Murtala Mohammed Library Complex, is the official State Government owned Library in Kano. Although Kano State Library has been existing for a very long time, this gigantic library complex was officially unveiled and opened for work on the 25th of April 2000 by his Excellency Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who was the then governor of Kano State. The Library is named after the Late General Murtala Mohammed who was assassinated as a military Head of State during a failed coup d'etat attempt. The library complex is massive and also houses other educational facilities aside the library services. It has the American Corner which is project of the American government and it's embassy meant to support and promotion education and also to help those seeking admission and scholarship in America with the right information and education. The library also has a section for lectures and tutorials for Institute of Chattered Accountants (ICAN). It also has a National Teachers Institute wing/section. There is also an ICT section equipped with computers for conducting computer based test (CBT). The Library management has a couple of programs aimed at encouraging reading culture among children and youth. The library still has many spaces that can still be utilized for other programs.

The Murtala Muhammad Library Complex is a government-owned educational facility located on Ahmadu Bello Way in the high-brow Nassarawa Government Reservation Area (G.R.A.). The Library is more than just a library; it is a whole community centre. This is because in addition to the library proper, with its spacious rooms for reading and its substantial collections of information resources, the place boasts a huge conference room that makes it a favourite choice for organizers of educational meets and suchlike. What with a generous parking space that can comfortably accommodate three hundred cars with space to spare, it is constantly being announced over the radio as the venue for so many events.

The Murtala Mohammed Library in Kano state is one of the few public libraries in Nigeria. It is a place that should be visited by anyone that is interested in reading. It is situated at Ahmadu Bello way, Kano. Contained in this library is a very broad range of books. There is a certainty that you will find a book that will be of interest to you if you visit this library. There are a lot more other places in Kano that are worth your attention. However, the places mentioned in this article are the most interesting.

Muritala Muhammed Library is a very big library. It is on Ahmadu Bello way, Nassarawa GRA. The environment is very good for reading although the books there are outdated but if you can come with gour reading materials you will enjoy the place. Also in case you are looking for Ican centre you can always get it here. There are so many section in the Library such as Children section, American Corner, Ican centre etc. It is a nice place to be.

Murtala Muhammad Library Complex houses many important institutions and organisations. Notable among them is Kano State Library Board, American Space Kano, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Kano Branch, Department of Library and Information Science of Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). The building has a large hall for holding seminars, workshops and conferences.

Murtala Mohammed Library Complex is the Central and largest Library in Kano State, the current Library Administration has upgraded the Library to a more digital library with state of the art computer systems & internet connectivity in a well conducive environment! The Library Complex is your go to place whenever you need to concentrate and study!

The persons that conceived the idea of such a great library building structure had a great vision - but i doubt if the current administrators or Govt share in that vision. I guess more than 70% of pple living in Kano does not knw that such a huge Library exists for their benefit - what a pity what a waste?

Attentive staff, a complete library, properly ventilated, spacious. Errrm, the books are a bit old and dusty, maybe because they are not frequently used. But yeah! If you are new in town and need a desk and chair to use your laptop you can go there. It’s also free entrance.

It was very dusty and very limited books. It lacks proper maintenance despite its wide space and proper structure. You can still read there because of the few people there and it's also quite. There's a children's section, working e-library

It is the biggest library owned by the Kano state government. You can get access to various books ranging from fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, newspapers, Islamic religious books, to mention but a few.

Now have free Wi-Fi service with good internet speed, also have E-Library with computers ready for public use. Free computer class for secondary school student every Saturday and Sunday morning.

I haven't really explored as I would like to, but I'll definitely go back!!! The environment carries an aura of intellectualism and if you're a lover of books this is home!!!!

The place is also training center for professional courses like ICAN and lot more, aside been a library. The place is actually dope to be honest

I like the fact it's accessible even on weekends. But the restroom facilities was not accessible most times.
