Nehru Center, One of the most prized gifts you can give your kids is fun-filled memories. And while in Mumbai, this isn’t a tough task at all. Listed below are some of the places to visit in Mumbai with kids, where they can create virtual souvenirs to cherish a lifetime. Built in the memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, this center propagates his teachings and ideas through educational and cultural programs. It consists of a spectacular dome-shaped planetarium that creates curiosity about astronomy and science in young kids. You can stargaze with your little ones at the sky theater for a memorable time. Make your kids stand at the cubicle that calculates their weight in each of the nine planets of the solar system. Other attractions here, such as the miniature galaxy with Sun at the center, Moon’s surface, a view of Earth from the Moon, art gallery, library, etc. will surely get your kids charged up with energy and intuitiveness. Location: Dr. Annie Besant Rd, Lotus Colony, Worli Timings: 11:00 am to 05:00 pm; closed on Mondays Entry Fee: ₹100 per person (4 years and above)
The Nehru Art Gallery in Mumbai is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts. The gallery is well-maintained and showcases an extensive collection of Indian contemporary art. The works on display are diverse, ranging from paintings, sculptures, installations, and more. The exhibition space is also spacious and well-lit, making it easy to appreciate the artwork. The gallery staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to provide information about the artists and their works. The gallery also hosts regular events and exhibitions, adding to the experience of visitors. Another plus point is the affordable admission fee, making it accessible to a wider audience. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have more interactive displays or multimedia installations to engage visitors further. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Nehru Art Gallery to anyone interested in exploring contemporary Indian art.
Very beautiful, calm and descent place near Nehru Planetarium worli. 2 minutes walkable distance from Nehru Planetarium. Loved it. Very knowledgeable place. Structure of Nehru centre is like Pineapple Inside you will see beautiful painting exhibition. in ground floor one big ship is there which has historical story, paintings and a small cafe to eat. On 1 st floor they have shared so many religious and historical information with painting, statues. Amazing work by them You will never regret to come here. Wonderful experience. Mostly loved the stone age information which provided with statues.

Today, I attended Mumbai Art Fair 2022 at Nehru Centre Art Gallery. The art displayed here was quite distinctive and had different type of painting methods and approach towards the idea about the scenario in painting/art. There was one painting for me it was so mesmerising that i stood there and lost in it.(moon : twilight) Overall, It was really a nice experience to see the paintings in person and to have chat with the artist and get there insight and thought process they had during there work. I think, whenever in future these kind of exhibitions happens you should visit the place.
A well known art gallery in Mumbai. The Nehru Centre Art Gallery promotes the works of both the established as well as the up and coming artists. The Gallery promotes many art forms which include paintings, sculptures, graphics, calligraphy, ceramics, textile-paintings and photography. The gallery has 2 available spaces. One is the air-conditioned 2300 sq. Ft area and the other a circular gallery with 125 running feet for displaying paintings, both of which are located on the ground floor of the Discovery of India Building of Nehru Centre.
#LocalGuides #LetsGuide Nehru Centre Art gallery is my favourite place in Nehru Centre. It is always booked with some art and cultural exhibition. I visit this set gallery on 19 May. There was an art exhibition going on, Four Artist had showcased their artwork under one roof. Art Gallery is Photography prohibited area. So, we could not take the photo of each artwork, but I talked to them and managed to click some pictures. Artist's name: Paran Banti Devi, Koyal Maji, Raj Maji, Jagdiah Mohanty. All the artworks were so amazing.
I was not able to visit the science center thou. My review will be incomplete. The museum in round buidling is good. On 1st floor there is a history exhibition which drives you through history from Ape man to Maurya's, Buddhism, Entry of mughals, Britishers, India's Freedom Fight. It also capturea cultural history. There is a option to hear the full history using Audio device English and Hindi (not sure if Marathi is available). It will cost you Rs. 100 per person. I shall come back and rate full once i visit Science center.

Incredible one. Why Nehru is one of the greatest Indian Politician, thinker is we know when visit this art gallery. The entire life of Nehru and what the great leader of his time said about Nehru is very well preserve here. The history from Harappan Civilization to the modern world very well arranged through an exhibition is one of the best part of this center. One must visit here with children and show them our great legacy. We all enjoyed a lot here by knowing the chronology of our nation.? A
The Nehru Art Gallery caters to enthusiasts of both art and history. It boasts an extensive collection of paintings by renowned Indian artists, complemented by a comprehensive representation of India's history, spanning from ancient times to its journey to independence. While photography with your phone is permitted, camera usage is restricted within the premises. The gallery is brimming with enlightening artworks and captivating visuals, offering a blend of information and aesthetic beauty.
It is a very much interesting place.. I live just behind nehru center and opposite of nehru planetarium... There are so many historical sculpture and arts of ancient times and very huge library too... Lots of events are carried out here like, Exhibition of paintings and historical show and mushaira programs etc. There is a very huge auditorium down where many events are carried out ... Events like weddings and farewells are also carried here.. I am proud of being staying here....
Visited here for the India Art Festival exhibition. Had a great time watching so many artworks from several crazy artists. The second floor has some amazing historical installations. The architecture of the place is fascinating but the food was not so good. Connectivity by roads is good except when you leave the cabs reject you left and right. So you can either catch a bus from either of the streets or get your own vehicle. Parking is available. Fun place to visit on weekends.
The ambience is perfect for an avid artist or art connoisseur to look at the paintings minutely & dive into a deep thought process in quest of artist's imagination. Environ is serene & safe. Internal & outside security personnel were found cooperative & alert everytime. It's my privilege always to join my friends who are mind-blowing painters by profession & organise such exhibitions in different states.
A very nice, air-conditioned meeting place for ameture and professionals. There are painting exhibitions, engineering, fine-art, handicraft and various other exhibitions. Next to the exhibition arcade there was a fine-dine restaurant; Jewel of India but it's no more there. Nehru Planetarium is in the next building. On the internal road there are lots of street food vendors.
It's the most amazing place to visit for anyone who loves art, books, history and culture. They have a digital library too which is amazing. Don't forget to visit the Discovery of India section which has an enriching history of India. They usually have art expos and exhibitions at the Nehru Centre building just next to the Nehru Planetarium.
A visual tour of chapter of our school history textbooks from 3rd to 12th standard. Absolutely mesmerizing. Worth a visit with your family, atleast every year to imbibe the whole heritages. I was roaming around each section more than once, but still it wasn't enough to read the whole writing. That much of things they have assorted there.
This is an iconic building in Mumbai's Skyline. Located right next to the Nehru Planetarium, this place has a museum as well as an exhibition centre. There is a auditorium as well where musical events and stage plays take place. Parking is not an issue here. One should visit this place atleast once in their lifetime.
Great detailed information about Indian History from stone age to struggles for freedom. If you love India and want to know about its history you should definitely visit this place. also due to COVID restrictions it's open to public only on Saturday and Sundays. Timing 11am to 5pm

Lovely place for those who are interested in to know about our history, cultural life, from no where India to India after 1947 One can visit from morning till ev evening. N eat and clean place...
I learned much of India’s rich history. The displays were very informative, starting from the beginning of known human history and extending to the present. The perfect place to seek knowledge.
Am writing about the main gallery. It is very spacious & well lit, for the paintings. Watching art here is an enjoyable experience. BTW, there is enough parking available for the visitors.
Good place to host Arts for sale. Wish they come up with some system to pay by cards. Parking i thought was adequate but this year went on a Sunday and struggled to get parking slot.
Art gallery, Discovery of India museum, Nehru planetarium, and Atria mall... All are within walking distance of each other. Good place for a day out especially for school going kids.
It's beautiful place. Visited an art exhibition. Very impressive collection of art and the gallery provides conducive atmosphere for the artists to show case their creative talent.
We did not got the show ticket since there was a huge queue for that better to book in advance before you visit. The museum is open for everyone it just talks about our history
This is an amazing art gallery. When I went it was exhibiting the artworks by kids and they were splendid! Upstairs also has a museum dedicated to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru ji.
Always love the place for cleanliness, maintenance and discipline by staff and visitors. Many art exhibitions now take place where we get to see work of upcoming artists.
Last Visit was on account of the annual exhibition "Giftex". Re. Nehru Centre Art Gallery, various pieces of Art in subjects in the past & next door "The Sky in my Eye".
I was there for India Art Festival 2023. I really liked the way multiple spaces within the building allow different exhibitions and sis plays at the same time.
If you love watching art then this place is for you. Photos and videos are not allowed inside the gallery. But you will enjoy watching and discussing the art✨
They should work on sitting arrangement....it's very old and they charge you for the show so they should definitely work on maintaining the studio.
The museum is good as well as the cafeteria at the ground floor. There should be access to the outer garden as well maybe with a small entry fee.
It is one of the visiting site in mumbai. I think school students will not be bored this area. And only problem in this area is cafeteria issue
