We as a family of four (2 adults & 2 kids 6 and 3) went for a late lunch at the currents location in Edmonton. We were greeted and seated pretty quick. Our waitress Olivia, provided us menus and took our order. She brought our initial drinks and that was the last time we saw her until cheque time. When our meals came out, my husband's burrito bowl chicken was pink and leaking what appeared to be chicken blood (raw runny pink clear tinged juice). We flagged a kind young girl and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. She came back and offered for the kitchen to cook the chicken a little longer and bring it back. Not wanting to risk cross contamination and get food poisoning, My husband opted for their spicy chicken sandwich in lieu. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was 90% batter and 10% meat. I had to pick off a lot of breading just to get to the meat to eat it. I'm not one of those people who pick off the breading, I ordered a breaded sandwich, I was expecting breading, but this was ridiculous. My husband's replacement meal sandwich was waaaaaaaaaay better than mine -- night and day difference. Our children's meals were good, no issues with those. When we were done our meals we waited for half an hour to get our bill, no staff to flag down. Not sure if there was a staff meeting going on, but no one. We finally flagged the hostess down asking for our bill. Olivia came and we paid. Not once did she ask how everything was. I said kindly that I was disappointed in the whole experience; she just looked at me blankly and walked away. Not even an I'm sorry or what can we do to improve. I wish my husband didn't tip!!!! Ugh, but it's been ingrained in us to treat others kindly even if the service and meal was terrible.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but had to this time. Drove an hour into Windermere for dinner. Never coming to this location again. Service was abysmal, they were not very busy, took 10mins for our server to take drink orders another 10 for the drinks. We were already concerned so we ordered our food when we ordered the drinks Our food didn't come out until over an hour after we ordered. We did get our appetizers 30-40 minutes after we ordered. One member of our party ordered a medium rare steak. It was blue rare at best. All the fries at our table were cold except the plate with the blue rare steak that was warm. Most of our food was luke warm. We had to flag down a server and were stuck waiting for a steak we already waited an hour for. Watched other tables who arrived after us get there food before us and one of the tables also sent back food. They had weird blue table cloths on the tables that I have never seen before and then the paper on the table. The manager eventually came out to check in on us but it was all for not. She told us they put the same steak back on the grill and brought it back out in a to go container(which we asked for). They brought us back the same cut up steak now well done and burnt. They brought us a bill with the steak still on it and 50% off the entire bill. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager didn't come back to the table and sent the server with a message saying they would take care of the entire bill. Avoid this location if you can. It was the worst Montana's experience I have ever had. Had many other great experiences at much busier Montana's locations. Seriously one of my worst dining experiences ever!

Update: Not a surprise but when you give an honest review to the negative, no response from management. Keep this in mind,,,,,, Have been here several times and had mixed results to both extremes. Initial trips were disgustingly slow and poor service. Food is consistently on point so not an issue. We gave it another try and magic happened. Our server, Danielle, changed everything. She is very responsive and understands customer service. We only come back when she is here and only if she can serve us. Great job Danielle, your efforts are noticed and appreciated. Then as quickly as it turns to good, it can go back to bad as a result of the manager on duty. When you openly tell staff that if that customer can accept whoever is serving or leave,,,,,, well we appreciate the notice. Once again, if Danielle is not serving,,,,, we will go elsewhere as the attitude and respect from other staff is not to be tolerated. Good luck,,,,, our business will be going elsewhere. Management needs to understand the food is ok but not why we come back. The staff is the only reason and when you act this way, we are gone. I would welcome contact from corporate to discuss further.

This was our first time trying Montana's and overall it was pretty good. We came due to their all you can eat ribs promotion. We ended up trying all 4 of their sauces and we definitely liked their Texas bold the most. All though all you can eat the wait times are quite high so if you're planning on eating a lot bring your patience! The ribs themselves were just ok they did not fall off the bone and a couple times were actually luke warm. For the sides the corn bread was super good and the beans just ok. For my main I had the pulled pork sandwich with side poutine. The meat tasted really good and overall I quite enjoyed it. Could have used more BBQ sauce though since I did find it a bit dry. The poutine however was truly fantastic. The gravy was so good and they had real cheese curds which was nice. Also love that they have Pepsi products. The theming of the restaurant was really neat and the service was friendly but the kitchen was a bit slow but it was busy. The staff actually sing happy birthday to the tables here which happened twice during our meal which was kind of annoying. Overall though for the price it was worth it and will go back for sure.

My family and I enjoyed our dinner this evening at this location, and we were provided one of the best servers I have seen in some time. Jacob was extraordinarily friendly, polite, patient, and respectful. He showed enthusiasm and interest in our conversation and even joked and laughed a bit, all while providing perfect service the entire time. His attention to detail was spot on, he checked on numerous tables in his section many times, including ours, and was prompt when it came to asking for refills on drinks or more food orders and bringing the final bill. I especially enjoyed when he took the order from my 4 year old son, who wanted to order for himself. Jacob showed care and understanding of others, even towards children, and for us, this matters a lot. Everyone should be given exceptional service, no matter the age or differences in cognitive abilities. The food was great, the ambiance was enjoyable, and the server made our evening that much better. Thanks, Jacob!!

We usually get great food from this place or most montana's location, but last night experience was by far the worst. Our server Hanna have served us cold food. We had all-you-can eat ribs. The fries was cold, the ribs was very fatty, there was less sauce. We had another batch of ribs, took forever even it was not that busy. My ribs was not fully cooked, she took it back to the kitchen, waited another 15min. Came back, very chewy.. gross.. My husband requested if we can just take our food with us, since we were there for 2 hours and our kids are tired, but she said "it's all you can eat ribs, so you can't" I mean, we understand that but it took you forever to get our food. My husband and I only had 2 servings each, but my was gross so I did not eat it. Second, how she denies our request was rude and no tack at all. Thanks Hanna for the awful service, will definitetly NOT coming back again.

Food: It was a mixed trip for me. I ordered Fish and Chips, one piece was overdone to being inedible, the other was mostly okay but somehow the end was underdone, our other three meals were ok. Service: the restaurant seemed quite overstaffed yet somehow we only saw the server twice before the bill came. I would have sent my food back if I'd have had anyone to send it back with. Bathrooms: I found the bathroom quite clean, possibly because the restaurant hadn't really gotten busy yet. Somehow both paper towel dispensers were broken which was a little disappointing. All told we spent $75 on lunch and I feel that was too much for what we got.

This weekend my family and I tried Montanas for the first time since around this time last year when we stopped going because our food kept coming out cold. However, when we dined this Friday, our minds on Montanas completely changed. Taryn our server provided great service as soon as we sat down letting us known about their lobster special which we might try next time, attentive with our kid letting them order on their own, and to top it off food came out hot and delicious different from the couple times we dined.

Stopped by on New Years Day, started with the wing special and went with the 2 pce fish & chips as a main. The fish was massive, the beans were great, and the apple butter wings were on point.(Honestly too much food, I couldn't finish it!) Have been there in the past and was usually good, tonight it was by far the worst service I've ever had. Waited an hour and still no food and no one to even come by and say anything or check our drinks. I finally go check and the waitress finally comes by and says sorry and makes up an excuse as to why the people that came after us have eaten and are leaving. I said we're leaving and dont want the food and she had the audacity to have to check if she can take our meals off the bill. As if im paying for food i didn't get. Will definitely not be going back.

I've ordered from Montana's through Uber eats the brisket sandwich many many times. I don't know if this was an off order but I've never tasted the meat so dry and tasteless. On top of that they forgot the barbecue sauce which is a key ingredient in a barbecue restaurant. Since it was without sauce I tried but just couldn't help but feel this meat isn't as premium as it used to be. I gave up and headed to the store for BBQ sauce. No luck contacting the restaurant. I'll be looking elsewhere for brisket

Best service I have ever received, Lauryn at the Montanas by the Cineplex and Cabelas on currents is the best waitress I’ve ever had and gave the best service, I highly recommend coming here and asking if she is here and if she is if you can be seated in her area, I gave her over $100 in a tip for the immaculate service, Lauryn if you ever see this, thank you so so much you were an amazing waitress and I hope you have an amazing time with this establishment

Visited Montana's for dinner recently. Overall, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and kind. The dining atmosphere was pleasant, despite the busy evening. However, I was a bit disappointed with the untidy washroom and plates that had noticeable stains. Had a birthday celebration at Montana’s and it was awesome. Their ribs are wonderfully grilled as usual. My daughter loves the Mac n cheese skillet at Montana’s! It tastes fabulous and is topped with a crispy layer of baked bread crumbs. Server was helpful although the food was not arriving fast enough on a busy Saturday night. Had the nachos with pulled pork. Very tasty but the only thing I can say is that they need to layer the goodness more. At the end of the feast it's just bare chips for at least quarter of the plate. Easy remedy for the cooks to do. Ribs are spectacular. Always enjoy going there.

Love the ambience and the food. Service was mediocre, there were times when we had to remind the staff a few times on certain requirements/ requests. Come here at 7:19 was seated almost immediately. Took about 15 minutes before a waitress came. Ordered, then waited until 8:30 to receive our dinner. Cold potato, mine was cold fries. Son's came with tomatoes when he requested no tomato. Ribs were burnt and dry. We did not receive the corn bread. Asked server and she says they ran out. Terrible, Terrible. Montana’s is our go to when we want to eat out. The prices are good, especially the for portion sizes. Steaks are almost always cooked perfectly and very tasty. Sides are good and you get 2. My husband loves the rib and wing combo. They have the best chicken strips as far as my 8 year old is concerned! Service is really good and whenever there’s an issue it’s quickly resolved.

I took my parents for bunch of appetizers. It was our first time at this location. We been to other locations so many other times. Only complaint is - my expectations were high regarding customer service, but we had to wait for some time to get the menus served. Other than that, their food was great as always. Made an order for pickup and asked for extra sauce. When I came home the wings were dry. This is the third time it has happened, so I ended up calling and spoke to a manager and explained that this had happened three times now. We had the best food and service ever at any Montanas! I had the buttermilk chicken and substituted fries for garlic mashed. Green beans were cooked perfectly. Lots of chicken gravy for dipping. By far the worst service ever. We got our drink an hour after ordering them and then served our food cold. Did nothing for our son’s birthday. We will never be coming back here again. The manager didn’t even do anything after we complained how terrible the service is.
