Admittedly skeptical of online reviews, I called Russell early on the morning of 13 March 2015 to tackle the hot water shower tap which decided to stop working and the response was a chirpy "I'll be over shortly" which I thought was the closest thing to getting off on the right foot over the phone as anyone could expect. And it got better from then on. Russell was efficient, very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and to top it all off, he was very open with additional advice on the state of my home's hot water and plumbing system which, admittedly, has seen better days. I am not generally open with my praise for someone whom I meet for the first time but I am more than happy to make this an exception, and I am pretty certain this will not be the last time I will be engaging him. The only downside to this whole experience was he left before my coffee machine was properly warmed up. Thanks so much, Russell.

Not very happy with the service, or the response to my initial review. After receiving good quality work with a previous hot water system issue, I called to ask for urgent help to fix a blocked sewerage pipe and received no support. After asking several questions about my predicament, Newman abruptly declined to help. There are no Covid restrictions that apply when a customer cannot flush their toilet: it is an essential service and I had already checked this with the DHHS Covid hotline. Every plumber knows this. Fortunately several other plumbers and handymen were willing to help. The handyman that came quickly fixed the problem that night - a simple blockage that fortunately was above ground. I felt that Newman Plumbing were not sympathetic to my situation on this occasion, which I expected as a repeat customer.

The thing I like most about Russell and Newman Plumbing is that, for years, whenever I've rung him with a plumbing emergency (these have included blocked drains, flooded heating ducts, bung hot water units, busted pipes, disintegrating taps) he's swept in like a superhero, literally within an hour or so of me calling, to fix the problem. It's literally like "who was that masked man?" Russell has to be the most efficient and knowledgeable plumber in existence and he will solve your problems completely in double quick time. You will never hear Russell say "I can be there by, maybe, Thursday" and you'll never have to ring him to say "It's still not working properly". Russell solves your plumbing problems completely with no messing around. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Very disappointed. He could have told me of a rough estimate of hiring a camera to check the pipes. Instead he vaguely stated that it is going to cost a fair bit for hiring a camera although I asked how much a few times. He turned up on the day with the camera and told me it is going to cost approx. $1000! I wanted to send him back but decided to go through with it because it was partly my fault that I had booked him to come and I didn't listen to my gut feeling. I just wanted things to get done before I traveled overseas. Anyway, he could have recommended that he could flush the pipes first and if this had not fixed the issue, he could hire a camera which was going to cost this much.

I rang Russell yesterday about a probable blocked drain, and he was at my house by 8.30 this morning. He had all of the high tech equipment necessary to find and clear the blockage, also identifying and clearing 5-6 other partial blockages in drains around the house that had not (as yet) caused visible trouble. He is very competent and friendly, and readily changed washers and taps in my shower as well. Work on drains is not cheap, but the equipment required isn’t either! I highly recommend Russell. He is coming back in a month to do preventative foam treatment so that the tree roots don’t become a problem again.

Excellent service, super friendly and very knowledgable!! Russell Newman from Newman Plumbing fixed the mixer tap in my shower. I emailed the night before saying I wanted someone the next day. He was able to accommodate this and showed up right on time. After fixing the tap, he took a look at some of my other fittings and provided advice and guidance on how to maintain them (no extra charge, just helping me understand the fittings in my new home). I contacted them based on the good reviews but what a disappointment! We had a leak coming through the ceiling from the shower upstairs. The guy came for five minutes, didn't turn any taps on, looked at shower door and told me I had to replace whole shower doors. Then walked outside and slapped his sticker on our hot water system saying it needs replacing. That was it! $120 for that. I just got a handyman to come have a look and he fixed the problem on the spot, no need to replace the whole shower screen!

What a legend! Living local I’ve used Newman Plumbing a few times, and each time I’ve had prompt, professional and friendly service. There’s always a big worry about hidden fees with trade jobs, but Russell always gives a price up front, explains the job, and fixes issues so they stay fixed. Absolutely recommend for any of your plumbing needs, and the first guy I call when I need something fixed! Also made sure right from the start of his latest call-out that I had his proof of vaccination.

I called just after 9am needing dripping basin taps replaced. Russell dropped in between his booked jobs to take a look, provide a quote and from his truck showed me the taps he would install. Russell then came back at 3pm as agreed, installed the taps, cleaned up and checked my water pressure. Great to have the new taps installed so now we won't be wasting water! Thanks Russell! I have use Newman Plumbing services twice in recent times. Russell fixed my gas hot water service and my gas dusted heating unit. Called Newman Plumbing as our toilet and sink etc were not draining quickly. 30 mins later Russell was at our front door and an hour later our blocked pipe (tree roots) was all sorted.
