also do the Miss Vietnam of San Diego beauty pageant

  • Candy Kuhn

Such a beautiful place to watch and enjoy a great baseball game....Little League of Mira Mesa! This is also a great place to bring your little ones to enjoy the playground. And when you need to go for brisk walk...there are pathways to do that..also don't forget your fur baby...they will the walks too...just a great place for everyone!!

  • S ra

Went there for Halloween costume contest for kids. This center has a table tennis court and place for some other activities. It has a kids craft room and they have 'Toys for Tots' program for toddlers on every Tuesday and Thursday from 9: 00 to 11:30 am, which provides an opportunity to children to learn while playing

  • Dan Rich

This place has a lot invested into it to make it a larger I thriving spot in Mira Mesa. Now, I dread having to go there. The transient population has taken over part of the park and are belligerent, Brayden
Restrooms
Do NOT use the restrooms outside the main community center building. They are not safe.

  • layla dixon

I went here for the lunar New Year festival and it was fantastic! The park itself is very safe and clean! It's a good place to take your kids because there is a little jungle gym/playground. Even the Porta potty was clean (as clean as they can be) Overall it was a great experience and very kid friendly. …

  • Kelsey Looman

Big park, grassy areas, ballfields, basketball courts and play structures for both toddlers and older kids. Public bathrooms and drinking fountains. The fields and courts are open to the public for us. Best part is the shades over the playgrounds. Makes it a good place to play outside even on a hot day.

  • Fitz L

Great place to hangout or play sports. Others outdoor basketball courts with lights and a few baseball diamonds. Theres also an indoor rec room with a small basketball court and ping pong tables. There's always street parking and the best things are that its free and your getting a workout.

  • Marc Robatto

Nice play structures under shade. 2 water fountains nearby. There is a covered cement area with 3 cement tables but that may be reserved for an event and can not be sued by public at that time. Overall nice respectful kids with attentive caring parents is a plus always.

  • William Duron

I had a really good breakfast here today. The service was quick and efficient. The refills were fast in coming (not enough time in between ordering and serving to melt the ice). The meal itself was good. Nothing burnt (I had the American Breakfast). Highly recommend.

  • Melissa Renn Brown

Awesome shaded park with a great community of local families who visit regularly. I love that the big and little playgrounds are so close together and there's plenty of seating. The baseball fields serve as a good fenced in free play area when not in use for sports.

  • Carmen Maderias

This place is full of muddy holes, tables are old! Paint chipping off all over the place! Where you watch basketball games there is maybe 3 or 4 benches to sit on everyone else stands up. Not enough teams so kids play same teams all season! Dont recomend it at all!

  • Shannon Daley

Wonderful, beautiful neighborhood park. Not enough parking for events, but good on an ordinary day. Some shade. Basketball courts, baseball fields, bleachers, a small playground for kids. Huge new park across the street with better baseball and playground.

  • Anabel Cuenco

Wonderful teachers and programs especially for the value . Main downside is condition of the building which is quite run down . Regardless, they are able to provide a wonderful, affordable outlet for community members so it is still well-appreciated.

  • Kayla Kayteal

This park is great, which is probably why it's used for events so often. People are always out here picnicking, playing sports, hanging out. I don't think I've ever seen trash laying around here. Lots of space and tables with benches placed around.

  • Raj Anbazhagan

Very nice community! Basketball court, and hugmongus playing field for most sports activities!! Limited parking spots, but more than enough even if you get there by midmorning, early afternoon. Also there's another park right accross from it!

  • Czarina from California

This is more a series of fields for little league and is across the street from townhomes. The little league families are unbearable and so are some of the parents who live in the townhouses and think the park is their private yard. Very

Nice Park for kids. They have a community center and hosts kids sports here. They have a nice playground as well that is separated into a toddlers area and kids a little be older. Basically a small play area and a larger one with swings.

  • Matt Gage

Was only here to watch fireworks on the 4th. There were a ton of people all facing Mira Mesa Blvd and looking out over the school. Great view of the fireworks but there is a good amount of light and noise pollution from the street.

  • Mark Eckman

Nice clean park with two large playgrounds; one with sand and a new larger one with rubber. Baseball fields, basketball courts and a community center. Park is old but well maintained. Off-street parking is available but limited.

  • Millie Munguia

Good place to take a walk, relax, workout, watch a game. There's shopping centers nearby, food places, everything within walking distance :). Only thing I'm concerned about is that the homeless populationis growing. So be alert.

  • Ronald Danner

This park is still under construction, it has been 2 years now, do not know when it is going to open completely. It should be a good and big park when it is finished.
