I’m so glad this climbing gym exists! No only is the place massive, but it has a variety of fun and challenging top rope, bouldering, and lead climbing routes. My favorite part about climbing here is that afterwards I get to reward my body with a nice warm-up in the sauna. Every time I leave, I look forward to coming back!
The big walls are super fun. The routs have a really nice difficulty curve which is very satisfying to work your way up. My biggest negative is the bordering has never felt great at this gym for me. seems to be mostly set up for competition climbing or strength. I haven't ever done a very technical boulder here ever.
This spot has friendly front desk staff and lots of options for climbing and bouldering. They play fun music, have workout spaces, sauna and decent changing room and lockers. I really loved that they celebrated Pride month and had a "queer prom night" with dancing upstairs. Really fun and social.
What a great climbing gum. Our first time at Movement Portland and we really enjoyed it. We hadn’t climbed in a while and it was great to get back on a wall. These walls are way higher than we have experienced before… very nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
I am incredibly impressed by this place. I think it's my favorite out of all the climbing gyms I've ever visited. It's huge, airy, and has separate floors for bouldering vs. rope climbing. There's a massive area for weight training and cardio exercise. I will definitely be back.
A great place to start climbing. Located in the Pearl District in Portland. I signed up to get access to bouldering, top-roping, gym, and yoga classes. Because of covid, the yoga classes are served online, but its still great. I would definitely recommend this place !
I was a member here before and after they changed the name. This is one of the better gyms I've ever been to. They have a huge selection of big wall climbing on the main floor, and bouldering upstairs. They have very clean locker rooms with
I love Movement. The bouldering, top rope, and lead are on point. The sauna is a great amenity. And last but not least the staff are outstandingly friendly and cool people who are into what they do. I appreciate having a place for healthy
Nice gym. Tons of space. Most of the easy routes (10- and below) are pretty basic jug hauls. They get better in the 11s range and up. Grades are a bit soft, even for a gym. No auto belays probably because the routes are pretty much on top
This was such a lovely climbing gym. We were just here for bouldering today, but the roped section looked amazing as well. As for bouldering, there were a great number and variety of problems, so even after two hours there were still lots
The best Climbing gym I’ve been to. It’s huge with everything you can ask for. So many rope routes and a massive bouldering section with really cool overhang wall. Even the bathrooms are nice with free towels and a sauna. The weights and
Amazing indoor rock climbing and bouldering gym. I got my belaying license and was there for around 4hrs. This is definitely one of the places you should try out once.. they have classes as well to learn belaying and then you are free to
Movement Portland is an exceptional fitness and wellness studio. Their range of classes, from yoga to strength training, caters to various fitness levels and goals. The instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging, creating a motivating
I've climbed here as an adult and as a parent. With over 7 years climbing experience, I can say that this is the best gym in Oregon. Kids will enjoy the top rope and bouldering areas. Just make sure to brief them on the rules and you're
Recently went to Plante Granite for guest night and got in for free because my friend is a member. I only had to pay the $8 total for harness, shoes, and chalk bag. In case you've never been PG has a large area downstairs with numerous
This place is amazing! I've been coming in 3 (sometimes 4) times per week for last two months or so and it's become my favorite part of the day. The facility as a whole is clean and bright with lots of windows. The staff are all super
This place reminds me of Vertical world in Seattle. This place has a decent gym area. It is cleaner than all the Seattle metro bouldering and top rope gyms ( edgeworks , sbp, vertical world). This place has a lot of lead climbing for
Pretty "in your face" with their religious-political dogma. As a minority, I felt accosted. It's also stupid-expensive, does not offer parking and the staff is sometimes rude with their selfish attitudes. They aren't accommodating of
This place is my sanctuary. The gym, sauna, incredible climbing facilities, yoga, etc… this place has everything. You don’t have to be a climber. The people who come here and work here are incredibly friendly, interesting, people who
I got one week of access from Groupon. My son was out of school and I wanted to do some activities together so he doesn't play video games all day. He's 10 so he can't do everything. We have zero experience with climbing.
I’ve have been in many bouldering gyms. Only this one has a paid parking 2.20 per hour. They do not have a parking you park on the street. Also, I found here pretty small bouldering area. This gym for 1-2 days to do all
Fantastic gym! Great top knot courses. Lots of fun bouldering routes. Great for beginners- you don't feel awkward learning. Staff is super nice and helpful. Locker rooms are clean and nice. Really great place!
My girlfriend and I visited this gym and also The Circuit while driving on our three week road trip. We’re moving to PDX in December and cannot be more excited to call this gym our
My husband and I have frequented Movement a handful of times for day passes and have always had a great experience. They really have the logistics and vibe of climbing dialed in.
Pretty big compared to other gyms I’ve been to. I’d say it’s comparable to The Circuit’s space but there’s more mat space in the bouldering area so it doesn’t feel as crowded.
Great amenities and progression for new climbers. Intro+ is a great option for those who are in the process of deciding if they want to fully invest in the sport or not.
My go to climbing gym in Portland for Top roping. They are the largest gym in the city and their employees are exceptionally good and talented.
I recently joined the Planet Granite and really love the gym! There is a nice staff and excellent climbing to be done (for adults).
By far the best climbing gym in all of Portland. Routes: Extremely talented route setters with tons of variety in their sets to
The climbs are set decently. I like the large weight lifting and stretching area. Showers aren't very clean.
