"This park is beautiful and well kept"
"Montgomery is a pretty lovely park, has lots of grass and trees"
"Pros: lots of grass and trees, multiple soccer fields, very tall play structures, picnic tables, and it’s across the street from a pool and public library"
"This is my neighborhood park so I'm bias and in favor of it"
"Stopped by to get a run ♂️ in while passing through to CA"
This park is beautiful and well kept. It has an arroyo going through one part, but has a means of crossing from one portion to the other. There are handicapped parking spots in the main lot. Other parking is available along the park's perimeter. There are athletic courts, pathways and a great deal of grass to enjoy. Increasing the beauty and enjoyability of this park are a number of mature trees, which provide shade on hot days and decent shelter during sporadic rain storms. Two downsides of this park. Because of the arroyo, it is highly recommended to keep a close and active eye on little ones. Not only could a tumble result in serious injury, but the possibility of flash flooding without warning does exist. The second problem is the presence of graffiti. Sadly, the picnic tables in the park have been heavily written upon. Apart from offensive language, there are also crude and offensive drawings as well, all of which are inappropriate for younger children. Overall, this is a great spot for a picnic, a family gathering, or a social meeting. Just bring blankets and ignore the tables.
Montgomery is a pretty lovely park, has lots of grass and trees. I've walked here dozens of times while pregnant trying to help my labor, and even after birth my husband and I have enjoyed taking our stroller with the baby around the park to walk. I give it 4 stars because there is always at least 1 bum camped out beneath a tree. Never near the walking path, they usually stick closer to the aroyyo that runs through the park with their sleeping bag or blanket, but they are there and it's an eye sore, as well as a little uncomfortable. You never know if they are on drugs or something. Anyway, I still enjoy this park!
Pros: lots of grass and trees, multiple soccer fields, very tall play structures, picnic tables, and it’s across the street from a pool and public library. Cons: Often busy with family parties, there is a camp of homeless people permanently parked in one corner of the park, if you are the first people there in the mornings you will find used needles and other drug related paraphernalia in the park wood chips, and I have personally seen people fire guns out of their car windows at this park after dark. Conclusion: At 3:00 in the afternoon this is a great park. Do not go here when it is dark.
This is my neighborhood park so I'm bias and in favor of it. Spacious grassy areas, always a soccer game or chance to see Burquenans in medieval roles ❤ my son's favorite observation on Sundays. Great trail and trees to lounge by as well as a tennis court and quaint pool only open in the summer. Next to the library and a Senior center...Great space for groups. However, like most of the city, has some homeless citizens and no public bathroom, which is a real bummer with my three year old sometimes.
Stopped by to get a run ♂️ in while passing through to CA. The park is big and one lap is about 1 mile. I was there between 830p-915pm and there were still plenty of people walking or playing in the open grass areas. There were also a couple of police cars in the area chatting it up, so I felt safe. Probably a better park to be in during the morning and afternoon, but served it purpose for me. Small parking lot for 10-15 cars, plus plenty of street parking.
Coworker told me about this place while discussing libraries. I wasn't even aware of its existence, and oh man, was I missing out. It's a park, lots of shade from the trees to lounge about in, or whatever else you do at parks. Walk your pups, a playground, someone was taking wedding photos the other day, if you dig on parks in your spare time, this one is a must. It's my go to even though it is not anywhere close to where I'm staying.
It's July 2021 and this park is half under construction. On one hand, it's a bit of a nuisance, but on the other hand, you know that this is a recently maintained space and that things will be nice once it's complete. The grass is lush, things smell green here, and I have seen soccer games on weekends here. The library is a short walk away, as is a pool, if I remember correctly. So, this could be a seriously pleasant su.mer day place!
It's a clean park, large and pretty...one of the first places I took my son and granddaughter for a little time out of the house. My son and granddaughter are only 8yrs apart and have grown up together. This is a nice place to come, spread out a blanket and read a book, too...just get outside, be in nature!! Hardly any trash at all, no dog problems, you should go &spend some time outside. It's lovely!
I've been going to this park since swim team in the 1980s. Then tennis practice for DNHS in early 1990s. Had heard that park had gone downhill lately but just visited and still the same great park it always was. Big trees, open areas for sports or activities. Playground is more suited for age 6+ kids as playground equipment is a large structure. Great park.
I love this park, my Chihuahua loves it, the problem I have now is not being able to walk all around the park due to the homeless people there. There's a group of about 5 men that sit together and a few sleeping under trees. One man was sitting on the grass having a conversation to himself. It's a beautiful park. I just wish we could enjoy it more.
This is a great park but I'm giving it 4 stars because I'm not the biggest fan of the playground. I'm 5'8 so I'm a decent height but the swings were sooo high up. I had to jump to get on the swing and struggled to get my 2.5 year old into the child swing. Playground is great for older kids but I wouldn't recommend for little ones.
Grass for days, mature trees pretty clean. It also has a nice small kid playground, it's really close to a library and a swimming pool that is only open in the summer. Downside is their is only 5 picnic tables for the entire park and the trash cans were overflowing with trash. But recommend to stop and enjoy.
We are passing through Albuquerque and we needed to find a good place to bring our son at no cost. This park is in a 20 mins walking distance from where we stayed. It is very ample, lot of field to wall on, we saw locals strolling around or walking their pets, the outdoor playground is also there.
One of the larger parks in Albuquerque, plenty of space for different activities. A designated fun jump location, permit required, with a great playground for children. Plenty of street parking around the park. Tennis courts on site, a great library and a small city pool all at this location.
I enjoy the tennis courts, though wish people would use them ONLY for tennis/pickleball. They are not volleyball courts, not a place to skateboard, roller skate or roller blade. It diminishes the playing experience when the courts are used and abused by non tennis/pickleball players.
Great large park with playground, soccer fields, tennis courts, bike paths, mature trees, and plenty of green space! It is next to a public outdoor pool, a public library, senior center, and a church. Hoping the city continues to invest in this park and continue to make improvements!
Pretty meh of a park. It is separated by an arroyo that runs down the middle of it. A handful of homeless have built their camps here and are wandering around amongst the kids practicing soccer here. Lots of vagrants passing through, probably for the adjacent library and free wifi.
A large city park with large grass lawns, informal soccer fields, large mature trees and newly planted trees. The park complex includes Erna Ferguson Library, Montgomery Pool (outdoor swimming pool open in summer months), Palo Duro Senior Activity Center and offices for YAFL.
Great park, but if you come too early, the homeless take over the playground at night and sleep all over the equipment with cardboard barriers and everything. Even the two guys who mow the grass were looking at it and shaking their heads. Other than that it's a nice park.
For the most part this is a great park and clean. Huge space. Tennis court and jungle gym for the kids. Unfortunately no basketball courts. Some issues occasionally and homelessness is an issue for the park and city but I have never run into any problems there.
This is a great park for activities that need a lot of grass space. There is also a playground for the kids. The park is right next to a very modern public library with computer access and the public Montgomery pool. The park is very clean and well maintained.
We come to walk here several days a week. It is quite a lovely park with beautiful trees in all varieties. Well manicured and watered daily so it's nice and green. Small playground for children, one picnic table, and tennis courts. Behind Erna Ferguson
Love this park. It's very spacious, lots of trees to lay under. Perfect for a picnic or s game of soccer or even frisbi. Picnic tables are available and it's pretty quiet . Very clean to and handicap accessible. My favorite spot to come is this park.
Big place with a lot to do. It has grass fields, a kids park, a pool, and a library. The only thing that takes away from it is the pretty scetchy looking parking lot and YAFL building across the arroyo from the library that I always want to avoid.
Nice Park. Grass is so green you can roll around on it. Just a park no slide or Jungle gym or any fun stuff like that for the kids though. Very quiet and relaxing place to have a little picnic and relax. Even get-togethers like we did today.
This park is really pretty , with lots of trees. Makes for a nice area to walk. Nice part for sports. It is also connected to a community center and library . compared to some other part , but it is large enough it's not that big a deal.
This is an awesome sprawling park with large open grassy areas, a playground, tennis courts, and large perimeter for jogging/walking. Great multi-use park for walking dogs, playing sports, or letting the kids burn off some steam.
Such a fun place to come and play tennis! The park is so well kept up and clean! Its very well maintained and is my favorite park in Albuquerque! There's plenty of room to picnic, relax, run, play tennis and do so much here!
Large park with green grass, nice aesthetic. There's plenty of shady trees to hang out under. You may also find some you can attach a hammock to. If you like walking, the diversion channel goes right through the park.
It's pretty decently.. with an occasional drunk people hanging out near the playground and some of the equipment has taking and is slightly damaged but next to a very awesome library so.. it has its pros and cons.
This park is larger in size with plenty of room for barbecues and sporting events. It also has a large play area for kids as well as tennis courts. It does get a bit crowded during holidays so get there early.
Spacious park not far from home. Clean, well kept (not a lot of dog or goose poop). Not enough play equipment for popularity level. Would definitely benifit from another swing set for both babies and children.
Huge park enough for social distancing plenty of parking around whole park. Has tennis courts, trash bags for dog droppings and playground. Lots of shade for a picnic. very few homeless was clean when we went.
Fun playground, tons of walkways, tennis and pickle ball courts, soccer goal posts and grass and trees everywhere. Also a bike path along the diversion arroyo, great place to play with the kids or the dog.
My favorite park in all of Albuquerque. So many beautiful trees, peaceful, brand-new playground and great for BBQs and picnics. A dog lovers dream park. The view of the Sandia mountains is breathtaking..
It's a nice park, but there is a homeless problem. I feel bad for them. I wish there was a way to help them all. Sometimes you find weed bags, but they do keep the grounds clean for sports and the dogs.
Lots of space....great park...old trees of history past...must have been something to see way back when...i wish the playground was better ...i wish people would put more thought into kids playgrounds.
My late Husband and I would go there to walk our dog or we would go have lunch. I went and got his favourite lunch and went there to have lunch. It was nice but it wasn't the same without him.
Nice area to run around or play games, read books or sit in the shade. Overall very clean park, don't forget the tennis courts perfect opportunity to burn off some calories and build muscle.
It was spacious but there wasn't a lot of maintenance done to the park and it was pretty noticable. There also wasn't a lot of seated areas but it was nice to take a walk and enjoy the sun.
Nice open park with plenty of shade and lush green grass. Their are tennis courts, walking trails, and a playground available here that get plenty of use. A main bike trail runs next to it.
Nice park with tennis courts and a big playground for kids. But go during the day. After 9pm it gets lots of traffic from homeless people walking up the Arroyo and some panhandling.
The park is nice wish the grass was cut a little more often. It would be nice if there was a fenced in dog area but all in all good stop to go walk relax or bring the kids to play.
Great local park, alot of community events, big. Awesome new dog park. Would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the homeless all over. Last time they were on the playground equipment.
Huge park. Seasonal public swimming pool, tennis court, kids play ground and open area for football or soccer games, and there's plenty of shade with area for a birthday party.
It's a nice grassy park, well maintained. But you need to watch out for homeless people sleeping under trees, and people who think it's a dog park so they don't use leashes.
My 2 hours love that Park a lot of open white spaces we all had a blast! Will definitely be going back!
Dog-friendliness
They even provide poo poo bags! Great Park!
The park is huge. There's a dog water fountain. The bike path runs through it. There's no evidence of street people living there. The city does a fine job at maintenance.
The place was so nice and everyone's friendly it's just at night it kind of looks scary but so far in the day and in the morning it's really really nice
Very large park. Public pool, cool arroyo running through. Attracts the full load of people so be weary but plenty of space and a great playground too.
This is a great place to sit and relax. Great place for birthday parties, family get togethers etc. Lots of shade and lots of open space for sports.
This is one of my most favorite parks I'm Albuquerque. The scenery is beautiful and tranquil. It's an awesome park to hang at for the fall season.
This is just a great park. With a library and a swimming pool. Absolutely awesome!
Picnic area
Plenty of tables and plenty of trees.
Love the park and large grass area. More than enough room to do anything! Be aware the closest restroom is the library (that I'm aware of)
My kids like this park. It's big and has lots of room to play catch or other games, away from others. They also like the playground area.
I absolutely love this park & the North Diversion Trail that goes directly to it.
Playground
Playground is covered from the sun!!
Best place to walk, take your dog and play Frisbee with him, fly a kite, picnic with the family, or just take a break from the world
Nice big park. Lots of people playing tennis or in the kid area. Big enough you dont run into other people and dogs while walking.
Nice little park, has a walking path and tennis courts too.
Playground
Nice little playground here at Montgomery Park.
Great place but there is a big pot whole in the parking lot that the city needs to repair as soonest possible
Beautiful park with lots of big trees, walking paths, and tennis/pickleball courts. Near a public library.
Spacious, green and convenient. Montgomery Park is a Great place to unwind with amenities for everyone.
Lots of open space. I take my dog fairly early in the morning to run around. Great walking path too
Huge park with lot's of room to play sports, walk your dog, jog, etc. Nice park with big trees.
Lovely always. Clean. Homeless are sometimes around which is always the downfall of any place.
Plenty of open space with lots of big shade trees. One of Shaolins favorite places …
Tennis courts are well cared for and water sprinklers now do not hit them
Beautiful open areas for recreational attractions and more.
Nice park, but fair number homeless and drugs around park
Beautiful park, great place to have a picnic with friends
Spacious and friendly. Lots of open space!
Nice clean safe park early and afternoon.
Nice clean park with a big playground.
Great park to have an afternoon lunch!
