"Old space for very modern art"
I‘ve been visiting PS1 for some time, including the summer WarmUp series. It‘s a cool space to spend an afternoon to experience contemporary art - and of weather permitting sit in the outdoor courtyard. Make it a day to LIC to explore the small Hunters Point Historic District and walk to the waterfront afterwards. More
Wonderful museum! The curation and descriptions are thoughtful and really guide your experience through the museum. Free for NY state residents, but would recommend booking your ticket beforehand online. Plan to spend about an 1-2 hours here for the full experience. Steps away from the G train subway as well. More
Only 3 exhibits 1 being a cultural experience of Egyptian immigrants, the other exhibit was 1 painting. Building is great but I feel as though they need more permanent exhibits. Huge Amoy courtyard just empty. No sculpture or art. Wish there was more to look at. More
This was a great rainy day museum experience. It is very easy to reach via Subway and worth the trip. While contemporary art may not be for everyone. MoMa PS1 was excellently curated, leaving me more knowledgeable after each exhibition panel. More
Old space for very modern art. I loved what was exhibited there, and I loved the building as much! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For example, the basement was closed for fear of flooding on a heavy rain day, and the gentleman
The small offshoot of large MOMA with small but extraordinary changing exhibitions. Not so crowded, because perhaps not yet so well known? I enjoyed it and it was worth the 10$ by far. One should be open for new things
Small contemporary art space in a repurposed school building. The space has been partly left in original unfurnished condition, adding to the experience of the gallery. The rotating exhibits show interesting works of art from local artists
There’s always a good show to excite your imagination or sooth your soul. Very progressive and diverse art at this place. The book store is full of surprises. Spend 10 minutes looking at the sky at the James Turrell “Meeting”. Change your
The museum is great no knocks there. The summer party dance party did leave a lot on the table however. Very little food options for such a large event. The music was decent until the final act got on and played 2016 club hits with little
They really need better exhibits. I go because it’s free but good exhibits here are few and far in between. Give better artists a chance to showcase their work. The upside is the museum shop is really nice and has nice items for sale. More
The museum is very peaceful! It’s all about the evolution and the small accomplishments of people residing in Queen’s & the artwork showcased by them. The only thing is they have very limited artwork. I was a little confused as I just got
Cool spot to visit. Very different from a museum like the moma in Manhattan for example. They have more interactive exhibits (currently they have a recording studio that folks can book as well as a ping pong table) as well as some things
This is a small offshoot from the MoMA in Manhattan and I think this museum has more recent contemporary art than the main one. There was only one exhibition that really interested me, the rest were okay in my opinion. The two permanent
What a waste of such a large space! I like art and I’m very choosy about it. I have seen good Modern art, but what I witnessed here was mostly atrocity. Felt like wasted my hours to visit this place and walk around. 1 of the floors was
PS1 put me in curiosity mode. Interactive pieces and the feeling of discovery throughout the nostalgic hallways, closed doors and lovely creaky stairs to the historic boiler room. Rirkrit Tiravanija's "A lot of people" was a beautiful
I recently visited MoMA PS1, and it left a lasting impression on me. The museum offers a unique and thought-provoking experience with its extensive collection of art installations. Each piece invites you to contemplate and engage with
MoMA PS1 is a great place to experience contemporary art. It’s free for New York residents. The museum features a rotating schedule of exhibitions, so there is always something new to see. The exhibits are well-curated and
The MoMA PS1 isn’t my favorite museum in New York City, but I’m glad I got to check it out! The work in this museum is far more outside the box than most stuff in art museums, even by most modern art standards.
Free for New Yorkers. PS1 hosts a lot of interesting large scale and interactive exhibits with a focus on more obscure and out there artists. Definitely a fun visit and less crowded than MOMA More
Free for NY residents! A unique museum experience. The building reminded me of an asylum with its white brick walls, long cold hallways and white doors haha! During my visit, the
Bit run down, old mansion but little character left. Experimental installations, mostly comprising found objects when I went. 4 floors with elevator. Wheelchair accessible. More
Very cool spaces and inspiring artists! Also, no crowds and could really enjoy the art. Had free entrance with the MoMA ticket and honestly, liked it at least as much
Friendly staff, with interesting exhibitions in a great location, just a few minutes walk to 7 train. Free for NYC residents and accepts Cool Culture Pass. More
Very cool experience! If you're into art I recommend. This gallery is a lot smaller than the other moma but carries more contemporary stuff!
If you find yourself in the LIC area and are looking for something to do in your free time, this museum is the perfect choice!
A spectacular exhibition by Daniel Lind-Ramos. I always enjoy the exhibitions here. Great use of an old school. More
Free entry for NYC residents! Fun place to see some pretty avant-garde art. The warm ups are also a lot of fun More
One of the better art galleries in NYC. Almost prefer this location instead of the bigger MOMA in Manhattan. More
Great contemporary art place in an old building in New York. I loved the arts pieces in the basement. More
