After I moved from Toronto to Calgary, I wanted to bank with someone who can understand the needs of a new comer and provide the apt solution. It has been 2 years with NBC, and no regrets yet. Pros: - 1 to 1 attention for your needs – 70% of my banking needs I deal with NBC today. - Flexible in communication – Text, Phone, Email and Face to Face. They accommodated all these modes of communication even during COVID outbreak. - One of the best online banking solution in Canada – I could see almost all my financial details (other banks) including Debits/Credits/Workplace investments which is really helpful. I would say that NBC is one step ahead than others in this game. Cons: - No Master Debit Card - No Global Money Transfer option - 3 days to process CC payments from NBC Checking to NBC CC (top banks provide 24 hours payment services for the home bank CC) - Long wait to talk to Customer Service My special thanks to Lila & Nazia who have always assisted me with a big smile. Big thanks and congratulations to the wonderful team in this branch! Overall I see great value banking with NBC. This is my experience with NBC so far!
I would give this bank 0 stars if I could. Horrible hours, horrible customer service. I paid off my car loan and they took an extra payment. I came in two weeks after the fact to ask for my payment back. Sat in the waiting area for 1.5 hours waiting for an answer. Was told that a cheque would be ready for me to come pick up two weeks later because they won’t mail it to me. I called today to make sure it was there and it’s not. I will NEVER bank with this institution again. *UPDATE* I never ever heard from the branch manager as promised by the “owner”. I have not heard back from the person I talked to on the phone that promised to get to the bottom of this. Lesson learned.
2 months ago we purchased a vehicle from a dealer, it is financed with National Bank, today I went in to pay an amount of it off, they informed me after Oct 13, 2023 they no longer accept cash. Say what?? A bank that isn't accepting cash, well isn't that the Liberal way huh? To make me feel even worse it takes 24 hours for your balance to update, (how convenient), also you cannot e-tranfer a payment to you loan, get this, you email the teller, you tell her how much you want to pay, and they do it for you. LOL, that ain't happening, I am currently working on paying this loan off immediately, stay away from this very unprofessional bank.

I want to give zero star as I am highly disappointed with banking strategies of this branch to make new customers. I was scammed. I was impressed by engineering students and graduate program services and line of credit at low interest rate they are offering. I went to branch to open an account so I can have line of credit. After opening and setting up credit card I waited 3 weeks to apply for line of credit. I got a call saying I can not apply for line of credit due to some reasons and now I am stuck with credit card which has yearly fees.
I have been a National Bank client for many decades but over the years I have considered moving to a different financial institution because of shortcoming from the head office and ridiculous new policies. Yet when I have issues or questions the branch staff is always willing and able to assist as well as bring resolution. Today was another one of those moment, I meet with Priyanka Sharma at the branch and could not be more pleased. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable what else can I say but thank you , Priyanka
This branch should not be under name of National Bank !! Is not SAFE for transaction , unprofessional and very poor customer service . Desk assistants are changed here like at airport terminal. It was my bank for more than 15 years and help me during this years, most of them in Montreal, but this branch and the manager of this branch is really something. You must be lucky to get some help, advise from someone in this bank. How is possible National Bank allow this guys to damage his reputation ?
NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES, UNPROFESSIONALS. It’s very difficult to call this place a bank, it’s a real circus. the staff does not understand what they are doing and why, the manager generally does not care what is happening around, and when she sees that there is a conflict, she is trying to tell incoherent nonsense. The fact that a normal bank will do everything to help you and do not even ask, then this bank, on the contrary, will do everything to keep your money as long as possible on hold.
If I could rate 0 stars I would. I have a mortgage with National Bank (this location) and any time I try to call there is never anyone at the reception desk (tried calling six times over 2 hours and only ever got voicemail). Since I don't have a regular account with them it's like we don't even exist (no documents are provided without request, etc). I will not be a repeat customer! All I want is my mortgage documents so I can go elsewhere.
This bank steal your money , you have a plan with them , but they do what they want with your account . The branch manager take care only about she's pocket . You are not customer here. So many mistake for a bank , it's like a freelancer. For sure you can find better bank . All those positive reviews are more fake than real. You use a bank to have a professional service , to be safe . Non of this you find here.
Recently arrived from France, I really enjoyed my exchanges with this branch of the National Bank of Canada and especially with Mrs Neelam Naz. This advisor allowed me to solve an international transfer problem very quickly in a hurry. She is very efficient, knows her work perfectly and also takes the time to explain despite my lack of vocabulary in English. I highly recommend going to see them.
This has to be the worst bank in Canada. Time and time again we receive poor customer service, constant miscommunication and low-functioning technology. Apparently someone tried to access our account 3 months ago so they put on a hold and told the person that they needed to go into the branch to reactivate the account. Yet, this information was never communicated with us, the account owners.
National bank charged me over $200 to recieve a transfer, they charged 50$/month + they are chagrining interest on funds they hold for me. Every bank pays the customer interest, this one just steals your money. None of these fees were disclosed on their website or during account creation. In total I'm being charged almost $120/month.
This bank has very poor customer service if your a parent I advise you to not use this bank just got kicked out due to having small children who were getting restless from being there for over an hour and the bank manager kicks me out what great service.
I’ve always had a great experience here! Employees are courteous and friendly! Easy to cultivate a relationship with and I usually end up seeing the same three people! Great staff, I wouldn’t put too much merit into a few disgruntled customers!
SCAM, DO NOT GO THERE. their "packages" are only valid for 1 day, in our case they charged 3$ per transaction. This happened after waiting in line for 3 hours just to get very poor customer service
Like other reviews for this location, if a zero could be given, it would be. Staff and Management are rude and provide less than satisfactory solutions to their own errors. Would NOT recommend.
Although head office is Quebec, everything is also in English. Currently mostly a commercial bank, hardly ever a line up, and they'll do everything (credit cards to mortgages).
Great customer service. I spoke with several employees and they were all very professional and willing to help.
