"Do not buy at this place! All items are at least $1 more expensive than other Asian grocery stores"
The older lady working there seriously needs to chill out. A bottle had dropped from the fridge as it was placed improperly by another customer, and it had shattered on the floor. Not wanting to just ignore it because it's literally a safety risk, I informed her when I saw it. Instead of acting appropriately and just getting a staff member to clean it, she proceeded to yell "WHY" very angrily as if to accuse me of it. There is absolutely no reason that would warrant this behavior and ZERO need to speak to a customer in that way. The experience was made even more uncomfortable as my friend and I attempted to pay for our stuff, only for her to glare at us the entire time. Learn some basic customer service skills.
Far from cheap but reasonable for and import specialty store. Selection is not totally comprehensive but offers a decent range of products and flavors we might otherwise not get to experience without spending thousands to travel around the Asia Pacific. Otherwise some items are nice nostalgia comfort foods for those who already have. The busy staff are to the point and efficient which is great when you just want to buy your snacks/groceries and go. Only real complaint is the store is rather cramped and all the price labels face down instead of up, meaning you have to squat to read them.
2.4 - The one disappointing thing about Macquarie Centre is that it doesn't have a good value Chinese Grocery store. There's a lot of product variety with this one and it's been aesthetically enhanced with wallpaper etc. but the prices are so expensive! I try to avoid coming in here unless I'm missing an ingredient. When I stand in line about to pay, I feel rorted already! An example here is a bunch of watercress for $3.30, which is 30 cents more than Coles!! I get the same for about half of that price at Chatswood, Eastwood and Top Ryde (Hope the new shop opens soon!)
I’ve purchased here a couple times before. It’s well organised and has quite a lot of variety in terms of stock. They had a lot of sweets and drink and dessert varieties. They have the COVID-19 QR code’s and the sanitiser etc to make sure they are covid safe. The staff are efficient with payments etc but they generally don’t know where certain stock is - I’ve asked them multiple times before but they haven’t been able to tell me. I also think it’s great that you can pay by card without any minimum spend.
Do not buy at this place! All items are at least $1 more expensive than other Asian grocery stores. I decided to put back all the things I have picked up after seeing how expensive things are and how limited the selection is. I usually do a big shopping round when I go to asian supermarket. I think i would be paying about $200 for the same thing in this store compare to $120 in other stores. The woman at the shop chased me out and asked to see my bag when I didn't even buy anything from them.
bought a drink. Price tag shows $2. charged me $2.15. give me heaps of cents coins. checked with staff, price tag wrong. the owner says myself making trouble. returned me 0.15 with three 5 cents coin. Why cant u just give me a dollar. Why am I getting heaps of cents coin because your mistake. BTW the price there is expensive too, Just go to eastwood.
Customer service is incredibly rude. While even talking to the manager about the behaviour of the staff(casher), she is kept talking in rude way to the customer. Don't even give one star at all!!! She even said don't care about complaining and she confidently yell to the customer that don't come here. Unbelievable customer service!!!!
Overpriced 5dollars for a bag of chips, other stores 3dollars, all cup noodles over 3 dollars... Japanese imports are like 5dollars a bowl, ridiculous, the vegan/vegetarian range is almost double other stores, the only cheap stuff here are things like soy sauce and singular snacks, would not reccomend.
Extremely rude staff, old women(manager perhaps) and girl. They even asked to see all my shopping bags for all christmas shopping. Without saying, please, thank you. Avoid Miracle at Macquarie please. Eastwood stores has so much better varieties, more fresh and much kinder staff and Chatswood stores.
Old Asian women is so rude!!!! If you can't speak English, ask any other person to kindly ask costumers to leave when you are about to close!! PLEASE Learn, in Australia we DO LIKE polite Customer Services!!! The international shop upstairs has some Asian stuff with a better price !!!
Packet of biscuit had a price tag for $3.30 but I was charged $3.80. Took the staff to see the price tag, no apologies from the staff or any refund of the difference. Only explanation was the barcode is different on the packet and the price tag. Terrible, dishonest shop.
So many things here that I want to try! Prices are reasonable, my only issue is that a lot of products aren't in English. Easiest way around this though is to install Google Translate on your phone and install the language packs for offline translation of images.
One of the best Asian supermarkets around... Always well arranged and stocked, it's hard to find help if you need something specific coz old nanz patience is a bit on edge... Otherwise a pretty decent store..
Love how many great thing you can find in this store . So many Asian goodies i never seen before. So many Japanese yummy treats and great affordable skincare.
Very few products from China. No chance to buy authentic Chinese sauce/spice/snack there. Most products are actually from Taiwan/Korea/Japan. What a shame!
Feeling home sick? Or simply miss your home country culinary? This is the best place in Macquarie area to buy your Asian groceries.
I know the shop owner probably couldn’t care less about reviews, or he is not even aware that people are reviewing here but still
You can get a lot Asian stuff there. But the staff is extremely rude. I’m confused, I don’t owe you anything right???
Small but you get most of the ingredients you need for the Asian style cooking.Plus frozen Dim Sum save my time.
Rude owner, overpriced asian groceries. Get the same products from Eastwood for a fraction of the price.
Even 1 star is too much. Rudest Asian staff there. They should have customer service training.
Most things are out of date and they are still on the shelves full price. Taken 21 Oct 2021
Change your closing time. Got there at 8:48 just to grab quickly but guy goes its closed.
You need to learn to open on time, 9:00 am means 9:00 am. Customers are waiting outside.
Good place with variety asian products but the price of some products is quite high
Good range of products. We always find what we need here and more!
Most expensive price and extremely rude staff. Avoid at all cost!
Never open on time and the customer service is terrible
Very nice Asian supermarket inside Macquarie centre.
Good variety and is clean
