I was super thrilled to place my little one here - only to realize it would be the worst nightmare for my family : - Manotick Montessori is not an accredited Montessori. The teachers may have certification, but they are NOT following Montessori methods . The classrooms are not clean. They are not organized in a manner that is conducive to a child’s mental and physical development. The teachers are not engaged with the children to support their learning or help them with their curiosity. In fact , often they are just trying to survive their day given they have insane amount of kids , and while the ratios are approved by whatever authority , the reality is there’s way too many kids and the staff is over burdened. - The provided meals are horrible . My little one who has the best appetite did not eat well all week; despite it often the Centre posted on their app that she ate “most” of their food . I was sending meals which were being returned as well . - My little one came home dirty every day, socks and shoes filled with sand, lunch box and water bottle filled with sand . It almost felt like there was little to no attention paid in cleaning up the child after outdoor play. - The classroom is crowded , very few items on the shelf . The head teacher had no idea what she was doing and basically is known to show PG movies in the class. I wonder how that is acceptable for a group of children under 4? I don’t think parents send their kids to expensive “ Montessori’s “ to watch television and Hollywood’s best block buster of the year . - The outdoor yard and it’s equipment was the saddest part of the entire experience. From used pots and pans , to a vegetable crate to old “donated” items …. It almost felt like my child was sifting through garbage / discarded items . One would assume that in the heart of Manotick / Greely - where hard working parents are sending their kids for a “ Montessori” experience , the Centre would at least invest in buying a few age appropriate items ? A mud kitchen? Pretend wooden or other material items for sensory play? I was really shocked at the poor status of the toys / items the kids had to play with. One picture sent to me was titled “ fix car” and it wasn’t some activity , or challenge .. it was an old broken car my kid was given to play with ! That’s great for character building but let’s not charge families an arm and a leg and call this some sort of an activity . - The final kicker was a picture I would love to share but won’t to protect the privacy of children — but basically during meal times , the teachers serve “dry” items such as bagels or crackers on tissue paper ? No plates , no utensils …? I was shocked ! There was no dignity , no respect in how food was served to children. All is to say, we pulled our child out and decided to send her to a legitimate and accredited Montessori. I am saddened because maybe the people that work there aren’t bad folks - but they are still part of a program that is not child friendly , not educational , nor safe or in correlation with basic health , hygiene and safety standards .I would NOT recommend this place and I hope that existing families ask questions and ask for pictures and videos to get a real insight into this place .

Our children attended Manotick Montessori ("Montessori by Brightpath") for over 3 years. Unfortunately, the quality of the instruction and programming decreased significantly since Brighpath took over this daycare. Some of the teachers are very kind and clearly love what they do, but others are not very personable and do not seem to enjoy their jobs. Over the three years, there were many tiny issues that eventually culminated in the decision to remove our children. Space is limited, so I will only include a few examples that demonstrate a lack of professionalism and program quality at this daycare. 1. The teachers decided to show a PG movie to the children at Christmas time (inappropriate language, themes involving pot use, etc.) 2. The program offers extra curricular courses for additional fees such as "Junior Mathletes" and "Early Readers", but these programs basically involved the center staff printing free PDFs with letters and numbers from the internet and having the children scribble all over them. Our oldest was far behind her peers in reading and math compared to other children who started in public school (JK), rather than "private school" 3. The center randomly implements pricing changes, usually with less than 60 days notice, and even sometimes around the holidays! 4. There are many companies and organizations that offer "Montessori accreditation" for a fee, although not all are recognized by the international Montessori association. The one used by this site (NAMC) is not recognized and will give anyone a certificate for paying and doing their "online course." 5. During a power outage, the center did not contact parents to tell them that the school had no power/water, but instead told parents at dropoff that they would have to pick up their children within the hour. If they had just used their mailing list to contact parents when they lost power (hours before opening), many could have arranged for alternate care prior to the start of the work day. Most importantly, when our youngest started, in her first week, we would receive texts every day if she was crying (sometimes within less than an hour of dropping her off). Think about that for a moment - the teachers were complaining that she was crying during her transition into their care. For a company that blogs about wanting to end "mom guilt", I find it completely insulting that they would then text a parent at work to tell them that their toddler is crying and "needs to be held too much" in their first week! Edited to add: it's very disingenuous to post a response claiming that we never spoke about these issues when we were there. We had multiple meetings with you prior to withdrawing our children.

Childcare feels like one of the biggest decisions early on for your baby. It can be nerve wracking and overwhelming. We have one son, Benedict and similar to many, we were very concerned about the centre he attended. Our priorities were safety, care and attention and programming. Location was also a concern, as we didn't want to feel like he was outdoors in a "parking lot". Benedict started at 18 months after many months home with both parents. He is an only child and we wanted to be sure he would socialize and learn to be around his peers. We find the Centre a well run, safe and stimulating place for our active little boy. He is happy to be there and misses school a lot during this pandemic. The teachers are personable and clearly care about the kids in their care. Benedict's programming has allowed him to advance quickly with many milestones, we were always pressuring ourselves over at home with two big careers and not a lot of extra time. Any issues we have had, have been dealt with, addressed swiftly and professionally. I'd rather know how a business performs when things are hard rather than when I am already content. To me, that is a true test of what you're made of and how you deal with confrontation. This was a great decision for our family. Our son progressed/es, is happy to be there, enjoys the children, teachers and staff and is constantly learning. From math, to letters, to cooking and cleaning, to toilet training and walking (not running everywhere he goes), Manotick Montessori is a great daycare for your children.

Our daughter Sarina has been attending Manotick Montessori since 2018. The toddler program teachers, specifically Miss Helen , made the transition from home to school as seamless as possible with frequent updates and constant reassurance. Miss Helen was also amazing when it came time to assist with potty training. Sarina is now in the Casa program and absolutely adores her teacher Miss Kelsey. I have no doubt in my mind that without Manotick Montessori Sarina would not be as far along in terms of speech and educational development. I am amazed everyday by the knowledge Sarina displays at home which has clearly been instilled by the Manotick Montessori center and staff. We have been very happy with our experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a daycare center for their little ones.

Our son has been attending the Manotick Montessori since he was 13 months old (he is now 3) and we cannot express enough how incredible the entire staff is. All the teachers are so incredibly loving and patient with the children. You can rest assure that your child is in phenomenal care! Our son loves the school and has become so attached to his teachers and has made some great friends! Jenny, the Director, is so organized and responsive whenever we have any questions! Communication with parents is amazing – we are provided with regular detailed updates throughout the day highlighting what our son is doing, including lots of pictures too! Our son has learned and developed so much over the years that he has been there, and we are so thankful to the whole team at Manotick Montessori!

Our daughter started at Montessori by BrightPath in Manotick this Sept. It was her first time being away from home. She was only 21 months when she started. She had a bit of a rough start she wasn't eating much of the meals provided and would cry and be very disruptive to the other children in her class at nap time but the teachers were so great! They helped her through this by listening to my daughters needs and by talking me through her feeling and anxiety throughout the day. We together made a plan for her and in just a couple weeks my daughter built a wonderful and trusting relationship with her teachers and is now thrilled to be going to going their everyday. No more tears and eating her meals. We have had the best experience and highly recommend this school.

We heard such great things about this Montessori in Manotick from friends and family. We switched our LO from another daycare provider to here as soon as there was an available spot. Our experience with all the teachers, and staff there live up to all the hype. The teachers are so caring of our little miss. They empower the children in a safe and positive environment. I love the app with all the updates of the day's activities. I love that the teachers actively engage the children and complete fun activities with them like, painting, making bird feeders, taking care of the plants in the class, science experiments etc. Our LO is always SO excited to go to school!

  • swishak

We have been so impressed with the love and care the team at Manotick Montessori has shown to our daughter. They provide us with regular detailed updates with how she is doing throughout the day, including lots of pictures! The communication has been excellent and they have always been very quick to respond to any questions we've had along the way. Our daughter loves it and has learned so much. They put an amazing focus on real-world behaviours like manners, grooming, tidying up, cooking, and more. We've had such a fantastic experience all around and we're so happy! Would recommend this location to anyone looking into a Montessori option for their child!

Arianna loves attending the Manotick Montessori School and it has made the transition (away from being at home with me all day) way easier then expected. Ms. Helen the head of the Toddler program, is absolutely wonderful and a huge asset to the program; her advice and experience is invaluable and her approach to raising children mirrors our own. Ms. Helen and all of the teachers in the Toddler 1 room go above and beyond to take excellent care of our child. We are completely confident in their expertise and abilities and we think that Arianna is getting the best possible start to her education through the Manotick Montessori School.

Both our daughter and our son have attended this Montessori Centre and we have so many great things to say about it and its staff. All of the staff we have dealt with have been nothing but nurturing, loving and kind. We have always felt that our children were cared for as if they were their own. Both of our children have always been excited to go there in the mornings, and sad to leave at the end of the day. We have always loved the activities, structure and instruction and care that has been provided. Sending both of our kids to this Centre was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

  • Ana Tavares

We love Manotick Montessori! We truly looked at all the opportunities available to re-introduce our son to childcare after the covid quarantine. We were truly so impressed with the level of care and attention taken by Manotick Montessori to ensure the safe and comfortable return to school. Our little one has attended camp over this summer and aboslutely loved his experience, from the first day he told me he loved the centre so much that he wanted to go there "forever". Jenny is extremely responsive and attentive & we love receiving the daily photos and updates.

  • Stephen Beehan

We love Manotick Montessori. Our 12 month old began there in September. We were worried he wouldn’t be ready for the structured classes and socializing with 13-14 other kids in the class at such a young age. The teachers are amazing and helped transition our son into the environment so well! The communication is excellent with daily updates and photos through an app. Although the price is on the higher end for child care for a 12 month old, it is worth every penny! He has learned and developed so much since beginning. We highly recommend Manotick Montessori!

Our daughter loves attending Manotick Montessori. She is always excited to go to “school”. The transition into care was seamless, and she never shed a tear! (Maybe once when we told her it was time to come home). It’s evident in this response that the toddler room teachers make our daughter feel comfortable and cared for. They have plenty of activities to keep her mind active. The location is unique in that she gets to go on nature walks, and explore the outdoors often. I was able to have a tour of the school as well, and it is lovely inside and out.

Our son Asher has been a part of the Manotick Montessori family since 2018 and he absolutely adores his school, his teachers, the incredible variety of activities & the wealth of knowledge he's exposed to on a daily basis. He's already a very well rounded, polite and secure kid at the age of 3 and a major part of that is a testament to Manotick Montessori helping us raise him with the right values. He's made some incredible friends along the way and these friendships will be cherished for many many years to come.

Such a great centre! Teachers and staff always have welcoming smiles on their faces each morning when taking my kiddo. Makes for a comforting send off every day. They update you daily with how your kiddo is doing and are always open to answering any questions you may have throughout the day. My daughter loves going to preschool and my soon to be preschooler is very excited to join the program next year. I can say my daughter is ready for kindergarten next year and Montessori has played a major role in that.

We have had the pleasure of sending both of our girls to Brightpath Montessori and honestly have nothing but good things to say about all the Casa teachers! They are great at connecting with the kids, showing them a variety of engaging and fun activities, and making the parents feel comfortable with flexible drop off and pickup times. Best part is the Himama app that lets you know exactly what your child is doing, what they’re eating, nap times, and personal pictures throughout the day. Thank you

Our daughter has attended school here for almost a year and we couldn't be happier with it. Our daughter loves going to school every day to play with her friends. We've tried 3 different schools in the Ottawa area and this one has by far had the best program. The teachers are caring and bring a thoughtful program structure for the students to learn and express her creativity. The personalized daily reports, in-school cooked meals, and weekly take-home arts and crafts are also a nice added bonuses.

My son just started Casa 1 this year and is absolutely loving school. This school has such a great environment for the children to learn in. The teachers are great ( Especially his :) Krystyn has been great with my son and is personable. Dealing with the director Jenny has been smooth sailing and very professional. They listen to all concerns if any and their number one goal is to make sure the kids have as easy as possible transition. Great school, very happy with it. Thank you everyone!

  • A Kwan

My daughter and niece both attend Manotick Montessori and I can say this is the best you can have. Staff are amazing, informative and caring for all the child. They went to JK interview at another school and they both performed really and interviewer had told us that there self-care skill is amazing and very organized at this age. I am really glad that both girls learn this kind of life long skill at this young age. Thank you for everything to all the teachers at this Montessori.

  • Jesse Caletti

this is a home away from home for my children. i couldn't imagine putting them anywhere else. i am not looking forward to the day they have to say good bye. the staff is not only educated but they are caring and loving. they truly take an interest in each child and it shows through their progress. this child care center is one of a kind. you will not find another Montessori school that follows the method, has this wonderful staff and the most beautiful aesthetic like this one!

  • Jerry Maniate

Both of our children enjoyed the time that they spent at Manotick Montessori since 2018. They loved the interactions with the other children and the staff. The teachers and staff were very caring, nurturing and kind. As parents we were very comfortable with the professionalism and diligence of the staff and the cleanliness of the facilities. The experiences were rich educationally and socially and have prepared our children for transitioning into the school system. Thank you!

  • wenji zhang

I am so impressed with their dedication to the job, especially Jenny. My son was very hard to adjust himself in the daycare at the beginning. Jenny, Mirka and Kristyn are so patient with him and they are my son’s favorite, now he is doing better every day. Jenny discovered that my son loves math then they start to create different math activities for him every day. And my son loves it! I am so grateful that my son has teacher like them.

  • Jennifer Proulx

Our daughter truly loves coming to school and she speaks about Miss Hollis and the other teachers often. It is so evident that she feels comfortable there and truly happy to learn from all of you and the other kids. It is beyond a doubt so reassuring as a parent to know that your child’s introduction to formal learning is a positive one and in such a caring environment. We are looking forward to another year at Manotick Montessori!!

  • Candice Anderson

Our 16 month old has just started at Casa Dei Bambini and I couldn't be happier with our experience so far. They are patient and incredibly thoughtful in ensuring that my daughter integrates well and has a positive experience. They have been attentive to my questions and eased all my concerns as a nervous mother dropping of her little one for the first time. We look forward to having her grow and learn at this beautiful centre.

  • Amanda Powers

Both of my children attend the summer camps run by Manotick Montessori. We’ve had such a positive experience here with the teachers as well as their director, Jenny! We plan on enrolling our youngest full time as a result, and will be sure to send both kids back to their summer camp next year! Highly recommend this childcare centre to anyone looking for a fun, educational and nurturing place for their kids!

  • Jim M

I have had two children attend Manotick Montessori since 2017. The teachers are phenomenal and I know my children are always in excellent care when at the school. The Montessori program has taught them independence and is preparing them for their future in public school. We love the daily reports with pictures! I love that the school is surrounded by nature and has a great playground. I highly recommend!

My little girl Alice's first two weeks of experiences in school was wonderful. She was so enjoy back to school every morning and so happy back home every afternoon. She loves her new teachers Ms. Heather, Ms. Hollis, and Ms. Kelsey, and all new friends in school. All staffs and teachers are fantastic and brilliant. Thanks all for your wonderful job and Alice will keep enjoying the rest of time in school.

We sought out the best for our little girl, and we were thrilled to find this daycare. They are very organized, professional, and friendly. We get daily updates via an app - we greatly value the notes and photos. It's a tough transition from home to daycare, and finding a place that gives us confidence in her care is invaluable. Thank you Ms. Helen, Jenny, and everyone else at Manotick Montessori.

  • Jenny Schuller

Our daughter started the toddler program four months ago. She adjusted very quickly and is loving every moment so far. We thank her wonderful teachers (and new little friends) for such a smooth transition and enriching learning experience. These months have been challenging while navigating a pandemic but the school and it's dedicated principal have handled it phenomenally. Thank you!

We have had a wonderful experience at Montessori by BrightPath Manotick. My 4 year old is challenged and learning so much like reading, writing and has so much pride with her accomplishments. The communication with the centre is second to none. Daily reports and pictures are provided. The extra effort goes a long way for parents.
