Negative 5 stars. Ive been going to nicks for a long time but I wont be going back. I went a couple of days ago around 9pm or so and the staff was arguing amongst themselves. could be why the line is always so long. but I waited for them to finish arguing and then everyone in the growing line was able to place their orders. It took about 45 minutes altogether from when we arrived until we were served our food. I ordered the fish fingers and crab legs, and three plates of wings and fries. THERE WAS A SMALL HAIR IN THE CONTAINER with the fish fingers. It looked like a beard hair it was short and curled and black. the fish fingers are like a golden color so the hair stuck out against the white tray. But again, ive been a customer so I took the plate to the counter and said hey, theres a hair in the container can you remake it. He challenged whether my claim was valid....and then began to dig through the plate with a butter knife. Im 37 years old.... I dont have time for games, I'm not eating around someone elses hair. So i simply asked him to refund the fish fingers and I took the rest of my food with me to go. I dropped my daughter off at her home with two of the wing plates and i headed home to pasco. as soon as i reached the county line my daughter calls me to say she pulled a hair out of her mouth as she was eating a chicken wing. TWO HAIRS NOW. I turned around on I75 nd came alllllllll the way back to refund all of the food. wherever they store their containers probably needs to be cleaned and they need to pay attention to the food instead of arguing and acting bad. After I went through so much effort to bring the food back another worker 1. stated i lied because my daughter spit the hair out in the trash instead of bringing it back to the store.. 2. went on to explain that "people like me" love to put my own hair in the food so i can ask for a refund. 3. trespassed my from the store stating I should not return because i complained. I wont return anyway.

After 3 years of driving by the place & seeing the long drive thru lines, I decide to stop on the late night tip and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and helpful, which makes the atmosphere light. The food is great. I ordered a gyro Deliciously stacked with meat and sauce just how I like it! I will definitely be back. I'm a night so the fact they open until 4am on weekdays is perfect. PS: The chicken cheese sub is awesome, also.

There's plenty of free parking. The hard part is getting to it. Sometimes the drive thru line is so long, it blocks the entrance to the parking. One of the reasons I never stopped before. Now that I know how good they are, the drive thru line won't intimidate me anymore.

Nick's Gyros & Subs was a delightful discovery! The moment I stepped inside, the inviting aroma of fried goodness filled the air, setting the stage for a mouthwatering meal. I started with the fried shrimps, and they were a crispy, flavorful delight. Each bite had the perfect crunch, and the shrimp inside were plump and succulent. The fish fingers were equally impressive – golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. A true seafood lover's dream. And let's not forget the fried chicken! It was absolutely finger-licking good, with a well-seasoned, crunchy coating that made every bite a pure indulgence. The service at Nick's Gyros & Subs was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. This place is a hidden gem for fried food enthusiasts like me. I went to Nicks today. First of all I always use cards when paying for my food. Never have my bank charge me extra nor have i ever consented to tipping them. The food is expensive enough. My food came up to 44.43. These people charged my card 51.09 6.66 EXTRA!!! Im not sure if they were trying to be slick today or what but they charged me more than i agreed to. I called them once i got home and told them how i didnt appreciate them swiping my card for another price. He than blamed it on my bank. People please pay attention to your transactions because if you dont say anything they will rob you blind. Im not happy at all. This is unacceptable and im going back tomorrow to see whats really going on. I DID NOT authorize them to get more money from me. Heres photos of my experience here at this location. I love Nick's Gyros, they are actually my go-to spot since I don't go to Salem's gyros anymore. The food is cooked fresh to order and sometimes you have to wait a couple minutes but it's still not a long wait and they appreciate their customer business. They just recently started charging $0.54 for an extra dipping sauce but that is fine sometimes I don't need it I just switch out the one that they give me with my meal for the kind that I like and they are very nice. I asked them to cook my fries a little bit longer so it can have that crispy crunch to it and they cook my fries to perfection, with just enough seasoning, I have no complaints about this place. I always get the shrimp and fries which is the #2 combo and even though their combo is a little more expensive than Salem's you get more shrimp.

The gentleman here is wonderful, kind and provides excellent customer service. The cheesecake is delicious. We ordered fried shrimp and gizzard, chicken gyros, Phillysteak all cans with drink and fries. Well, let's get into it. The food was terrible, the fries were brick hard, everything was overcooked. I won't be back. I was hoping it would taste like the Nicks back home in the Chi, it didn't. I so wanted to like this place because the guy was so nice. Dang. It's a no for me.

Went there at 10:55am so no line, and ordered the gyro and fries meal with extra sauce. My total was 11.81.The fries were reallyyy nice and hot and crispy, and they were hot for a good little bit after so that was nice. The gyro wasn’t that satisfying as it could’ve been. The proportions are big, but I think it was a little too much meat since it took me a couple of bites of just meat to get to the pita bread and sauce. The meat wasn’t hot or warm, and even though it was easy to bite through, it had a weird taste to it like it was old or stale. I pretty much got full off of the fries since they were that satisfying to eat. I’ll probably get something different next time I visit.

If I could give this place more stars I would! Don’t take whatever bad review you see on here seriously the wings were the best I’ve had in a long time and there’s so many wing places around the area but this place is the one to go for sure!!!!!! The staff were extremely considerate and kind and the service was exceptional!!!!! Just was a pleasant place to be all around and felt like home. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!!!! I asked for light sauce and they did JUST THAT! 10/10!!!! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!! Fries were A1 too.

The only reason for the 4 stars is the parking lot. This place is pretty good and everyone knows it. The drive thru line comes out to the street. The placement of it is horrible. I parked and went in but had to wait 20 min to leave because I was blocked in. They give a great portion of fries and the gyros are pretty great with lots of meat. The seasoning of the meat is just right. Not bland or overbearing. I do feel the sauce should be more spread throughout or just more sauce but it is still pretty damn good. There was a short wait because of the number of customers but it is worth the 5-10 min wait. One of the places I make sure to stop at anytime I'm in Florida.

Nicks is pretty good but the atmosphere is very dirty in the hood so if you have no problem with that then you will feel right at home. I have eaten there plenty of times and had no problem with the food they crab legs are very delicious

It's one of the top wing places in Tampa. The fried shrimp are so delicious, but there is honestly nothing gross on the menu. They know how to season and cook some food There are some indoor booths to sit and enjoy your meal. There is also a drive thru, and you can call ahead.

Service is prompt. You can call your order in ahead of time and they tell you 10 min, it's 10 min or less no matter how busy. The drive thru was extremely backed up on my last visit. Inside was just as bad. This was on a Thursday evening and I decided to park and call the order in from their parking lot.They said 10 minutes. As busy and backed up as they were, 8 minutes later I walked inside and my orders were ready. Food is always fresh and hot. If you've never been there, give it a try. You'll be glad you did!!

Before covid food was excellent ,spent 80 plus dollars a week ago and the food was HORRIBLE,half done shrimp,the wings were cooked too fast and the fish was soggy, the fries sucked too,I was so disappointed with them ,it definitely was a new cook and they need to fire that cook and bring the old cook back everything tasted horrible and I live a hour away so they lost a customer that day ,I'm Never going back #yucko# learn to treat your good customers right!!!

Waited over 40 minutes in line to receive the wrong food and the man also argued with me saying I didn’t order a drink (when I did) and made me pay more for the drink which is fine okay cool…. All to get the wrong food…. Like sir you over here arguing with me about $1.71 and then gave me the whole wrong order that I paid $40 for. No thanks. Won’t be wasting my time here anymore. Sadly I was already all the way home when I noticed. The food is just as good at Salems or Garden gyros so don’t waste your time here.

Sent food with a cup of buffalo sause in the bottom of the bag. Got all.over my frys my 2 sandwichs its all ruiend and you cant eat it. When I called for a refund they argued with me saying they Wouldn't send food that way. Uber won't refund it they won't refund it so they took 45 dollers from me saying I needed to.bring the mess back to get new food. I'm 7 months pregnant ordered delivery just to be disappointed and screwed over on my order. Beware if you order delivery they will not make the situation right.

Im going to be honest. The food maybe great but from the moment you walk into this restaurant all you smell is mildew, mold, and roaches. There is no way that they have passed all their food inspections. This place needs to be completely gutted. The floors are disgusting, the tiles are full of dust and are black. Do you see the cash registers. They are filthy. The cooler in the front has all types of food in it...cross contamination. I will never recommend this place...they should be on dirty dinning.

THE OWNER was rude , the cashier was barely listening and I had to repeat myself multiple times , cashier was interacting with other people while I was talking , slacked on food . I ordered light HONEY BBQ they drenched my wings , I ordered ranch and they gave me blue cheese , even the fries were hard like not fully cooked . They just half-a** everything . I just ordered this cheeseburger with everything, but this is what I got. I went friday and ordered a gyro with extra tzatziki, there was no extra sauce, and it was small. Somethings going on in the kitchen there, it used to seem like they wanted your business, now there starting to fit in with the rest of the fast food joints on E. Hillsborough. I've went from five stars to three stars, but I hope they get a better kitchen staff and earn those two stars back

This is my 2nd time here. There is always a line, so I decided to give it another try. The grease must've been old. The gizzards were too dark and hard. The okra was hot, but it was salty and soggy. I ordered hot chicken wings, they were okay. I'm not a fan of wings fried hard, but I have friends who swear by them.

My first time visiting. I stopped because it is a very popular spot in my city. The inside was very clean (did not check the restroom). My order was taken quickly and the food was prepared in a timely manner and served hot and fresh. When I returned home the food was still nice and hot. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well the food was seasoned and tasted. It was a great first experience and I will definitely return for more.

Line was a bit long but I understood why when I got the wings. I had the honey mustard, lemon pepper and Buffalo wings and it was amazing. Wings were not dry and had the right amount of seasoning. The price was extremely reasonable as well. Definitely going back again but this time calling ahead and placing the order.

Always packed, like super busy. But it is worth the wait ! Trust me these wings & fries are FABULOUS and full of flavor. You get huge portions, and friendly staff. They have such a versatile menu. And all their options are SO GOOD. I love their greek salad that comes with huge chunks of feta, and grape leaves filled with savory rice and spices. One of my all time favorite tampa spots ❤️

The food is awesome and the prices are great as well! I would definitely come here for fast food! I recommend to come before 7pm because their cooks are the best! Update: It's still a great place to crab wings and snow crabs. However, the price have increased and they are stingy with the sauce so be sure to ask for extra sauce (54cents).

First time trying this place. Food was really good, although I asked for lemon pepper wings and just got regular buffalo flavor. I was back home when I discovered this, so just kept them. Still pretty damn good along with the chicken gizzards. The mozzarella sticks had some type of cajun season of some sorts...really good!

The food is exquisite and flavourful, the restaurant is small but the seats are comfy and they have the television playing. The prices are great in my opinion, and the wait isn't long (if you're not getting lots of food of course) and the staff is quick and sharp I appreciate how fast they work and how great the food is.

Funky old building was what attracted me... Needs updating and a huge improvement in customer service. The food is decent fast food quality. Good variety. This place has potential, hope the owners do something... You do get what you pay for and it's a good value.

First visit. Ordered Gyro all the way. Most of the Gyro meat was hacked up in jagged chucks. I had 1 little lonely tomato and 2 onion slivers. Looked like I had about 12 tablespoons of tzatziki sauce thrown on. The meat was all dried out which is likely the reason for the large amounts of sauce. Last visit.

Omg! This place is the absolute best! I don’t live here and I was recommended by my coworker at the hospital. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. The customer service was also excellent. I will be returning. Thank you so much.

We really wanted to like this place. But the wait was insane. Like at least 30 minutes just from the time we actually ordered (not including before). Also the prices weren't great. The chicken gizzards were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. But the actual gyro wasn't great. Disappointed...

Great tasty food! I like ordering and coming through the drive thru to pick it up. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for food to be ready. They usually quote you a time when you call to minimize wait time. My favorites are the Philly Cheese Steak with everything and the Buffalo Wings.

The fries were actually very good. The portions are large. The gyro is mediocre at best. The tzatziki smells bad. The pita wasn’t anything great at all. The restaurant is an old place in the hood. The people are very nice hard working.

Not only is the food amazing, the staff is very very friendly. It may be a little while waiting in line, but they give everyone the same courtesy each individual car through the drive-thru. I would highly recommend eating at Nicks if you're in the area:-)

Really popular always a long line,in drive through, but it's worth it.

O my goodness, I was sadly disappointed. My son had bragged on this place and I was so looking forward to it. My fries was so hard that I couldn't eat them, the shrimp wasn't properly cleaned, the chicken fingers and fish lacked seasoning.

Cheesesteaks are awesome there but should have a bit more onion and green peppers The bread they use is awesome crunchy on the outside soft in the Middle. French fries are hit and Miss . Nice sized sandwich though makes my belly happy …

I order a hamburger an fries an the wait was very long don't know why

Solid gyro with an excellent portion of meat. One star removed for lackluster fries served with the gyro. They were soggy.

Great Experience after coworkers recommended their wings. Had a little trouble with ordering not familiar with the lingo. But was able to adjust my order and the attendant asked if I would like a drink and also my wife. Very Great Service

The reviews were outstanding so I really hoped it would be good but unfortunately my whole family didn't like it. Based on reviews we got the philly and fries to start, super big and lots of meat unfortunately it was not seasoned enough,

The scallops are about as big as any in Tampa, love the shrimp too.

Got my usual original Gyro combo. The meat used was a tad bit salty. Not the usual for this sandwich. You still get more than enough for the price. Actually wish they sold a half order. Food in general is very good from here.

So Nick Gyros has the best wings and shrimp pasta.

I love the food here... its slot of choices but everything that I've tried so far tasted amazing... the staff handled a full lobby of customers smoothly and without incident I'd definitely recommend this place to all...

Not a bad bite on the entire menu. I'm not even a big liver fan but the livers or even great. Great food, good prices, fast service. Most purple walk up and order just because of how quick it is. Definitely a favorite.

Freaking amazing! Gave us extra wings and they were cooked perfect with generous sauce and the fries and shrimp were perfect.. Thank you for a great experience. So worth the wait. The line is long for a reason …

It doesn't matter what time you come here the food is always good and you are going to get good quality food.! I use to love salems but this place gives u way more food for a cheaper price! It is a must go !

To have waited as long as we did just for the fries to taste stale and there to be chicken that is not fully cooked never again

I love it here. They stay open late! The wings are always bomb af! They are really good so it's usually a long drivethru line. Yup, they have a dive thru! It's always worth the wait tho! I love Nicks!

I will try the cheese steak next time but the gyros not the greatest, not bad but I've had better. Really no flavor and just a drop of tzatziki sauce.

I drive 25mins just for the wings because they allow you to mix your sauces they way I like it,and I love the Buffalo mild with Honey Mustard. Philly steak is very good too.

Cheap and eclectic. Great service! So very delicious. Lots of food for the price. I love their fish fingers and fries. Another great local spot you can't find anywhere else.

5 stars if u bring back chicken livers. The waits a lill long but worth it cause its fresh. But Definitely disappointed the took the fried chicken livers off the menu

Can't get enough of that philly cheese steak. And they're open till 2 A.m. They mainly specialize in seafood.
