Hired these guys to do an oil change, tune up, serpentine belt and water pump. The initial mechanic showed up two hours late for a seven hour job. He also had a small child with him the entire time he worked on my car, which I thought was odd. They say on the website that you won’t be charged until the job is done but that’s not true. Your card is charged as soon as the mechanic arrives on site. The mechanic by the name of Jasmaine caused my vehicle to leak engine coolant in which it never did that prior. I contact customer support to tell them about this and the warranty team tells me I need to take my vehicle elsewhere cuz the water pump wasn’t the issue. I make them send another mechanic out for the warranty claim and that mechanic by the name of Ben told me specifically that the previous mechanic didn’t do the installation correctly and assured me that my money would be refunded. By the way they charged $517 in labor for a warranty call that the previous mechanic messed up. The new mechanic Ben fixed the repair and got me back running and assured that I wouldn’t be charged for the labor. I then contact the warranty department about my funds and they tell me I’m responsible because the mechanic Ben did extra work that I NEVER AGREED to! All in all this place is a joke. If you do book with them watch the mechanic closely at all times and don’t trust the warranty department. There’s no way to contact the mechanic afterwards either but I’m still fighting to get my money refunded

Got ripped off at MyMechanic. Brought my Jeep Wrangler there for two issues, 1. suspension shaking too much when hitting a bump, and 2. engine light on (emissions). Note that another mechanic previously told me that catalytic converter needed to be replaced. They looked at it and said that needed to replace steering damper shock to resolve shaking $300, need to replace "deflector" to fix the engine light - another $450. Oh, and they found a leak in the water pump - yet another $400. Note that I never saw antifreeze leaking, but I am a trusting type of person so I said Ok. After I got the jeep back, the engine light was off, but Jeep continued shaking. I drove it for about 200 miles and the engine light went back on, basically when the computer automatically reset. I brought it back to MyMechanic. The story now is that shaking is because couple of bolts on the suspension needed to be tightened. So why replace the steering damper shock in the first place? For engine light, the story now is that catalytic converter needs to be replaced $1300-1400. I asked why did they replace the deflector? Answer was that the error code before was different. What are the chances of two separate issues with emissions within 200 miles? I am now thinking that I was ripped off for the whole job, even the water pump since I never saw any spots under my car before. Never going back there again. Take your money somewhere else.

1 star isn't even close to accurate, but it's the lowest choice. I dropped my Lexus off 2 weeks ago. I made it clear multiple times that it was time sensitive because my lease is ending. I was assured of a timely fix. All body work, nothing wrong with the motor or anything. A few days later, I get a call that it's finished. I pay the deductible and when I get the car back it's only half finished. I point this out and they assure me (it's Friday) that it will be fixed by Monday. I Get no call on Monday, so I called on Tuesday. They say it can be picked up Thursday. They call me Thursday and I go get it. The manager says that he has personally looked at every fix with his own eyes. I take it home. and find that the under side bumper is still completely scratched up and hasn't been touched.So he lied right to my face. So I take it back and he makes an excuse that he has a bad back and can't get that low. So why tell me you looked at it then? So it has been 2 weeks and my lease is due back today at 5pm. I was told that it would finally be finished today at 12. I just got a call and was told it might be ready by 3. I'm not holding my breath. I have called the regional manager and left multiple messages over the last few days and have yet to get a return call. NEVER use this shop. Seriously. They could care less once they get your car in their hands.

I have never written a review before - but i think my experience today warrants one. The punchline - I had a great outcome/experience w My Mechanic. I dropped off my car for service w My Mechanic this morning. They looked at things, identified the problem, noted that the issue looked like it had been worked on by someone else & suggested that I go back to that mechanic and see whether it was under their warranty. This was incredibly honest - because i would NOT have known better - today's symptom's were different v the issue i had repaired (but obviously related). They could have easily done the work - and charged me. Thank you to Peter & the staff at My Mechanic!! They were correct - it was under warranty - and the other mechanic is taking care of things. Thank you! And the final kicker is that My Mechanic did NOT even charge me for the consultation. If you are like me, i am quickly out of my league when it comes to mechanical issues. I need to rely on the people i bring the car to. To me this is great evidence that you can come to My Mechanic and get great help and very HONEST service - I think that is what any of us would hope for. Thank you again!

People what you don't know will cost you big time. Be educated and knowledgable consumer. When they quote you something that need to be fix always check around and don't take their words for it. Try to fix an oil leak and replace some gasket and they quote me $2400 that is more than dealer stealer charge me. The parts only cost about 50 bucks max. I got pissed off and do it myself in less than 2 hours. YouTube and Google had so much wealth of information for you to be able to DIY. We work hard for our money whether physical or not. Don't let them rip you off especially mechanics. Few are honest and trustworthy. I learn my lesson long time ago. This is last time I will deal with them. Read GARY G review below. It is the same story here. Sorry to hear your bad experience. Remember people, your car are your legs, learn about it and it's problem and try to fix it if you can. It will help you in the long run. It is not rocket science.

I’m a lifelong Houstonian. I can’t tell you how many mechanics I’ve visited over the years. This one is by far the best, most honest, and transparent shop I’ve ever been to. I took it in for a valve cover gasket leak and they took care of it no problem. But listen to this. I had taken my car to NTB previously to repair my A/C and they quoted me some ridiculous price to repair it. When I took it to My Mechanic they told me it would be $39 to diagnose the A/C unit so I went ahead and did it. Once they got in there they saw that the only thing that was wrong with my A/C was that someone had unplug my A/C fan. They plugged it back in and I was ready to go! They could have charged me money for a repair I didn’t need, but they did the right thing. I highly recommend this place for their fair prices and transparency. Those are hard qualities to find in a mechanic shop.

These guys were just the best. I was so lucky and happy to find them. I was staying in the med center for my husband’s giant tumor surgery. The night before his surgery the car wouldn’t start. But it had been at the dealer for 3 whole days the previous week, for maintenance and minor repairs- so we were very surprised. I said “I’ll deal with this later.” So the morning after his surgery, I called this mechanic, and they were so helpful and confident that they would be able to fix it. The very helpful employees at the Hilton med center helped me jump it so I could get it over. It turned out to be a bad battery, which they very quickly replaced. They were also just so nice and helpful overall. If anyone ever has car trouble anywhere near the med center, I *highly* recommend this crew.

I was visiting my Daughter last weekend. She told me that she thought there was something wrong with her brakes. I looked for a repair shop nearby and found My Mechanic online. I showed up Saturday morning, without an appointment and Macon listened to my issue and said they would take a look at the car. After about 30 minutes, Macon showed me the issues and recommendations. The brakes were fine, but the car had a blown strut. He provided recommendations, but no pressure. My Mechanic made the repairs and even provided me transportation back to where I was staying. Macon and his team were professional and I appreciated the fact they took the time to inspect and fix my Daughter's vehicle. The cost was what I expected to fix a strut, do an alignment, etc.

I have had nothing but good experiences with My Mechanic. They were up front on exactly what was wrong with my car, and being an engineer, I absorbed what they were saying as truth. The person who had problems with the jeep, all I can say is my sister has a jeep and it has been a pain since the day she bought it (no take that back...the tried to do a bait and switch on her) and since then, her jeep has been a hanger queen costing her more money than she really afford on her salary. I tried to tell her..."YOU ARE GETTING OLD AND NEED A TOYOTA", not some beach bunny, buzz the shoreline vehicle like I had when I was 29. My mechanic rates #1 with me. Their mechanics keep their head in their work. Reminded me of Air Mobility Command.

Went to these guys on three separate occasions and got an honest evaluation of the state of my car every time. Didn't cost me a dime for the evals or the advice. I ended up going to them when I needed a pre-buy (well, in my case, post-buy) inspection and had some work done afterward. They let me know what repairs actually needed to be done vs. those that "could" be done and their prices were reasonable. They have earned my business with their honesty and their friendliness. I recommended them to a colleague and he was very impressed with the guys there too. It's an absolutely great shop.

0 stars!!! Took my vehicle to "My Mechanic @ Kirby" For what I thought was a clutch repair turns out my radiator was leaking and caused my clutch to disengage for safety reasons. They stated they need to repair the radiator all things associated with it and my clutch and my bill was to be $4000 yes you read that right for $4000!!! So I decided I needed a second opinion the 2nd mechanic told me nothing wrong with my clutch and only to repair the radiator for $600. I've never left a review before I thought it necessary in this situation I will never return to "My Mechanic."

Left my car late at night for it to be worked on early morning, thanks to the feature of securely dropping your key (envelopes provided at external door) through their mail slot. Prompt and honest service. Spoke with the team member, who explained what the issue was (bad positive terminal connector), what it would cost and the labor involved with it. When I went in to pick up the car, they provided additional details on what the job entailed and helped answer other questions I had about my car. Exceptional service with a warm welcoming attitude from all staff members.

Initially had to take my accord in for a power steering leak. The issue was diagnosed and promptly fixed. Very reasonable pricing and most importantly honest work. I ended up taking my car in again a week later for an unfortunate electrical issue caused by hitting a huge pothole turning on to Montrose. They were able to diagnose and repair everything with little notice the same day. Amazing service and knowledgeable staff. My cruise control now also works for the first time since owning this car (had it since 2014) which is just an added bonus.

Very much the kind of shop that will try to sell you unnecessary repairs. Also surprisingly expensive. I had a radiator hose blow on me while I was driving downtown and this shop just happened to be close. After refilling the system with coolant ($30) and running a diagnostic ($40), they found that a blown radiator hose was the problem (Shocker!) They then wanted over $100 to replace a simple heater hose, but also recommended I replace another hose and the thermostat. Take some more time, do some more homework, and find a more reasonable shop.

I was visiting Houston from out of state and my air conditioning decided to start having problems just before my return trip. I stopped by without an appointment and they were able to fit me in, diagnose a leak and get me back up and running with cold AC in a short period of time. I came here because of their great online reviews and I don’t regret it. You can tell an honest auto repair shop like this when you find them and can certainly smell the rip off shops a mile away. I would not hesitate to come here again when in Houston.

I highly recommend My Mechanic for cars of all ages and brands. Peter and Ryan will explain any auto issue in as much depth as you require. They have been servicing my cars( foreign and domestic ) for almost 10 years, and I have never been disappointed. All costs are explained before work is done, and the prices are reasonable. If something wasn't repaired to my satisfaction, it was addressed on a subsequent visit at no extra charge. I can even call them with auto questions and they are happy to offer free advice.

I would not recommend the shop. Warning do not go here they charged me $100 diagnostic fee and told me there was nothing wrong with my car as a matter of fact I exactly told them what was wrong with my car and it was locking up and said it's hundred percent fine so basically they just took my $100 and then I came back again told him the same thing and that he keeps denying that there's nothing wrong with the car this place just rips your money and takes your money away from you do not go here be warned.

The service and repairs were great however they convinced me to sign up over “the phone” for approval w Easy Pay Finance. You HAVE to pay it off in 3 months or the day after it expires that company charges interest for every day on the Original Ammount at 118% interest. I had $81 owed and the TAB Bank made me pay $214.62 to close the account. Midas never told me and I was sent no paper contract. The Asian girl on the phone said I had to go online or it was an email which I never saw.

The guys who work here are hilarious to talk with while they're working on your car, plus they are super helpful and don't charge as much as other guys at other shops around town. They're extremely knowledgeable about all sorts of cars, and they work like The Flash. I went in to have the front bumper on my car replaced, they said it'd be about a week, and it was done in 3 days! Brought the same car in for a tire change, they said it'd be an hour, it was done in 45 minutes!

We have been customers at My Mechanic for a year now, and they have been honest, quick with repairs and work, and very accommodating with scheduling and pickups. Their work is reliable, their prices are fair, and the workers have been very friendly. It's tough to find a mechanic shop that you feel confident has integrity, does a good job with communication, and is efficient and competent with the work but My Mechanic fits all those descriptions. Highly recommend!

I love this place! Usually when a mechanic sees a woman coming they automatically run up their prices. I've never had that problem at My Mechanic @ Kirby. Plus it helps that my dad & others have taught me a lot about cars. I've always been walked through what was going on with my car while in their care. They make sure I understand what the problem is, what it takes to fix it, and I never feel pressured to get the work done right then and there.

Took my car here for some body work after a fender bender. I told them what I wanted done and they did just that. Super friendly. Great customer service. Took care of my repairs in 2 days and for cheaper than I was expecting. They did not try to make me fix other things on my car. The most they told me was my check engine light was on and they could look at that if I decided to bring my car back in the future. Would definitely come back again.

I would not go there again after they tried to tell me that there could possibly be two different parts that were bad and would replace one then see if the other needed replacement as well when the only problem was to remove a secondary alarm system that was put on by the car dealership I bought the car from! They already got more money out of me the first time I went to get work done, I will not go back there again!

This is the only mechanic I trust. The guys here get things done and are honest about what you need and what they do. If you ever have a problem after a visit (which coincidentally happens sometimes) I'd say you can probably ask who worked on it last and maybe get another mech to check it out; because I don't think they'll have a problem double checking their work. At least they haven't had a problem for me.

A friendly and honest car shop in the neighborhood. My husband hit a curb and the left-site sensor was missing/ misplaced. It made annoying warning noise whenever it was in parking situation. I brought my car in here not knowing what to expect. The technicians opened the bumper, found the misplaced sensor and fixed for me! They charged a reasonable rate. I am happy with their service. Very honest, told me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, and that the most expensive part to replace was not necessary, as it was still in serviceable condition. Very reasonably priced, and I was thrilled with getting my car in and out during the appointment I'd scheduled. Terrible place, save your money. I took my Mercedes they replaced the battery and they test drove it they cracked my windshield and the manager Mecum Phillips would not own up to it. So a simple repair ended up costing several hundred more to have my windshield replaced somewhere else. Again this establishment is a Terrible place to go. Save your money!

Great place. My wife was in town from the Ft. Worth area, and having vehicle issues on her way home. They squeezed her in, even stayed after hours until the repair was completed. No after hours charge, and a very fair bill. They even offered to buy her some dinner while she waited. I never seen a mechanic's garage go out of their way like this.

Fantastic experience. The mechanic spent 30 minutes on the phone giving me a second opinion about an engine problem that another shop had diagnosed. My first time. I'd say my new mechanics. I've been a loyalist to an area repair shop who for years was great. The new owner, their expansion and poor service led me to find a new firm.
