It was my first time eating from this place. Ordered chicken shawarma and potatoes combo for take-out, it was 11:05 am, I was probably one of the first customer of the day. Edges of toppings were dry, the hummus sitting in the large rectangular bucket had a thin crust on top that was telling me it has been sitting there for a long time (taste of hummus was super bland), the garlic spicy sauce was a fatty jiggly blob with a reddish colour, could not eat it, my stomach cannot tolerate this thing... My chicken had pink parts, meaning it was not fully cooked. Potatoes were dry and also tasteless. I am very sorry to say this was the worst shawarma experience I have ever had, and believe me, I tried many places in Gatineau and Ottawa. I don't understand how this has over 4 stars, it doesn't make sense. Only positive note, the man and woman were very polite and friendly. AVOID AT ALL COST!! -- Some comments must be rigged because my stomach feels very bad, terrible acid reflux, feeling like throwing up...

I did a big delivery order from New King Shawarma for myself and co-workers last night and all I have to say is that it was one of the best experience with a restaurant I’ve had! I forgot to ask them their names but everyone there was amazing! Ordering 10 different orders for delivery does not always go well, but at New Shawarma King they made it to be so simple and efficient! We got our order delivered within the half hour, all orders came separately packages with names on them and to finish it off they kindly put them all in a box for me! May I also add that every order was correct (which is sometimes hard to get these days I find... you end up missing an item or two). All my co-workers were very happy and everything was so delicious, the shawarma’s, garlic potatoes, etc ! We will most definitely be ordering from here again and look forward to it !!! Normally I get served by these two young men and their customer service is extremely good and they give you your money's worth, especially when you are paying more than average at this place. But when I bought today for a friend, it was very disappointing, it was his first time trying and he said he would not go there again, and I could tell the good was not up to the quality I had previously. Maybe it was because there was a lady (maybe the mother) this time, the original men who usually make the food were not there, and this lady barely filled the tray, very frugal--the food was not good, it tasted OLD and dry. It was embarrassing because I told my friend this is a good shawarma place and I let him down by taking him to this place. Please give a proper portion to the customers--to pay 19$ and have a not-filled tray is ridiculous---its only rice potatos and chicken...it's not anything expensive for this lady to be so cheap about...

In my opinion, this is the top-notch shawarma in Ottawa. Whether it's the high quality, recipe, assembly speed, price, generous portion size, or the consistently friendly service provided by these guys every day, everything is truly outstanding. Hits like a home cooked meal. Appreciate it!

Last 3 years Shawarma is the only fast food I eat and only from this place New King Shawarma plus.This is a family run Shawarma place and it is like a family to me. I don't think you will have a flavorful and fresh Shawarma like this even in Lebanon. More than the taste, the owner lady will treat you like your mother. She take time for each and everyone in a kindly and professional manner. Owner and rest of the people are very caring. My family love their food and from my order they will know it is for my family in Barrhaven and they will package it cleanly and will be fresh after my 20 minutes drive. Like everyone, it is a very hard time for them and I wish and pray for a bright and successful days ahead.

First, this family run business to one of the most welcoming business I have experienced. When you walk in you can guarantee that soccer will be on the TV and you will be served by one of the family members, who often remember the last time you visited. Second, New King Sharwarma Plus is the best Sharwarma place in Ottawa. Without question they have the best garlic, specifically the spicy garlic. You also cannot go wrong with any of their homemade samosas. The Shawarma plate , can be a meal for two, or one if your hungry. We love this place so much that we have bought Sharwarma weekly for the last three years.

Best falafel I've ever had. To all the vegetarians out there, you've got to try their falafel, it's delicious. The service at this restaurant was phenomenal. Both their rice dishes are tasty in their own right, but mixed together gives you the best of both worlds. I am sitting at the restaurant while writing this review. Terrible shawarma place. I am not a picky eater at all but ive tasted shawarma around Ottawa and this place is not worth a single penny. The chicken is dry as hell, no flavors whatsoever. The rice has been reheated (saw her put it in the microwave) and because of that, the rice has 1. no flavours 2. Also dry as hell. The hummus and the garlic sauce is flavourless. However, the customer service is good. Mom and pop shop type of service. Top notch. With that being said, go spend your hard earn money and walk to Shawarma Palace.

Best place to eat Shawarma in Ottawa, for shawarma lovers. Everything is fresh and taste excellent. I am a shawarma fan, and this is one the best placed to eat shawarma in town. I had the shawarma beef plater and it was just amazing. The food is very tasteful and rich. This place is not expensive at all. Something that I loved from this restaurant is the way they prepare their onions. It's very unique and the flavor is great. I don't recall any other shawarma restaurant having this detail. I would eat a beef plater every day from this place if I could. Great business and everyone was very friendly. Enjoyed the best fatoush salad I've had in a long time. The medium was huge, and all the components were fresh and crispy. Topped with heaps of warm chicken, it's an unbeatable dinner. I once eat my all 5 lunches one week at 205 Bank St. for the freshness, tastiness and the stimulation, energy the food give after morning work hours. The meat sliced thin. Tomato slices so fresh and juicy. And not allergy to the green salad. The diligent gentleman organize different portions so neatly like an art. Most importantly, you see the value of the money you spend instead finding that big part of money become their profit. Really high-valued and most recommended dish in Town!!!!!!

Best shawarma place I've tried in the city. If you order online, they offer much more customization than their competitors, so you get the trimmings you want and not those you don't. The side salads are fresher and contain more variety, the turnips are crispier and less vinegary, and the portions are generous. It would be nice if they offered kibbeh and vine leaves online; maybe they do in their store, but not on Skipthedishes. Their beef samosas are spicy--they contain jalapeño peppers.

There is no better place to grab a Shawarma than at New King Shawarma Plus. We come to eat here once a week and are never disappointed. The staff at this restaurant have become more like friends; they are so welcoming, kind, and care deeply about their customers. We love their food so much that we have purchased a container of spicy garlic to bring to our friends that live on the other side of Ontario. We feel fortunate to have found this gem, and will remain lifelong customers!

The food was great, I will go here again. I recommend this place. In my first look I thought it's a run down place, but reality is different. They get lots of take out order, so the food is fresh. They give you lots of veggies and meat, especially for the cheaper price. Seems like a family run business and I have been to this shop on a Sunday. There was only 1 person sitting in a big space, I am sure on weekdays they get lots of customers...

This little nook is a good place to satisfy your middle eastern cravings. The falafels with garlic sauce just burst into your palate. I ordered a medium plate consisting of a chicken shawarma, salads topped with lemon and olive oil, hummus and a garlic sauce. Everything compliments within that plate (styro) although the presentation is not that appealing but that’s how it looks when your are served in a styro.

Food was delicious and everyone behind the counter was nice. The chicken was particularly good, not dry like it happens too often in this type of restaurant. We'll go back for sure.

I was here last week at around 10:30pm. The portion was pretty decent but the taste was just not there. There was no kick to the garlic sauce at all. The garlic potatoes and beef shawarma were so so. It's one of those places where you eat and kind of forget lol The guy who works there was chatting and chatting with his friend. This place is lacking customer service.

Amazing! We've been going there for two years now, and they have always provided amazing service. The Shawarma is by far the best in the city. Unfortunately the name is very similar to Shawarma King down the road and is often mixed up with this restaurant. However, having been to both, I can say that the New King Shawarma Plus is the best.

I use to go to another location for shawarma when downtown but that one closed down (pre-pandemic) and this is my new place for shawarma when I do happen to be downtown. Extremely friendly staff and massive portions. I had the opportunity to go here during my lunch. There was a long lunch line but with three people behind the counter, it went pretty quick. I ended up getting a chicken shawarma plate and went to town! Great potatoes and tasty chicken. I enjoyed my meal and would love to come back!

The food was good, didn't have much of what was on the menu for a long weekend time, so we picked a family meal for 4 . In reality it can easily feed 6/7. The seating was ok too. The owner was hospitable and came to ask if we needed anything although it was a pay first service. What we took home was good for another family meal.

I've been coming to this shawarma place weekly for the past year. It's a small, family run joint that serves large portions and has incredibly nice staff. I can't stress these last two parts enough: a shawarma plate is usually enough to split between 2-3 meals, and the staff are friendly and kind. Highly recommended!

My favourite shawarma joint in Ottawa. The staff (basically only the owners) are super nice, generous with the portioning, and after a few visits recognize you and greet you personally. The people from this Shawarma restaurant are so kind. They are always willing to fix any mistake they might have made and they always serve you with a smile. I love the New King Shawarma Plus :) It gets busy at lunch time and I am not surprised - very tasty shawarmas and Lebanese food. Go check it out!

As soon as I walk in, I’m greeted by a friendly “Welcome, how are you?”, and again by another employee working there. Both of the employees there were very friendly and kind. The serving size of the shawarma is GRAND. The food tasted delicious. + sad to say I found hair in my food (in rice).

This is my only shawarma place I go to. Their potatoes with garlic are addictive. So good. I always leave full.

Probably the most consistent Shawarma place in Ottawa. If your ordering online they follow instruction well but I recommend just stopping by. They're very friendly and pack their platters! They're garlic sauce isn't overpowering and the sweet sauce on the beef is amazing!
