A beautiful and large public space today was designed similar to Central Park in New York City. Anytime I walk through, I feel a sense of the northeast, particularly Prospect Park in Brooklyn as it's nestled in a community that frequents it. Plus there's the New Orleans Botanical Garden and the New Orleans Museum of Art right there. There are lovely lakes with ducks, geese, nurtia, and swans. There are cobble bridges and secret little wooded areas. There are wonderful wandering walking paths. The Live Oak trees are wonderfully spooky with Spanish Moss and stories of their own. There are Magnolias and Sweet Gums and Cedars. Lots of pine cones and prickly pickings. The squirrels will beat you to the magnolia cones! Overall, a pretty clean and safe place to be all times of the day. Most people will greet you with either a smile or How ya doin? as you pass one another. You can rent family bikes here as well as swan boats, and even a gondola with a paddler if you're feeling romantic. There's something for everyone in this public space!

New Orleans City Park is one of the coolest spots to hang out in the city! This massive urban park spans over 1,300 acres and has something for everyone. One of the highlights of the park is the New Orleans Botanical Garden. It's filled with beautiful plants and flowers from all over the world, and it's especially stunning in the spring when the azaleas are blooming. You can also check out the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, which has over 90 sculptures set amidst a beautiful landscape. For families with kids, you won't want to miss the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. It's got an old-school carousel, a Ferris wheel, and lots of other rides and games. There's also a huge playground and lots of picnic spots throughout the park. But that's not all - the park hosts tons of events and festivals throughout the year. One of the biggest is the Celebration in the Oaks, where you can see more than a million twinkling lights, enjoy live music, and indulge in some tasty food and drinks especially the Cafe Au Lait and Beignet from Cafe Du Monde ! Overall, New Orleans City Park is one of the best places to chill in the city. With its massive size, beautiful gardens, and loads of attractions and events, it's definitely worth checking out.

Kids had an excellent time. There is a small amusement park here called carousel park. Very affordable. ~$20/person. My kids absolutely loved it! Several fun rides very similar to a stationary state fair, except so the rides were included with admission. I do wish New Orleans took better care of the place and maybe subsidized it considering a big part of the park is city owned (outside the amusement park). It looks a tad aged, but even so it was totally worth the visit. They should advertise it more and clean up and make it a better known tourist attraction. Seems like a missed opportunity for New Orleans. The French quarters was fun and interesting for adults, but this place was a far better child friendly experience. They even had an additional “story park” that cost a little extra but is for toddlers and a little older who need parents to ride the rides. This is more jungle gym climbing and small cute houses that you read short stories at. This place could do very well if hailed as a tourist hotspot for people with children. Come on New Orleans, get it together. It’s an excellent investment that could aid in excellent returns.

This place is great for walks on cool days or boat rides on the lake in summer. Huge sports complex and nice dog park. Several playgrounds for the kids as well as fitness equipment spots... Ideal for a picnic or even a wedding which I've seen several of. Lights are up for the holidays starting in October for Halloween and into December for Christmas one of the first places I frequent since I moved here 12 years ago

My New Orleans City Park review is (shockingly) for the actual New Orleans City Park. I will review businesses within the park separately as applicable. The park is HUGE, so we did not see it all. However, we were in the area of the Singing Oak and the lake. The park was lovely, with a variety of plant life. The walking/biking trail was clean and fairly well maintained. There was one low spot between the road leading to the Art Museum and the trail that had water over it. It has rained every day this week, so that my be unusual? We saw one piece of trash. People were walking/biking/skateboarding on the path. People were friendly. Wheeled travelers kept to the right (as instructed by signage) and there was no drama or issues that we saw. The whole experience was pleasant (except for when I thought I could paddle a swan boat for an hour, but that was my fault and a different review.

New Orleans City Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country with plenty to offer. I love coming here for big activities (like Holidays in the Oaks or wrapping up the Crescent City Classic) and just to stroll around. If you stick to the front of the park, you'll find plenty of fun activities, play areas for kids, art, and beignets. If you venture further into the park, there are hiking trails, tennis/pickleball courts, golf courses, and more. All around, this is a great park.

One of my favorite places in the city. It's not only beautiful, clean and easy to get to but very peaceful. I love that it's not just a park but there are so many things to enjoy including a restaurant, museums, both botanical & sculpture gardens, paddle boats,golf, a cute train that goes around the park for the kids, walking paths, a pond, the beautiful trees and so much more.

There's an abundance of picnic areas in the park. Some in very strange places. Many include covered pavilions and bbq grills.

This place is massive and so so beautiful. There are breathtaking ancient oak trees covered in Spanish moss that litter the park. There's a stadium, huge soccer and football fields, tennis courts, bike and surrey rentals, kayak and swan boat rentals areas for fishing, a golf course and a million other things. The New Orleans Museum of art is also in the park as well as the Louisiana Children's Museum. This park is huge and the views are picturesque. There were so many tadpoles, lots of turtles and some fish (I think I saw an alligator gar) in the Bayou Metairie.

Beautiful place to walk and take in the beautiful sights! Just a note of caution to other tourists: Had someone local yell and cuss me out when he thought he was in the background of my photo, although he wasn’t, and he just cussed even more when I tried to apologize and explain… he got ugly fast, but fortunately walked off. Other than that, the park seemed very pleasant and safe to walk through solo. Highly recommend checking out the sculpture gardens along with everything else here, you can spend an entire day and then some!

Excellent outdoor space with lots to do and see. Great place to take an easy stroll in the free sculpture gardens (there are 2 - 1 is behind the Art Museum), watch folks ride the old city park Carousel in the whimsical children’s fairytale themed park, ride the train then grab a bite at Cafe du Monde while listening to a free outdoor concert by some excellent local musicians. Or Take a picnic lunch and walk amongst the trees in the forest area close to the golf course on the other side of this massive park.

New Orleans is home for me so when in town I sometimes like to visit this amazing park. It’s the most beautiful park I’ve ever been to so I like to frequent the walking trail. Lots of great additions in the last few years but prices are a little steep. It’s gotten so touristy that I wouldn’t be surprise in the future they put a charge on even entering this public park. Also some of the new sculptures are weird but that seems to be the theme all over New Orleans now being that it’s so gentrified now.

Nice place to visit in New Orleans away from the hustle bustle of the French and Canal street where we stayed. There is a street car going there from the canal street. The park is wide spread, a good cafe there and a few hundred years old oak tree. There were some ducks and birds around too. Good place to walk, relax and shoot some images too. If you like nature and greens, perfect place to visit. I went early in the morning and was bright and sunny.

This is a wonderful park and a must-visit for your NOLA trip. It is beautiful and has so much to do. There is a childrens museum, and art museum, a sculpture garden, and amusement park, bike and paddle boat rentals and much more! We biked around the park and wandered up on a farmers market on Saturday morning. It was a great atmosphere and had a great selection. It was a great time and easily something to do for everyone in the family.

I have lived in New Orleans for 10 years. City Park makes living here truly enjoyable. The Tree canopy is sheltering from the summer heat making 95 degree August days feel like a tropical stroll in 85 degree moderate Caribbean weather. City Bark is available for our dogs. Cut Putt and amusement rides, two golf courses, frisbee golf, horse stables, wildlife, alligators and more. An oasis in the middle of a metropolitan area. Beautiful.

Beautiful setting, look out for the singing oak near the art museum. The wind chimes are set to the pentatonic scale. Very peaceful. We were looking for a little something we could drive to and would cost very little. The park was perfect. We walked thru the sculpture park by the museum of art. Also went to Cafe Due Monde. Staff was very friendly and food excellent. Also was not as busy as the one in the French quarter which was nice.

What a Beautiful sprawling Park! Enormous wide, towering oak trees with Spanish moss surround the peaceful lake. Tons of wildlife. We saw ducks, turtles, geese, an enormous swan and even enjoyed a paddle boat ride on a swan paddle boat. Not far away from the street car pick up and drop off on the neutral ground(the median for non NOLA folks) A must see stop that's completely free to enjoy and just steps away from the Art museum.

City Park is a beautiful 1,300-acre public park. Offering a wide variety of actives to bring joy to everyone! From curved bridges, golf course, a variety of gorgeous botanical, food & sculpture gardens, park benches, tennis center, live oaks with Spanish moss, rugby field, black swans, art museum, football/soccer/baseball fields, water features, beautiful winding walkways, playground, the list goes on …

I have been all over the Midwest and this park ranks near the top of my list if not THE top for a combination of wonderful family activities, cultural opportunities and STUNNING nature. The Grove of ancient Live Oaks along the Southern edge is absolutely mind blowing. Any ONE of those trees would be a feature attraction in any of the state parks, nature preserves etc I have been to in the midwest.

One of the largest city parks in the country. And it is beautiful. Here's how you have a fun time. Run over to Parkway Bakery (Hagen St) and score a combination fish -shrimp poboy. (Mixed not half and half). Then take it over to the lake/pond where they rent out paddle boats. Find the seats and tables on the end where the water is falling into the pond. Sit. Eat. Think of how lucky you are.

You can spend a whole day walking around here and doing different things. There are plenty of walking paths all over the place. Plenty of places to stop and have a picnic. This park is very large and you can get lost if you don't know your way around. Parking can be difficult on the weekends but if you get there early you will find parking. Wonderful Ambiance and a well-maintained park.

Beautiful beautiful park with so much space, so many lovely winding walkways, curved bridges, and a variety of gardens from botanical to sculpture to enjoy. Park benches, live oaks, water features, and of course the must-see art museum. You can also enjoy Cafe Du Monde, with a large patio seating area. And last but not least enjoy the lake on a rented Swan shadows paddle boat or kayak!

Any city would be fortunate to have such a vibrant asset as New Orleans City Park! Not only is it massive, but it it full of activities and attractions such as the Museum of Art, Grow Dat Youth Farm, Children’s Museum, and Cafe du Monde - just to name a few. There’s also frisbee golf, softball fields, exercise equipment etc. etc. You can easily spend a full day exploring. Amazing park!

We stopped at the city bark for our fury friend to burn some energy while we made our cross country trip from Phoenix to Savannah along the I10. Best dog park I've ever been to hands down. Clean, has hills, plenty of shade, obstacles, and little pools I wish my pooch didn't discover on this trip . Thank you NOLA for providing this to your residents and travelers like myself.

If you're visiting New Orleans you have to take a day to visit the sights of the park, the sculpture garden, botanical garden, and art museum are all phenomenal, and the park itself is so beautiful and so large. With free and paid activities, public restrooms, and just a truly breathtaking space.

Saw an awesome music festival here. Everything was well managed and there were plenty of bathrooms. The park also has putt-putt, an amusement park, botanical gardens, lake activities, a sculpture garden, a museum, and a kids play land, the list goes on and on. Very nice place. Take a tram and go to the City Park and you will get a real pleasure. You can just walk or sit in the shade on a hot day. You can visit the art museum, you can ride a catamaran or a boat on the lake. First off all it is a beautiful and great place to spend a weekend with family and friends. Definitely recommended

HUGE park. Very nice. PREPARE to walk. The only thing I didn't like is you have to pay $25 to ride the train around the park even if you are not going to the amusement park. They are combined. They should have a separate fee just for the train. Considering the size of the park a trolley would be nice to get from one place to another.

One of the most beautiful parks in the world!!! Interesting fact…City Park was once one large plantation. It is 50% larger than Central Park in New York. It is amazing. You can take gorgeous photos here for sure! There is so much fun to be had here…plus you can get beignets! By far one of the MUST experiences when in New Orleans!

The coolest park I've been to as of yet. It's brimming with large, old Oak, and Magnolia trees. People are very laid back here, and music is always in the spot light. There are also the largest amount of vegan joints, and I'm talkin' soul and comfort food. Many people workin' on the bod and sports. Lacrosse anyone? Can can....

Had a great time out at City Park especially knowing my mom grew up across the street and mentioning all the wonderful times she had there. Wasn't able to stay long due to the rain, but I'm hoping to come back on next visit, so I can experience this beautiful park even more. Btw, Storyland was very impressive and fun.

One of the cleanest and most peaceful parks. Given the size, they managed space well to include swan boat rides, accommodate runners, cyclists, lots of picnics, and good driving lanes for easy parking and pickup!! Some super scenic views and a great place to go for sunset watching before dinner!

Such a wonderful place with so many great activities all together in a vast space. My wife and kids loved it. The willow trees are beautiful. Can have some nice coffee in the park as well. Take the time out to go here. There is a sculpture garden that really has a nice veriety...very creative.

I enjoyed the children's amusement park at the City Park. There is a variety of things you can do whether riding a bike around, walking, flying a kite, throwing a birthday party, relaxing on the swing, going on kids rides or the fairy land area for the little ones. I enjoyed the train ride.

City Park in NOLA is a wonderful urban park larger than Central Park in NYC. It is easily accessible by public transportation. The sculpture garden is a must.

We enjoyed driving through.. everything was closed because it's Monday. The DOG PARK was open it is amazing!!!! I would love to have e one like it near my own home!!! It's huge... there are many fun things for dogs, even mud holes! There is a wash station on the way our so it's ok!!

One of the crown jewels of New Orleans, it's home to countless features, so many things to do. You can come every day for a week and see different parts of the park. There are lots of volunteer opportunities in the park as well. The neighborhood is a wonderful place to live.

Beautiful park. Hosts some of the larger festivals in New Orleans such as VooDoo Fest. Has the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Children’s Museum. Plenty of paths to take for walks, jogs, bike rides, etc. always very clean. They also have an awesome outdoor art exhibit.

I am extremely disappointed in the experience. We paid $80 for two vehicles and heard amazing things, and definitely not what I expected. Very limited lights several open spaces with no lights just empty trees. Definitely a bad experience with it being my first time.

Visited the NOMA Sculpture Garden at City Park. Free of charge, donations requested at the entrance Beautiful gardens. Love this place and the beautiful grounds and sculptures. A must see at City Park.

It's absolutely wonderful! The good old New Orleans feel is there as well as the old oak trees that are over 100 years old I'm sure. Definitely worth a visit. Like other places in New Orleans if you fall in love with New Orleans it will fall in love with you back.

Unfortunately we were here in the fall so the botanical gardens were interesting but not as beautiful as I'm sure it is in the spring. It was a huge park. We didn't do a lot. We strolled the sculpture garden which was awesome. Found a great BBQ spot nearby.

Such a beautiful park great for walking and with Cafe Du Monde in the park, it's a win across the board. There are bridges that cross over a small swamp and bring you to some very old trees and good photo opts. There is an 800 year old Live Oak Tree.

There was so much to do here. The sad part is it was too hot to do much, so that put a limit on what we did do. The scenery and atmosphere were so peaceful, as well as beautiful. I would definitely recommend City Park as a must visit on your list.

Rented a car while in New Orleans and just happened upon this place. Such an amazing place. Cafe Du Monde had the only comfortable chairs of the entire trip. Very clean, friendly and peaceful. So much to see and do. Must add to “to do” lists

Beautiful park and certainly worth a visit. The sculpture garden is impressive and the trees are just beautiful. It's the kind of place that leaves one in owe. Don't forget to visit Cafe du Monde for some frozen coffee and beignets.

Sensational park, with beautiful live oak trees! A large Cafe Du Monde has lots of outdoor seating space. Enjoyed a drive around the park on a bus tour, then when we went back ourselves before we left town. It's a special place.

You can't beat the shade and trees which create an only New Orleans atmosphere at City Park! Cafe Dumond is an awesome addition and the park is maintained in pristine condition. No better place to experience NOLA at its best!

We went on the Bus Tour via our City Pass and this was the drop off location. This spot is extremely beautiful with the landscape and scenery. It also has a Cafe de Monte to get an authentic beignets.

So tranquil, this place, very beautiful. The price is not bad either. I loved the flowers and the bamboo trees. I'd like to visit again one day at night and see the lights lit up.

This park is gorgeous. I visited New Orleans twice and came here both times. The trees are amazing. There is plenty of parking which is nice. This is a must visit.

If you are in NOLA and looking for something to do that is not the French quarter I highly recommend. They have an amazing sculpture park.

We had such a peaceful time here while waiting for our flight. We rode bikes, had lunch across the street and walked around the park.

We rented a swan paddle boat. You have to rent it for no less than an hour,after 30 minutes we were done. It is hot and very tiring.

Beautiful park in the middle of the city with huge trees and lush greenery. We went to story land and took a walk here.

Attended the annual Ashley Code Golf Tournament. Awesome food than event to help others with childhood cancer.

Good place to bring family. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around. Also, a Café Du Monde on-site.
