After Mobius Lounge Bar, being the venue for, and after hosting the unfortunate death of a 54 year old man in recent weeks, it appears they the mobius staff, have learnt little to nothing from the tragedy, and their newly revised security policy appears to be that, if an unprovoked assault should break out on the dance floor, Mobius Security staff, instead of looking for calm or for the restoration of peace, their assumed task is to simply take the offending victim of the unprovoked assault by the neck and throw said victim out onto the street, they the Mobius security staff then repeatedly ignore the victims desperate appeals for protection as they lock said victim (still dazed from original unprovoked attack) outside and into the volatile orbit of the attackers, thereby leaving them the victim to their fate and where the victim can be re-victimised a second time courtesy of Mobius and its negligent security protocols. Think it won't happen to you? think again, this actually happened to our daughter this past weekend, and she was only saved from the second violent assault that followed when Security staff from the nearby Telegraph hotel saw her being knocked unconscious during the second violent attack and ran across the street to rescue our daughter from the unrelenting violence, truly we cannot thank the Telegraph hotel security staff enough for what they did for her. So what's the take away message here? It's this, if your heading down to Mobius tonight, you might need to first Lawyer up, you might also need to tread lightly and watch your dance moves because you just may inadvertently dance yourself into danger or into an early grave courtesy of Mobius staff and their reckless and wilful disregard for their patrons and their personal safety and wellbeing............

Great place, bouncers are really friendly and up for a casual chat and do there job fantastically, I couldn't speak higher of them. The drink prices are actually reasonable, which is extremely rare for a nightclub. The music is awesome, I can't ever remember the the DJ playing a bad set, the music tends to be a mix of glitch hop, dubstep (neuro and glitch) and remixed rap which is a lot different from the standard around here. The only real problem is the amount of drugs here, you're very likely to see people drop tabs right in front of you, only real thing keeping it from being a 5.

There's never a line to get in, the bouncers are nice and the drinks are all reasonably priced. They play way better music that the generic stuff you hear on the radio and at other clubs in Hobart. They primarily play 'glitch hop', giving the place a cool underground vibe. Generally speaking this is seen as the place you end up later on in the night when you're already really drunk. Best to come here after midnight when you're already many drinks down on a night out.

What a fantastic, honest man, Pete the bouncer is. I left my briefcase at a different establishment one week ago and it was found by Pete at Mobius one week later. He rang me interstate, and is making the effort to send it back to me. If such a quality of a man works at this place it must be a fantastic establishment. I would recommend trying this place and saying a cheery hello to Pete.

lost my phone and it was handed into Mobius, had a male staff member call my boyfriend to let us know it was there but we couldn't pick it up til Wednesday. Then he called again yesterday and said hey we actually own The Whaler so I'll just leave it there and you can grab it tomorrow. He didn't have to do that!! Cheers :)))

Best club in all of Tasmania if not Australia, plays the best bangers till the early hours of the morning, this club is by far the most vibrant and extravagant club, it has a great overall vibe and a good location

  • rhysandtheninjas

Please save your money and go to other clubs, music was terrible, dj needs to step up his game, place just looks dirty, bouncers were the only good part and they were upstairs

  • Grace Ho

Best nightclub in Hobart because they don't play top 40s pop music. Beers are reasonably priced and there's an ATM inside . Awesome bar staff & bouncers are friendly.

Not sure if this place gets busy but myself and my partner basically had the venue to ourselves for over an hour during our Hobart trip. A very surreal experience

  • Joe (Jobim)

Probably the only place to play music that is getting close to decent club music, but you stick to the floor and there is no eftpos. Instead there is an ATM.

  • Glenn Styles

Grimey, gritty and raw, it's one of the few places that isn't poisoned by pop music in Hobart. Get your dubstep and glitch hop here. Drinks affordable.

  • Lillian Minkhelm

Smells absolutely rotten, the floor feels like it hasn’t been cleaned in a decade and the bathrooms are always covered in vomit and/or blood.

  • Flos Li

A cannot miss place if you are having a big night out. One of the most popular places in Hobart. Great for hip hop bangers and scratch DJs.

  • Kohana Cal

Great bar if your looking for an awesome night out. Staff are absolutely unreal, shoutout to the bouncer Peter who found my wallet for me.

  • Nat Gordon

No EFTPOS!! Unless it's 2am and you're too drunk to care that you're going to be stuck to the sticky floor, probably give it a miss.

  • Nessa K

Was an interesting bar, underground, drinks always made right, even on a Wednesday there were lots of people on the dance floor.

  • Jules Bolwell

Between the flowing Cassy Blues, and Pete's gorgeous pony tail, its like a slice of heaven right on Hobart's waterfront!

  • Samuel Leung

Always good beatz and fun times. Don't expect fake glitz n glam though. It's all about the music and Cascade Lager.

  • Mohammed Raihan

Very popular dance bar for weekend nighters. People can enjoy drinking and socializing till 6 am on weekend nights.

  • Dee Dare

Love getting down to DJ Mad good service from all involved and would love the place to be pumping again

  • Sebastian Zoche

Not the best music, it's rather really crowded and stuffy air or empty
