"Was a favourite museum of the kid in Lux"
"I love Museums, so take it with a grain o salt"
"Interesting exposition about the history of the tram in Luxemburg, with nice staff and best of all free entry"
"Definitely recommend visiting the Tram Museum"
Was a favourite museum of the kid in Lux. But when we came there last time, there was an awful female employee which first said to our kids that this is not a playground and they should take this into account. I do not know how this should be understood, but 4 previous times it was allowed to move the steering wheel and use beep. If this was never allowed, then most helpful it would be to indicate at the entrance what can be done and what is expressly forbidden. If "driving" a tram is not allowed, then 50% of kid's joy is gone away. Specifically to mention: when we tried to eat an apple in the main hall, but aside of trams, this women immediately came and started to literally shout "Out! Go out! No picnic here". We felt insulted and left. Even though we were not completely right, it could have been told politely and we would not hesitate to put the apples back to the bag. The kid started to cry upon departure - ! I came back to say this to the woman when suddenly she forgot all her English (though initially she herself at the entrance asked which language to speak to us and was talking in English). She even said that as we are in Luxembourg she will now only speak French or Luxemburgish (no, really?!). And as I was explaining how she hurt my kid, she was trying to overshout me. First time I see such an unpolite person in Luxembourg. Such people should not work with people and especially with kids. People are a little bit more fragile than trams (which she is seemingly used to interact with)
I love Museums, so take it with a grain o salt. Also i am a foreigner, so if you are a Luxermborgoise, my background and POV is too different of someone that deal with its public infrastructure daily. This museum is not too welcoming for people that are completely unaware to the local languages, so if you do not have a grasp on them, maybe just go to see nice things and old pictures. I also do not have a lot of knowledge on Luxembourg language, but I do know some Flemish and French, so I can read and infer some of the letters and context of photos (and I read a lot of History/geschidenis) This museum is more a collective memory on how the public transport system developed in Luxembourg. If you are a tram, bus or public transport enthusiast this is a wonderful place. If you are a kid or someone that likes the early 1900 aesthetics this is an inspirational site. If you are a mechanical engineering egghead, it is also a wonderful place to visit and see some motors and tools of old. But if you are interested in castles and other topics of Luxembourg, maybe this is not your cup of tea... Anyway great free museum to stop by.
Interesting exposition about the history of the tram in Luxemburg, with nice staff and best of all free entry. Unfortunately the area with the preserved vehicles is way too crammed, which makes it difficult to take a look at them and take good photos. Also it is only possible to enter some old trams, but none of the stored buses. The exposition itself is a large collection of old items, pictures, documents and models, displayed in a chronological order, however with almost no explanations. This (understandably) doesn't seem to attract too much visitors. If the whole concept of this museum was improved I think it could become a real attraction, but it still seems to be stuck in the past times when Luxembourg didn't really care about its public transportation. In this state the museum is only recommended for transportation enthusiasts who want to learn about the history of Luxembourg's trams.
Definitely recommend visiting the Tram Museum. The museum has a collection of photographs, as well as a huge number of exhibits relating to different years of the development of the engineering industry. Various types of tram driver uniforms, all kinds of automatic machines, models of transport, and accessories are presented in the museum. But the most exciting part is the old trams, where you can sit, touch everything and even ring the bell to stop. It is a rarity when a museum allows you to see everything so closely. Special thanks to the lady museum curator for tips and information.

I took my toddler there on a Saturday. It was very quiet, which is great for the little one to explore on his own. If you are a big fan of old trams, or if your little one is fascinated by trams/trains, then this is a place for you. It is not a huge museum, so it won’t take you very long. This museum does remind me of the National Railway Museum in York, UK. Really chuffed to see these one machines are well kept.

I like trams, so biased. Text is only in Luxembourgish so with out a local to translate you will miss a lot of explanation. But nicely presented photographs and models an nicely presented pair of tram motor cars and trailer cars. One motor was being repainted at. Our visit. Would like to have seen them operating on the 50m of track they have in front of the custom built depot/museum.

That's one of the most favorite museums of our 4 y.o. son, there were times when we visited it 2-3 times a month Unfortunately, at the moment the tramways are closed and you can't climb inside (the sign says that it's due to impolite use without any delicacy for the exposition), but I hope they will be opened again one day, since they contribute a lot to museum interactivity ❤️

Very friendly staff. Entry is free. Amazing miniature replicas with great details. Lots to discover, would be great for kids. Very detailed and historical accurate descriptions with a lot of visuals. Takes approximately 1h45 minutes to take it all in. We took great pictures inside the bigger replicas. Would visit again.

Interesting full history of Luxembourg trams and buses actually. - free to enter - lots of parking next to it - can enter some real trams but unfortunately not the buses - very nice models of trams and buses - good self guided tour layout based on the years - nothing else around/walking distance so this one is a must with a car

Unfortunately all of the vehicles are closed for visit, due to "disrespectful handling of the vehicles" by previous guests. I wonder if they couldn't have found a better solution (eg security cameras). Was hoping for it to be a fascinating visit for my daughter and left quite disappointed.

Perfect place to understand the history of Luxembourg public transportation. Entry is completely free. This place is not much famous and when we visited, there were only few visitors. It also contains train and bus coaches from old time and you can seat inside them for a while to have the feeling. you can also view tickets from different time. Very interesting place for 2-3 hours.
Lovely museum just half a kilometre from a intercity bus stop. Got a glimpse of how the transportation changed in recent history. Entry ticket is free as well. So in all a nice place to go for tourists who have interest in history or crafts or even those who want to have few nice photographs and want to save some money.

Beautiful place with lots of history. Was nice to be able to climb aboard some of the trams and buses and sit down even behind the wheel. Free entry was nice, staff very nice and welcoming and patient with my bad french. Worth a visit and see how public transport has changed over the last 100+ years.
Absolut empfehlenswert!
Really nice and well taken care of museum. It’s small enough to see it all in an hour and the kids will love it. Entrance is free, you just need ti give a donation in the end which is not obligatory.

Nice museum about the history of trams and buses in Luxembourg. It’s free, not too big, has plenty of old photographs, pieces of machinery, models of the different vehicles and more. The most exciting part is the vehicles that you can …

Small, but our 2.5 year old kids really liked that they were allowed to step on the trams and pretend to be the driver... Entrance is free.

I’ve been there twice. It’s not a big museum but really interesting. There’re the trams and buses of the last centuries and you can come inside them and touch everything and make the funny photos.
Nice museum that show the history of transport across Luxembourg city. It is a great place to go with your kids as they can enter all the trams and buses. The fun is guaranteed. Don't miss it.
An amazing exposition of Luxembourg's trams and transportation. One can get inside most of the carriages and feel oneself either a passenger or a tram driver! Definitely worth visiting.
Heel leuk museum!
Very nice museum. It's very detailled and shows the history of busses and the tram in Luxembourg. They have a lot of 1:8 models and also real trains you can go into.
Very interesting museum, where kids can enter into old trams and buses. The museum is not very big. The parking on site is available. It is opened during weekends.
Great little museum for those interested in all things transportation. Beautifully curated, and the tour guide is very nice and knowledgeable.... great with kids.
Rudest person we have ever faced to date- she basically shouted at the kids (toddlers) for 2 mins non stop for just opening a window. Best to stay away!!
Beautiful museum, very thoughtfully made, great models and - most importantly: loads of fun for kids, who are allowed to enter and touch the exhibits.
A real trip to the past. Wagons are in excellent shape. Lots of old pictures and tools. The best part is that you can go inside the old carriages!
