The Museum Picture Gallery Index shows the museum and its grounds, together with images of some of the ceremonial and social events we hold there each year. The Exercises and Operations page recalls the work our sailors do, both in training and on the front line. Shore Bases are essential to the navy. Even America's nuclear-powered aircraft carriers have to dock sometime. The Submarine Service is one of the oldest and most important components of our navy. The Fleet Air Arm officially started in 1947, but our navy was in the air as early as 1918. The Aircraft Carrier Index lists all of the ships, big and small, that come equipped with an aircraft as part of their kit. Australia's navy deployed Cruisers before warships were armed with missiles, so this index looks back at some of our original, and most powerful capital ships.
A hidden gem!!! Nepean Naval Museum is one of the most wonderful museums I have ever visited. Small yet full of pieces of history. Free entry with an optional gold coin to assist the operation of the museum. Staff are truly friendly and will accompany visitors through the museum to provide amazing details. It’s currently open to public only on Sundays. Free car park available. Highly recommended!!!

Friendly staff at this neat little museum. It won’t take you long to see all they have, but it’s still very enjoyable to walk around, see what they have, and read the information they have posted. It doesn’t cost anything to visit, but donate a couple dollars if you can. Sadly they’re only open for 4 hours on Sunday currently as they could use more volunteers and funding.
