Katie has taken care of my hair since she started behind the chair 10+ years ago. She and her team have seen me through a million phases of my life and all of the highlights, lowlights, and gray blending that comes along with that. I trust Katie and her stylists implicitly, mostly relying on their recommendations since I have no vision of the specifics of what my hair should look like. I don't know how she does it, but Katie has a way of asking all the right questions to figure out what I'm looking for and executing that vision with little to no direction from me. I appreciate the full disclosue of the amount of time, upkeep, and financial investment each service will take. When I started a new job and didn't have as much time to spend at the salon, Katie rolled with it and adjusted her magic to suit my new lifestyle. I have never left the salon feeling less than amazing, full of confidence, and feeling great about myself. I've seen other stylists at the salon when my schedule hasn't meshed with Katie's and have had the same wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone on her team. I has been a joy to see her grow into the amazing business owner that she is, investing in herself and her time. I love the supportive vibe of the salon and will continue to stick with them as long as I have hair on my head.

Maddie is a visionary! I play fast and loose with my hair - it grows back so I’m not afraid of a cut I’m not in love with. I had a basic idea and showed Maddie some pictures, but also told her I wanted to go with what she thought would look best. My experience was nothing less than amazing. I’m a stickler for 5 star ratings because usually there’s something that can be improved upon, but I truly have nothing negative to say. Every stylist in there is friendly and fun and Maddie balanced my opinion and hers perfectly. She had her own vision from the pictures I showed her, cleared it with me, asked some questions along the way about length and style but mostly did the dang thing and did it without missing a beat.

I don't usually leave reviews much, but I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience coming here a few weeks back. All of the staff is so friendly and the good vibes interacting with everyone created such a welcoming atmosphere! I was pretty nervous about not only cutting a good amount of hair off, but trying something new with purple color on the ends as well. I'm so incredibly happy with the cut and color I got from Adam; he was so kind, receptive, and thorough walking me through everything, making sure to keep the integrity and health of my hair a priority and I can't thank him enough for it! I want to first say everyone in this salon is so welcoming! You feel like you are at the small beauty shop and everyone is laughing and talking! However, when it comes to their skills these peeps know what they are doing!!! I got to Maddie for my hair color and I am VERY picky and she doesn't a great job EVERY TIME!!! I have even trusted her to do my wedding hair next week!!! I had my trial and I showed her a picture and she nailed it. It was perf! I am really excited I was recommended to go to Maddie! I have also went to Katy who did my eyelashes (lift and tint) and she did a wonderful job!!! She uses BLUE BLACK for the tint color and it made my eye color POP more! Katy is also so friendly and nice!

I have been seeing Katie for over 2 years now and cannot say enough with regard to her talent and precision with hair. I was lucky enough to receive a referral from my wedding planner and I am so grateful I went to see Katie when I did. She’s thorough and takes her time when it comes to color, cut, style, extensions, you name it! And if anything ever looks less than what you expect, she will change it immediately. I have never stuck with a stylist this long, and the only thing that could make me change is moving out of state! She’s helped nurture my hair back to good health and given me the natural looking length and volume I’ve always wanted. You’d be a wise consumer to give her a try!

Elysse Cantu is a hair expert! I landed in her chair after years of dying my gray hair, which resulted in brittle hair and bad haircuts. I was tired of the inevitable white line and the requirement that I get a full color at least every 4 weeks. Elysse changed all that. She was able to blend my grays with my natural color and gave me the best haircut ever! The best thing is that I no longer have the 'skunk' stripe of grays growing out, but a beautiful blend of colors that looks natural from the day I leave her chair to 8 weeks later! The haircut is easy to maintain as well. I highly recommend Elysse.

I switched to Modern Muse Beauty Collective about a year ago after getting a referral from a friend. After my first visit, I never looked back! Modern Muse salon is consistently comfortable, clean, professional and friendly. My cuts and color with Elysse are something I look forward to! She is so attentive and personable, and a true expert in her field. My Joy of Beauty facials with Katie L. are a relaxing escape that always leaves my skin glowing! I also recently got my eye brows tinted and waxed by Katie, and I am hooked! Her skin, health and beauty expertise is second to none.

I had my hair styled here for my engagement party and I have to say it was a pretty mediocre experience honestly, the stylist was not exactly proficient in curly hair styling and I was quite disappointed with the final result as it looked pretty much like if I styled my hair by myself Really expected a whole lot more , especially after seeing other reviews and the so called 5 star rating… Will not return, prefer blow dry bar over this any day and the prices are reasonable if you want below average results - the staff was however pretty kind and welcoming

Absolute 10 out of 10! The entire team is welcoming & friendly - and you can tell they are a true team by how well they openly collaborate to make sure your needs are met! A friend recommended Adam - absolutely stellar! I had a bad experience at another salon in Austin, and Adam was able not only able to fix those problems but give me hair that I loved again! He has such a talent and a great personality - so easy to talk to - he's the kind of person you feel like is an old friend even if you just met. Cannot recommend Adam and Modern Muse enough!

The best salon I have ever been too, a 10/10 experience. The team always provide a comfortable & safe environment that makes hair appointments something to look forward too. Adam in particular is a true diamond. He is very talented at what he does and is also an incredibly warm and charismatic person. I always have the best time with him and really value and trust to guide me on my hair journey. And a bonus, appointments feel like I'm just catching up with a friend! I puffy heart LOVE this salon! I’m not a girly girl so going to the salon has always been a bit intimidating to me. But there’s something special about Modern Muse Beauty Collective. There’s an all-inclusive, welcoming vibe that flows through the salon. The stylists are wildly talented, caring and funny and they know their stuff! They’ve even been able to teach a tomboy like me how to do my hair in ways that garner praise from others. I’ve been going here for 10 years and have never considered going elsewhere.

Maddie is the best! I’m always anxious trying out a new hairstylist since hair can be an investment. Maddie made me feel so comfortable like we had been friends for years. She gave me amazing advice AND the best confidence. I loved Maddie so much, I had her do my bridal party’s hair for the wedding and all the girls were amazed. Truly the best. Every single human at Modern Muse makes me feel so comfortable. I’m partial to Maddie of course as she does my hair and cares for me so well! I feel comfortable telling her ‘no’ just as much as I feel comfortable saying ‘let’s do it!’ While I normally get your run-of-the-mill highlights and nothing crazy, time and time again I’m not disappointed. I've been coming to Modern Muse since 2021. I typically see Maddie, but everyone on the team is friendly and skilled. Maddie is very talented and I always leave happy with my haircut, balayage, perm, etc. I am currently engaged and can't wait for Maddie to do my wedding hair! The salon is cute and clean. Parking is easy (a huge plus in my book, especially in Austin). Highly recommend! Worth every penny!

I've been seeing Elysse for almost 2 years now! Which is the longest I've ever been with a stylist, and I'm so happy I found her. She knows exactly what I like and what looks good on me, she is honest about what going to make the most sense but she is also down if I wanna switch things up and try something new. Highly highly recommend. 10/10. P.s. her scalp massage is to die for.

I love this place! Katie cuts my curly hair better than anyone I’ve ever been to. I always worry I’ll come out with heavy ends or a triangle cut, but Katie does a great job. I usually spend a couple of weeks hating my haircut and waiting for it to grow out or for me to get used to it, but I love my cut from the moment I leave the door. Thank you Katie for the great job!

Best hair treatment I have ever gotten. By far the most detail oriented and dedicated time taken for sculpting my hair. They took very good care of me and they even helped me pick out a new brand of styling paste to shape my hair.
